Great selection of plants. As an avid explorer of plant stores and nurseries in Los Angeles, I was impressed! I have never seen a larger selection of such beautiful Monsteras. Most of the plants were smaller sizes which could be because they had opened about a week prior to our visit. The cashier was very knowledgeable and friendly. They were also having a 30% off for Saturday which made prices very attractive. I would give 5 stars if there were pots, soil and other plant accessories too. I will definitely be coming back!

I am so in love with this place! They have the coolest plants, including some stuff I had been searching out for a while and some stuff I had never heard of - like my new stingray alocasia, which I am absolutely in love with. Everything was on sale but I still managed to overdo it. They also had pots and soil available so I was able to get everything I needed. I’m tempted to go back again today but probably need to save some money for groceries. Next paycheck for sure though! Photos are just some of my haul. 😬

Adorable little plant store right next to the Farmdale E Line stop. They have very friendly staff committed to teaching you how to care for the plants you get. Their space is cute and their indoor plant selection is great. The downsides are that there are relatively few pots and outdoor plants. Prices are obviously higher than major chain store like Home Depot, but you should totally shop local. They're very new, so I wouldn't be surprised if their selection expands quickly.

Wide selection of desirable and very healthy plants that are harder to find for sale in Southern California. You can tell by the condition of the plants that they are well cared for at TPC compared to the garden section at a place like Home Depot. Both times I’ve been here the staff have been extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and you definitely get that local friendly neighborhood vibe inside. They had a raffle for a plant when I was there, which I know they frequently do thanks to Instagram. I’m always happy to support small businesses, and The Plant Chica is one you can’t miss. I will definitely be back!

Sandra really helped me learn how to take care of my ficus tineke. There are so many varieties of plants to chose from, this is an excellent place to get your first or ninetieth plant.

This place is AMAZING. Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable to help me find the perfect plant for the particular spot I was looking to fill. They had tons of options, and the plants were all lush and healthy. This is my new go-to indoor plant spot in the neighborhood FOR SURE. So glad I finally checked it out!

A great local nursery! Found out about them from their adopt a plant events and haven't looked back since. They surprisingly have their more rare plants out on the floor which I appreciate - my wallet probably less so - because I've always wanted to buy a rare plant, but am never 100% sold on buying online without seeing in-person.

Super friendly service. Love the selection of plants - they're colorful and unique! They're having a 30% off all plants sale right now too which was such a nice surprise. Took home two new babies and am so excited to watch them bring more life into my apartment. Also love the way this shop is set up in a lil greenhouse garage type environment with a swing in the shop. They also sell pots for the peeps that need one last min!

I'm so happy I found this locally owned nursery!!!! I was so excited and happy with my two purchases that i came back same Day!! With my bf and we bought more! We talked a lot with Ben who was so so nice and helped us with plant care, tips etc. I love that it's black and brown owned! We also appreciate that Ben provided us with plant cards that give you tips on the origin of the plant and plant care! They also have a Plant care doc once a month where you can bring your plant and they can diagnose it for you! How cool is that!!! We'll definitely be back!

I've been a fan of Sandra since 2019/2020 when she had a humble plant shop from a home. Over the years I've bought countless plants and my Plant Chica plants grow the best!! This is an overdue review!! This shop is more than a business it's a community ground. Always an awesome selection and friendly faces around. I really enjoy the brightness this location puts to the area. I feel happy when I'm here! Thank you for bringing us joy and an awesome space of nature!

Today was my first visit to The Plant Chica after realizing I only work 2 mins away. I've followed their journey through Instagram for awhile and I was happy to get to meet Sandra in person. First, let me say how wonderful it is to have a plant oasis in the area. Second, it is Black and Brown owned and I will ALWAYS go the extra mile to support my Brown/Black brothers and sisters in this life. I live in Glendale and get to go to all kinds of plant stores at all times. So it is refreshing to be able to visit a well curated store in this area of Los Angeles. It is desperately needed here and you can tell Sandra is proud of her city and it was important for her to have her business here as well. Now the deets: great plant selection, also a great selection of rare plants if you like to indulge in the finer green tings. Green house space is large and open for all their events. Prices are in line with most other nurseries. If you live in the area and want to spend your hard earned money on plants, then come meet Sandra and support her business while you plantify your life! I know where I will be going during my lunch hour often now - ay yay yay!

Today was my second visit and love this plant shop! It's BIPOC owned and my favorite is the juxtaposition of the greenery displayed in a metal building that was previously a car mechanic garage. So cool! I learned that off of their Instagram, which you should follow for all their free events :) I really appreciate that they give back to the community as well like "Adopt a Plant Day" and a night market supporting other local BIPOC vendors/artists! A previous reviewer said their prices are not justifiable "given the quality and location" but all I saw were great quality shiny new plants that I wanted to take home and add to my collection. The idea that this shop should charge less because of where they are located doesn't make any sense. As a Latina myself I feel like they deserve all the business they can get and very much deserve to claim the space they have - especially on Jefferson where things are changing. Pricing to me was justifiable and relatively the same to what I've seen in other shops. Rare plants are more than triple the price on Etsy or sellers online in comparison. Today I picked up two philodendron micans aka velvet heartleaf philodendron and one hoya Hindu rope! I can't believe I have these in my collection now when they were impossible to find in person a year ago. These were not rare plant pricing just regular pricing. I love the rare beauties, but I have patience to wait it out for when they're more readily available. It makes it more exciting for me to randomly run into them in stores some time later! They've had great customer service every time I've visited so I'm more than happy to spend my money here, go back, and support Sandra THE Plant Chica and her family! These are the dollars that matter most to me :)

I've reviewed quite a few nurseries recently, but The Plant Chica has a special "homey" touch of love to it. This is probably the result of Ben and Sandra's care and presence! Plant Chica is on Jefferson, slightly past and behind Mel's Fish Shack. The sign is quite unassuming, so it's easy to overlook (see picture). I didn't see a parking lot for the shop, but there is plenty of street parking on either of the parallel streets. Their small little setup is a brilliant and fun. You have a variety of plants and sizes to choose from, and several large sizes as well! If I didn't already have a large Bird of Paradise and Dracaena, I would have been tempted to buy one here. I found the perfect English Ivy for around $30 after 25% off though, and it was plant love at first sight. There are also rare plants that range in pricing, so if you're a collector, here is a possible spot to check out. I will definitely be returning, even if it's just to support this sweet little business!

I've been to tons of plant shops on the Westside and this is one of the ABSOLUTE BEST. The prices are some of the most affordable you'll find in all of LA and I love any opportunity to support a BIPOC-owned business, so this place is perfect for me. Sandra is so kind and helpful, plus her plant cards that come with each new baby are above and beyond what any other shop does. Can't recommend them enough!! Such a wonderful addition to our community :) PS. Check out their IG for community-wide events! I'll be bringing all of my friends to the next one. Their outdoor event space is so cute and welcoming.

Kyle was amazing helping me pick a new plant for my classroom. He showed me different options and told me what kind of care the plant would need. There was no pressure and I felt confident that I could take care of this beauty. The ambiance was calm, peaceful, and overall beautiful. Kyle also showed me what the plant would look like inside a new pot because eventually I would have to buy one. To make it easier for myself, I ended up buying a pot, PLUS he fixed it up and added the soil. I named this beauty Monè! I'm definitely coming back for more plants! Plant Chica has it all

Lots of great plants with good prices. FYI they only sell indoor plants! We didn't know this before going but their options were awesome. It's not a huge place though.

This was more of a recon mission for myself. I'm trying to decide what I want and where I'm going to put them. It was my first time and the plants were BEAUTIFUL. They didn't have any sad or limp leaves. Nothing was torched. Everything is well loved and it makes me happy to know I'm supporting a local business. I'll be back soon with my plan!

I found The Plant Chica by word of mouth. I needed a few indoor plants and found a big selection and a sweet kind and knowledgeable owner to help me narrow down the best choices for me. They do so much good for the community. They're a bit of a drive out for me but I will continue to visit and support once they relocate. Support small businesses! Also, happy to report that my plants are thriving after a few years now. Very reasonable prices.

I love this place! The space has such a great neighborhood-y vibe and the people are so friendly. You can tell the owners love what they do and it's great how they give back to the community, hosting special events and promotions. They offer a wide variety of plants, from your standard common plants to the rarer types (I want you, monstera albo!).

The Plant Chica took my interest in plants from a hobby to a full blown lifestyle. The prices are super affordable and the vibes are immaculate. It was like target for plant lovers. Did I NEED a new plant? Maybe not... but it was never a bad idea at The Plant Chica! The owners were always present and ready to answer any questions you had. From novices to experts, everyone was welcome. AND THE "Adopt-a-Plant" SATURDAYS?????? Talk about building community! The community they built outlasts a brick and mortar. Cannot wait for you all to be back in full swing. The community misses you!

Stumbled upon this cute plant shop in Culver City based off of other Yelp reviews and so glad we did! It's located off of Jefferson Blvd. right behind Mel's Fish Shack with plenty of street parking. We were the first customers of the day greeted by Tim and omg he was awesome!! He was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. He was knowledgeable and kept checking in on us. He told us about the couple who owned it and we love supporting small businesses especially owned by BIPOC! Everything that day was 25% off so we got a couple beautiful, hanging marble pothos that were already vining. Tim told us they always have some discounts going on so follow their Instagram or just ask when in store. They had a cute area outside of the "greenhouse" that had pots and plants that needed "TLC" (tender, loving care) according to Tim and that section was free! Crazy! They also had a little book nook which I assumed was like a take one, leave one kind of thing. They had a large table of "rare" plants and their prices reflected it but were also included in the discount! Me, not being super knowledgeable of plants but wanting to be, dared not let my black thumb touch them. I'll definitely be back, probably today, to get more of those beautiful pothos and they had a good selection of large plants too which I've been eyeing.

WOW! A hidden little gem. Great to shop while waiting for food next door at Mel's Fish Shack. Very rare indoor and outdoor plants. You can not tell from the outside, enter the green house and be prepared for a nice surprise. The owner, Sandra, welcomed me and took time to answer my questions. I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but this strange Hanging Turtle pant just kept calling me LOL. Very nice shop, I felt an immediate calm upon entering. There's a wonderful selection of plants, great music. I'll definitely be back once I move into a new place. I'll be grabbing some tall outdooplants/trees!

I just want to share with anyone who will listen, the Plant Chica is a touch of heaven in the center of town. I appreciate being able to come my local plant shop and purchase a pothos or a super rare, highly sought after pink princess. The shop is a beautiful boutique vibe and the quality of staff and plants is top shelf. Every time I leave there, I'm more excited about my next visit. I pick up a quick plant for the bathroom or one for a gift, and the fact I can get there in a couple of minutes is everything! Thank you, thank you thank you, for sharing paradise with us! I love the Plant Chica!

What an amazing place!!! I cannot wait to get back to buy more plants. the plant that I purchased has brought so much enjoyment and beauty in my workspace. I am overly satisfied with the knowledge and patience that the woman who helped me carried. she was pregnant yet still so patient and helpful she even offered to help take my plants in my car!! so thankful I stumbled upon this place and cannot wait to come back! all the plants look so full of life and vibrant and well taken care of

I finally stopped by here today after having heard about this local plant shop for months if not a year now. I needed an Xmas present for an aunt who loves plants and wanted something new for my place. The owner was very nice and gave me several suggestions. I settled on something I thought would look good in my aunt's place and got a Calatheas for myself. The Plant Chica includes care cards with info on each plant so you don't have to worry once you get home how to care for your new plants. Highly recommend and will be going back

This is, hands down, my favorite nursery in all of Los Angeles! The plants are well taken care of, reasonably priced and sold by a lovely couple who are very knowledgeable about what they have. I have bought a few things from here, but my two most prized possessions are a gorgeous, lush "Janet Craig" Dracaena and a Whale Fin Snake Plant. You won't be sorry you visited this place!

Spotted this nursery behind Mel's Fish when picking up our delicious meal. Wonderfully healthy plants, knowledgable and pleasant staff, great pricing, lovely set up - a wonderful place to find out about and buy plants.

I really wanted to like this nursery. It's locally and BIPOC owned. But the three times I've been there, the staff was not friendly. I asked basic questions about availability of certain plants and was met with a discernible tinge of annoyance. Which is strange because I saw them acting very welcoming to other guests during past visits and today I was the only customer. I hate to think that it was anything more than a bad day for the staff. And this would be a three-star review if not for the fact that I think their prices are not justifiable given the quality and location. Even with the 25% off promotion. I would never spend what they're asking for for their rare plant section. And you shouldn't either. Even their uncommon and common houseplants are priced very high given the current market. There are so many great locally owned POC plant shops in LA and I don't see myself ever coming back. Thanks for considering my review.

I move close by and I certainly was looking to fill my home with plants! I love that it's family owned and the people are so kind and so nice to me :-) I come with a lot of energy and a lot of love and I'm so happy my plants are doing so well at home! They are very attentive and kind and hard-working people. I've recommended them to so many and I will continue. Shout out to this wonderful family :-)

Every time I've stopped by I've taken home a gorgy hun of a plant. The people there are super friendly and helpful. They give you tips on watering and a little card with fun fact and details of your specific plant type. It's located on the corner of Jefferson & Farmdale behind Mel's Fish Shack. The entrance is on Farmdale. Lots of street parking. Did I mention everyone there is nice?! Swing by. Truly a gem.

This is my new favorite plant spot!! The owners are so kind and truly love what they do. They have a huge selection with great prices, and they take such great care of their plants! They're knowledgeable and friendly. I got a rubber tree and fiddle leaf from them last week and they're thriving. This is where I will be getting more plant babies!

This is such a great little shop! The owners were so friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked up (and everyone was wearing masks for safety). For it being such a small space, they had a large variety of plants! Went home very happy with a large palm, a 12 inch pot, AND they gave a free Easter "gift" (a 4" golden pothos)! I'm super excited to place it in the house. Please support local businesses during this time. I can't wait to go back!

I love this place!!! Great coffee, great music and best of all, GREAT PEOPLE. The plants are very special and priced fairly! If you are in the area, stop by and get a slice of plant heaven!

I found this place on Tik Tok about 8 months ago, and I happened to stumble upon it before it blew up too big. Here, I was able to find some of my wishlist plants at a reasonable price including the calathea orbifolia, monstera peru, and some alocasias. She also had monstera thai constellation and monstera albos at some point, but these sell out extremely fast. This is a small business/family-owned, and you really feel the care with the plants. They also have an instagram page, where they post calendars for every month for all the events they post - they usually have fun plant clinics (where you can bring your plants for repotting or plant advice if you're having a little trouble) in addition to other fun events such as an easter egg hunt (where adults get free plants and kids can also play). There's also free plants (i believe one per person) that are in need of a little more love to bring back to life. I also recently ordered plants online, which I have always been skeptical about - and it shipped within a day and was packaged really carefully to make sure the plant was intact. Now, they are flourishing in addition to all the other plants I have gotten in person! Sandra also is really good with faces and whenever I come back, checks up on the other plants I bought - it really makes you feel special!

Wide variety of healthy indoor plants. Friendly customer service, and good music. The prices are $$ but every penny is worth it when you're contributing to mom and pop shops that focus on helping out their communities. I'll be going back for more plants. Thank you.

10/10 We walked in not knowing much about plants but wanting to deck our place out with all different types. We left with 11 different plants and SO happy. This place is reasonably priced - very fair for the quality of plants! It's not a bougie boutique where they upcharge each plant so much that you can only walk away with one plant. The customer service was exceptional - Ben was so so helpful. He answered all our questions, helped us select what would be right for our house, and never was pushy about selling. The plants themselves are so gorgeous - clearly taken care of. It was vibe inside with a DJ and very friendly people offering us drinks on that particular day as it was so hot and there was a baby shower next door. Cute boutique plant shop in Los Angeles! They have a nice variety of indoor plants of all sizes, also everything is 25% off right now. I bought a GORGEOUS calathea that was in extreme good plant health and a small palm. I love that their plants are in good health (soil health, new buds sprouting). All the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have a "pet friendly" section for all the cat and dog people also. They are cashless, so card or Venmo only! 10/10 recommend and going back for more with friends.

I LOVE this local nursery! What a gem! The staff is sweet and super helpful at answering my many questions. All of the plants are gorgeous, healthy, and they also sell rare varieties of plants. When I visited a couple weekends ago, they had quarantined plants outside that they found were infested with bugs and offered for me to take one for free if I could nurse it back to health. (I'm a beginner plant mom, so that's a no from me, dawg) I ended up getting 3 others from inside though and they're doing well here at home. Love this place, I honestly go every couple weeks since I discovered it.

Stopped by here after getting coffee and thought it would be a quick walk through but ended up staying for over a half hour. There are so many beautiful plants with great prices. Beautiful pots to chose from, too. Tim was super helpful and friendly. A wonderful afternoon plant shopping experience!

What a local gem! Sandra has not only created a beautiful space with a rich selection of gorgeous plants but she is also extremely knowledgeable in their care and keeping.
