We were the first customers as they opened at 11:00. On entering, the staff quickly and politely greeted us. They say us in a small table amongst the crowd of floor tables - it worked, but as a tall guy short tables suck!
Our server came to the table and brought water quickly. She took our drink order and had them on the table super fast. She took our order and it came in enough time for us to enjoy a bit of the ambiance and clientele as they began entering the restaurant.
From my observation, the restaurant was once a great place. Now, it is probably a great dive bar, better visited at night when you can't see its tired decor. Nothing fancy, just doing the job and not the best for food quality.
Sadly the wife and I ordered it exactly the same burger and drink. We both ordered white oak bbq burger. Interesting enough we were asked if we wanted the bbq sauce on them and hers had it and mine was dry! We weren't asked how we wanted them cooked, yet they were served so well done they were close to shoe leather. My wife had the German Potato Salad as a side and I had the fries. Her Potato Salad was more like soup and my fries were cold and soggy. It was a bust of a meal - strike 2.
Now back to the seating.... The majority of patrons went to the outside beer garden while we weren't asked nor did we know about on entering the restaurant. Hummm..... no for sitting inside, we were the only ones at a table for the first 20 minutes and staff decided to sit a group at the table behind us. Generally not a problem. However, there was so little room between my chair and theirs the patron continued to bum my chair until I repositioned our table so the both of us could fit in the space! Not comfortable!
In summary, i can't find the need to return. For as many bars and burger joints available, I can't justify a $50 lunch for less than mediocre.
I really don't like blasting a place, especially one that has great potential, but there is a ton to learn here before charging $50 for lunch and not delivering on the remainder of value.
