The Parish Café Review - Healdsburg - The Infatuation

"For the perfect breakfast before heading out on a wine-tasting spree, head to The Parish Cafe for New Orleans-style comfort food that would make even the most homesick Louisianan proud. Grab their pillowy fried beignets dusted in powdered sugar and pair them with chicory coffee to be transported right to NOLA, or dig into a more hearty breakfast like their breakfast po’boy or shrimp and grits. Lunch is all about seafood po’boys, but they also serve other Cajun classics like red beans and rice and gumbo." - Allison Green

A solid 4 out of 5, with more hits than misses. + We called ahead, said we were 15 minutes away, and were promptly seated with a choice of indoor or out. It was a beautiful Memorial Day Monday, so we opted for outside. - We waited a little longer than necessary for our waitperson to come to our table. She apologized in that she hadn't seen us get seated. + Waitperson was helpful, friendly, and even fun, too. Great service after a slow start. + The okra bites appetizer was plentiful, perfectly seasoned, and the dipping sauce wonderful. +/- The crab cake sandwich was good, but not great. The burger was the same. It was a good meal, but fell a little short of 'wow, we've got to come back here again soon.' + The key lime pie was tasty, especially the crust. All in all, a solid 4 out of 5. The waitstaff made the experience great.

Ate here 2/13. Service our server was great. Atmosphere is pretty chill. Food was good and had a nice flavour. I got a side salad, alligator bites, and a cup of gumbo Portions are decent. The only reason for the point deduction is some of the prices are a bit much (the one that stood out the most was $11 for mac and cheese (?!) And I think the brownie dessert is $15) Misc: they need to update their menu on their website because some of the prices are shown do not match the menu you are given. Esp important if you budget your money Misc#2: Forgot to take a picture before removing all the sliced carrots to the side. Everything is mixed in (I forgot to tell them no carrots so that's my fault)

We stopped in The Parish for lunch. My husband had the jambalaya with shrimp, I had the Mac and cheese with crawfish. I liked his better. The shrimp had a smokey taste. Mine was just okay. The service was very good and the atmosphere was very homey. I would go back again.

What a lovely place. Excellent drinks as you’d expect from a Nola inspired place. Gater tots were super crunchy and flavorful but definitely over salted. I absolutely loved the blackened catfish but the jambalaya was just ok. Fast attentive service, cute vibe and good prices.

Demure. My gf and I enjoyed our time at this place. The food we ordered was ok though (burger and chicken sándwich).

The choices are unique compared to other restaurants. The food was very tasty. I had the black bean burger which was excellent. It had a little too much sauce but the sauce was so good. My wife had the jambalaya which was tasty but the chicken was a little tough. Overall we had a great experience and this was our second time here. The service was very friendly. They lowered the air conditioning when we requested and were very polite and helpful.

The Chicken Wings were bursting with flavor, the Gator Bites were superbly executed, and the Fried Okra was a delightful crispy treat. Moving on to the mains, both the Gumbo and Jambalaya struck the perfect balance of spice, delivering an authentic taste of the South.
