Why Food Sharing Is at the Heart of the Disability Justice Movement | Eater

"A university-based disability community venue that hosted a disability justice panel where an organizer emphatically urged practical mutual aid — exemplified by making someone a pot of soup — as a direct way to support disabled people, cutting through hesitant, theoretical Q&A with a clear, action-oriented message." - Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha

A Magical Spring Tradition! 🌸 Every year, my family friends and I make it a tradition to visit the University of Washington during cherry blossom season—and it never fails to amaze us. The campus transforms into a dreamy landscape, with rows of delicate pink cherry blossoms in full bloom. It’s truly mesmerizing! We love strolling through the beautiful paths, sipping coffee, taking photos, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The UW campus itself is stunning year-round, but in spring, it feels like something out of a fairytale. A perfect place to relax, connect with nature, and create lasting memories. Highly recommend making the trip if you’ve never been. One of Seattle’s most beautiful seasonal experiences! 💕🌸

Check out the video! Blooming cherry blossoms in Univyof Washington is an unforgettable occasion. It is crowded especially on weekends, and on sunny days. If you want solitude be there early- right at the sunrise! Or walk around when it’s raining. Still beautiful. Maximum bloom happens usually in April. Parking available under the red square, it’s about $14 full day. Or street parking in University district, pay by meter.

I visited during peak bloom Cherry Blossom season. I love the old buildings and general vibe of the quad! The two big pink trees were my favorites. The U district is pretty cool! It is walkable and lots of shops , cafes, restaurant, and etc. Definitely skip DC and go here instead! 🌸🩷☺️

We visited the quad during the cherry blossom bloom. It was a pretty sight to see and I would definitely recommend folks to visit this place at least once. They have decent parking available and it’s not very far from the light rail station so commuting isn’t that difficult.

I know we love the cherry blossoms, but everyone please remember, THIS IS AN ACTIVE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. People are going to need to go to class. So I would encourage you to come later in the day, so students are not needing to get past you. You can also enjoy the sunset with the cherry blossoms if you do! -One of the students.
