"The Park at 14th has four floors where you’ll find people day drinking endless mimosas on Saturday afternoon or swinging through to watch the night's big fight. Either way, the downtown clubstaurant is shoulder-to-shoulder with folks jockeying for bar space while listening to the most popular rap and R&B music from the last three decades. If you want to sit, make a reservation in advance, but if there’s a special event going on, know that your table time will be limited. The food here isn’t great, but you’ll be so busy dancing along with your couple hundred newest friends, you won’t care." - tristiana hinton, omnia saed
"There are a number of spots that have taken the Black clubstaurant idea and run with it, but The Park on 14th paved the way and we like to give credit where credit is due. You aren’t going to get good food here (or at most clubstaurants), so put that out your mind. But you will have a good time, whether you show up for Happy Hour, brunch, or a late-night grinding session. The vibe is always different, depending on the time of day, day of the week, and which of the four floors you’re on. But if you and your people are looking for a fun time where you can soak up your alcohol with subpar soul food, you won’t miss at The Park." - tristiana hinton, omnia saed
"Framed in patriotic flags out front, the venue hosted an official election event for Ward 2 Councilwoman Brooke Pinto on the third floor and a D.C. Democrats event on the fourth; the doorman said they would stay open “till people stop spending money.” The candidate for shadow senator, Anti Jain, rode the elevator up and planned to speak at 9 p.m. The Democrats party was pumping and difficult to move through; bartenders were running ten minutes behind but stayed positive, and the head bartender said she used ChatGPT to help give her Harris- and election-themed drinks clever names. Popular cocktails included the Democrarita with passionfruit puree and the Ballot Bourbon (whiskey and ginger beer with lots of cranberry juice and lime). There was cheering when Delaware’s results came in, and the crowd included long-time political volunteers and out‑of‑town visitors who travel to D.C. for major elections." - Emily Venezky
