"The Pretzel Bakery has opened a second location in Potomac, Maryland. The new 800-square-foot bakery will offer hand-rolled soft pretzels, breakfast sliders, and a 'pretzel bomb' filled with Nutella. It will also serve La Colombe coffee, cold brew, basil lemonade, 'Hotella,' and Italian ice." - Tierney Plumb

These pretzels are GOOD. The people working there are fantastic. The coffee is not the focus but high quality nonetheless. I can't wait to come back for more. My family makes pretzels on the holidays and I am so excited that we found the Pretzel Bakery as they have perfected the crispy outside and warm chewy inside that I wait months to enjoy every year. You all just earned another regular.

Google
Cinnamon glaze pretzel is incredible — very filling. I don’t know any other places around where you can get a pretzel like that because it isn’t cinnamon sugar, it’s a true glaze. Can’t wait to go back and try something else next time!

Google
Hebrew national pretzel dog was amazing. I’m so happy to have that to hear. Five guys discontinued serving Hebrew national dogs so now I can get a great dog nearby. The Nutella hot chocolate amazing what took someone so long to think of that. Great job pretzel bakery.

Google
The pretzels were excellent, especially the sweet (cinnamon glaze) pretzel. My only real complaint is that the pretzels sit out long enough that they're not always hot when you get them, just lukewarm. A quick run through an oven or conveyor toaster would make them quite a bit better to eat in the store. There is very little seating in the store, also.

Google
The sliders were perfect. The slider with Nutella was amazing. Not too sweet and perfect balance. The fly chai was the best. Had a hint of cinnamon. The owner even gave my kids the the pretzel dough to have some fun all together. Great experience!

Google
Came across this place after being completely ignored at a nearby cafe LOL but the pretzels were so tasty!! I was delightfully surprised by the sweet pretzels - they’re not overwhelmingly sweet and the flakes of salt offset the flavor wonderfully. The everything pretzels were tasty; I love everything seasoning and it works well on a pretzel. The salt was a great regular pretzel. The people who worked there were also very nice!

After work, my boyfriend and I checked out The Pretzel Bakery, a bakery that specializes in soft pretzels, mustard and dips, and specialty items. I loved the pretzel door handle to the shop! I was thirsty so I got a Halfsies, which was an interesting twist to an Arnold Palmer. It was made with equal parts iced tea and basil lemonade. I'm not sure that I would order it again. I also bought an Everything Pretzel. It was a soft pretzel topped with poppy seed, sesame seed, onion, and garlic that was served warm and ready to consume. It tasted good with or without cream cheese. Maybe one day they would expand their specialty to include a pretzel crust pizza!

Google
Ordered several dozen for a party and they did not disappoint! Everyone of my guests loved them and wanted to know where they were from! We got the pretzel dogs, some regular salted pretzels and sweet pretzels for the dessert (no cake needed with these)! They were delicious and they even delivered for us! Perfect! Couldn't ask for anything better!

Yelp
Tried salted pretzels- so good! Tried calzone- so good! Pretzel bomb- amazing! Go to this place for fresh, high quality snacks.

Yelp
I decided to come here since I wanted a pretzel and it did not disappoint. It is a small place with only a couple of seats. I got the sweet pretzel and it seemed like a normal size for one person. It had a nice glaze on it and was super tasty. I would definitely go back and try another one, especially for the price. If you are craving a pretzel this place will satisfy your needs.

Yelp
The service is very good. The ambiance is very casual and has a relaxed feeling. The food is very good. For a savory snack, I would recommend the everything pretzel with cream cheese. If you feel like having something sweet, I would go for the sweet pretzel. Overall, the portions are adequate for the price and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Great soft pretzel. Fresh out of the oven and a bit of spicy mustard was quite the treat while walking around this shopping center. $3 is pricey for a pretzel, especially being from Philly. 3 for $8 though!

Yelp
Went to Cabin John today to partake in the Strawberry Festival. What festival? No strawberries to be had when we got there there 2.5 hours after opening. So we took ourselves over to this place to cry over warm, salty pretzels. The pretzels are tasty. Served warm. They are exactly like the DC Pretzel company ones. Exactly. Well, almost. DC Pretzel gives you one pack of French's yellow, and one pack of Gulden's spicy brown mustard for free. Here you pay $0.50 each. I'll pass. Not on the pretzels though. They are filling for just $2.50. Don't bother buying three. You only save fifty cents. But hey, that's a pack of mustard!

Yelp
In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania you can buy hot pretzels on the corner street. We always got ours with mustard and they were so fresh and delicious. So, I had to try The Pretzel Bakery. My pretzel was warm out of the oven and it was very good. I have tried two of the sauces, the spicy mustard and the Nutella. They were both tasty. But, I think I lean more towards the mustard, because that is what I am used too. Service was great and my pretzel was soft and warm. The size of the pretzel is smaller than a traditional hot pretzel at a sports game or pub, so you may want to order multiple in quantity. I liked the variety of the menu, with both pretzel dogs ( with a kosher hot dog inside the pretzel) or a pretzel calzone. I thought it was a lot of fun to order different sauces. The only drawback is that they charge for each sauce and my Nutella dipping sauce was $2.00. That seems like a lot, when the pretzel itself is $2.50. There are many drinks available to purchase from coffee, hot chocolate, and sodas. Having freshly baked pretzels is going to make my trips to CVS very tempting. It brings back happy childhood memories and great taste.

Yelp
This spot recently opened so I went by to check it out. It is located in Cabin John Village and so parking is free. As you enter, the menu is on your left (on the wall). There is a menu for Pretzels, Dips, and Specialties. Another for Cold Drinks, Hot Drinks and Seasonal. On this visit I got their Sweet Pretzel. It is described as having cinnamon-glazed with a kiss of salt. It's like someone held up a pretzel and then pressed on it so a little smaller in size. Looks to be pre-made, but I still enjoyed it. Even though I purchased some dip (Nutella), I didn't need it. I also got one of their hot drinks - the Hotella. Described as their famous hot chocolate made with Nutella. Even though a sleeve was around the cup, it was very hot to the touch which let me know the drink inside was scolding hot - I waited a bit longer to drink as I didn't want to scorch my tongue. When I did, it was delicious. I will be back to check out one of the Specialties on the menu. Notes: * Pretzels are $2.50 each. You can also get 3 for $7; 6 for $13; 9 for $19 or 12 for $24 and the Dips are $1 each. * There are about 4 stools you can sit on (inside) - there is spacing between each.

Yelp
Glad to see a new shop open at Cabin John! It is on the side of the shopping center that has Cava, Sisters and Shake Shack, so parking is a little more hectic. I was picking up carryout from a couple places and had the chance to stop by and order a few pretzels to try. I got one of each of the pretzels. They were wrapped in the cute patterned wax paper and carefully put into a paper bag. They were warm when I got them, but had plenty of time to cool off with the drive home. Even cooled off, they were soft on the inside and had a nice chewy outside. I shared with my mom and niece. I loved them all cause I liked the texture and flavor. They probably would've been even better if I ate them while walking out of the shop! My mom and niece said they were good but they like the buttery greasy version from the large chain pretzel shop more. I'd take The Pretzel Bakery though! I'll be back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
This is a cute little spot for a quick bite. We tried the everything bagel pretzel with pub cheese and the nutella roll with basil lemonade. The pretzel was personal sized, I'd say. It was tasty, but not out of this world, and I did not care for the cheese. It was cold and mustardy. The nutella knot was a great dessert, though. And the basil lemonade was bursting with basil flavor. The prices are right for the portions, and service was pretty quick. If you can brave the Cabin John parking lot, I'd say it's worth a stop in.

Yelp
Yummy!!! My salted pretzels were warm and delicious!!! Perfect amount of salt on them. The cheese dip was tasty. The sweet pretzel was good but not as delicious as the salted pretzel. Staff was friendly and helpful with answering my questions. Def going back :-)

Yelp
I tried the original salted pretzel and the pretzel dog, and both were delicious! The seasoning on the pretzel dog was on point. I do wish the salted pretzel was warmed; I think I received one towards the end of the batch, so it wasn't as warm or soft as I wanted it to be. Still tasty though. I also tried their cheese dip and caramel mustard dip. The cheese dip isn't really a dip; it's very thick so it's more like a spread, and it has a sharp cheddar cheese flavor. The caramel mustard is a sweet type of mustard, similar to honey mustard; it tasted perfect with the pretzels. The interior is small but warm and bright, a nice place to chill while you wait for your order. Service was friendly and fast, and overall, I would definitely recommend The Pretzel Bakery for a quick and tasty bite to eat or to satisfy your pretzel cravings.

Yelp
The shop is small with limited seating, but it is worth a quick visit! The pretzel dough they have is excellent, as they stay soft without being dry, like other pretzel places. The breakfast sliders are tasty and cheap, and the pretzel dog was great! The service is pretty quick, so you don't have to wait long. Overall, I'd say this is a nice, cheap, and high quality pretzel stop!

Yelp
We love the pretzel bakery. The pretzels are light and fluffy. They even modify the pretzel dogs/bombs if you ask instead of everything seasoning, they'll make them to order with just salt or even no seasoning at all if you request it. The staff there have always been so kind and respectful in addition to the food being great which is why I always go back!

Niki P.

Yelp
Very delicious and well made pretzels, would definitely love to try more menu items! Quick to get the food out and staff very welcoming and friendly. They were also patient with us trying to decide what we wanted. Small location overall but well kept and clean, they did a lot with the space they had.

Yelp
Haven't tried everything on the menu, but what we have tried has been very tasty. Good pretzels, well priced and the people who work there are very nice.

Herb T.

Yelp
New next door to my bank and cvs so I thought I'd try it. Since it was early I went for their breakfast sliders. Their portions are appropriate. The glutton in me wants giant carbo loading but these sliders and their sweet pretzel was tasty and sufficient. Fair prices and good service. Didn't try their coffee yet. But I recommend and will stop by again.

Angelica D.

Yelp
The pretzel calzone is hands down the best thing there. I would say the pretzel isn't as buttery as I'd like it or what I'm used to. This place does satisfy your warm pretzel cravings, so definitely stop in.

Izzie K.

Yelp
Came in at random to just get a nice little snack, the environment was great and was a really good price! Their pub cheese was okay but I feel like it could be better but that's just my acquired taste! Service was great! Location was great! Prices also great! If you just want a snack or small bites this 100% where I'd go.

James J.

Yelp
Pretzels are fantastic. I got the slider bacon egg and cheese which was good. Only slight criticism is that bacon was very undercooked. Staff was friendly and store was extremely clean. I hope they keep brining places like this to Cabin John.

Amy H.

Yelp
These pretzels are amazing! I'm so glad I discovered this place! I felt bad taking my clan of 7 into order, but the staff handled our order like champs! They were friendly and efficient. We tried the sweet tea latte, hotella, the sweet, the salty, and the everything pretzels! The pretzels are freshly made and so delicious! Fun fact: the pretzels are shaped slightly differently. They look a bit squished compared to what we are used to in MD because that's how they are done in Philly. Also, I bet it helps to fit more on a baking sheet. That a great thing because these pretzels go fast! Enjoy!

Yelp
I wonder about if I ate a staled bagel dog. Right after I ate it I had a real bad stomach ache and had to go u know what. I advice next time if the bagel dog has to be heat up couple minute I would op for something that don't have meat in it. Too bad, i have to give a two star rating bcoz their service is excellent but just the bagel dog is the issue.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
The pretzels were alright but nothing made me feel like a whole restaurant could be built around them. The kids at the front barely respond to customers and are not engaging. There is also nowhere to sit. It's good for a quick snack.

M K.

Yelp
Good pretzels and calzones. They go great together. I can't think of anything else to say but I need more characters for the review so...yum!

MiMi N.

Yelp
These were meh. Didn't taste like a pretzels, more like a bagel or just bread. Nothing special. They were hot and fresh and the price is reasonable. Service is friendly but I would not go back. There was nothing special about them.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Just purchased two Pretzels. Both undercooked and flavorless. If you specialize in one thing...you should try and get it right.....blah....

Emily M.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! Pretzel was amazing I can't wait for another one. My only suggestion would be the cheese they offer as a dip isn't really a dip at all it's a very firm spreadable cheese that would need a knife to spread. It would be awesome to have a more dippy cheese available too :)

Michael G.

Yelp
I would have given this place more stars, but the fact that you pay $6 for a pretzel dog and they charge you 50 cents extra for mustard is ridiculous. I don't ever remember having to pay extra for condiments in any place I have been to especially one so common and cheap as mustard.

Ellis B.

Yelp
Best veggie calzone I have ever had. I also really like the lemonade. Atmosphere is casual and fun. Good decorations.

Madeline W.

Yelp
Delicious and unique bakery! The coffee is great too.

Deborah W.

Yelp
I guess any new business opening in this location is going to have to have similar price points to stay afloat, but... my son's pretzel was literally half the size of one equally as tasty you could get on the street in NYC for the same price, the lemonade we shared cost more than his pretzel, and that six dollar pretzel dog? The hot dog inside the pretzel was barely warm.

Nina B.

Yelp
The pretzels good. I was disappointed in the choice to change their hours given the number of schools that are in close proximity to the shopping center in individuals who work outside of The 8 AM to 5 PM hours. I hope they focus reconsider their choices at the start of the next school year and do a better job of advertising they're Options for warning foods as I believe their businesses will pick up
