Press Review - St Helena - The Infatuation

"With the largest collection of Napa Valley wines in the world (over 10,000 bottles), a trip to Press would be worth it for the wine wall alone, but with views of the Mayacamas Mountains, and a dramatic dining room, Press is the spot in town for an impressive (and expensive) celebratory meal. Hit the bar for oysters and excellent drinks, like the Ramble & Bramble with bourbon, blackberry shrub, lime, and ginger ale, or get a spot on the secluded back patio for steaks and one of those local wines." - Christina Julian

Absolutely loved our dinner at The Press! The mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside—an ideal starter. The real star, though, was the chicken fried ribeye: juicy, tender, and fried to golden perfection, it’s a must-try for anyone craving true comfort food. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the cozy vibe in the Plaza District just completes the experience. We’ll definitely be back for more! Five stars!

Google
The Press is brunch heaven! 🍳🥂 Their drinks are on point, the food is delicious, and it’s the perfect spot for groups. Chill vibes, tasty bites—what more could you want? We’ll be back! I only gave it 4 stars because the service wasn't the best.

Google
The atmosphere was great. Old meets new is also where old meets young. Our waitress was nice, very quiet, and difficult to hear in a large space with general conversation noise. We ordered the Mozz sticks and nachos with chicken. Sticks were so good! Nachos, not so much, all the cheese was on the bottom, and we found it after we ate all the chips. Not enough chili, tons of lettuce- which was weird. Chicken was okay.

Google
The food here is fantastic! The service was very good!! And the atmosphere is perfect!!! The catfish dinner was very tasty and my wife's Buffalo barbecue mac and cheese had me keep taking bites of her food also. I definitely recommend this place you won't be disappointed!!!!

Matt Green

Google
Really delicious food, we had the Cobb salad and ribeye steak and eggs. We got waffle fries instead of grits with the steak.

Google
The atmosphere of this place is great! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! But today I was ordering takeout, vegan nachos! And WOW 💘 They love these things up, send you with plenty of refried beans, vegan nacho cheese, everything you need! And they are absolutely amazing!!

Google
I had a Cobb salad and it was very good. They even accommodated a few changes. There were seven of us and the waitress did a decent job keeping up with our drinks. Would I return? Maybe. The parking can be a bit iffy and I can't say I was wowed by the food or atmosphere so... maybe.

Bianca Hollins

Google
Great atmosphere, the mozzarella sticks were the best I've had. I had the cobb salad and the Greenz and Beenz salad. Both pretty good! The green chili chowder was delicious!

Yelp
This is only my second time ever eating at The Press, but it's beloved comfort food! It was years ago, but I distinctly remember enjoying the buffalo Mac and cheese. So it made an impact! We had 2 servers checking on us, so service was great. My colleague even got fresh chips to-go with her queso. It's located a little in a back alley, but has great indoor and outdoor seating. I was also excited to snag a parking spot right in front because parking in that area is pretty limited. My catfish was delicious. The cheddar grits were the best part!

Yelp
I attended a birthday party at The Press recently. We sat on the patio & it was perfect with our big group. I ordered the Press Cobb & it was amazing. It had deviled eggs on it which was the perfect touch to make the salad extra special. I would order it again! Can't wait to try more dishes next time.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, really open. My brekkie bowl was delish, heavy presence of green onions, which I loved having in every bite. Pork belly was tender and had a lot of flavor. Perfect amount of cheese. Biscuits and gravy were good, biscuit alone was huge and was fluffy. Staff super friendly and attentive. Nice job OKC!

Yelp
The Press has amazing soups and salads, as well as other side dishes like their Mac and cheese, all located within a relatively spacious interior with multiple bars featuring excellent, prompt and attentive service. I should also come here more often for lunch. Highly recommended as a gem in OKC!

Yelp
Cute and "hipster" vibe with really great service and amazing food. Casual atmosphere with good bar service (excellent margaritas) and lively atmosphere. Bar side dining is louder than hostess side dining. The hot Honey chicken sandwich was tender and so flavorful. The veggie burger has me craving more! So hard pressed to know this is veggie only -all the right flavors were there and the jalapeños gave it that extra something! So happy we went out of our way for this place. It's awesome!

Yelp
The food was wonderful. Service was excellent. The ambience is very busy, however very accommodating. We had reservations for 15 people and also brought in a birthday cake. They were happy to put the birthday cake in the cooler until we were ready for it.. there is indoor or outdoor seating. I only took away one star because there were two people that ordered the breakfast tacos and they both said they were not very tasty. That was the only complaint. Everything else wonderful and very tasty at our table.

Yelp
I have been here twice and both times were great. Tried 2 different meals, both were amazing, and decently priced. Every time we go they have friendly service and very nice ambiance for a date night! First time was around brunch time and the next was dinner...both were fantastic. I would say there is not very many servers so the wait time for service takes a bit of time but that is about it. It is very family friendly and there was a wide array of people from couples dressed up to families just in for dinner. I love this place and will definitely go back!

Yelp
Although we were a large group, seating didn't take too long. We were greeted with a kind smile. The food taste like home but an upgrade if that makes any sense. We had a great time and when in the area will be back.

Cory B.

Yelp
Bad. Food poisoning. Odd taste to the food. Nothing really great. Nice selection on the menu. Facility was nice, not many people.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect place for a drink or night out with friends! Had a marg which was essentially 2 drinks and the quesadillas to share and it was the perfect amount of food!!!! Our waitress was so kind and attentive as well!

Yelp
I was pretty excited to try this spot out due to all the good reviews I had seen. Located in OKC, The Press has a cool hipster vibe. We decided to sit outside since it was nice outside. We initially ordered the queso which I was excited about, but our wait staff appeared to be too high to remember. I can't speak on how well the service was because it wasn't great. I'm fine with wait staff being high because that is what a lot of the industry is, but when it is so apparent and you start missing things on the orders and it's obvious, that's when I have an issue. The food looked great. I ordered the chicken fried ribeye that came with mashed potatoes and gravy along with asparagus. Also ordered the chowder. The chowder was really good and had everything you could want in it. The presentation was awesome and would definitely get again. The chicken fried ribeye was good, but not impressive. I would give it a 7/10. The mashed potatoes with gravy and asparagus were really good and would get again. Overall I would have rated this place a little higher, but my overall experience wasn't great and I would not go out of my way to visit again.

Yelp
We decided to give The Press another chance and went for an early dinner. Ambiance - Cool and casual, but the competing music between the bar dining area where they seated us and the kitchen made it hard to hear each other. I ordered the Theta-Ish burger on a GF bun, which turned out to just be GF bread. The flavors were great and the bacon was perfect for a sandwich/burger - not too crispy but just crispy enough. I subbed the sweet potatoes tots for the waffle fries and that was a good choice. My spouse had the chicken sandwich on GF bread and said it was just OK. All in all, the food was way better than the first time we ate here.

Yelp
I was so thrilled to come across The Press when I was planning our foodventures during our stay in OKC. I wanted to come here because it was the only place, and I can't believe I even found a place period, that has a vegan navajo taco. I made a reservation for 11 on a Friday morning which was not necessary. The space is pretty big and includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. I love the industrial look. Our server was wonderful and very helpful. I already knew what I was ordering but I was pleased to see many alluring beverages in their drink menu. I can't find it on the menu online but the one I decided on was the Lulu something. All I can recall was that it had tequila but it was bright pink with some bubbles and a spectacular taste that perfectly balanced sour and sweet. If I didn't just have THE best cocktail of my life a few days prior, this might win that award. GF ordered their bloody mary which she says was "too peppery for my liking but got the job done". I will say, as someone who was there and who has eye balls, that the garnish was fucking adorable. I think there was even a little baby pickled okra there... At my urging, GF ordered the theta-ish burger, vegan version. She ate the entire thing and seemed to enjoy it. It was served with waffle cries that were extremely crispy and fantastic. I helped her with those. I did consider ordering an appetizer but I'm glad I didn't because the navajo taco is an absurdly huge portion and you are hearing this from a binge eater. I maybe was able to eat about half. It was VERY good. It was almost like a salad on top of fried bread. The only thing I have to say is that some of the lettuce had seen better days but 90% of it was crisp and fresh. This was an excellent meal and I'm so glad we had time to stop in before ending our OKC trip.

Yelp
Service was great! Outdoor seating perfect / clean and well appointed. The fun food menu is full of interesting twists on the usual. Delicious!

Yelp
I was in town for a friend's surprise bday party/reunion. We all ate at The Press. This place is located in an art district of the city. We came on a Sunday afternoon and parking wasn't too bad. Surprisingly, inside was quite spacious with a lot of seating. They have an outdoor patio area as well. The staff was great. Everyone loved their food. The mozzarella sticks were HUGE. It was breaded like fried chicken, not your usual breadcrumbs. They were really good and I highly recommend. I got the Press Cobb salad. It was so big that I had it again for dinner. For leftovers, it was still good. One of our friends ordered the Press_idente! Margarita. The tequila had a smoky taste and it was strong! Definitely bang for your buck. I would definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Least favorite meal in Okc. Service was good, but meals tasted like they had been frozen and reheated. Chips? Stale. Quesadilla? Greasy and undercooked (idk how you undercook a quesadilla, but they did). Wife got a Caesar salad. But the "Caesar" tasted like mustard... had not been that disappointed in a meal in years.

Yelp
Stopped in on a rainy night for dinner. Service was fast and friendly and I was seated promptly. I ordered the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of mac and cheese. The presentation was great and portions are plentiful. I enjoyed the fresh scratch made potatoes and green beans. Everything tasted fresh but lacked flavor. I would have added a little more seasonings and it would have been a perfect meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service! My drink was always full and server was great with recommendations. A little loud, but I still enjoyed time with my family.

Telannia N.

Yelp
The food was great. The cocktail that tasted like lemonade was perfect. I want to go back.

Yelp
Super friendly staff. The food was amazing and you receive very large portions. Recommend the mozz sticks they were pretty amazing
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Visited one evening after hearing good reviews. It was a Sunday evening, not busy. Was seated quickly, service was good. Friendly staff. Started with queso and chips. I would not order this again. It was very processed tasting. It was thick and not very flavorful. The salads were great! Loved the Cobb salad. My husband loved the Caesar salad. It was all fresh ingredients. The chicken was so good! Now, the only thing would change is the dressing. I tried blue cheese and balsamic, and my husband had the Caesar. The blue cheese was lacking flavor and very thin. The balsamic was very thick. So, I would eat here, but maybe use my own dressing, as the food was great! And since this can be personal preference, try it! The food makes up for this, and you may love it!

Yelp
My family and I was passing through Oklahoma City and came across The Press, and we are so SO GLAD we did! My dad and I got the Catfish Dinner and my husband got the Shrimp & Grits, which he says were the BEST shrimp and grits he's ever tasted. The vibe is gorgeous, our server was very friendly, and the food was delicious, I'm sad we don't live closer so we can come by more often!
google avatar

Sheena R.

Yelp
Let me tell you.... The Press has some good food! I had catfish with cheese grits, okra, and asparagus. So good! The server seemed a little annoyed when I asked to exchange the coleslaw for the asparagus but it's all good. I loved the music. They were jamming.
google avatar

Bob E.

Yelp
We had a wonderful brunch at 1:30 in the afternoon. Highly recommend this restaurant for the quality and quantity of the food. And the old printing press building is cool, too!
google avatar

Bella S.

Yelp
Found this on yelp and diverted off the hwy to check it out... we were so glad we did! The menu is full of delicious comfort food items with a fun twist. Several tasty GF and Vegan options. The building was a modernized old brick structure with an outside patio. Open space and clean. Appetizer we chose: Tots 2 ways! What can go wrong with Cheddar stuffed tots, topped with country gravy, diced bacon, AND tots topped with beef chili, queso, sour cream, green onion? The chicken sandwich was amazing! Southwest salad was fresh and fully of flavor. It helped balance out the heavier items with gravy! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back if headed through OKC.

Yelp
Lunch time specials at the press located at16th plaza district are always clutch! #smacktastic. I got the burrito bowl over rice with char'd grilled chicken w/ avocado lime dressing. I had left overs. They have some of the best fried cheese sticks! Very shareable appetizer. The cowboy caviar isn't a bad appetizer as well. The chili is worth getting with Texas toast!
google avatar

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
The short rib quesadilla is incredible!! Highly suggest ordering! The meat is tender and so flavorful. We also ordered the chicken fried ribeye with Mac and cheese and sweet potato tots. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The plaza district is one of our favorite spots! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The Press is a unique, vibing restaurant with tasty dishes for days!! The Press surprised me with wonderful service, great cocktails, and TASTY food! I loved trying new things and this restaurant was me doing that with their take on classic meals! The place had such vibes and just a warning to add some extra time to get parking because that area was packed! This place is Gluten Friendly and had some options, make sure to tell your waiter! I love the Texas Caviar so I tried out the Oklahoma Caviar and I was not disappointed at all! Yum! The chips were perfectly crisped and thick to scoop up that goodness! The Mashed Tator Bowl was AMAZING. The chicken tenders were juice and crispy! Gravy on point. I would eat this everyday if I could! My friend got the Gluten-Free Dagwood Sandwich with their Gluten-free Waffle Fries and gave it two thumbs up! It was a big plate of food!!! Cocktails were very delicious! I had a sip of the Bloody Mary and really liked it! I don't usually like the savory drinks at all but I was wanting to take more sips! The Happy Happy Joy Joy represents its name very well! It was the perfect amount of sweet and fruity! Highly recommend! MY FELLOW RANCH LOVERS, THEY GOT SOME GOOD LOVIN RANCH. Chef's kiss to that! I was about to order the cob salad alone for that!!!
google avatar

Heather K.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant in the plaza district. Parking isn't easy but the atmosphere and food is worth it. We sat outside on the patio which was nice. The food and drinks are delicious. Good amount of food for the price. I would've given it 5 stars but our waiter wasn't around much. We had to go track him down for our tickets but realized he was also bartending inside. If he would've told us it wouldn't have been a big deal. My friend tried the watermelon crawl and really liked it as well. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
I first visited this restaurant several years ago on my first trip to Oklahoma. I remember it being some of the best food I ever had. My mom got the meatloaf and I got some kind of fried steak. They were both truly amazing. I also remember the cool tables they had that were wood that had electricity pushed through them and made cool marks on them. I just recently went back to Oklahoma and definitely wanted to eat there again but didn't want to Uber there. So, my mom and I ordered through doordash. I got the shrimp and grits and mom got the meatloaf again. My shrimp and grits were so good and the meatloaf was as good as we remembered. I highly recommend this place. If I'm ever back in Oklahoma, I will definitely eat there again.
google avatar

Gilbert P.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant for a date night, and it exceeded my expectations. The dishes were a perfect balance of flavor and presentation. The attentive staff made us feel like the only guests in the room.
google avatar

Teaira J.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've been to The Press and tonight it sounded good. They have done a lot of remodeling since last time. More room indoors and out. Menu has a bit of everything including vegan options.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Everything was great! Food ambience whole experience? Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for lunch. The Cobb salad and chicken sandwich are by far my favorite. I order the chicken sandwich with the Hawaiian roll and with the dunk sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy. Service was prompt and with a smile. The restaurant was fairly quiet while we there but it can get busy around lunch time. Parking is a little tricky because it's located on a one way street and there isn't a designated parking lot. We enjoyed our experience. We'll definitely return.

Yelp
OMG this cream cheese toast is lit fr! i loved the crunch of the nuts, and everything on the bread just paired amazingly. the bread was a bit tough for my liking, but i would saur saur order again. they gave us warm water (ice per request). pricing was okay but reasonable for the area, 7/10 experience.
google avatar

Raven M.

Yelp
The press has great food all around. This Cobb salad was huge. I loved it and couldnt finish all of it.
google avatar

April K.

Yelp
I can't believe it's been 3 years since I last had The Press. I went 2 days ago with my boss who is GF. She got the Dagwood and sweet potato tots. That sandwich is massive. I had the buffalo mac. The pasta is perfect and the sauce is creamy. The chicken was amazing and the buffalo sauce just right. Our server was great as well. The ambiance is hip yet casual.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere. Small menu but unique offerings. Ordered the cheese sticks for appetizer and they were outstanding. Old fashioned was good but had a dirty martini that didn't taste right, like they had used pickle juice instead of olive brine. Total for the table we had the chicken strips and waffle fries (strips were very tasty but the fries had no seasoning), chicken fried rib eye with okra and mashed sweet potatoes (incredible), pot roast (which is actually a short rib which was tasty and very tender) and the meatloaf with mac and cheese and asparagus (meatloaf serving was thin and small but delicious and so were the sides). Price was definitely reasonable. Would definitely return.
google avatar

Cinai V.

Yelp
The press is giving the people what they want! I truly had the best Cobb salad I have ever had here, the chicken was fried perfectly and they stacked it with toppings, it was so yummy. Their waffle fries live in my head, rent free. We were greeted immediately by multiple people as soon as we walked in and our server was super cute and sincere. I love the industrial ambiance it has, it's super open on the inside and the patio is a really trendy place to be during the summer. Such a great establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
Our neighborbood gathering spot with good food & drinks. Love the atmosphere & waitstaff.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Absolutely love the press. One of plaza districts many gems. The outstanding staff and venue brings joy to every dining experience. I have returned to the press at every hour of the day for every occasion. You can't really go wrong with food or drinks. However, the meatloaf stands above all. I can confidently say they have the best meatloaf in okc. Paired with their mashed potatoes and you have a stunning homey meal.
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Cool decor and venue. Appreciated location to other cool stores and restaurants. Had the Bloody Mary, mozzarella sticks and breakfast bomb. Such a great flavored meal. Server was kind, prompt and attentive. Went during a non-busy time, but have seen this packed before. Nice spot to meet a friend or have a date.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
Pretty good. Not very busy for lunch, which is a plus for me. I had pork belly bowl and a side of biscuits and gravy. The pork belly wasn't really seasoned a lot but cooked to perfection. I like it tasting salty and smoky like bacon, and the sweet potatoes were not seasoned also. They needed butter and brown sugar imo. The biscuits and gravy were definitely home made. Not bad. Better than most places with store bought everything. The gravy didn't have any meat in it but they used the pork belly drippings as it's base. Taste like it was seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder and that's about it. And the biscuits weren't fluffy, more like a focaccia biscuit. I mean all in all not to bad. I'll prob be back and try some other items.
google avatar

Juliana L.

Yelp
I'd like to start with the service. Excellent. I apologize as I did not get our waiters name, but she was always there keeping our drinks full and making sure we had everything we needed. I always get excellent service at The Press Lots of seating, so I've never had to wait long, but I may have also just gone at the right time. We got there about 10.45 AM. I got the pork belly biscuit with sweet potato tots. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad. It to me just tasted a little bland. I REALLY hate to not give compliments to places, but I think the biscuit was okay. That being said everything I've had before at the The Press was amazing. I say it's definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
The shrimp and grits was awesome I will definitely try some other things. Everybody at the table had a great time. The drinks were fun.
google avatar

Thang T.

Yelp
Very nice and modern place for some Southern inspired food. The main thing was everything underseasoned. Service was friendly and relatively fast.
google avatar

MacKenzie S.

Yelp
Went to this place from a recommendation from a friend and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was so kind, the space is so cute. We got aperol spritz's that were so refreshing and the food was both fulfilling and delicious. Would recommend!

Yelp
Went to the PRESS for brunch. It was a super hot day and going inside felt like heaven. We felt like having a little sweet and savory so we ordered the Buffalo Mac n Cheese, cream cheese toast, and short rib quesadilla. The cream cheese toast was delicious!! Not too sweet. The quesadilla was ok, I wouldn't order it again, but the buffalo mac....so dang GOOD!! I've been thinking about it ever since and can't wait to go back again just for that. They use any interesting pasta for the Mac that holds the sauce perfectly. It had the perfect heat and tang just like I like it. And in defense of our server, who was fantastic, she did not recommend the quesadilla. I should have listened to her. My only complaint was that there were a lot of flies. I don't know if that is the norm but I will make sure to go again for that Buffalo Mac and I'll be able to find out when I do so.

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite lunches in OKC, and absolutely my favorite wrap (of all time). PSA - the Press is a great option for groups because it has several gluten-free and vegan options on their menu--and everything single thing I've ever tried has been great! To be honest though, I typically get the same thing because it is truly heaven on earth. The Press allows you to make any of their salads into a wrap and then serves that with a side of their waffle fries. And while the Press Cobb salad is wonderful, the Press Cobb wrap is just next level. It's the perfect meal. A great wrap, two yummy deviled eggs, and a filling side of waffle fries. Add their excellent ranch and you're set!
