Open since 1961, this North Side tavern‑style landmark turns out crisp, square‑cut pies with just‑right char and a loyal neighborhood crowd. It’s the kind of multigenerational spot locals recommend when you ask where to taste old‑school Columbus.

This place is a hidden gem. Antipasto salad was good with a generous portion on the large serving for a group. Pizza was good with the ability to split a round pie to have two different types. Draft beer selection was very good with several craft beers on only a few taps. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were very reasonable given the ample amount of food.

Recommended by a bartender down the road. Thankfully we listened. Fantastic pizza. Place was PACKED but we placed order for carry out and it was ready in 25 mins. I get my pizzas well done and it works perfectly with pies from The Pizza House. Medium pep and jalapeño and a medium pep with feta. Amazing pizza. Will return...sooner than later.

Heard about The Pizza House from a fellow foodie. The chefs here apparently "make the dough fresh every day, and sauces are made in house." That said, I had an expectation of traditionally good Midwest style pizza with the cupped pepperoni. 4 of us had ordered the 14" pepperoni and split the halves, one with banana peppers and the other with olives ($15.25 base with $1.75 each topping). Great value considering the other pizza shops can run much higher. The flour crust was excellent in taste, not overpowering on the oil. Pepperoni was crispy and greasy. The side toppings seemed quite fresh as well. Some paired it with a lager of choice, while I chose regular black coffee. Waited staff was friendly and enjoyable to deal with. Lastly the space was clean and represented a 90s theme decor.

Before you read, know that this is a 5/5 star place. Oh my goodness, this place just ruined it for me in the greatest way possible! The wife and I are on the quest to find what we consider to be amazing pizza. We have traveled to Hawaii, California, Florida and more places. This place, if you are in Columbus, you have to get the pizza!! We always judge the restaurants large pepperoni pizza and this has to be hands down, one of my top 3 favorite pizza places I have ever eaten at. We live 3 hours away, but if I’m ever back in the area, I’m coming back here!! The wife loved the “all in pizza” too, but man, the sauce, the toppings, the crust of the pepperoni pizza, I’m going to have dreams about this place.

Google
This place is AMAZING! The Italian Fondue is sooo good and the lasagna and sauce is phenomenal, and the pizza is so good. I don't rate a lot of things but this is more than worthy.

Google
The Pizza House is frequently listed as one of the best pizza places in central Ohio, so we tried it for the first time tonight. It was delicious. The crust was crunchy, and the sauce was amazing. We will be back and it definitely lived up to the hype. Our waiter was Kevin and he was very friendly and did a great job

Google
Great time visiting The Pizza House. This seemed like a “mom and pop” show and the feel (I.e. vibe) was nice. It’s nice to find a non-chain restaurant these days. The salad was huge and delish (Greek Salad, I added chicken). They have small 7-inch “Pee Wee” Pizzas for those that don’t want a large pizza pie. Good amount of parking. The waitress ran me down because our table forget the left over bags, and it was nice to see a worker care so much to run outside in the cold to take care of their customers.

Google
I am from outside Chicago and in town for a tournament. The reviews got my attention, so I tried your establishment. You guys did not disappoint. Amazing pizza. My daughter lived it as much as I did. I'm sad that we are not in town long enough to eat there again. We had a large pizza with ham, mushrooms, and tomatoes on it, and it was perfect. You guys do not go light on the toppings. If I ever come back to Columbus, I hope you guys are still around. Thanks for the great 🍕.

Yelp
This may be the best pizza in Columbus. It is so good. I have only had takeout and have only had the pizza but it's amazing. It's everything you want on Columbus style pizza- thin crust with cornmeal crunchy bottom, somewhat sweet but tangy sauce and just the right amount of cheese. I don't eat meat so I can't tell you about the pepperoni. It's hit or miss if you're gonna be able to get it when you're craving it because you can't order online. They don't deliver. You're lucky if you can get through to their phone line. If you do, the person on the other end is answering calls and dealing with the carry out line. It gets busy. It's worth it though.

Yelp
The food here is always good and consistent. The portion sizes are nice, we always go home with leftovers. The baked ravioli and spaghetti were both good. We've always had good service here and the prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
We have spent almost every Tuesday and Thursday evening taking our kiddo to wrestling at DeSales High School. TODAY was the first time we visited Pizza House. Now I know what everyone raves about! Service has been friendly and fast. We started with a large house house salad. We were served a huge bowl of lettuce with banana peppers, tomatoes, pepperoni and pepperinci around the rim, a bowl of croutons and a bowl of freshly grated cheese. Hubs and I divided the toppings we each wanted into the provided salad bowls. The cheese was a hit and we kinda fought over it. It was destroyed before I remembered to take a picture. While I wanted one of every entree on the menu, we were tempted by the menu photo of the All The Way Pizza. The crust was thicker than typical Columbus style pizza but not thick or deep. Every bite had a crunch. While the meat, mushroom, onion and green pepper toppings were plentiful, the sauce and cheese were not. In my husband's opinion the perfect amount of sauce and cheese complimented each crispy bite without making the pizza sloppy. We WILL be back. Thank you Pizza House!

To the lady at the front desk she was super nice and for this being my first time she was very polite and pleasant! I will be back!

Yelp
It's been awhile since the family and I had The Pizza House. The last time we ordered, we noticed the quality had suffered, but we didn't know why. So we took a long break from ordering from The Pizza House. Tonight we decided to give it another try...and sadly we were disappointed again . I believe we figured out what is happening. When they are extremely busy, the quality continues to suffer. The dining room was full of customers, the carry out line was long, but the staff is always friendly. We ordered a large pepperoni + sausage pizza. It was poorly made in our opinion, and it just didn't taste the same when we first tried The Pizza House 3+ years ago. ((exhale)) Welp, here we are again, back to taking another break. ‍

Jimmy B.

Yelp
Great experience and great pizza. We ordered a double pep and a pep and sausage. Both well done. Perfect crunch. 4/5 stars. Not the best I've ever had but very good pizza. We also got the fried ravioli and the boneless wings. Both very good as well. Customer service was top notch. The staff was on the go during the lunch rush and got to us as quickly as they could. Stop in and give it a try!

Yelp
Pizza House will definitely be one of your favorites. It's certainly one of mine, where everything just goes well. Excellent eatery and great people.

Yelp
A little wait no problem have a beer at the bar and chill. Ordered a pizza and a sub and another beer, wow loved the pizza thin crust, the sub was solid. Our server made us feel right at home. Great experience

Yelp
This is recent discovery of mine in my quest to find quick, casual dinner spots on the Sundays my older kid has youth group. I've never had to wait long for a table even though it always seems to be busy. The service here is quick and friendly. There's a strong nostalgic vibe here that probably has a lot to do with how long this restaurant has been open. My son loves the chicken tenders. He can be pretty pick about them, but he really likes theirs. I've mostly just stuck to the garlic bread and wedding soup, but the other appetizers I've tried have all been really good. If you're getting the garlic bread, sometimes it comes out really crispy. Like sometimes it feels like a giant crouton, but other times it perfect with crispy crust and pillowy inside. I just ask if they can make sure the bread doesn't get too toasted and it hasn't been an issue since. Otherwise I have no complaints. The food is great, I never go without a refill, and it's overall an amazing value for the very reasonable prices they charge.

Dolores B.

Yelp
Amazing pasta with meatballs. Salad was large with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Our waiter was a young man and very attentive. I would recommend Pizza House.

Dougbobb F.

Yelp
This gives vibes of old style Columbus pizza, like a few other places still around. I've only been twice, and I'm upset I hadn't known about it earlier. The combination of sauce (which has great flavor) cracker crust, and old world pepperonis is chef's kiss! Last time I added the Italian sausage and that was a nice additional flavor. Definitely at the very top of pizzas in Columbus. I think the thing that sets it apart is over the years some of the other family owned Pizzarias seem to have cheapened out on some of their ingredients. Nothing here tasted low quality. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out.

Yelp
If you like "old school" classic pizza this place is absolutely incredible. I've been eating here for years and it's always consistent... great service and great food. They have a small but adequate parking lot and a great for dine in or take out. The pizza has a slightly sweet and spicy sauce with cheese that stretches about a foot, which is always a requirement for me. These pizzas are also loaded with toppings.

Carol S.

Yelp
Was in the location tonight and overheard the owner yelling at a customer to never come back to there location because they have had many complaints about there food and the lady had a issue with her pizza because there was a fly on it and they expected her to eat it. In my opinion I would never talk to a customer the way he did. I ended up leaving and going to a different pizza place.

Yelp
The Pizza House is a neighborhood joint that has been around 40-50years. Still serving same quality food as ever. Beware: parking is bad, you have to sometimes park at surrounding businesses. They do NOT deliver. I know people that have moved away and will drive in excess of 50 miles to come eat here. Or when they return home for a visit will eat here every day. I can recommend the pizzas, the spaghetti meals the garlic bread. At times I get garlic bread and a bowl of meatballs for dinner. Fair prices. Service always great. Tiny dining room/bar usually full of locals, people waiting on food.

Yelp
It was another Italian night for dinner. Tristan was my waiter and did an excellent job tonight. Decided I would have Lasagna. Salad and bread came with it. Salad was standard bag salad I believe, the dressing was a small packet of ranch dressing by Marzetti. Bread was from Auddino's. On to the main course the Lasagna. The noodles were cooked perfectly, plenty of ground beef in the sauce which made it a little watery though. Still it was flavorful. Will return but next time it will be Pizza Time!!!

Larry Z.

Yelp
One of the best Pizzas, if not the best pizza in Columbus. It has an old-school vibe and and is always crowded. They all meat pizza had incredible flavor and was not greasy. The pizza sauce is out of this world. Try the garlic bread and sauce. Our server was super friendly and on her game.

Yelp
The Pizza House was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. We came on a Sunday evening and the parking lot was full. We had to wait a few minutes for a table. I asked Ashley if the wedding soup was homemade and she said it was and it was one of their best sellers. I ordered the wedding soup. My husband had an Italian salad with plenty of cheese. We also had the barbecue chicken pizza. The crust was light and delicious. Everything was tasty. Ashley was so polite and professional as a waitress. She was top notch in the industry. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
I have been going to Pizza House for my entire life and it's still as good as ever. Even on a Friday night when they are slammed and having a private party in the bar. The atmosphere is a solid, clean pizza joint look. Great service and friendly staff combined with excellent pizza makes for a great experience.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza in columbus. Thin, greasy, great crisp. Pizza that goes down way too easy. Small slices. Get the old world pepperoni. Their non-pizza food options are really good as well. Blast back in time if you dine-in, old building.

Vicki C.

Yelp
I just spent 45 minutes on a waitlist, when I asked how much longer it would be to be seated. The hostess told me she had already called my name. I explained that I'd been standing 4 feet in front of her for 45 minutes listening to EVERY name she called and she hadn't called my name (which I had spelled for her, so no confusion there). She argued that she had called my name and did I want to put my name back on the waitlist. Uh, no thank you. Been a customer for years, but will be hard pressed to go back. What a disappointment!

Lynette B.

Yelp
Excellent dependable authentic Real pizza Delicious pasta and antipasto We always order the antipasto whenever we order pizza
google avatar

Myra W.

Yelp
Another great lunch at Pizza House. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming. Pizza is always served piping hot. I am not a fan of sweet sauce - personal choice so I opted for the grilled chicken salad which is huge. The homemade Italian dressing is the best. My son and husband enjoyed their pizzas. They have a great lunch specials during the week. Our server Cari was amazing. Funny, warm and so efficient. Never had to ask for refills. Definitely worth the drive.

D H.

Yelp
Great pizza and service!! Salads are very good and so is the homemade Italian wedding soup!!
google avatar

Larry G.

Yelp
Good pizzas, great sub's, excellent salads, Service is more than adequate I over heard someone say that they are slow, but every thing is made to order. Pizza takes a while to cook. The prices are very reasonable. The inside is what I would expect to see for that kind of restaurant, nothing bad just not a fancy place. We eat there often
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Fantastic quality for a reasonable price! I would definitely go again. The wet meatball sub was delicious!

Ashley F.

Yelp
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! We love the pizza! I have yet to try a pasta or anything else because I love the pizza so much haha.... I hope to one day try something else. we live a LONG DISTANCE away, but are willing to travel to get it. It's that good. Staff is friendly which I really appreciate!!!

Yelp
Took mom to The Pizza House today after her doctors appointment. It was a rough day, but I have to give a shout out to the staff at the Pizza House. They are always nice and attentive but today they were so helpful and kind with mom. Our waitress was Jennifer today, who is always fantastic. And their hostess, who I realized I see constantly but don't know her name, is so sweet. Cari has been our waitress in the past as well, but she was t there today. Enough good things can't be said about Pizza Houses food as well. Their pizza is spot on. Mom had chili, which she enjoyed and a sub. Thank you Pizza House for making this a great visit.

Yelp
This Pizza is TRASH! Save your money and buy something else! It's Bland like it's missing something like sauce and seasoning. Total waste of time and money.

Yelp
From the moment my husband and I were recommended this place for great Italian pizza we knew that we had to go. The food was amazing. The service was excellent and the ambiance made us feel special.

Yelp
Holy moley! We have been searching for a quality pizza joint for a bit now on the north end of town. Sure we have had ones that r good. Gabby's, OH pizza and wings, Cheshire market, Borgatta... This is our first time getting carry out from here. Packed on a Thurs night but our orders were exactly correct and delicious. Better yet, they have thin crust and one that's a little thicker pleasing our different tastes. These are freaking loaded with toppings AND not soggy. I swear 2 12"pizzas weighed as much as a true Chicago deep dish. Sauce is great. All around great! Thx to the fine folk at Zaftig Brewing for recommending this place.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
The lasagnas I had just gotten earlier today is so delicious I haven't had lasagna in so long and this definitely hit the spot!!! 10/10 Will definitely keep coming since it's only 3 minutes away from my house lol

Ahmed E.

Yelp
Super hot tonight there .AC was barely on. Service was not on point tonight. The worse part was all the flies around the food attacking us. Garbage experience!!
google avatar

Yelp
Another place for pizza in Columbus. It has subs too on the menu. The Pizza House is a longtime favorite in the upper Clintonville neighborhood. Because it's been around so long, it obviously is better. You have to remember the mediocre choices around here though. Compared to the chain crap, it certainly is better. It's a longtime family owned business. They do things how they want. Accept it. They know better than you. Prices are good for what you get. They're cheap which is the main thing. Of course the food can taste cheap. You get what you pay for but it's not that bad though. I came in the last time and got a pickup order of pizza and subs for me and my boo. The quality was average but the prices helped make up for this. I had a Vegetable Sub and chips. It's about $6.50 for a footlong size. This comes with black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. Each time here the pizza has been slightly cold. That's when picking it up and we had to warm it at home. It overall isn't what I would call bad. Maybe dining in is better because you can sit at the bar and get drinks with pizza. That would be my choice the next time.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
We had apps ravioli bread and fried mushrooms all good Pepperoni pizza and everything pizza were perfect As always Service was better than the food THANK YOU
google avatar

Alexandra E.

Yelp
My husbands work buys this pizza for them every once and a while, so I was excited to try it. We got half pepperoni and half old pepperoni, with the traditional sub and a two litter root beer. All of that came out to less than $30. Great prices and great food! Way better than any mainstream pizza places! The sun had so much meat and the pizza had the perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni. The staff was super helpful and kid despite how busy they were on a Friday night. I liked that they had a a carry out side and a dinning side. I wish the carry out side had some chairs but I think it was a little to small for chairs. Definitely is now gonna be our regular pizza place!
google avatar

Victor G.

Yelp
The location is a little hidden, and it was super busy. It was really laid back and nice. The staff greeted us with a friendly smile and sat us at our table quickly. They have a great food selection. The pizza was great, but the sub was a little bland. Definitely will come back to try other pizzas and subs.
google avatar

Yelp
I've heard mention of the Pizza House having the best GF pizza in town, so I had to check it out. This adorable restaurant was packed when we arrived not much before closing time Sunday. The hostess was so kind, and we had to wait a bit, but they were very gracious about it. Our waitress was her mom, who was also so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a beer and glass of house wine, and then split a salad which was HUGE and ordered pizza. The server told us she prefers the thin crust GF pizza, but I wanted the thick crust because it's harder to find. I LOOOVED it! Loaded with topping, the sauce (my favorite part) was so delicious, it was easy to cut and chew (sometimes a challenge with certain GF pizzas) and it reheated the next day really nicely too. My boyfriend isn't vegetarian or gluten intolerant and he enjoyed it too. We really liked the ambiance, felt like stepping back in time a bit, I hope it never changes. We want this to be our new spot.
google avatar

Andrea J.

Yelp
Great pizza, but if you want to sit at the bar instead of in the dining room don't even bother going. The bar area has been closed off every single time I have went because that is where they put their big parties, instead of the dining room. As a single person, I do not want to sit in the dining room at a table alone, no tv, nothing to entertain me looking stupid. I won't be back....there are plenty of other places to get a great pizza and not have to sit alone at a table. It doesn't matter which day you go or what time. They should consider seating large groups in the dining room like every other restaurant out there
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
I believe I was 12 when I discovered the greatest pizza on planet earth. You can't get a poorly cooked anything from the menu. However, I can only attest to my experiences that still continue today . If you have a pizza pallet craving your heading to the correct place. 6 decades of premium food! No. I don't work there.

Dawn A.

Yelp
Great pizza. I crave it. The best I've found near Lewis Center. It is worth the drive.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
A ok place. Dine in on a Thursday, not real busy. Just a touch slow would be only complaint. Ice cold beer and glasses always a hit. We had the pie, regular house thin crust with pepperoni. It was wonderful, piping hot and large, plenty of pepperoni and decent balance of cheese and sauce. Not best around but definitely good. Fried mushrooms were over done and a little crisp but hot and large serving. Great prices and serve Pepsi too!
google avatar

Blake R.

Yelp
This is the first time I had food from The Pizza House and it was so good! They didn't have jalapeño poppers but they do have fried pickles and they're phenomenal. They're pickle spears and have the crunchiest breading. Their pizza is delicious square cute for a large. Also had the Italian sub which was large and filling. All very reasonably priced. Large pepperoni, small cheese, fried pickles and sandwich came out to $40.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Great family style, traditional, Italian food, especially the pizzas! You can never go wrong ordering that for which THE RESTAURANT IS NAMED. The service is prompt and attentive. Very nice, casual atmosphere!
google avatar

Shawn Deanna S.

Yelp
Everything we've ordered is great - pizza, salad, Italian fondue, everything! We don't live local (Marysville) and drive here for lunch/dinner.

Connie S.

Yelp
Great pizza, prices and service is top notch! All around best pizza in Columbus! Plenty of parking.
google avatar

Nathan S.

Yelp
This isn't a bad little place. We got our pizza togo, so I can't speak on the inside restaurant portion since it's separate from the take out area. The lady who answered the phone and took my money was super nice. We had the Hawaiian pizza. This is the kind of pizza you either like it or you don't. Some people believe pineapple shouldn't be on pizza, but I'm good with it. Wife and I thought it was pretty delicious. We also got the pizza with a lot of different meats. I can't remember the name, but it was still really good. My only complaint would be maybe too much toppings. A lot of toppings hit the plate because it was over flowing. Weird complaint I know, but it was slightly annoying to me. I won't dock them points for it since that's more of a personal issue, but at least throw it out there. All and all it was too shabby.

Joe M.

Yelp
Great service and pizza. I ordered pep, bacon, and banana pepper. Good but could use a pinch or two of salt over it to make it have more flavor. Great though and will probably order again.
google avatar

Christopher E.

Yelp
I have lived near and enjoyed The Pizza House's food for over 20 years. The place definitely deserves showing up on the city's best lists, as it invariably does each year. I need to try more of their menu items, but I'm addicted to the pizza crust. It's wood oven crisp, but with a croissant, pastry-like quality I've only had in a few cities. I like that they don't load up on the corn meal as most of the so-called, Columbus - style places do. They're also not claiming to be "New York Style" or "East Coast Style" like so many of the other joints that show up on the top 10 lists. I would characterize it as Northern Ohio meets Youngstown style, if pressed to enclose it in a style. I'm getting a pizza and a few subs next week to take to my Kentucky relatives over the holidays so they can see how it's supposed to be done...

Yelp
First time eating at pizza house and it was a cute little restaurant. It defiantly gave me an old diner feel with red booth seats and little dinning space. However on one side of the place it had a bar with some good beers on draft. I was on my lunch break so I wasn't able to grab me one lol. However the server we had was fantastic! She greeted us with a smile and checked in on us multiple times. The wait on our pizza was a little long, roughly 25 mins but it was super busy and it was national pizza day! Our pizza was delicious, the sauce was spicy and the toppings were loaded on the pizza.
