The 12 Must-Visit Restaurants in St. Pete-Clearwater | Eater

"Moroccan specialties like lamb or chicken tagine are some of the most raved-about highlights of this Gulfport fine dining spot, with head chef Karim Chiadmi whipping up plenty of seafood dishes to match. Their motto of “fresh fish or no fish” also meshes with the restaurant’s ever-changing selection of game meats, depending on what’s available. That means you could see camel, elk, or ostrich on the menu, if you catch them at the right time." - Stephen Rubino

If you’re searching for an exceptional dining experience look no further than The Pearl. This Mediterranean-inspired restaurant offers a culinary journey that’s both refined and welcoming. On our recent visit, we were fortunate to enjoy the seafood Wellington special, a masterful creation that showcased the chef’s expertise. The flaky pastry encased a medley of perfectly cooked seafood, complemented by a delicate sauce that elevated each bite. Equally impressive was the pasta with salmon; the linguine was al dente, and the salmon was seared to perfection. Although the beef Wellington was unavailable that evening, Chef Karim graciously assured us that it would be prepared for our next visit. Such personalized attention speaks volumes about the dedication to guest satisfaction. While we were too full to indulge in the desserts this time, the dessert offerings looked absolutely delicious. The Pearl is a testament to culinary excellence. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Wow! Went outside my comfort zone to try this restaurant and it was amazing. The staff were so kind and helpful even with how busy they were. They gave great recommendations but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything you order. We got the Lamb Tagine and the Harissa Chicken and they both came out piping hot and delicious!

Google
Indoor and outdoor seating is available and the restaurant is quite charming. Let's talk about what really matters and that's the food. Chef Karim and his team know how to season and bring the flavor to the dishes they serve. This restaurant has meat and vegetarian options and they're menu is Morrocan inspired. I can't wait to go back and fit those that like different game meats, they have a selection here that you might enjoy! They also dry age their own delicious steaks right there and it's out on display like picking your own lobster!!

Where to start ! Exceptional throughout our dinning experience . Waitress attentive and knowledgeable of all Dishes to recommend and guide . Delicious wine list ! This place is an absolute hidden gem ( or pearl ) … Everything was delicious well seasoned and beautifully presented . We could eat all as portions so generous ! We can’t wait to book again …

We had a small group of of eight for dinner, and we were tucked away in the corner. We had a nice little table but it was still a bit noisy. But the food and service more than made up for it. We all had excellent meals and the appetizers and entrees we're delicious. You would not think looking at the little strips on her where the restaurant is located would imply that it was such a fine dining establishment. They also had exotic meats such as came,l bison, venison and others. Our server was also very attentive and we had no issues with her whatsoever. The two photos are of my wife's salmon dinner, which she thought was excellent and my unbelievably delicious double pork chop. It was huuuuge and half of it went home with me. The desserts were scrumptious and I suggest trying the beignets, if you are familiar with them from New Orleans you have never had them like this before.

Google
Excellent food, service was fantastic and chef is so talented. We had Halibut Tangine, Lobster linguine, Mediterranean Pasta and Lamb Loin...everything was incredible. Oh yes, and the cheese stuffed dates were wonderful as well.

Google
Got the Veal Florentine and could not have been more disappointed. Food lacked any seasoning, the veal was tough and overcooked, the sauce tasted like gravy from a tv dinner. Im honestly surprised that a place that says its fine dinning cannot find the time to even salt their food. Save yourself some money and get a Salisbury steak tv dinner.

Google
WOW!!! What a great find while we vacationed on the beach. Octopus appetizer was the best we ever had, flavorful and tender. Every single component to our dinner exceeded our expectations including service and price. I promise you we will be back. Thank you Pearl for enhancing our vacation.

Yelp
I was not expecting such a good Mother's Day meal when I went here. Everything was fresh and you can tell they were breaking down all of their own ingredients in the back or they were as close to farm to table without having the ranch behind the restaurant. Started with a Casa Blanca beer from Morocco as you do in a Moroccan restaurant and it tasted like a full bodied light lager similar to an asahi super dry. With the appetizer we went with the bacon wrapped dates and the tuna martini. The dates came and were sweet and nutty with a hint of the jalapeño flavor and creaminess of the goat cheese. Overall really good but I did want a little bit of texture of like a walnut or an almond to add a crunch to it. Still it was really good and came on a lightly dressed tomato onion salad. The tuna martini was delicious sushi grade tuna with a couple sauces and caviar topping a vibrantly green seaweed salad. Would recommend this as well. In between the apps and entrees we went with the bread and oil and the salads which were dressed with what seemed like a peanut dressing but different and Maybe some mint mixed in? Very much so enjoyed that. I decided to take a walk on the wilder side and went with one of the wild game meats for the evening and the Camel was in. I've never seen camel on a menu before and didn't even know people ate it or and if so if it was something that should cooked through like pork or to temp like a beef. But it makes sense when you think about what you have in the sahara. Anyway would definitely recommend getting the camel if then have it. I would liken it most to a roast beef and it cooks like beef as well. It came in a complex sweet and savory gravy showcasing a depth of flavor with the Moroccan spices. Sides of mashed potatoes with maybe squash and carrots blended in, asparagus and broccolini and 1/2 a pepper with a baked bread crumbs that made it a great twist on your traditional steak dinner. Dessert was an amazing butter tart Al a mode with home made vanilla ice cream, walnuts and a butter scotch syrup drizzle. I'd say get some help eating it or just bring a shot of insulin to keep ya going. Really one of the best desserts I've had in a while. And then no meal is complete without the night cap to finish it off and that's where the kronenbourg entered for that crispy beer you can drink all day. Service was great and everything came out quickly considering it was being made fresh and to order. 5/5 would recommend to a friend that wants a taste of Morocco and expand their palette

Yelp
It's a cozy place, the service was just okay, but I became very sick after dinner. The salad was drenched in dressing, the bread was so stale that you could use it as a weapon, and the smoked salmon pasta was also swimming in a sauce. After we left the restaurant I got a heartburn that was so bad that it sent shooting pains through my neck to my head and to my back. I took Tums, Alka Seltzer, and Famotidine, but it did not get much better. Today I am still in pain and cannot eat.

Yelp
The service was great! Our server was attentive for most of the evening and accomodated the changes we asked for with a great attitude. The stars I have given are because oif her. The food was ok, not great. So many people had raved about theis place and i want to support small business always. I would not come back for the food at all.

Yelp
Excellent food! The menu is creative and offers some entrees that you won't find anywhere else! Tagine- so cool. And camel wow never saw that before. Although no one in my party tried the "new to us"entrees, I think we'll feel more adventurous the next time!! It's a really nice place to go.

Yelp
My husband brought me here for a birthday celebration and I wanted to love it for that reason. I had anticipated something much different than it was. Atmosphere is just ok. I didn't care for the open kitchen concept and the big TV in the middle of the room doesn't belong at all. There was a limited holiday menu that didn't have many choices for me being a little bit of a picky eater. Our server was friendly and took our drink and food order at the same time. The wine pour was decent and my husband's soup came out quickly. I ordered the short ribs, which came with bread, a salad, mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. The salad was served quickly too, and I was starting to feel that they wanted our table turned over even though there were plenty of empty tables. The salad was so watered down that I barely ate any of it. Truly disappointing. The bread was delicious. No sooner had they taken the salad away and my entree arrived. Definitely feeling rushed at this point. The short ribs were good, but they were so fatty that there wasn't a lot of meat to enjoy. The flavors were great, but again, disappointing. We were done with our meal in 50 minutes. Very unlikely to return.

Yelp
Atmosphere - Just OK. Based on the menu and the few pictures of the inside, I had the impression that the restaurant was more upscale. Located a few blocks away from the main area of town, the restaurant has a combination of four tops and booths. It is dark and the furnishings are nothing special. Service - Excellent! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Food - Just OK. I had the lobster bisque as a starter. It was just OK. The broth was thin and a bit bland. There was a sparse amount of lobster bits. I ordered the Rack of Lamb at a medium cook. As you will notice in viewing the picture, two pieces were cooked correctly. However, two were beyond even medium well. The flavor was good, but also a bit bland. Overall Value - Just OK. The prices are reasonable and the service great. With just a few modifications to my meal, the experience would have rated 4 stars or higher.

Yelp
Came here as part of a celebration and wanted to try a more local place. Could not have been more disappointed in the food. The burrata and prosciutto were good but unfortunately thats where it ends. Nothing was seasoned, from the house made Ceasar salad dressing to the seafood or veal. Some of the seafood was cooked well but lacked any flavor. The veal florentine was tough and overcooked. The gravy had globs of what tasted like frozen spinich in it. Nothin was salted. Nothing was seasoned. The only added flavor to the food was the oil they cooked it in. The staff seemed unbothered and like the couldnt care less about this feedback. The waitress saw us barely touching it and vanished for the remainder of the night. I had to wave down someone elses server so we could pay and leave. As for ambiance it was whatever. Its a fine dinning spot connected to a foodmart. The booth we were sat in was falling apart.

Yelp
Came for the Early bird specials and we'll definitely return to check out the rest of the menu! We ordered the BBQ pork ribs for $18. It included some mashed potatoes and veg. Also a tasty salad and bread as well. For the price and quality received, it's an easy home run. And the $6 happy hour bourbon cocktail was just perfect. With an inviting atmosphere and well-trained service, it's an impressive restaurant start to finish.

Yelp
Marissa was our waitress, and she was welcoming and very informative! Thank you for all the suggestions we ended up at the Pearl, it was delicious escargo and shrimp cocktail with amazing bread for appetizers we shared at bottle of sauvignon blanc for entrees he chose 1/2 duck with orange sauce yummy and I had lamb filet melt in your mouth amazing! We shared a donut hole sundae for dessert! we had the patio to ourselves it was a very enjoyable evening!

Yelp
Definitely recommend bringing your own caught fish (byof) and chef will make it so delicious family style. great service too! outdoor and indoor seating are wonderful

Yelp
Just went to The Pearl in Gulfport for dinner . Highly recommended! Great service , tons of interesting menu choices and great food. The duck liver pate amd French onion soup appetizers were delicious . We also had the fish tangine ( wonderfully spiced and expertly cooked) , pork chop ( delicious and probably 3-4" thick) and the curried scallops pasta dish which was yummy as well. We will be back!

Yelp
We came on a Friday night no reservation. The hostess was nice, the waitress was nice. Waitress was knowledgable and prompt. The food was just so nice. Ambiance was good music was at a level that allowed you to have a conversation without constantly yelling "what!?!" The food was great! The menu was not wild but everything was done well. We had fried artichoke and escargot for appetizer, amazing recommend both. Salad was very good the house dressing is the way to go. Split the Moroccan sea bass and the lamb. Both of these were cooked to perfection. I mean it's rare to find a place that cooks both fish and lamb correctly. Everything was seasoned to proportion. I don't have a negative thing to say about this place. Enjoyed fully and walked away very full.

Yelp
Great gem ducked away in Gulfport. Wonderful outdoor seating for this weather. Great wine list, wonderful service and fabulous food. 1 note. You must save room for dessert. Sadly, I didn't (Softly weeps).

Yelp
This is a delightful restaurant at the edge of Gulfport, in fact because it's not on the main strip we've missed knowing about it. It is a great find! It's casual but a touch of class with white tablecloths and dish and glass settings. The food is Mediterranean and Moroccan. They have a very good wine and cocktail list. The menu covers a lot of ground. We started with the Tuna Martini, which was fresh Ahi tuna marinated in Pearl vodka and spicy hot sauce. It's served in a cocktail glass over seaweed and the plate has a wonderful sauce and wasabi. It's pretty special and delicious! We also had the escargot which was in a herb butter garlic sauce. This and their fresh bread could have been a meal! The menu has an interesting section for wild game, such as Camel, Bison,Antelope, Elk, Venison, Buffalo, And Ostrich! My wife had the Mediterranean pasta with added shrimp. It was terrific and so large we'll get another meal later! I had the shrimp Pil Pil, which was large shrimp sautéed in in olive oil, garlic, and herb Harissa butter. I thought I'd be taking some home but could stop eating it. We shared a cut of lemon cake which was a delicious end of our meal. The menu has many other foods we want to try, like the fish tagine. Anna was terrific in explaining the menu and provided great service.

Yelp
Delicious food all around and attentive, proessional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. We had the stuffed date appetizer and wisely got 2 orders, otherwise we would have been battling over them, since they were so amazingly good! Combination of smoky, sweet, savory and creamy with a bit of tang. The Pearl has a large selection of game but it was too pricey for us to try (over $50 for camel, raised in Texas). Their Moroccan dishes are a specialty and unique for the Gulfport/ St Pete beaches area. The lamb tagine was incredibly delicious, very tender and flavorful. I'm enjoying the leftovers for lunch today. Only thing that could be improved from the food we ordered was the chicken harissa. Although the flavor was great. The chicken bread was a bit dry. Would have been better with boneless chicken thighs or breast with bones in. Very nice wome selection as well. Atmosphere is too dark. A bit loud when busy, and art not to my taste but overall a 5-stsr dining experience. We'll be back!

Yelp
Excellent food! Terrific early bird deals. Everything made in house including fabulous salad dressing (not something I usually get excited about!). Always make a reservation.

Bill M.

Yelp
Although located in out of the mainstream strip center in Gulfport, this place is a jewel in the industry. In addition to an incredibly varied menu. It focuses on customer service and has an abundance of very skilled and extremely friendly staff. The food is prepared and presented beautiful. At 6 o'clock. on Saturday, it was comfortably full with a steady stream of customers coming and going. Everything from the duck to the seafood was spectacular. Our waitress Maddy was extremely knowledgeable with great recommendations. We will be back !

Yelp
Stunning difference to previous Treasure Island location. First off, not only the loudest restaurant we've been to this year; it's the loudest place we've been to this year! Conversation difficult. Second the menu is extremely limited compared to previous location. Not sure if this is just a holiday limited menu or now the regular menu, but lot of previous star favorites no longer on menu. Service was very slow, but perhaps bc of holiday busy. All told not near up to previous location, but still can get delish fish tangine as long as you pack your patience.
google avatar

Yelp
Their daily earlybird specials from 4 PM I believe till 5:45 is outstanding! Give it a try. Although all of their meals are very, very good!

Debra B.

Yelp
This special occasion restaurant has early bird weekly specials that make your weekday special. We had mahi and a filet - smaller portions to be sure - but served with salad and bread which made for a perfect meal - flavorful with exquisite presentation. Other specials included cheese manicotti, Mediterranean meatloaf and chicken tarragon. Discounted drink specials too. We'll be back.

Pamela C.

Yelp
My friends treated me to a birthday dinner tonight. We did go early for the Early bird Specials which are always very good and, of course, very reasonably priced. I ordered a Mahi dish from the specials menu. Mahi is usually a mild, flaky, tender fish. I was served a very dense, tough fish. I managed to eat about half of a small serving. The green beans that accompanied the dish were delish! The bread was NOT!!! It was a bit more like the mahi! When the waitress came with the bill I asked if the fish was really mahi and voiced my concerns. She responded "of course it is mahi...you should have said something sooner and I could have brought you another dish". At the time I was a bit confused with her response and I didn't realize that...not once after we were served did she come by and ask how everything was!!! Presenting the check was the first opportunity I had to present my issue. It was just disheartening to me. The Pearl is definitely an upscale establishment here in Gulfport and I would expect a better experience.

Tessa L.

Yelp
Fabulous options for fine dining appetizers and entrees; I brought a party of five for a celebration dinner and everything was perfection. $$$$ I came back during the week and tried the Early Bird choices; they were just mediocre. I would have preferred to just order an appetizer than the Early Bird dinner. The white Sangria was delicious but a little overpriced for the pitcher.
google avatar

Samuel G.

Yelp
So happy I found a Moroccan spot. Service was great! Restaurant is in front of a little park with a walking trail perfect for a stroll before or after dinner. Service was great! The food delicious and if you are looking for a dish out of the norm ask about their meat specials. Going to go back to try camel!
google avatar

Yelp
We took our newly engaged daughter and his family to dinner here last night. Service from Chef Karim sin was impeccable! The young bus set was right on top of everything never let our glasses empty Tried the special of a seared pork chop topped with gorgonzola..... out of this world good If i could give 10 stars i would! Amazing food and Staff!!! Highly Recommend

Tom D.

Yelp
This is a very nice restaurant with good food and nice atmosphere. My wife asked for a Ceasar salad instead of a house salad and was charged an additional 10.00 upcharge. This seemed a little excessive so we questioned the charge. When we questioned the additional charge they lowered it to $5.00. Their explanation was they have good quality food. The Ceasar salad was nothing different than you would get at any other restaurant.

Yelp
We have enjoyed The Pearl several times and did again this week. Food was prepared well and with all the specials, the menu had something for everyone. The one drawback was our cocktails. Limited choice of mixed drinks and previously we had a very good Manhattan but this time, 3 out of 3 drinks were poorly made, tasted of little alcohol and obviously not made by an experienced bartender. Next time, we will have a drink at home and then go enjoy the food and wine at The Pearl.
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
We ate here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We really liked the place. The service was great, and the food was very good. We went back about a week later to try the early bird, and it was terrible. My wife ordered the fish dish, which was probably less than four ounces of fish. I ordered a pork based stew, and that was also very small. Worse though, was the pork tasted like something coming out of a can. I would suggest, if you go, don't get the early bird specials.
google avatar

Samantha E.

Yelp
One of the best meals we've had in the area. We've been twice and both times service was great and our meal was excellent. The scallops appetizer was delicious, but the stuffed dates were really outstanding and some of the best I've ever had. The menu is quite varied. They have a wild game option - my husband has had the camel twice and said it was fantastic. I had the lobster pasta once and really enjoyed it, but the fish tagine is one of the best things I've ever eaten and I absolutely plan to get it again next time. I'll be happy any time we end up here for date night.

Yelp
We had been here before at the previous location and had a good experience. Our friends were visiting and one of them loves all kinds of game meat. So when she saw an ad for the Pearl she became excited to try camel. We called ahead and had to wait a week but we did get in when they had some in stock. Unfortunately, it was as tough as shoe leather and for more than $50 quite a disappointment. They did offer to bring another entree protein but by then she wasn't hungry enough. The high point was the ahi martini appetizer which was quite a gorgeous and delicious dish. We loved the seaweed salad at the bottom also. Highly recommended. Three of us had the early bird specials and the salad was wonderful but the salad dressing wasn't quite as flavorful as I hoped. Server was mostly top notch but couldn't seem to tell our guest ahead of time if she was going to get Au gratin potato or mashed potatoes...we got the feeling that this place is like the French ...chef cooks you a nice meal and you take what you get. Overall I was disappointed. I don't understand how anyone could serve up meat that tough. I recommend they try some wine or other tenderizer... I took it home and will mince it down and put it in soup. Hate to waste! We really liked the ambiance. We came early and watched the place fill to overflowing over the next couple hours. The happy hour special was a glass of wine for $5 and it was absolutely delicious wine. No merlot option at that price but still great. Thanks for that!

Yelp
Oh my gosh- this place is amazing!! I found this place on Yelp actually. I wanted to pick a romantic date night place with good food and so I wanted to give this restaurant a try based on the menu and reviews! First off the ambiance was so romantic and cute! The tables have a candle light and there were Christmas lights around. Super cute! We were seated right away and given menus. Our waitress was one of the best waitress ever!! She refilled my water on point, gave us more bread and olive oil without even us asking for more! After we got our food, she came over to check on us. Great service! I read some of the previous reviews didn't have the same great service we had so I was very grateful. As far as for the food itself- totally 5 stars as well!! The duck pate was delicious, rich and flavorful. The fried beef tips were tender and flavorful all on its own that I didn't even need the dipping sauce. I ordered the Lamb Tagine which was a great choice! The lamb had some really fatty parts but the meat was so tender, it was practically falling off the bones! The sauce and vegetables just bought the whole thing together! My boyfriend got the lobster pasta which was rich, creamy and also had good flavor. There were big chunks of lobsters in the pasta as well! This place was amazing and I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Moroccan Throwback The Pearl has been around for many years, previously on Treasure Island and now in Gulfport. The menu seems to be a mix of Moroccan and French food. It feels a bit like traveling back to the 1980's. There's no way to make a reservation online, checks are handwritten, servers aren't covered in tattoos... Some throwback practices are great here like bread service and completely composed meals with a protein, starch & veg. Happy hour wine is only $5 for a generous pour. We compared the $5 happy hour Cabernet to a $10 Cab on the regular menu and liked the happy hour one better. We started with an appetizer of the fig with cheese wrapped in bacon with a balsamic drizzle. I would have preferred Manchego cheese rather than the cream cheese that was a bit overwhelming, but it was still very good. There's an early bird menu that is quite nice for $15. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala with couscous and veggies off that menu. It came with a nice salad. For my main I had the Lamb Tagine off the regular menu which also included a salad. The tagine was a large portion with coucous, a wonderful gravy and lots of veggies. I would have preferred lamb pieces instead of the lamb shank that was served which was a bit fatty and a pain to cut the meat from the bone. I hope that they'll bring back a chicken tagine. Overall, it was a very good meal for a reasonable price. I'd recommend and return.

Jimmy N.

Yelp
Awesome lamb shank. Food & drink are quick to table. Server is very responsive & knowledgeable in his food. Location is great & very secluded. Love to come back

Yelp
Last evening the bride and I dined at The Pearl after it was recommended to us early in our trip....And boy it did not disappoint! Decorated Chef Karim has such a unique vision and the flavors were out of this world. To start, the bride and I split a bottle of Carmel Road. A really nice Pinot Noir that was the perfect accent for the flavors to come. We were served warm bread with a garlic oil as were we seated and we both really loved it. For an appetizer we split the special, Grilled Calamari Steak. WOW! This is a must try. It almost tasted like a massive scallop cooked in a tomato broth. I had no idea what to expect when we ordered it but it was out of this world. A fantastic start to the meal. Onto the entrees! I convinced the bride to order the lobster pasta because selfishly i had to try it! She LOVED her dish. The light sherry cream sauce paired wonderfully with the lobster and linguine. I had my share as well, and can confirm her compliments. I ordered the rack of lamb and my gosh what a fabulous meal this was. Juicy, flavorful, and a crust that will leave you asking for more. No room for dessert. What a wonderful dinning experience at The Pearl. We will be back for sure next time we are in Treasure Island!

Mik H.

Yelp
Disappointed. Open for Thanksgiving we dined in to not eat turkey, only to find most dishes we usually enjoy are sold out. So between a 48 dollar strip or a 100 dollar porterhouse, the NY strip was tough and chewy. Worst of all it came with stuffing. When you pay 48 for a steak, stuffing is really the last thing you want on your plate. We have eaten here often, and have been happy. But at 100+ per person, this was mediocre at best.

Shelley S.

Yelp
The 3 star rating is based on 5 star service. The food was a 2. If you're going in for "Tuesday Sushi night" do not. I repeat do not. We ordered the "signature sushi roll" which was delivered to our table in 2 minutes flat. It was ice cold and obviously made earlier in the day and kept in the refrigerator for hours. We also ordered the tuna poke bowl. They heated the scallops ughhhhh! We loved our waiter....but we will not be back...

Yelp
What a nice surprise in Gulfport! Change of pace from the casual bar and grill scene, Moroccan & French cuisine - no idea how authentic but it is definitely high quality and delicious. Coquilles St Jacques (scallops) were excellent as was the fresh catch tagine -sea bass when we were there. Wide variety of dishes to try on a return visit! Great wine list as well. Tucked away in a tiny 3-4 business strip along 59th St near Wood Ibis Park.

Yelp
Fabulous! Checked them out at their new location in Gulfport. Phenomenal food, impeccable service && an atmosphere that is classy yet casual.10/10 stars.

Yelp
Amazing Moroccan food! Flavors are really authentic, the wild game of the night was camel and it was exceptionally well cooked and really flavorful. Much better experience than we bargain for. The service is also impeccable, the entire wait staff was attentive and timely. Michaela was fantastic!

Yelp
Had Camel and it was amazing. This is easily the best restaurant option on Treasure Island. We will definetly be back.

Yelp
Went for Christmas at their new location and disappointed. The restaurant looked old and dark. Pictures hung crookedly on the walls, However, the food was good and service quick. But, for the price, we won't be going back,

Yelp
just had (another) amazing experience at The Pearl, 11/10! my brother is autistic, and it was his first time at their recently relocated Gulfport location for his birthday dinner -- the whole family can't say enough good things about this local gem! our server Malik even made a point to bring out both tasty versions of starch for the evening (for a potato fanatic, nonetheless ) as well as some extra dessert for a late birthday at the table. their early dining menu was especially impressive and inviting, served from 4pm-6pm Tues-Sat (closed Sun/Mon and must be seated by 5:30pm). the atmosphere was calm + off the beaten path *cue sigh of relief* but very elevated, and extremely welcoming. ask them about all of their beautiful wall art hand-picked straight from local artists in Morocco! with most prices sky-high and fine-dining consistency lacking in St. Pete, I highly recommend stopping in to The Pearl and enjoying all of the wonderful dishes + exemplary customer service they have to offer to our community! P.S. their morrocan specialties (unlike any other in the area) are to die for, Chef Karim & crew do it right! FOOD TRIED THIS VISIT & THOROUGHLY ENJOYED: mussels mouclade, fried artichokes, tuna martini, lobster bites, Pearl salads, filet mignon, spinach ravioli, fresh catch in lemon beurre blanc, pork Marsala, and Greek lemon chicken pasta -- all fresh & house-made!

Yelp
Lamb was killer, rest of food delicious. Newer server that was pretty bad, kind of dulled the whole experience. Parking sucks and then to see the staff coming out after close to one of the few non paid spots outside front door was bit ridiculous. Food saved their ass, will be back and hopefully service up to snuff.

Yelp
We have eaten here about 5 times now and have always come away happy. First, our server, Mikayla, is a true professional. Friendly, knowledgeable, fun & attentive. We've had many different dishes & they're all good: rack of lamb, duck, calamari, lamb tagine, sea bass tagine, etc. Desserts are terrific, too. They serve a nice side salad with their entree at no extra charge. That's a big plus. Servings are large & I often take half my meal home to have for lunch or dinner. The coup de grace? It's walking distance from our Gulfport home

Yelp
Best place for happy hour and early bird dinner specials. This restaurant is great and I highly recommend going to the early bird dinner instead of regular dinner. Save $ and get the same amount food.

Yelp
Excellent and personable service, delicious and diverse dishes, friendly and warm atmosphere, and top notch wine and drink menu. We will be back and highly recommend to anyone in the Gulfport area!

Yelp
This place is absolutely awful. The service was subpar. Our family has been coming to treasure island for over 40 years and have never experienced something so grotesque. After hearing another server's presentation nearby we quickly realized we were being profiled. We were offered the bare minimum and that is exactly what we got. None of the "good" food was offered, toppings, and extra small details. The bread was dry, the appetizer was probably the only good thing and even it could've had more flavor. We received salads and my significant other got hair in his. We received a halfway apology and that was it. The food didn't taste or even look fresh. All in all it was NOT a good experience. We didn't receive a discount for the food we didn't eat I.e. the hairy salad. The total was $90. I kid you not the pizza we had the following night could've passed for 5 stars compared to this place. We left a tip of almost 50% but we will NEVER go here again or recommend this to anyone we know. Side note: pretty sure we got food poisoning too because within just a couple hours we all felt horrible.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here on April 19, 2024. Service was TERRIBLE. We made a reservation after reading the wonderful reviews. We were seated immediately in the middle of the dining room. It took 10 minutes to have water poured and another 5 to be greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and an app which were served in a reasonable time and we ordered salad and dinner. 40 minutes after the app was served, the salads had not come, water glasses were not filled, and the server had not checked with us. WHILE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DINING ROOM. The head chef had a few favorite tables and ignored 90% of the patrons. An hour into our time we asked after the salads and were told the chef instructed the staff not to serve salads. After requesting that the manager check on our meals and discussing the situation, our meals were served, we have been there for 75 minutes. The food was good, but not particularly special. NO APOLOGY was offered and we paid full price for our drinks and meal. If you are not a regular patron, don't bother seeking this place out.
