What a lovely stay. From the second we arrived, the entire team made us feel welcome, and although we only planned to stay one night, we ended up extending our stay so we could explore the city some more. There were garages to park in nearby and valet was something like $69 or so. We loved their pool and hot tub. The room was nice although I wish the bathroom had a fan. No complaints really. We’d definitely be back. Also, big shout out to Donald, the lead valet manager. He really made us feel welcome 🙏

Google
The hotel was very nice & clean. My room was cute and quiet. There was a refrigerator in it, but no microwave. The staff was very nice & helpful as well. I came for a conference and Vinita at the front desk was amazing. There was a large number of us flying in for this conference and we were early so our rooms weren’t ready yet. Vinita handled the situation with calmness & grace. She checked in our belongings and even when we had to come back multiple times because we had forgot something, she was still very kind and patient. She also assisted me with downloading my app for my Hilton Rewards so I could check in via my app since I was a rewards member. I truly appreciate her kindness and assistance with the checking in & out process. Thank you Vinita! The rooftop bar was an amazing view & vibe too! The pool & the ambiance by the fire pit are also very beautiful, but unfortunately the pool doesn’t open until 9 am so I wasn’t able to get in a workout in the pool before I started my day. However they said the fitness center is open 24 hrs , but I prefer the pool because of my knees. Overall, this was a great experience. Thank you Porter hotel for making this a pleasant & memorable trip!

Google
I have great luck with Portland hotels/hostels and this one is fantastic! The lower level has a full gym, meditation space, indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The rooms are also lovely and very clean. Plus the roof top bar and restaurant is fun! Highly recommended this hotel!

Google
I had a great experience at The Porter Portland. The hotel has a sleek, modern vibe from the moment you walk into the beautiful lobby — it’s spacious, artfully designed, and sets a great tone for the stay. The bar on the main level is a cozy spot for a cocktail or bite, with friendly bartenders and a solid drink menu. The rooftop bar is a true highlight — amazing views of the city and a fun atmosphere, especially in the evening. It's definitely worth a visit. Rooms were clean, quiet, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and upscale finishes. I also found the staff to be consistently courteous and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping. The only downside is the parking situation. There aren’t many self-parking options nearby, and the valet is convenient but a bit pricey. Still, the overall experience more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend for both business and leisure travelers looking for a stylish, comfortable stay in downtown Portland.

We had an amazing time staying at The Porter in Portland. Larry at the front desk was very attentive and helpful at check in and thanked me for being a Hilton Honors member. Valet parking staff were helpful and friendly in every way. Cooper and Isiah were very welcoming and assisted us with our luggage to our room. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Great walking distance to grab a bite. Will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Portland.

Google
Great hotel, very pretty. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are gorgeous! Love the lower level pool/spa/gym area. Felt very safe while I was there since you need a key card to access certain areas and floors. Visited the rooftop bar, very nice vibes and the bartenders eere welcoming! One thing that bummed me out was the size of the mini fridge. Smaller than your average mini fridge. And no microwave. Also, no water dispenser, so I had to go to the lower level everytime I wanted to refill my water jug. Otherwise, I had a nice time.

Google
Nice hotel located next to the river and China Town Portland. The service was nice and helpful except for the last stay checking out. I think the night shift manager was just tired or not feeling well. The gym was very nice, the rooms had a good vibe and nice views. The food was also good with room service. Easy walk to the train if you’re using it to get around. I would recommend for the price and location.

Google
Great location! The rooftop bar was great for nighttime cocktails before bed after a long day. The view was amazing. Rooms were a tad on the smaller end. The valet is needed because of the downtown parking. Kevin was great too. Always giving me ideas on where to eat and was prompt getting my car

Yelp
Currently staying at this hotel. Arrived literally in the middle of the night from the East Coast, minus our baggage which stayed behind while connecting through Dallas. Thank you for the human touches, and making ours a softer landing in the City of Portland. Kowelo (hope I am not butchering her name!) at Guest Services has been a G@dSent! She has equipped my spouse (who is traveling for work) & me with slippers and robes, while we await for decent body coverings, some band aids & toothpaste for weary travelers minus suitcases. I asked about her name, and she taught me it honors a Hawaiian Chief, who I imagine understood the great power to Welcome & Delight.

Yelp
$65 per night for parking. In Portland Oregon. $65. A night. And of course, you dont see this when you book the hotel. Local parking garages max per day is $14. This hotel charges 4x the local rates. Way to totally alienate your customers. Never staying there again. Looks like they are run by the Oxford Capital Group. Also never staying at any of their properties again either.

Yelp
This was the absolute worst stay of my life. I cannot scream RUN any louder. Valet Situation- After a 10hour drive we arrive to The Porter @9pm. There's about 3 cars parked in front with their hazards on and only one valet staff member hustling. We drive an electric car and learned they don't have any chargers so heads up. Not a huge deal, but yellow flag. [BEWARE!!] Room Situation - We were given THREE DIFFERENT ROOMS because of issues. And I'm convinced they do not clean their sheets. Upon checking in, we met the receptionist, Jose, who was sassy and unfriendly from the jump. We lugged our golf bags and large suitcase up to the room, scanned a working keycard, but the latch bolt prevented us from entering. Then a woman from INSIDE the room goes "wrong room." They assigned us a room that was already checked in! After telling Jose that room was unavailable, he apologized and said "idk how that could happen." A frustrating response to tired guests that it DID happen to. 2nd room- We walk into a room with an unmade bed, used soap and a dirty towel hanging over a chair. Clearly the room was used and not cleaned. Jose offered us drink tickets that expired same day, mind you--it's already ~10:00pm now (bar closes at 11pm). 3rd room - Checked the bed and see the sheets are dirty with what looks like mascara (?) or something grey on the pillow case and sheet. I do not think this bed was cleaned before our stay. We called front desk and they had the cleaning staff change the bedding. What a warm welcome from The Porter. We were told management would call us in the morning, they never did. So next day I kindly asked to speak with a manager. I patiently waited for 30 minutes only for the front desk employee to go to the back room and come back on the managers behalf. The manager never spoke to me 1:1. They comped a night from our 5 day stay, however there was no apology it was like a "here--please shut up, one night off." Upon check-out we noticed they charged us for Valet for 4 nights when we only valeted one night. So please check your receipt. This was quickly fixed by the morning front desk staff. All in all--would not recommend The Porter. I think there's a big opportunity for corporate to do an investigation into the management and operations of this location. Additionally I suggest retraining staff on customer service and problem solving skills.

Yelp
Best hotel in downtown Portland Very Clean and Luxurious Employees are Very Friendly Beautiful views from our room The pool is excellent And the Cafe that serves Coffee is delicious You can find parking around the corner of this building or there is plenty of parking garages that are cheaper than Valet just a heads up! Highly recommend staying here Our only complaint was the barn door for the bathroom didn't shut all the way

Yelp
(APRIL 2024) Everyone that works here was so kind and it smelled amazing in the hallways everywhere you went. The gym was very nice to work out in and was stocked with water and had a working AC unlike many hotel gyms I've traveled to. If I'm ever in Portland again, I'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
They have pretty good food here for in room dining, it's pet friendly, they have two bars that I've seen and pretty good service. They usually always answer the phones and are very fast with things that we asked for. . We stayed for a few days which gave us enough time to make these conclusions.. we have a beautiful view of the water and I think for the price it was. I would come back and stay here.
google avatar

Yelp
First of all, Teck at the front desk was the best! He was so helpful and kind! Beautiful hotel! The staff is very friendly! Very clean rooms which Is mainly all I care about. But this hotel was very accommodating. They are the best pet friendly hotel in Portland and they have a beautiful lobby to relax or work in. Great coffee shop as well. Might I recommend the hot caramel breve! Yum! And they have a great rooftop bar and lobby bar with super friendly bartenders. If you stay here, pay the extra fee for valet because the parking garage across the street is not a good idea! Great hotel! Great stay! Oh and don't forget to ask concierge to bring you up some super comfy robes :)
google avatar

Shami M.

Yelp
I'll start with the pros friendly staff and clean. The lobby is very cool and the rooms were clean. The rooftop bar is stellar though the service was just ok...now the cons the bathroom door is a barn door that dosent fully close so if you are doing a big poo everyone in the room can here it. The pool ran out of towels and it took over and hour to get them down there. No view from room except apartment building. When you called front desk no answer and $59 a night for valet is just gouging!!!!! There's $10 parking down the street.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel - lobby, rooms, all the decor. Good experience at check in. The elevators are fast too. The hotel valet parking is absurdly expensive at $60/night. We were concerned about homeless in the area and parking in the parking garage nearby but it wasn't a problem as of July 20, 2023. The area felt very clean, safe, and walkable.

Yelp
So when we book the hotel, we were expecting a 4 to 5 star. Let me say that the location is absolutely perfect. Had a great walk ability throughout downtown Portland. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly and met all service needs. I do want to say that the parking situation is absolutely ridiculous and they do charge $50 per day unlimited access for parking. However if you go to the south west corner of the block there's a parking garage and we paid $10 per day, there is a fee for hourly but we literally were not impacted because we were exploring Portland. We didn't really need to go in and out. To me the $50 per day is asinine. Now let's get to what I loved about this location the gym for someone who works out they have a really solid gym facilities. They have free weights, they have cardio equipment they have strength training equipment. It was a very good hotel gym. I also really loved the hot tub and pool area. There was also a steam room as well. I think it was absolutely beautiful and they did a really good job of making sure that the facility was well stocked with towels and everything. The lounge is absolutely breathtaking. I really enjoyed ithe drinks are a little on the pricey side but you know I think when you go there, it's for the ambience more than anything. We did enjoy our stay. The beds were very comfortable. pillows were great the housekeeping did come, random times like so sometimes they will come early and then sometimes they would come later in the day l, but they were very friendly and accommodating with any request we had. I will say that, and I'm not sure how good of a job they do cleaning rooms between guest. In our fridge that was old food from the previous guest. We also we found random items in the room as well so there's that. The location was absolutely perfect though it was walking distance to the pier. I did fro not hate my stay I would stay here again, but I would consider it not necessarily a full four-star hotel maybe like a good solid 3 1/2.

Yelp
Great experience! Friendly staff, beautiful decor and has it all. It is also family friendly although it doesn't look it. Pool- really nice, great size, towels provided, lots of seating, and the pool goes up to 5ft 15 inches in size. There is also a hot tub and I love that it gets really hot. It probably fits 10 People because there were 7 of us comfortably seated in there. Rooms- I had the 2 queen beds no suite and the room was nice and had storage options which I love. I like to hide my suitcases etc.. but not place my things in a drawer which they have a wardrobe and under the tv shelving and then additional drawers near the door. There are also lots of plugs for you to plug in devices and there is also one on the lamp on the bedside. Bathroom- my favorite part of the room because it has a vanity like mirror with great lighting for make up and skin care. Also there is a REAL privacy glass allowing you to use the bathroom and not be seen while someone else could be getting ready or taking a shower. TV- this was what did bother us because after a long day, we wanted to chill together and watch a movie or stream, and we could not do either because they are not smart TVs. Snacks/drinks- there is a store downstairs but it was closed by time I got down there. I'm not sure what all is in the air but I did see a fridge containing a nice drinks selection non-alcoholic. Patio seating - I loved how it looked outside its perfect to sit outside and eat or relax and at night they turn on a long fire pit.

Yelp
Lovely hotel . We were just in town for a night and picked this location for its ease of access to all the stuff we wanted to do . First time at this location . Tek was at the front desk when we checked in and he was so pleasant to deal with . Hotel is nicely decorated, rooms are spacious , bed very comfortable. My only complaint was a the secret hidden light buttons that weren't clearly labeled and we had a hard time finding a few at bedtime .

Yelp
Loved the stay for the first two nights. Used the pool, hot tub and sauna with adults and kids who were having fun but not bothering others. Tonight at 7:30 pm, the pool is packed with so many tweens , teens, and small children (easily 40+) with few to no parents in sight. A throng of 10 were running between the hot tub, sauna, steam room, and then cannonballing into the pool, oblivious to anyone around them (No parents or guardians to be seen). Hot tub was filled with small children and teens, no room for any adults who paid for a weekend of relaxation and not a trip to an indoor water park. The nice outdoor seating area was being used by a couple of kids tossing a football back and forth (there are multiple parks nearby) It is chaos and not really a "luxe experience". Previous stays were much better. Maybe it is the holiday weekend, but our other nights were not like this. Next time I pick a hotel I'll check to make sure it isn't listed on resort pass, or at least the hours are limited before I book. Consider having an "adults only" time so we can enjoy the amenities we paid for? Not trying to do laps, but the pool was beyond capacity with unsupervised kids. Glad I grabbed a towel, because in the end there were many people who had to do without. And could you all remove the bathroom sliding barn doors and replace them with doors that actually close? Ours kept rolling open and falling off the track.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed for an anniversary, and instantly fell in love with this hotel. We had a lovely view of the river from our room, the front desk rep was able to upgrade us after I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. We weren't too familiarwith the downtown area, but were pleased that it seemed very central to everything. If you do not want to park overnight in the garrages near by, street parking is fairly cheap, which is a perk coming from San Francisco lol. The service was great at this hotel, every worker had great suggestions and were very friendly. The best perk is the steam, sauna, hot tub areas. What a relaxing way to end your day of travels and exploring. I would recommend friends to visit this hotel and most likely will book here again.

Yelp
The hotel is modern and well kept with alot of amenities. In room fridge and microwave, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, reliable wifi and a good pool and fitness center. The steam room was out of service when I was there and the sauna was definitely the hottest one I've ever been in. The catch is the service. I parked in the 15 minute unloading zone checked in and went to get my luggage. Once I had our luggage and was about to enter the hotel the valet asked that I leave my keys in case of an emergency. No problem, I gave her my keys and asked for a receipt. She refused to give me any proof that the vehicle keys were with her. After I explained repeatedly that I wouldn't be leaving my rental with a stranger with no proof of return and got to the point where I just asked for my keys back and that I would park and then walk my luggage over - she finally gave me a receipt. I spent more time talking with her than I did checking in and unloading. I dropped our stuff in the room and then went to pickup the keys and park. Not only was that attendent no where to be found but I was blocked on by a guy who refused to let me out. Eventually I was able to get my keys and park and then go about my day. Never before have I had do not disturb on the door and have cleaning staff not only knock to try to clean but actively come in when asked not to. Nothing like being in the middle of dead sleep and then having to shoe someone away while you're in your underwear after yelling at the door "no service thank you!!" I checked just to make sure the do not disturb was still there and sure enough it was. The location is fine. Lots of parking nearby. I usually love the amenities at Marriott owned hotels and this one has all of those, but the staff could use some training.

Yelp
This is a decent hotel. However, for the price and worth it is significantly understaffed. The location is great and easy for parking. Busy during the weekdays due to the business centers nearby. However, on evenings and weekends, it's great. You can easily find street side parking no trouble. I really wish the rooms had a bit more storage though. The other thing to is that there is supposed to be a restaurant and a bar attached to this place. However, both were closed when we were there. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
Great hotel with spa luxury! We really enjoyed the location. I could walk to great Korean and Cuban restaurants with a sprinkle of pizzerias and coffee and donut shops. The on-site test was good for breakfast. My check-in took a little time because of a computer glitch but the staff made everything right and I felt very welcomed. The room was a nice size and for the most part clean. My main four star review is for the pool, sauna, gym and hot tub, which made my stay relaxing. Unfortunately, the steam room was closed. Con- my room's bathroom needed more cleaning attention and the hot tub should be cleaned more often.

Yelp
Truly one of the worst experiences I've had with a business. They wrongly charged my card $1,133 OVER my original payment amount. I've had to contact them multiple times to get it fixed, never being able to reach the manager who clearly does not care to help fix this situation. Managers name is Abigail Brown and looking at a few other reviews she doesn't seem to help with anything regarding disgruntled customers. I've had to talk to multiple people to get a refund and after the refund I am still over charged. The customer service is horrendous and their care for their customers is disgusting. My money was on hold for days due to their mistake and a sorry was all i received for the massive mistake they made. Highly don't recommend, but if you do stay or have highly recommend double checking the charges you get. Seems to happen often.

Yelp
This is one of the best Hilton properties we've ever stayed at. Out rooms and beds were comfortable as usual, but I thoroughly enjoyed the pool, rooftop bar and the onsite restaurant had great breakfast. This property is a short walk to the Hawthorne Bridge and Tom McCall Riverfront Park, Keller Auditorium and only 3 blocks from the closest MAX light rail stop. Above all, tho hotel staff from front desk, housekeeping and valet parking were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Terrible service. When you call they do not pick up. Wife left glasses in the room and when the front desk finally pick up they will tell you that's not their department they transfer you to housekeeping that never picks up. Terrible service. Y'all need to be retrained.
google avatar

Yelp
Full hotel, no staff. What a money maker! There is one poor soul at the front desk. He said this was his day off. Car in the street for hours with valet standing on the sidewalk on their phone. Line to check in out the door. No bar. No room service. No services at all. No manager. Calling Hilton corp who calls the front desk just to tell us that no one is answering. Someone is bound to be back to work in two days after the holiday weekend, until then there is no vehicle or room security. No services. No help. Think of the money for services paid for $60 valet, or for any type of hotel services at all. Without paying those people the franchise owners must be having a great profitable weekend. That front desk poor soul says the hotel is full. So a huge profitable weekend for the hotel at our expense I guess. Blame the economy?

Yelp
The Porter is beautiful. Xport (the rooftop bar) is always a blast & there are delicious restaurants on the first floor as well. I recently stayed here and the room was clean, but for the price, I wasn't too impressed. The TVs were small, phone service to the front desk was incredibly slow, the dogs in the room across from me howled all night, the staff weren't very friendly, some of the bathroom fixtures were broken, and there was zero flexibility by the front desk. I will say, the decor is cute and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bathroom lighting had a gorgeous ambiance & my view of Portland was enjoyable. I was happy with most of my stay here, but for the price some things just seemed unacceptable. I would still recommend it to a friend, but if you're hoping to pay to extend your checkout time, it's likely not an option and the amenities, while beautiful, are too crowded to enjoy. Also, it's been over 24 hours since I checked out and my deposit hasn't been returned despite leaving the room spotless & free of damage.

Yelp
STOLEN ITEMS !! Stayed here for a trip and coincidentally money and jewelry was stolen the day cleaning service came by. We went straight to the front desk as soon as I noticed something was off and I couldn't find my belongings.. Im hoping something can be done because this is insane. We were told we'd be contacted and have yet to hear back. Reading old reviews I see someone's belongings were also stolen in room 607 and we stayed in 608.. Seeing how sketchy the area was, we talked to locals and they said to always keep an eye out. I would honestly not recommend visiting this place or staying here. There were cute shops, decent food but realistically speaking I would never come back here or recommend staying in this area. Extremely disappointed.

Yelp
How should I start. I am a Dimond Hilton member and have stayed at a few other Curio properties around the world. This one I have to say has been my least favorite. The building is stunning yet the staff leaves something to be desired. I'll start with areas. Check in was a whole situation on its own. I was given a room after a difficult check in process. Once I get up to my room i open to door to find the room I was given was someone else's. I walk out and there are two ladies there whom seemed to be management of some kind. I asked what they would like me to do and was told just go downstairs and speak with the front desk. No offer was made to walk me down or assist (which was odd) I go do and another front desk person helps and gets me a room. That evening I go up to the roof top bar to grab a drink and was looked over for about 10/15 minutes. The bar staff was short it looked like but the manger for the space didn't seem to want to help ease the wait times. Just keep filling basic bar needs. (Things that could wait till the lines went down) Then room service I had tried to order using the in room dinning but to no avail the number would just ring. I finally called down to the front desk looking for help and was told they could take an order. So I gave my order and reminded my room and name only to have to call back an hour later asking about my order. To ge told "yeah we lost the room number so couldn't deliver" I was lost with how this place stays running with these kinds of oversights Needless to say I will not likely be coming back here again. There were other issues with water pressure and cleaning of the room that I won't even get into just be aware it's a great hotel to look at just don't hold to high standards.

Yelp
Love this hotel, it's my go to hotel in Portland. It's away from all the loud commotion. It's dog friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Porter for my birthday weekend and I would say we were happily satisfied. The rates for the hotel are extremely reasonable in my opinion, for what you get and the location. The Valet is a little spendy but I felt better knowing my car was somewhere safe. The valet is unlimited and the QR code to get the car was super easy and provided ETAs for when your car will be available. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. The rooms were clean, the bed was SOOO comfy. I would say the only thing I didn't like was the barn doors to the bathroom, and the lack of fan in the restroom. We used the spa amenities and they were AWESOME! We loved the pool and hot tub. The sauna was huge and the wet sauna was also fantastic. The pool room was heated well so we were nice and cozy. The front desk also sent robes to our room, which were perfect. Lastly we also utilized the rooftop bar, we went early so we didn't make it to the DJ but the drinks were great, and so was the service. The outdoor area had fires going to which made for a great cozy spot. We tried to utilize the restaurant but when we came over it was completely empty with no staff at the front or in the kitchen. We were told by the bartender that they just opened a few days ago and had a limited menu at the time. That was a bit of a bummer but we still found dinner within walking distance of the hotel. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to return in the future.

Yelp
I've visited pdx more than a handful of times and stayed at airbnbs til I found this beautiful hotel. I honestly have visited this hotel so many times it felt like home. Everything was really great til my last stay. Pros: great location; ohishi sushi 2 min walk is soooo good, pretty hotel, rooms r spacious n bathroom checks off all marks aesthetically which is very important to me. The have a pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, n a great gym! Most staff r friendly! Keondrea the manager is my fave. I honestly don't have many cons except.. the hot tub n steam room could use a deeper clean. The main incident that threw me completely off n maybe even ruined my relationship with curio pdx was a gentleman named Allen.. my second night there my lil sister made a friend at their pool. That following morning she gifted her a coffee voucher. We wanted to return the favor so later that day when my sis n I got ice cream we also go her a gift card. I left it with Allen and told him a girl named Jessica will come by later tn or tmr morning to grab it. I seen him write on a sticky one and place it on the card. Unfortunately Jessica left later that night. When I went to collect the card the next morning they couldn't find it. I came again later that evening, still nothing. I had to go home that day but I told them I'd be visiting again next week. Keondrea, my fave said he would give me a call if they found it... I guess they didn't find it.. I am assuming but I believe Allen took it for himself bc I could not find him that week or the next week when I came back... really a big bummer since a few small things sort of happened through out stay. Such as, being given a new room and the bathroom doors were broken + the shower door wouldn't shut all the way, room service knocking obnoxiously loud at 10am, the room service manager, boy does she have an attitude.. anyway the hotel still has great attributes n potential

Yelp
Came here for my friends bday and we had a reservation at the rooftop lounge for 10 people. When we arrived to check in at the main entrance the workers were so rude! After explaining that we were there for a reservation the guy at the front just said "we're closed" and did not elaborate further which left us very confused. Later we find out that their system was down which is why they didn't let us in however if they just had explained to us and were more friendly it wouldn't have been a problem. Luckily we were able to get a last minute reservation at a spot a few blocks away but coming from someone who works customer service I think this could've been handled more appropriately and would hope in the future to get a call or email at least stating our reservation had been cancelled. Only reason this isn't getting 1 star is because after actually talking to the restaurant staff they were nice about it.

Yelp
I was absolutely shocked to see that Portland is an absolute dump!!! Homeless, graffiti, boarded up stores EVERYWHERE! I was scared to be out past sun down. The hotel is pretty..... but the surrounding area is disgusting. I will never be back. Also...... the rooms do not have Smart TV's or hair dryers. Loved the valet system and little market. But 59 dollars a day for parking!!!! Insane......

Yelp
Where do I begin? I've stayed at this hotel for a total of three SEPARATE weeks within the past year. As a long time Hilton Honors Diamond member who spends roughly $20,000 per year on Hilton stays, I was disappointed to say the least. First visit (Sept. 2021): No housekeeping for days, even after requesting multiple times. Second visit (Jan. 2022): I've had a package delivered to the front desk and go missing. Third visit (Oct. 2022): Front desk associate Abigail billed me without authorization for a pet fee. Although I had my service animal registered through my Hilton account. Attached are the screenshots of messages from all three visits. You'd think that by having closed the main restaurant in the lobby and not having on-site parking ($20 per night in a nearby parking structure) that they'd excel in other aspects of hotel hospitality. But instead they offer poor service and only a few "bar bites" for food options (aside from the coffee shop open in the day). Considering the General Manager (Matt Bernard) has only been in position since December 2021, hopefully he would be able to turn this Hilton properly around and meet the Hilton mission statement of becoming the most hospitable hotel company in the world.

Yelp
Other reviews have made some disparaging remarks about this hotel. I did not experience this. The front desk staff was nice and helpful. Areas where improvement could occur are in areas where one asks for directions to local shopping. Or recommendations for dining venues. Maps would be very helpful and useful when visiting a city for the first time. My biggest complaint is the size of the bath towels. You can't even swaddle a baby with those towels. They were so small we went and purchased towels so we could wipe ourselves down after a shower. They could definitely do an upgrade regarding the towels. The pool area, gym, sauna and steam room was very clean and functioning. I read other complaints but didn't experience what others described. Overall not too bad a time during our visit to PDX.

Yelp
Hotel stay: May 27-29,2023 (Memorial day weekend) I booked this hotel stay through the AMEX Platinum portal. Just a tip, The Porter is NOT part of the Fine Hotel Collection. Your credits and late check out DOES NOT apply. Check in: Very awkward. I was checked in by a person who was sloppy in appearance and etiquette. I couldn't understand a single word she was saying. I asked about my Hilton Honours Status (Gold) and she replied "Have you ever watched Corpses Bride? Well, it's impossible for me to tell you because we have a thousand guest and it would be impossible. It's infinity." I was shocked by her behavior and honestly it was a bit hilarious because I felt like I was talking to a four year old. I had to call AMEX conceirge to get a detailed benefit summary. Room: Upon entry. The room had a broken lamp, empty body was, pillows/towels smelled funky, no glassware, and no robes/slippers. The only perk is that their AC and hot water is working. Amenities: I didn't go in the pool or hot tub because the reviews stated that it was gross. I did enjoy the gym, sauna, and meditation area. Breakfast (Terrane): AVOID at all cost. I ordered a salmon Benedict with potatoes. Everything was COLD. The food tasted like gas fumes and I felt sick for a good portion of the day. Check-out: I'm so thankful that they have express checkout by dropping your keys off in a bowl downstairs. Less interaction with Front desk the better. Tips: -This hotel does NOT honor Hilton Status -NOT a part of the AMEX Fine hotel collection -Park across the street on 1st and Jefferson. You will wait forever for valet services.

Yelp
Run!!!! Like don't even think about it!! Two stars because the facility is great, if they get new staff this place could be outstanding! It has the makings for a great stay. Brandy and Abigail were running the desk and they were hands down the rudest hospitality workers I have ever interacted with and I worked in the hotel business for years! I will put a longer more detailed version on trip advisor. It's been a week and I am still trying to wrap my head around how they spoke to so many guests, and how they were managing guests needs. Let's just say a 4pm check in was an 8:45 room. We were told no use of the facility (pool/hot tub/gym) until we were checked into a room, which they didn't have. Bar and restaurant were not open so they just had all the guests stand in the lobby telling us how they had a 169 room sellout the night before and so they had no clean rooms. Which makes no sense...since checkout is not 4pm. When we did get our room it had one towel. Abigail told me she could send towels but I was better off walking the hallways and finding housekeeping myself. So I did, 4 floors down, got myself my own towels. Headed down to the pool area it was filthy and had all kinds of people making out in them, like a bad house party...so skipped that, went to bed, only to find the room next to us hosting a party. Again told no one to come ask them to be quiet. Told no manager on site until Monday....it was a Friday. So we got no sleep and checked out the next day and headed to another hotel instead of enduring another night. I will say the valet service was incredible and the folks running it were lovely! If I had to bet they don't work for Hilton but a private company. I tipped them 15 bucks on the way out because they were the only ones in the whole building hustling and smiling.

Yelp
Clean beautiful hotel. Great customer service! We have stayed here three times and will keep staying here!

Yelp
They do nothing to protect from others charging to your room. I wish I never stayed there as it has taken hours of back-and-forth to try to reverse fraudulent charges. On the way out after waiting hours, I received an apology from Jason who gave me a voucher for a free coffee and told me the manager would call me. That never happened since and over $150 in fraudulent charges have not been reversed. They initially charged several days of valet parking at $59 a night when I only parked in valet one night. I had to wait longer in the lobby for them to correct that error alone. Avoid valet and park at smart park that is $15 a day but best to avoid this hotel altogether. I will be reporting their questionable practices to the Better Business Bureau.

Yelp
The Porter Portland is an excellent hotel located in downtown Portland. Overall it was in outstanding stay. The property is gorgeous and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I encountered to minor drawbacks during my stay. First, I decided to eat at the hotel bar on the top floor of the hotel. The bar and view from the bar are amazing, but the food selection was minuscule. One of the food choices we ordered was a buffalo chicken sandwich, which had no buffalo sauce on it. Second, the most convenient way to park your vehicle is the valet parking, which is $49 a night. It was a bit expensive but more convenient than trying to find somewhere around the hotel location. This is a great hotel, other than those minor drawbacks I mentioned previously. I had a great day and would stay there again.

Yelp
Loved it overall. If the trash trucks didn't pick up around 5am and and downstairs bar didn't have broken taps I'd be all-in but clearly not their fault. The rooms are classy and the sauna/ indoor pool are amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I am basing this review off safety and customer service. There was one person ahead of us upon checking in. I overheard the conversation. The guest was letting him know he had checked in earlier but he had left his key and ID in his room. I could tell that the employee (Caucasian male with glasses) was not the one who checked him in earlier that day. The guy started talking about how he went to beg over and the employee just makes him a new key. That is 100 against hotel policy. The proper way to handle it would have been to make a new key, walk him up to the room and have him present the ID upon unlocking the door. Now it's my turn to check in. He gave me an accessibility room which I did not book ( found out when I walked into the room) Then when it was time to add my card for incidentals the card reader froze and they ended up charging my card twice because the first one went through on my end but not theirs. I did let them know that it was outrages that I be charged twice because of a mistake their system made. I even had to call my bank to prove it came out of my account but they didn't seem to care and had me insert my card again. The manager did give us a coupon for a free drink for the inconveniences I did receive both deposits back after a couple of days.

Yelp
This is a nice-looking hotel with plenty of potential. However,... nothing added up to a worthwhile stay. We had to wait 90 minutes for our room to be ready . We finally got checked in and went to the rooftop bar to scope out food options. Their menu was sparse so we got sushi nearby. Back at the hotel, it seemed that everyone was short-handed and things weren't being taken care of. The pool towels were depleted. The sauna was closed. (Nice indoor pool btw). Back at the room, which was new and clean) the towels were frayed and a pillowcase had a hole in it. The bathroom had too many sliding barn doors which made for a tiny, cramped water closet. Also, the walls were really thin and you could really hear people in the hallway . Their main restaurant is closed. And there's a 13 th floor!! What's up with that?? Book with Hilton Honors for free wifi. Valet parking is $49 otherwise there's a parking structure across the street. All in all, not a good value for the money we spent.

Yelp
Very comfortable room. Spacious yet tight but contained in a good way. Loved the interior and design with the colors. We had a window view of the main door. I didn't like the sliding French doors to the bathroom and toilet but did like the face that they were separated. The AC was working really well. I wasn't sure why the ceiling had lights above the bed after we turned off all the lights which made it slightly harder to sleep. When we opened the fridge there was a Truly Can left inside. But bed was comfortable and the hotel has an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, gym, and rooftop bar.

Yelp
Gonna be honest- this place has gone WAY downhill. No robes/ slippers in room Hot tub/ pool were freezing no downstairs bar/ restaurant no wine for purchase at cafe limited staff at the 16th floor restaurant we waited 45 minutes for one order of sliders (separate review incoming) I think we're going to start looking for alternatives for our staycation

Yelp
do not eat here! the food is awful. the little market has great coffee but not very well stocked with things you might need like toothbrushes! I had chicken piccata and it was made with roux which was disgusting...all i could taste was flour- the rooms are decent and clean. The cleaning staff is lovely but cut down on the Fabuloso cleaning spray! This hotel has a great facade but it is poorly run and poorly staffed. Only 1 person serves in the hotel restaurant. Do not bother calling guest services or others because no one answers. last time I will stay at this place. Hilton, I thought better of?

Yelp
Yikes. Just read the previous reviews, i'm not here to beat a dead horse but... I'm a Diamond Member since 2011 stayed at so many Hilton Curio hotels i think i'll name my next dog Curio. This is by far the worst one. Unfortunately brought my wife here for a Valentines Staycation Cons: Over priced ($900 with valet, 2 nights) Closed Restaurant-crappy cafe Rooms are built like garbage with cheap materials Hot water doesn't last Uncomfortable beds I got water when i checked in and that's the extent, had to ask for towels and coffee what a joke Front of staff not friendly "Suites" are just two bedrooms pushed together with unlocked adjoining doors Pros: Valet guys are 5 Stars (probably private company) Cool looking Hotel Fast Elevators 2 Stars for the Valet guys alone.

Yelp
The Porter is a great choice when looking for a hotel in Downtown Portland. Just recently had a great stay here. Background: My main compadre and I were on a quick trip to Portland to see The Warriors play the Portland Trailblazers. We stayed here two nights Thursday, February 24th and Friday, February 25th. The main reason I picked The Porter waa because of it's indoor pool area with hot tub and steam room. I was getting nervous as I had read some reviews that the pool area was closed since the hotel reopened from a closure. I emailed the general manager prior to my stay and he assured me the pool area was indeed open. Check In: We received exceptional servuce from Danny upon our arrival. We got to The Porter early as there weren't many flight choices from The Bay Area and we needed to make sure we were in town early in the day for the game at 7:00. There were some afternoon flights from The Bay Area , but didn't want to chance a delay and miss the game. Rolled In about 1030 am and Danny said our room wasn't ready. I honestly was pretty skeptical because in the Hilton app there were tons of rooms to choose from. We told Danny we really wanted to ge into our room asap, but he said they had nothing available. We told him we'd hang out in the lobby for a bit. He took our luggage and gave us the wifi information. He came back about 30 minutes later with our luggage and keys. He said he made us "The Guests of the Day" for the silver Hilton tier and got us in early with no fees. He also got us vouchers that we could use each morning for breakfast . This was great service. Room: We had the standard two queen room located on the 13th floor. The room was clean, well appointed, and modern. It had a large walkin shower.. The beds were comfortable. Lots of outlets to charge stuff. Amenities: Star of the show was the indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna. I loved having these Amenities. Very relaxing. It's located on the floor below the lobby. I left my phone in the room, so I didn't get pictures but trust me it's solid. Restaurants/Bars: This is the only reason The Porter doesn't get 5 stars. All they had open during my stay was The Exchange which is their coffee breakfast/very limited grab n go. It was great for coffee in the morning. They have a lobby bar and restaurant off the lobby which was closed. Also, apparently they had a rooftop bar, and pizza window that never reopened. I'm not sure if these spots will reopen at some point. I'd think at the very least they would get the lobby bar open. Every fine hotel needs a solid lobby bar. Location: The Porter's in a very quiet spot downtown. More towards the water and at the other end of town from The Pearl District. So if you're hoping for easy walking access to that area then The Porter might not be the spot for you. We used Uber/Lyft to get around and it was fine. Final Thoughts: Price was very good for the quality of The Porter. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Portland.

Yelp
It's a very nice hotel with a hip vibe. The only thing I will add to the previous review is that this hotel is in an area dominated by office buildings. It's probably not the place to stay if you want to walk to sites in Portland or have nightlife or restaurants for dinner. Room was great- a bit small but that was expected. Front deck staff were super nice and helpful. The rooftop bar has great views and helpful staff.

Yelp
The level of service that I received can best be described as subpar, while planning what needed to be a very special celebration last Saturday for sixty (60) people at XPORT Bar & Lounge. The amount of chasing the Sales Manager, that I had to do, to try to get answers and responses to my questions throughout the entire process was completely unacceptable. Being extremely busy should never be an excuse for poor customer service. If it were not for the fact that the bride, who was the guest of honor for the celebration, expressed her desire to have it specifically at XPORT, I would have certainly made reservations elsewhere. I have never spent this much time and money at an establishment where I did not feel valued. I felt the need to let you know because I reached out to the Sales Manager's manager on Saturday morning, and I still have heard nothing back. DO NOT spend your money here planning any event.

Yelp
As a frequent business traveler, stay somewhere else. Upon arrival the valet indicated requesting your car takes at least 30 minutes at $59 a night - plus tip if you're normal. There's several public lots adjacent to the property that are $20 a day. The digital key card feature that works at virtually every Hilton property was faulty and required a trip to the front desk for physical keys from the 15th floor - that needed replacing twice. The staff seems only focused on doing the bare minimum until they can get "recreational". The TV in the room was stuck in setup mode. The toilet seat moved around like a faulty screen door. The walls are paper thin, as normal conversation is completely audible. The shower, while a Speakman head, loses pressure every few minutes, then returns with demonic blasts. All the items in the convenience shop are overpriced. No one answers the phone if you dare want room service. Save yourself the bad trip. Update: I was charged every night for valet, despite only using it the first night. I'm sure it will be tedious to get that removed.....

Yelp
I had a pleasant 1 night stay here. The front desks was nice and was always available for questions. Check in and checkout was fast and effortless which I really appreciate. The room was clean no complaints there. We didn't hear noise or conversations like the other reviews had mentioned, but maybe there was nobody next to our room. The bed is super soft, but a little too soft since my back was hurting the next morning. 24 hour fitness center is decent. Can't get more than that from a hotel. The pool / jacuzzi looked a little dirty not gonna lie and they ran out of clean towels when we were there. There's also a Starbucks right around the corner which is a bonus.
