Great weekend in Carmel. Quail lodge was very nice. So many nice touches. The bungalow room we received with a king superior rate was large with robes & slippers & plenty of storage. We used the hotels electric bikes and enjoyed them. The wine hour was nice. We really enjoyed the breakfasts we had at the hotel too. Staff was nice. The pool area looked really nice although we didn’t use but my husband enjoyed the sauna. Would definitely stay again.

We have been coming to quail for 20 years. It's absolutely beautiful. The staff are great, even handling a small problem which they took care of quickly. They are the perfect sized resort , not too big not too small. Access to their beautiful golf course, free fun putting course on property, gym, pool, spa, and large rooms make it the all around best choice out of the entire carmel area. You won't be disappointed ! We never have. 🙂

My husband and I stayed at The Quail this last August and had the best vacation in this magnificent resort! When we got there we were generously upgraded to the Deluxe Suit which has a wide bay window that we both loved, a view of the golf course, and a beautiful patio. The room was full of light and very comfortable. |We spent time at the pool - the water was warm and so nice to swim in. I loved it. We took e-bikes and rode along the golf course road and into the park at the end of it. We took long walks every day and watched the golfers. My husband wanted to play pickleball but that did not work out. We drove to Monterey to see the sea lions, 500 of them came to visit. We ate in great restaurants, in and out of the resort, and visited some local wineries. We enjoyed the weather and the location. ||I very highly recommend The Quail to golfers and non-golfers alike.

We stayed at Quail lodge for two nights, the staff are very friendly and helpful, we messed up our booking and they kindly sorted that for us with minimal fuss. The parking lot has EV charging. The rooms are clean and spacious, we had a balcony that overlooked the pool. Only downside is the busy road nearby, can be a bit tricky to pull out into the traffic but didn’t cause too much of an issue. Overall we would recommend staying here!

This was our 8th visit to The Quail Lodge Resort, and it’s easy to see why we keep coming back! From the moment we arrive, the customer service is always exceptional—staff members are friendly, attentive, and make us feel right at home. The resort’s atmosphere is calm, peaceful, and perfect for truly unwinding.||The spa services are wonderful and leave us feeling completely refreshed every time. We also love the fun 9-hole putting course—it’s such a great way to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.||Each visit reminds us why this is one of our favorite places to escape. The combination of excellent service, a relaxing environment, and enjoyable amenities makes The Quail Lodge Resort a true gem. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

We stayed at Quail Lodge to celebrate our daughter’s kindergarten graduation and had such a wonderful experience. The location was perfect for us—close to Carmel-by-the-Sea and Pebble Beach—and the dog-friendly suites were spacious and comfortable.||Our daughter loved the scavenger hunt, mini golf, and nightly s’mores, while we enjoyed the pool, steam rooms, and wine hour. The grounds are expansive and beautifully maintained, and we really appreciated how family-friendly the property felt.||What impressed us most was the service. When we had a flat tire at checkout, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and back on the road safely. Between the beautiful setting, fun activities, and exceptional hospitality, we can’t wait to come back!

Check in was welcoming and friendly. Personally I've wanted to stay here for a couple years and on my birthday this year we made it happen for a couple days. Note to self; booking through a third party doesn’t work very well especially with fees that aren’t given to the customer- please remember that. Paid $88 for resort fees. The hotel check in should do a reminder of this at the time of getting room keys etc. All good though. I was (upgraded) as a birthday gift to the pavilion king with a box of Chocolate and wine which was sweet. The bathtub was beautifully placed but definitely for a single person only it is not spacious. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The first night was so bad the morning after ended up with such a stiff back we had to go get KT tape which helped the next couple days. The room was mediocre there really is nothing special about it. It’s sitting on a multi million dollar property so the greens fairway and ponds are beautiful. The property upkeep is impeccable. Pickleball courts! You’ve got to drive to get to the courts but it’s nice to know they have them. Tennis too. Golf obviously 😊 We chose not to eat on site. The happy hour provides white and red wine, we met some nice people. There was a crowd of hotel guests (at least 60 and older) outside for the happy hour. The swimming pool is heated we tried that once. The spa Adeline we only tried for the steam room which was inadequate in the women’s locker room. Super unfortunate. The views on the outside and driving into the property are stunning. The staff walking around mind their business but aren’t full of cheer and welcoming. The property had a station you can use to clean your windshields but no solution available. Overall I’d give this place 3 stars. For the price I’ll pay a few hundred more a night and go to a luxurious resort next time. Cheers!

This has to be one of the most dog friendly hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Our little fur baby loved every minute. The restaurant Covey’s Grill served high quality dishes and the services were top notch. All the staffs were super friendly. We look forward to going back to the Quail Lodge for our annual road trip. Thank you Quail Lodge for making our stay memorable!

Yelp
I was here only for one night. Parking is free! The lobby does not have coffee, only in the early morning like 5 AM. They have hot water and tea though. The receptionist was nice during check in. They give free s'mores kits. There are campfires around the property. I had a relaxing night! Room: I had a room with two queens. It was very spacious! There was a separate shower and bathtub in the bathroom. There were black out curtains on the windows. I didn't realize there was a window on the ceiling until the sun shown down in the morning. Then I also noticed there were blinds to block out the sun on that too! The bed was so comfy. The blanket was so warm and seemed like down feather. They gave us two complimentary glass bottles of Martinelli's apple cider. Amenities: -Fitness center. I was here at night, so it was very dark. I only saw one small room with cardio equipment. No weights. -Spa. There was no water dispenser and no hair dryer. In the women's locker room, there were lockers, one shower, new bathrobes, one pair of slippers (that we saw), and fresh towels. The steam room was small but could fit at 4-5 people. -Pool. The pool is heated. I wish they had a jacuzzi! -Golf. I think they had a 9-hole course on the property, but I did not partake in this. -Golf shop/Golf club. This is a 10 minute walk from the lodge. You can rent and purchase equipment here. -Tennis/pickleball. Equipment is free to borrow. No shade for the pickleball court. One tennis court is covered in shade by itself. Not sure about lighting. No wind guards. -Restaurants. See website for hours. When I checked out around 11-12PM, the restaurant was closed.

Yelp
This is a fantastic course! Manicured extremely well! Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are excellent. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Driving range is all grass, unlimited balls, and long enough to hit all your clubs. The course has a really fun layout but it is very short so big hitters should play from the tips. Greens are fast. This is the most underrated golf course in the Carmel/Monterey area. It can be very pricey but you can also find extremely reasonable deals which can make this course the best bang for your buck in the area. If you have not played the course I highly recommend giving it a try. Food at their restaurant, Edgar's, is very solid golf course food. The pace of play is really good even on the weekends.

Yelp
Beautiful place.. not sure if the golf course is exclusive to members only but we inquired about the driving range and was told it's open to the public. They charge $25 per person, unlimited balls. A little pricey compared to the other driving ranges around but worth the try since we were in the area. There's a limit to how far you can hit your ball (180 yards) because it's not a big enough space and there are houses nearby. The pro shop looked well stocked with golf clothes, footwear, accessories. I'm sure there were golf clubs (I didn't really look, but I'm pretty sure I saw some bags). Lastly, they have strict dress code- both at the course and at the range- no denim, no t-shirt's, no sweats. Didn't know this prior to coming here.

Yelp
Thank you everyone at Quail Lodge for the most amazing sister vacation . We had never been to Carmel and had called several hotels before settling on Quail Lodge because of Karlton's hands on customer service ! Check in to check out did not disappoint - loved the room , loved the grounds , loved the attention to detail - highly recommend this resort and can't wait to return with my husband for some golf. Everyone was soooooo kind !

Yelp
Always an awesome time at Quail . From the golf to the Restaurants . About the hours for food and beverage are hard to figure out. From the Lodge restaurant to the Edgars at the golf course. But overall great place. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
I love golf, and because of that, I am willing to play just about anywhere. Dirt patches with splotches of grass are getting more and more common with the California drought, so it was time for something a little nicer. That's when Quail Lodge came into play. Situated in the valleys of Carmel, Quail Lodge is a beautiful area for visitors of multiple activities--such as renting Range Rovers, which conveniently and hilariously is an option at the Quail Lodge parking lot. The clubhouse is quite nice, and the downstairs area is somewhat entrancing in its narrow, maze-like design with multiple members-only rooms. With the tee time came free balls at the grass range; there were multiple targets to fire at, but I was too distracted freezing my fingers off. The putting green was also quite nice and featured flat areas as well as some quick hills. There also was a chipping and pitching area complete with a bunker. I appreciated the free water, plastic ball markers, and tees--nice touch. The course itself is quite gorgeous. Very lush fairways, rough that doesn't pose as US Open-thick rough, mountains surrounding. When it comes to golf, the course is quite fair. None of the holes are absurdly long, the fairways are pretty wide, and the very soft greens aren't postage stamps. That said, the bunker placement is very strategic and right where most golfers where land, the greens are extremely quick and tough to read, and the par 3's are pretty long. I really enjoyed the design of the course, which emphasized hitting golf shots without punishing you for them if they're just a fraction off. I'm just not a fan of the courses that insert ravines and forced carries just for the heck of it, and thankfully, Quail Lodge doesn't fall victim to that. What you do have is a litany of dog-leg lefts and rights, a few uphill holes, and even a couple that are straightforward with those accursed bunkers right where you'll hit your tee shot and shots to the green. As I said before, those greens are true but very tough; I had a few misreads, and I realized I needed to pace all around the big greens to get a true feel for what was going on. I loved how my shots were sticking into the green and stopping or rolling back; all too often at other courses, they bounce off often because the green really has no water at all (which is fine, but takes a different style of golf). Also, my twosome played in just over three hours! That's amazing!!! A few non-major things that can be improved: one hole didn't have a ball washer for some reason, the construction/maintenance on the course (heavy machinery digging holes, lawnmowers) kind of got in the way (I almost hit some poor guys...haha), one hole had a lake that was almost dried up and I was dumb enough to go in after a ball and sunk to my ankles because the mud was so soft...Yeaaaah that was my bad, but a warning would have been nice too. This place is definitely up there in terms of California golf courses. Strongly recommend it if you ever get the chance!

Yelp
It was our mission to make it back to Quail Lodge and I'm glad we didn't wait too long to make our return. It's been nearly a year since we were in the area. We were familiarized with the checking in part since we've been there before. I really regret not writing down the name of the starter. He was a cheery dude who gave us plenty of tips before we teed off. Again, exceptionally warm and friendly staff. Can't ask for more. I found myself playing shorter but strategically placing shots for the follow-up shots. Numerous times, the big stick never came out the bag but rather the 3 wood was good enough. We teed off the blues (second longest). There are a total of 6 different tee boxes you can choose from. . We verified distances with our range finders and the yardage were almost aligned. The course this time felt a little more picturesque. Lovely landscapes and postcard worthy back drops. The greens were running smooth and the overall golf course was in pristine condition. What I like about Quail Lodge Course is that even though they run on the same property, they play and feel quite different from one another. I would highly recommend playing and experiencing both if can!

Yelp
This review is for the golf club. For the cost of this course - def better options somewhere else. Pretty stuffy for no good reason. It is one of those clubs where there are members but you can also get a public tee time. Booked it and was supposed to be paired with a group but they said they didn't want to play with us and then the people behind got mad because we had to start after them. Lots of attitude that seemed unnecessary. So many other better places around here. Go to CVR instead.

Yelp
Reviewing the golf course not the lodge. One of the golf courses in the best shape(lush green fairways) for June in the Carmel valley area and putting was fast and true..Very nice clean sand bunkers with sand not dirt. A fun challenging track, best deals as a club Corp guest...Friendly staff, dog friendly, easy parking, nice practice facility, etc...

Paul C.

Yelp
Golf Course was in amazing shape and the greens were better than Pebble Beach and Spyglass and the fairways are plush, this is a must play course!! The staff was friendly and very accommodating, will be back in August!!!!!

Derrick W.

Yelp
Course is nice and fun to play. Excellent practice facility. A little over priced. Worst course Marshalls anywhere. Rude when there is no reason to be.

Leslie F.

Yelp
Beautiful, immaculate, lavender and rosemary lined walkways, delicious continental breakfast. ....very attentive staff. The golf course is beautiful, a great challenge and perfectly maintained We are enjoying our visit!

Yelp
This is a beautiful old school golf course. Back in the Carmel Valley, this course is always in great shape, nice practice facility. The staff is always friendly and professional. The food in the restaurant is fabulous.

Yelp
This is a review of the golf course and their staff. The practice facility offers a limited distance grass driving range, pitching area and nicely maintained greens. The staff are wonderful. My son received a lesson from Drew. My wife and I took a semi private lesson with their award winning, Director of Instruction, Katherine Marren. They were both exceptional instructors. The golf course is gorgeous. Although, we have yet to experience a round of golf on this semi private course. We will post more after our next trip.

Yelp
GOLF: The Good: Overall a fair and fun course in fantastic condition. We played Pasatiempo recently and that was awesome, but actually enjoyed Quail more in terms of playability. Great staff - friendly & gracious. Parking and the Range are both strategically located, no walking for a mile to get to the ProShop, range, carts etc. Oh, Except the bathrooms, it's a labyrinth. They joke about that as we did too. The Course: Busy on a Friday (as usual we're told) but moved along with minimal wait times. Condition was A+. PGA tour bunkers and greens. I checked this course off as #96th I've played and the greens and bunkers were in the top 3 I've seen. Unfortunately I never got the speed down but they rolled completely smooth and true. Only negative was some overwatering around the greens with the turf sliding around (muddy underneath). The (not sooo bad): Food & Beverage: Needs attention. For this caliber of operation, below par. More like your semi-disorganized Muni that is doing the bare minimum. The snack bar had some decent choices but the staff was SLOW and it seemed overwhelmed with only 2 people in front of us. They were nice but It took 2-3 minutes just to navigate the computerized cash register to just pay for a hot dog (seriously). Got a Bloody Mary from the beverage cart that was, well, barely serviceable (BYOB:). Not ready for prime time for sure. I'd give it 41/2 stars, 5 when they upgrade the F&B.

Yelp
I absolutely loved staying at Quail Lodge. It's very clean, great service, great continental breakfast and golf course. It's been updated with new TVs and has very comfy beds and seating. They are dog friendly and have a huge dog park on the property. The only thing I think they should address is how thin the walls are as you can hear your neighbors talk as well as the slow wifi.

Yelp
Never played golf here but helped out at a fundraiser here several years back. Old school charm nestled between luxe houses.

Yelp
THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE GOLF COURSE AND NOTHING ELSE This is one of the nicest courses I have ever had the honor of playing. I wish I could afford a membership here but...... Anyhow, I was invited to play here several times with a friend who has some sort of connection with the place, so each time I go to Cali, I get to play here for FREE (yeeee-haw!). The fairways are just like carpet; the greens you could nap on, and the rough is-- rough! Quail is not an easy course at all. Expect to have your skills put to the test here. It may look like you could coast on through, but if you are like me, and don't hit the fairways often, you are not going to like your score. If you are playing here, don't arrive like you are going to be playing Salinas Fairways, because this ain't the same place! There is a dress code here, strictly enforced. Leave the torn blue-jeans and wife-beater at home. Be prepared to be wearing slacks (or slack-shorts) and a collard shirt (easy enough). The first time I played here, I was wearing denim shorts and they wouldn't allow me to play, I had to shell out nearly $40 to get some nice shorts; though they were marked at $100, my buddy gets a FAT discount in the pro-shop (thank god). So I was still able to play. If you have an opportunity to play here DO NOT TURN IT DOWN.

Yelp
This accommodation met or exceeded all expectations . Away from the bustle of Carmel the ambience was relaxing and tranquil . Golf and land rover experience on the door step. Organic continental breakfast was different but worked. Heated pool and gym more than adequate . I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Course remodel is fantastic. This is without a doubt, the best conditioned track on the Pennisula. I understand that rates and membership prices will be going up so join or play soon. Not super long, but bunkers and greens make it a solid and fun course to play.
