The Best Sandwich Spots In Atlanta

"This Decatur spot offers a range of Creole and Cajun foods, but they aren't called the Po'Boy Shop for nothing. They've got 21 po'boy options with plenty of protein varieties like alligator, oysters, and crawfish. We’re partial to the Debris, which comes with tender roasted beef, gravy, all on Leidenheimer bread. We usually stock a pile of napkins the size of Everest because the excessive amount of tasty gravy makes the sandwich extra messy (there's even a warning label on the menu). Those over 21 can skip the upstairs order counter and head downstairs to the neon-lit oasis with a bar, pool tables, and darts. " - juli horsford, nina reeder

The Best Creole & Cajun Restaurants In Atlanta

"The Po’Boy Shop might seem like a small, typical counter service joint in Decatur. But underneath the bright, bare-bones dining area is a neon-lit oasis with pool tables and darts for the 21-and-up crowd. Their menu has all the usual New Orleans standards—gumbo, red beans and rice, and jambalaya. But this place isn’t called The Po’Boy Shop for nothin’, so just get a damn po’boy (there are 21 to choose from, and they’re the best we’ve had outside of Louisiana). We’re partial to the Debris, which comes with tender roasted beef, gravy, and a warning label that it’s messy (can confirm). The visit isn’t complete without a strong Hurricane or Purple Voodoo that more than make up for being a long-suffering Saints fan." - nina reeder, juli horsford, demarco williams

15 Decadent Bread Puddings to Try Around Atlanta

"This is the spot for folks seeking real-deal po’boys and other Cajun fare in Atlanta while taking in some sports on the TVs. Those wanting bread pudding should definitely order the dessert here. It comes with a bourbon glaze and is listed on the menu as “crazy good” — and by all accounts, regulars agree with that description." - Sarra Sedghi

Sandwiches From Restaurants Around Atlanta You’ve Just Got to Try

"As the name states, it’s all about the classic Louisiana po’boy at this sandwich shop in Decatur. Try the the shrimp po’boy topped with spicy remoulade or turn up the heat with Crystal hot sauce and blue cheese or ranch dressing. For a taste of New Orleans, order the muffaletta po’boy with traditional olive salad." - Eater Staff
