Chef Tiffany Derry on Which New Texas State Fair Foods to Eat | Eater Dallas

"They greet me like old friends at their booth, and their deep-fried gumbo — which won both best savory and most creative at last year’s Big Tex Choice Awards — is something I can’t say enough good things about. This year they offered a lasagna roll that’s soft (my fork slid right in), with a string of melted mozzarella and everything you want in lasagna, though I’d like a touch more spice; pro tip: dip it in the marinara that comes on the side and eat it with your hands." - Courtney E. Smith

Little shopping centre for a small northern industrial town. Just not good enough but has the shops you find in all these towns. Update. So very depressing these days with most (I didn't actually do a count but it feels most) of the Units closed. There is the market in the largest unit. Wilko is due to close in the near future. There is at least a VUE cinema but as with so many of these shopping areas as they go downhill then there is an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour and folks are less likely to use the remaining units. Oh the promise when it was opened in the 80s and given the change in our shopping habits there is little hope for a turn round. There is a shortage of housing in the area though!

Scunthorpe town centre shopping. Covid has had an effect on the retail space in the town with a few units closing and remaining empty. Still the usual provincial looking retail experience though, charity shops, e-cigs, phone shops, pound shops, WHSmith, Greggs etc etc.

20 years ago it was great. USC, HMV, H&M, Woolworths, Wilkos. The place was great for shopping with a fair bit if choice. Now most of the shops are empty and the ones that are open are cheap super markets and poundshops.

Like the variety of shops available, with difficutly walking it has been up and going for years before my first visit. Loved it will go there again, when I need more than one gift, or able to shop on wheels.
