Pike Restaurant & Bar Review - Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Not to be confused with the outlet mall downtown with a fake roller coaster going around it, this Pike is a dive bar on 4th St. During the day, this nautical-themed spot is more of a diner, but at night it turns into a full-on live music venue with a great beer list, a low-key crowd, and a late-night food menu that goes till 1am. Drinking at The Pike feels like you’re drinking at a bar from one of those ’90s movie where everybody could break out into song at any moment simply because they’re having a good time." - Brant Cox

Older style outlet/mall located at the waterfront of Long Beach. Looked quite empty on a Sunday afternoon except for several chain restaurants along the street. Walked along the bridge and window shopped but didnt find anything worth buying. Bathrooms like others have said were closed or hard to find....great location but nothing really stood out to want to visit again.... 3 stars

The Pike Outlets in Long Beach offers a great mix of shopping, dining, and coastal vibes. With well-known brands, great food options, and a refreshing outdoor setting, it’s perfect for a relaxed day out. The waterfront location adds to the charm, making it a must visit spot in Long Beach!

All the shop keepers are generally nice and the view is great. There is a odor of dirty water and weed.

I tried to buy Nike shoes online, but the size I needed was either unavailable, too expensive (over $180 per pair), or the delivery time was too long. So I decided to visit the store instead — and I’m so glad I did! I ended up leaving with three pairs of shoes. The prices were amazing, and the in-store experience was totally worth it.

Happy the shopping is there. Great sales. Friendly service. Movies and Restaurants in walking distance. Hooters and Islands, the Lighthouse Park / Wharf are a great sight to see. I saw you could charter fishing, scuba and cruises as well. The Convention Center has an over the street path to make easy travel, with elevator's at both ends.

I had a fantastic time at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach on a Saturday evening. The shopping options were great, with top-brand stores offering excellent discounts. The dining choices were diverse and the food was exceptional. The vibrant atmosphere and live performances added to the excitement. The outlets were well-maintained and organized, making it a hassle-free experience. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and I highly recommend visiting the Pike Outlets for a fun-filled time.

We frequent the hotel nearby and love the walkable space with plenty of options to escape the conferences droopy, dulldrumming constant mind-numbing droll. DUELING PIANO BAR!

Google
You can be here for hours! So much to do! We walked the pier, crossed the bridge, ferris wheel 🎡, carousel 🎠, swan boats, food truck, aquarium, stores, restaurants, movie theater, boat tours, light house, yachts, ocean, so much!!! Loved exploring this place💙

Yelp
Parking is always a headache, but that's par for the course in L.A. country, so not holding that against the Pike. Once you find a place to park, there's A LOT to do from shopping to eating to just walking around enjoying a great Southern California day!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here because my hotel room wasn't available yet and was recommended to go here. There's a few big names like Levi's, Columbia and a few others here but not a huge selection. There is a Starbucks here and a few known restaurant chains like Outback where I ate for a late lunch and Chili's was right next door. The Ferris wheel is iconic and it was running during my visit. Overall, not a bad place to hangout. Near the pier overlooking the bridge. Cheers!

Yelp
THE PIKE OUTLETS is conveniently located across the street from the village, the aquarium and other cool stuff. The Pike has a large parking structure nearby. Great for shopping basics like school clothes, work out clothes, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
Right across the bridge from the Queen Mary. Didn't hit very many shops but Nike was a great find. Really discounted shoes. Joined their email list and got even more off. Easy Uber ride and pick up.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here around Halloween time and this is who I came across. There were many people wearing different outfits and a lot of people were scared too! It was super amazing that night and I love how there are restaurants so that after a long walk when I get hungry. I can stop by and grab a bite. They're still so much. I have yet to explore here, but just walking down. The pike outlets is really fun

Yelp
The Pike Outlets is an outdoor shopping mall that was remodeled in 2014. The most noticeable aspects of the Pike Outlets are its lit-up ferris wheel (which I believe costs $6 to ride) as well as a "rollercoaster bridge" that pays homage to the Pike's history as an amusement park several decades ago. A historic carousel is also operating. A Cinemark movie theater and a Laugh Factory comedy club provide other entertainment. Current stores include Columbia, Converse, Express, Forever 21, Gap, Guess, H&M, Hot Topic, Kay Jeweler's, Levi's, Nike, Restoration Hardware, and Sunglass Hut. Current restaurants include Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., California Pizza Kitchen, Chili's, Cold Stone Creamery, Famous Dave's, Hooters, Outback Steakhouse, P.F. Chang's, Starbucks, and others. I felt most interested in the restaurants rather than the stores. Several storefronts are vacant and are looking for tenants. The mall looks to be in excellent condition otherwise. Parking is available in a garage and at street meters.

Yelp
What is with places like this having parking blocks away. We parked in the suggested parking and walked down to the outlets, the place was practically deserted. None of the outlets really had anything worth buying anyway, it would have been nice to have some kind of store that sells long beach merch by the time we walked to the end, realized none of it was worth shopping at, and made it back to the car we already owed a huge parking fee. We ended up leaving and shopping elsewhere cause this was just not what we were hoping for
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
There's a big parking garage right next door and there's a cute variety of stores however, it is very small like you could definitely walk the entire thing in less than an hour. Other than that, it's pretty clean and spacious, and I don't really have very much else to say because it was so small.
google avatar

Nadia Q.

Yelp
A Ferris wheel and a mini outdoor mall outlet!!! You've won me over. I love The Pike Outlets. I've been here multiple times just this year. It's a special spot, that's still relatively secret I think. Did you know about it? Shopping- H&M Gap outlet Nike Guess Cotton on Forever21 Entertainment- Ferris wheel (cash only) Merry go round (they do take card) kids Choo Choo train Food- Lots of food trucks (I believe weekends) California Pizza Kitchen Starbucks lots of food spots across the street like- yardhouse, hooters, etc. Have fun! Lots of other things in close proximity. This could be a full day trip. There's the beach, the marina area, swan pedaling boats, and Long Beach aquarium. Mall parking is structured, and I believe you can get validated. So, I don't remember paying for parking!

Yelp
The pikes outlets are a nice outdoor shopping plaza with many big brand names! I personally have never shopped in one of them, however the location setting is one of my favorites at sunset! We used to visit this location to play Pokemon Go back in 2018, lots of people playing back then, not so many now. At around 5pm the sun starts to set, and paints the sky orange pink! Very nice view. You have the light house on the other side and more smaller food stores across. This is a nice place to walk on the weekdays, too crowded on weekends! My go to place to have a nice walk near the sea!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
Shopping plaza features a lot of stores that my family and I consistently shop at (with some items being cheaper than their stand alone stores). While parking -- even during a weekday -- was a bit of a nightmare, I liked that there were a number of offerings beyond shopping (ferris wheel and rainbow lagoon boats were within walking distance).
google avatar

Violet P.

Yelp
The Pike Outlets has a number of stores but not many. I stopped into most of the stores to check it out and found the Nike store had the best deals. All the other clothing stores had some discounts but not great. The stores were not crowded on a Sunday. The busiest shop was the Stone Cold Creamery! I'm glad as we enjoyed the ice cream. There's also a Starbucks that can get busy too. The restaurants are all easy to get to by foot so there's a good variety to choose from. We didn't ride the Ferris wheel but it looks great lit up in the evening!
google avatar

Sasha C.

Yelp
Usually a great time. However, today I was very disappointed to see the restrooms were closed! How are people supposed to shop comfortably or enjoy time out with their family when there is no restroom available? We asked an employee if we can use the restroom & they tried to send us to the restrooms on aquarium way, (which were absolutely disgusting and clearly not being looked after) just to get us to leave. We already have to pay to park in the parking structure and rarely receive parking validation from the surrounding businesses. Its very upsetting to see their lack of regard for us paying customers that help to keep their business' open. Of all days you choose Mother's Day to leave us hanging? Not cool Pike Outlets.
google avatar

Julia W.

Yelp
So much fun. They have Levi's outlet which we hit up for half priced Levi's. We also love the the area. Places to eat if things for kids. We also hit up the Sunglass hut for 40% off Ray Ban sunglasses. Next we were at H & M for some summer clothes then Islands for lunch! We want to try the Irish pub next!
google avatar

Gillian A.

Yelp
Fairly small outdoor shopping outlet with standard store fare. Only a couple of restaurants here aren't chain ones; The Auld Dubliner Irish pub is pretty good (I posted a separate review for it). Cool that the place is super short walking distance to the harbor. Wouldn't say that hanging out here would take up the whole day (it was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon with people doing quick shopping). Overall I recommend checking this shopping outlet out if you look at the directory on the website beforehand knowing which stores you plan to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
It's an alright shopping center. There's some restaurants, casual eateries, stores, a Ferris wheel, and a movie theater. It's nice to walk around if you're in the area for an event, but not really a place that I'd go out of my way to go to, especially since lots of these stores (T-mobile, Hot Topic, H&M, Forever 21, Starbucks, Waba Grill, etc) are easily found at common closer malls, with, obviously free parking. The lights near the theater are kinda nice and it's cool that there are bridges connecting throughout this area in Long Beach. Aside of the Auld Dubliner, none of the restaurants really stood out to me. Very quick walk through since there are much more interesting things in the area. Lots of the Christmas tree displays were knocked over/in a state of being destroyed and we did see some roaches near the planters too. Kinda eugh on that note to be honest.
google avatar

Ane V.

Yelp
My first time to be here and I am amazed with the shops and eating places as well as the ocean view. You get entertained while walking around. I would definitely recommend coming to this place.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Doors were locked when we tried to enter. When they opened the open the told us the deal which is great but every employee was right behind us like we were going to steal something. 2 parents and 3 kids. Not sure how we would steal anything. Maybe because we were a different color...
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to the pike numerous of times when I was much much younger & always had a good time. So it was a bit nostalgic returning to the pike after sooo many years. Fortunately we picked the perfect day to return. It was sunny but not too hot. There were a lot of people out but not too crowded. We spent most of our time in & out of various stores shopping. Stopped at a restaurant or two to get something to eat. And last but not least we couldn't leave without Riding the Ferris wheel. We really wanted to go to the movie theater located upstairs. For the first time in 4EVER. But didn't have enough time. Next time i'm in Long Beach at the pike I'll make sure to check that off of the list. All in all it was a pretty good day.
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Good assortment of stores and really good bargains if you search enough. It really helps that there are good restaurants nearby with the aquarium and a walkway to Shoreline Village within walking distance. As a local, I would prefer more indie businesses but if you're a tourist, you'll find many places familiar to you.

Kaori K.

Yelp
I love to hang out and eat the Korean food there !! And order beer there ! It's nice to take someone as you can just hang out !

Yelp
It was a perfect day a few weeks ago and we went with the entire family. it's a nice place to shop for a smaller outlet store and a nice place to visit Pro: A getaway place from the beach area, a handful of shopping stores as compared to a full fledged outlet mall, a more modern or updated store location with a picturesque feeling, out shopping with a dining or food places, nice to cross over the highway street on a fun to pass through bridge. Cons: a bit small for my liking since I am use to larger malls, wanted more quality stores, good discounts although looking for more. Please read through my other reviews by swiping across. Help me out by click on a few thumbs up below if you find this interesting and useful for new visitors into this area.

Yelp
First time checking this place out with the family per the suggestion of my boyfriend. It's definitely a small outdoor outlet of sorts with really only two retail stores that I was interested in going to with one being Hot Topic. I do enjoy the fact that we could park over here and then walk over to the other side where the aquarium is to get closer to the waterside. But there just really wasn't too much to do here while we were trying to kill some time.
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
My first time visiting and it's a pretty place to shop. There's a parking garage but I opted to park along one of the side roads with a meter, as I didn't plan to be there long. Only went to 2 stores. Might go back and explore more tomorrow. There's a carousel and ferris wheel just like Irvine Spectrum. Pretty neat for the kiddos. This isn't a big outlet mall like the other ones I've been to, but it's surrounded by restaurants and other shops near the Queen Mary in DTLB. I don't come out here often, but when I do, I like to see and do as much as I can. Will definitely return. However, beware of broken meters because the one I had wasn't working. It had 39 min left on it and I put in a few coins but the time remained the same. Set my phone timer on for 35 min so I had enough time to get back. I was sitting in my car when the meter maid pulled up behind me and I explained that I was omw out and that the machine wasn't working correctly. Thank God he let me go without a ticket. Said he was gonna have to check it. Phew!! Crisis averted!!
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
Outlet close to boardwalk. With Ferris wheel $6. Carousel $4. Food trucks. So many options to eat, take a walk, shop. Dintown and convention are just 5 to 10 min walk. Cotton On has the best prices $1 for Hard Rock t-shirt! Prices are ridiculously low! And it's cotton. GAP, Forever 21, H&M, Columbia (all winter stuff but it feels like summer, global warming!) . There's a nearby slide for kids and its really high. Outdoor Exercise equipment to work your arms and quads. Feeling safe here since i am coming from crimey San Francisco where looting, killing and muggung are so common.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the Pike aways a great place for date nights or spend the day with your other half..
google avatar

Nancy L.

Yelp
This place has a fun atmosphere. Lots of food trucks. Cool shops. Big theatre. Bring the whole family:

Diana C.

Yelp
I love the Pike Outlets. They have an Express store, H&M, Nike, Forever 21, Cotton on, La Michoacana, and a movie theater. They also have a bunch of taco trucks with various food options to chose from. They also have a Ferris wheel and you get a nice view of the bridge. It's only a $6 ride and you're on it for about 30 minutes. They also have a game store that sells a bunch of cool stuff. I bought a Hello Kitty cup from there. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Janna L.

Yelp
At least 4 good restaurants to be found here. Not as many stores as I thought there would be. Mostly clothing related. I checked out Express but that was about it. It was a lovely place to walk from downtown to Shoreline Village. Clean. Inviting. Dead though at lunchtime on a Tuesday. There was a Coldstone Creamery and a large movie theater, 2nd level. I just think it would be the perfect place for growth. SO many travelers and vacationers here. What about a skin care shop, luggage store, pharmacy? A modern, pretty place but a little blah!
google avatar

Cari R.

Yelp
I had to pay for parking $6. Other outlets don't charge for parking. So I dislike that aspect. But if you really need to come then I guess pay. I also got lost in the parking lot because it's confusing. So I was wondering around a while, very frustrating.
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
Came to Long Beach and was staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel which is located right across from the Pike Outlet. When I googled the outlet, it looked big and decent. To my surprise what seems like a big shopping area is actually really small. Not a lot of stores and actually it seems like there are only 3 stores and nothing else. I am guessing its just bad architectural design. Not wow. This is like going to an open street mall with just Gap, Nike and Forever 21. Yes I am serious! I was just shocked what I saw on Google was totally different from reality. The mall looked big. Parking probably took up a lot of space too. Across from the mall or diagonally across from Hyatt are a bunch of restaurants which is part of this mall. I would say it's nice to have a place to get food other than having that room service. I think they shouldn't call this mall an outlet. It just doesn't make sense.

Ronald H.

Yelp
I was downtown long beach last weekend and we shopped at the Outlets. We found some clothes, but the prices weren't what we expected to pay. We went to the pike afterwards and had a ball at tequila Jack's and the food was great I would try the Steak Fajitas .
google avatar

Yelp
Fun fact: The Pike Outlets is named after the Pikes Amusement Park. The amusement park was made to compete with Disneyland. It was open from 1902 - 1979. It had Ferris wheels, roller coasters, and bumper cars. It had everything. The amusement park does not exist anymore due to the lunging sales at Disneyland (which opened in 1955). It literally was competition at its finest and I'm sure the SoCal baby boomers have lots of stories about the place. Anyways, it is now Pike Outlets! It has many branded stores like Columbia, Express, Theatres, and restaurants. There is minimal street parking so I suggest parking in the garage or uber your way in. It's within walking distance from the pier, beach, hotels, aquarium, and all the downtown happenings. They also added a new Ferris wheel! Just $4 a pop will get a ride and a view to the city beach.
google avatar

Manda Bear B.

Yelp
Nice outlets, outdoor, with Nike, H&M, Forever 21, Express and more.... Alot of activities, night market for local vendors, food truck, carnival wheel for kids, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, arcade at the Shoreline Village, Pine Ave Pier, boat, jet ski, bike rentals here too. A good spot for family outing, but paid parking garage or street meter parking only!
google avatar

Remelyn U.

Yelp
This was my first time at this outlet and I would come back. There were a lot of stores I shop at in one place, such as Nike, Gap, H&M, Levi's, Hot Topic, etc. It is an outlet, so there are many stores with great sales. There's nearby attractions and food places as well. We went on a Monday and it was not busy at all.
google avatar

Ter L.

Yelp
Two stars because this pLace has potentiaL- it's just not Quite there yet. The Pike OutLets is an outdoor maLL so come in Layers during the winter and bring sunbLock during summer seasons. There are a good amount of eateries, a movie theater, but very Limited when it comes to the shopping aspect. Do yourseLf a favor and drive to CitadeL if you reaLLy wanted to do some waLLet damage. FYI- there is a huge Farris wheeL & some sort of roLLer coaster @ Pikes OutLet, I'm just not sure if it's in operationaL use.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
I visited this small outlet mall once before, when I was attending a large conference at the nearby Long Beach Convention Center. While the selection of stores does not approach the Outlets at Orange or Citadel Outlets, those malls are quite a ways away from Long Beach. Closer by is Del Amo, but that is far from an outlet mall. Parking is a good news/bad news situation. The bad news is that it is in a ticketed garage and is not free. The good news is that the stores validate and there was a lot of parking on a Saturday afternoon. Try getting that at Citadel or the Outlets at Orange!
google avatar

Francis B.

Yelp
They kick you out for taking pictures. They feel threatened by people with cameras? Not sure but that's what happened to my friend and I who were taking some pictures of our friends. Literally 2 guys with cameras, no lighting equipment or anything and we were told to hit the road. We were followed by security from the outlets, all the way to the aquarium to make sure we don't cause anymore harm to everything around us with our very dangerous life threatening cameras but hey I'm sure cellphones are fine, though I don't see why standard DSLR cameras scares them. Just a fair warning to fellow photographers.
google avatar

Gabe E.

Yelp
Have friends or family over and not sure what to do? Consider a day at the Pike outlets and treat yourself to a pair of new Nike kicks, or perhaps a chicken bowl at Wabba grill. Definitely one of my favorite places to hang in LBC. Make sure to review the various store offering before you drop by as the selection is rather limited
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
I actually love the Pike Outlets they are close to my home. I just wish there were more stores and more restaurants. Yesterday I was there shopping and a food truck that I follow on Instagram was there and I was really excited the food was fantastic #wedatfoodtruck from New Orleans . I have a complaint there's isn't very many tables & chairs with umbrellas of course. If there's going to be food truck the pike should accommodate us....
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Nice idea and good location. Would give it a five had the owners developed loading areas within the complex for potential customers with mobility issues. Not one of the most ADA-friendly sites out there. A decent selection of restaurants are available
google avatar

Ming C.

Yelp
Had a few hours to kill the night before our cruise. Walked around it was nothing but a tourist area. Could see from all the stages and planning this was but the heart of the race area each year. Luckily we were there a couple weeks before everything happened. Nothing special to say the least.
google avatar

Kristy N.

Yelp
Love what they've done to the place the past few years. They made the outlet shopping very simple. They do not have many stores, but definately has some popular ones, such as Forever 21 Red (insanely discounted), Nike factory, Cotton on, Express, and more. There are Lime bikes and scooters everywhere, making the area a nice place to hangout and cruise around with your family and friends. Across the street is a few chain restaurants, Famous Daves, Hooters, Chilis, ect. Hopefully in the future, I'd love to see a small food court, something with various incoming food trends hahaha.
google avatar

Sebastian C.

Yelp
Fairly small shopping center, but they have your basic essential stores, including Forever 21, H&M, and Nike. Sure, the stores are smaller in size, but they hold very good sales. If you get bored, you can just go across the street towards Shoreline Village or go towards Downtown on the other side. We managed to find plenty of parking in the street. Paid about $2 for a maximum of 2 hours.
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
I really like these outlets, they don't have that many stores, but there's more things to do around there. Right across you have the shoreline Village that has a couple restaurants and bars. Sometimes it's tough to find parking, which is the reason for the 4 stars. If you get your ticket validated by one of the stores, you et 2 hours for free, which is awesome. Overall, I recommend this place. I come here often with my family and whenever we have family visiting, we bring them here at least once.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
The Pike Outlets is an emerging shopping area, whose roots deserved around a * * rating, and new developments makes 'em average with a * * * rating, and I hope further enhancements earns them * * * * or even * * * * * It's headed in the right direction overall with solid improvements. Parking is somewhat easy. There's places to eat, 'tho nothing fast food or quick. There's a movie theater, as well as an H&M, Nike, Gap, and other clothing stores.
google avatar

Sharine d.

Yelp
Nice concept to watch a movie & have dinner. There are 4 or 5 large decent food chains to choose from. Shops are geared toward 20-30 age group. Not really shopping worthy. But, as leaving disappointed...saw they had Restoration Hardware across the busy street. This is a area that might get better with time. Better planning on quality of shopping choices...would improve the experience.
google avatar

Cara T.

Yelp
Shopping & Dining right across from the Convention Center. *Outside Mall*. Variety of outlet stores offer bargain hunters discounts on designer brands, clothing, housewares, & more. Many locations that include/ Converse, Nike Factory Outlet H&M, Cinemark Theatres, & a diverse mix of restaurants including Famous Dave's, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Hooters, and much more. When picking a place to eat I suggest that taking the beautiful high bridge to walk over to tour mall surroundings! The carousel ride looks like a lot of fun for the little ones! Located at Shoreline Village. The Ferris wheel is at the Pike Center. It was to undergo a makeover last July. But it was unclear if it has opened? We were there in the afternoon. However, seems like a wonderful attraction (especially at night) to a once considered theme park back in the 1900. Happy to have learned it's history & keep with some traditions that have remained even after the 1960's. Long Beach has done a wonderful job in creating an amazing outlet shopping center around such an iconic area.

John C.

Yelp
Ferris Wheel lights haven't worked for weeks. Carousel is dirty, vending machines have been out of order for months. They have a glass display case filled with trash. Wouldn't let my kids near it. How anyone buys ice cream at Stone Cold Creamery is beyond me, the windows are filthy. Nike store is great as is Levi's and Gap but overall this place is gross. Dubliner has good food but the outdoor space is filthy. The Laugh Factory looks like it's ready to fall down and the once nice fountain in front finally has water back in it but the fountains have not been turned back on. Overall, the mall is very clean although they waste an enormous amount of water power the streets.
google avatar

Sarena H.

Yelp
Great place for Family and Friends !! The stores, food, carousel and near by water makes this place a hit on the weekend. It's the perfect place for friends to fellowship , families to spend quality time or intimate enough for a perfect date night. I always stop by the forever 21 because unlike the mall you can park at the metered parking and immediately walk in the store; perfect access! Perfect place to bring out of town guest! The location is perfect right next to the aquarium, fantastic restaurants and the queen Mary. Long Beach is not a place I would live( horrible parking) but definitely throughly enjoy hanging out with family and friends ..
