Where to Enjoy a Glass of Chardonnay This Summer in Boston | Eater

"This sparkling new outpost of a beloved Dorchester seafood spot just launched its inaugural patio season. Sidewalk tables filled with seafood towers and bottles of wine in ice buckets beckon Boston Landing pedestrians on hot summer evenings — but don’t skip out on The Pearl’s cooked seafood. the mussels in wine and ‘nduja, or owner Malik’s famous chargrilled oysters with Parmesan, spinach, and roasted garlic butter, are perfect with a glass of Harken to cut through all that butter." - Molly McDonough

The food and drinks were fantastic. Ambience is great, really fun vibe. Price is what you would expect from a higher-end restaurant but everything was delicious. Had the grilled oysters, stuffed salmon and lobster roll -- I had never had a hot lobster roll before and the waitress recommended it and wow... really, really good. Once the place filled up, however, the service got slooooowwwww. The wait staff appeared to be over-subscribed but the pace of the kitchen (it's open, so you can see it) was really slow. If you're coming before a Roadrunner show, get a reservation early. We sat down at 6 pm before an 8 pm show and just made it. If they could figure out how to make their kitchen get food out faster, this would have been a 10/10.

Delicious meal and great service! Went here for a date night, and was so impressed with the food, ambiance and server. I got the chargrilled oysters to start and they were so good! For my entree I got the salmon and it’s one of the best salmon dishes I’ve had. Looking forward to returning to The Pearl!

My family and I had the most wonderful time at this gem! Tiffany was our culinary attendant. Not only was the service top-notch, the food and its preparation was impeccable. I forget the managers name, but she left a lasting impression on us. This is the only Pearl that I'll return to. Thanks you guys for a wonderful evening. Kudos Tiffany

We arrived at 7pm and promptly ordered drinks and starters. Drinks came out, and we ordered dinner - excited by the offerings on the menu. This is a small menu with limited offerings. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 sandwiches, and a burger - hardly a complex order. No food arrived. No manager came over to apologize. At 8:30 (an hour and a half after we sat down) we left. Not a morsel of food found its way from the kitchen to our table. 90 minutes, and they served us nothing. I understand that kitchens can get backed up and service can be tough - but this was outrageous. If customers can’t be served in a reasonable timeframe, then a restaurant shouldn’t be open. We will never be back. I dismissed reviews complaining about the service, but see now that they were right. Do yourself a favor and skip The Pearl - Boston Landing. This place won’t be here for long - a restaurant that can’t get food to its customers in under 90 mins, won’t be part of Boston’s dining scene for long. Big thumbs down.

This restaurant is OUTSTANDING! Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in Boston in a while. First off, service was great. Every person was so nice and checked in often. We started with two of the house cocktails which were both beautiful and tasted great. We shared a lobster bisque which came with unreal croutons and had tons of lobster pieces in it, and was the perfect size to share for an app for two. I had the spaghettini for my entree & my BF got the seafood rice. Both had amazing flavor and were unlike anything I’ve tried. Such a unique twist on your classic seafood restaurants. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on the menu! And to top it all off I got this cute birthday card & a scoop of lemon sorbet which was so thoughtful!

Google
The Pearl is a true gem in the seafood dining scene. It’s an upscale restaurant that seamlessly blends ambiance, exceptional cuisine, and an inviting atmosphere. It’s hard to find a place that excels in all three, but The Pearl delivers on every level. A special shoutout to Adam the outstanding bar manager, who curated an incredible bar experience for me that made the evening truly unforgettable. I’ve been back multiple times ever since. And to Chris, whose professionalism and attentiveness elevated the experience. As a Boston Landing resident for over three years, I couldn’t be happier to have The Pearl in the neighborhood. This restaurant is more than just a meal, it’s an experience not to be missed. Don’t pass up the chance to taste greatness. Top 2, and not number 2.

I’m truly disappointed with the experience my group and I had at this restaurant. What was meant to be a celebratory graduation dinner for eight turned into a frustrating evening. The service was extremely slow — our drinks took over an hour to arrive, and the food took even longer. To make matters worse, we were all charged a “delivery fee,” despite dining in at the restaurant. By the time I noticed, my card had already been charged. I brought it to the attention of one of the owners, and while they gave me a receipt indicating a refund had been issued, it has now been a full week and I have yet to see that refund reflected in my account. I made a point to support a Black-owned business, but unfortunately, this experience felt more like being taken advantage of than being appreciated as a customer. My entire group left disappointed, and what should have been a special evening was overshadowed by poor service and unresolved billing issues.

Yelp
Never been to their South Bay location but this new location in "Boston Landing" (Allston / Brighton area) was pretty nice. Grabbed a drink beforehand next door at Broken Record Beer Hall to pregame after looping around a few times in the plaza to find some street parking (there was a sold out concert the Saturday my friends and I went). There are also multiple garages with $20 pricing. Food was good (upscale seafood restaurant so prices are a little high). Staff was very friendly. Restaurant is new so very clean / modern. The restaurant itself is not that big so recommend making reservations ahead of time. I'd suggest making adding some more options to the dessert menu to make it more interesting.

Yelp
Nice looking venue and friendly staff but service was very slow despite few patrons and an excessive number of workers. Had a fish sandwich that was not great and the soggy burnt fries didn't complement well. Hope they can get their act together...

Yelp
Really cute spot.. we came before a concert, and it was actually a "pre concert meet up bar" but they were not prepared. They had 1 bartender and their menu has complex cocktails, it just wasn't going to work. The espresso martinis were great and so was the food. I enjoyed the cabbage.

Yelp
Newly opened in Boston landing, the sister restaurant original location is in Dorchester. Staff was super friendly. The inside is a bit smaller than expected but very nicely laid out. The bar is the focal point and takes up the center of the restaurant. The best dish was the mussels. Although a bit salty, the sauce was flavorful. Mussels were excellent Skip the Gnocchi dish. Dry and flavorless. I couldn't finish it. Unfortunately, it was a huge miss for me. The daily crudo was scallop with mandarin oranges. Not a huge fan of the pairing. It has potential but not a combo I would get again. The whole fried fish itself was good. It came in a bed of some kind of coconut sauce that also didn't seem to line up with the fish. The staff is great. I wanted to love the food as much as the staff. Unfortunately this was a big miss for me. I don't think I will return. There are too many other options for great seafood in Boston and this was just not for me in terms of the food.

Yelp
I have been waiting for the Pearl to open at Boston Landing for a while now! So glad to have a great Black owned business on the block. I have visited the Pearl in Back Bay multiple times and always enjoyed myself. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how much bigger and more spacious this location is, which made me happy. The bar is still a big focal point, but there's also room to move around. The service was good. Our serve was kind and also prompt. For dinner we had the burger and the server recommended the Statler chicken. The burger was good. It was a nice size and not dry. The fries were also plentiful and hot when served- they were pretty good. The Statler chicken was great! The chicken was a nice size and was pretty juicy. It's easy for chicken breast to be dry, but I thought they did a good job on the cook time. The yams were really good and I wish there were more. The kale was sautéed well, and the sauce paired really well with the food. Overall, I really enjoyed the chicken. My only gripe is while sitting next to the kitchen, I noticed the person handling the plates to send out to customers also touching other things that weren't food, so I recommend not touching anyone or anything if you're handling food/plates and/or wash your hands frequently- it's an open kitchen so folks are watching. There's also a really great event space on the other side of the restaurant with its own bar and bathroom, so consider booking for events! Overall, I recommend coming to try the Pearl. I enjoyed myself!

Yelp
We went to have dinner on a weeknight and there were very few customer in the entire restaurant, so very low traffic. The menu offered limited options, which would have been fine if what was served was good. I picked the stuffed salmon, which seemed to be the highlight of the menu. The salmon was undercooked and runny with an overload of peppercorns. The taste of the mashed potatoes and beans was powdered. When you pay $38 for a salmon dinner, you expect it to be of a certain quality. The server never checked in to see how the food was. Overall, an outrageously priced restaurant for low quality food and service. We read the reviews before going. Looking back now, it seems many reviews are fake or from not real customers.

Yelp
This was my second visit to this location and unfortunately it only got a tad better. Service was much better but it took a long time for drinks and food. Everything looked great but was bland. Bisque felt like leftover stock from what they gave my neighbor for their lobster dinner. Clientele from their flagship location may feel that this is a seafood experience while I felt that the check was not even worth the experience. I'm sorry for being so negative, but I will not recommend or return.

Yelp
The Pearl restaurant open a new location in Allston, great food & wait staff. Restaurant decoration was marvelous w/ high booth table and bench. Definitely would come back to this restaurant and share this with my friend Hi Winder

Yelp
Amazing food every thing was delicious, great atmosphere and friendly staff! I had a dinner for my birthday and the food was incredible. The waitress was extremely accommodating and decor is very sheik down to the fabulous scented lotion in the restrooms. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I always come here for drinks and oysters and I always have a great time! They always play good music and sometimes has a DJ. Also the staff is always so lovely.

Yelp
I recently went to The Pearl the location in Brighton. Parking was easy there is a parking lot attached to the building that the restaurant is located in. My server was very nice and attentive. Now for the food, the crab cake was delicious, I also got the ribs appetizer they tasted good but tasted even better when I brought them home and warmed them up. I think they were served a little too cold, maybe the owner could fix that if he/she is reading this. The salmon dish was cooked to perfection and delicious enjoyed every bit of it. The over all ambiance of the place was great I went just as it opened so there weren't a lot of people there at the time. I really do believe this place has potential with a few changes here and there to the menu as other people have said. Even though I had a good meal the place left me wanting for something.

Yelp
First ti.e I had their food,I was obsessed, and so is the second and third times... one day, I ordered about $200+ and stocked my fridge to eat for several days. After having so much of it, I had to stay away for a while. This was 2 years ago. Today again I'm back to loving their food but I won't do too much of it ever again like I did before because then I won't be able to stand it for a while. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is amazing. They are always fully booked though so if you want to go on a weekend, you need to book ahead of time or they won't have reservations available.

Yelp
This is our second visit to the Pearl. The food is visually appealing and the tastes were superior. As returnees we were delighted. Our friends agreed. Sophisticated, friendly atmosphere. I can't wait to return. Salmon, mussels, crab cakes, spring Caesar salad, fried fish on brioche were savored.
