The Queensberry Hotel (Bath, UK) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Long before that other Queensberry fellow lent his name to the rules of boxing, another marquis commissioned a row of townhouses from John Wood the Younger. Now these four Georgian houses, joined together, comprise the Queensberry — a result which, unless you’re a particular devotee of the sweet science, rather tips the balance in favor of the hospitable Queensberry, and away from the pugilistic one." - Tablet Hotels

Queensberry Hotel | Best places to stay in Bath

"Contemporary style is hard to find in a city as historic as this, but this hotel has it nailed. It’s a collection of four interconnected Georgian townhouses in a fantastic central spot close to all the key attractions, on a classic Bath street. Inside, multiple staircases lead to uniquely designed rooms with hand-painted wallpaper and zingy colours, as well as ceiling roses and period features. It’s young, fresh and relaxed; history made over. " - Sian Lewis

Great location about a 10 minute walk to everything. Multistoried hotel with elevator. Rooms are a decent size and the bed and down pillows are comfortable. Not 5 stars for room only because there is no AC, but they have a nice fan in the room that works well and you can open windows. Quiet location with super accommodating staff. I am a bit needy when I travel so I ask a lot of hotels. They were helpful and friendly not bothered which is important. I even bought 3 hand lotions from them because the products were so good.

We went to the Queensberry for a night to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, stayed in the stunning 4 poster bed room with a vast and beautiful bathroom. |From the moment we arrived everything was fabulous. The service is very friendly and incredibly attentive without feeling too formal, I felt like I was being welcomed to a friend's house rather than a hotel. ||They had kindly left half a bottle of fizz for us which we drank in the freestanding bath, a lovely touch! We ate at the Olive Tree which was superb, each course was really very interesting and so delicious, we felt nearer 2*s than 1. Service again was very friendly but not too formal, no stuffy white tablecloths, it was all very fun and relaxed.||We also loved the bar, the barman made great cocktails and was very chatty and friendly (and it transpired we had a friend in common!)||Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented with a good choice. I liked the fact you could just choose and pay for what you wanted, though ours was included I often don't want a huge breakfast after a big dinner the night before and so many hotels have a minimum charge type of deal. ||I would not hesitate to recommend The Queensberry, I'm sure we will be back!

What a beautiful hotel. We had read that it was one of the best in Bath according to a respected Sunday newspaper. We were drawn with the city centre location and the authentic building. It did not disappoint.|Hotel arranged concierge parking for a reasonable price. They took it away and brought it back to the front next day at an agreed time.|Our room was overlooking the courtyard and had wonderful big windows. Bathroom was spacious with bath and shower. A bonus was the provision of my favourite hand wash/beauty products from The Bath House in Cumbria.|Dressing gowns were supplied and a portable fan that was needed due extremely hot conditions.|On arrival, we were offered a glass of fizz. We declined but took them up later that evening. Our welcome host took us to the bedroom and explained the hotel's facilities.|Breakfast was in the Michelin star restaurant, The Olive Tree, which was part of the hotel. Beautifully presented and especially loved the porridge.|We were delighted with our one night stay and plan to return.

We loved this hotel. It's up the hill from the city center on a quiet street. The rooms are fantastic, as is the breakfast and the little bar with various sitting areas. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant as we had two kids and it seemed a bit fancy for the whole family, but it was hopping every night (and based on the breakfast, I bet the dinner is great). Will stay here again the next time we return to Bath. One final note: The rooms do require walking up flights of stairs, often multiple. I believe there is a small elevator for those who do not wish to walk.

A superb hotel. All the staff were polite, professional but relaxed enough to be friendly and accommodating. We booked a Master Deluxe room which although a the front of the hotel, was lovely and quiet. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished. The bed was so comfortable that I asked what the matress was. Small but often overlooked details like decent loo paper were a plus. I particularly liked the motion sensitive skirting lights in the bathroom - surely nobody likes full lighting in the middle of the night. My only criticism is that softer lighting (lower wattage bulbs) would have been nice in the bedside lights. That's it. Everything else was perfect and we're looking forward to returning. |PS. We only had breakfast which was delicious.|PPS The parking system works well too and it's only a few minutes' walk to the city centre.

Amazing experience from the time we arrived until the time we left. Staff are very friendly; we had a lovely warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is located a short walk from the centre of Bath. We opted for valet parking which saved us faffing around finding a parking space. Fab choice for breakfast. Great courtyard seating areas where we were able to enjoy drinks both evenings. The on site Olive Tree restaurant is an absolute delight. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had an amazing 20th wedding anniversary at the Queensberry in Bath. The location is excellent with the Circus, the Crescent and the city centre all within 10 minutes walk. The service was exceptional and the staff were all wonderful to us. We only had breakfast in the Olive Tree restaurant (which was delicious) but the taster menu for dinner looked fantastic. We had a room at the very top of the hotel and the view was brilliant, the room was clean, a good size with a completely separate bathroom with rain shower and free standing bath. All in all The Queensberry is the hotel we would return to anytime we visit Bath.

First of all, I must praise the loveliness of the staff who were sincerely warm and helpful. The footed tub in our room was heavenly! Honestly, the greatest flaw I would attribute to this hostelry (which clearly aims to please) was the AWFUL COUNTRY & WESTERN MUSIC in the breakfast room. Why, why, why? If there MUST be music at every meal, I would suggest light classical music in the morning. I would add that the breakfast might easily be improved; the quality was there but not variety.

Yelp
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in my entire life. First, the decor and overall vibe of this hotel is artsy, unique, chic, and somehow homey all at the same time. Second, the location and views are great. You can walk to so many good shops and restaurants, but the hotel itself is on a quiet street that has a neighborhood feel. Third, the attention to detail is immaculate. Radio set of perfect music when you arrive? Check. Antique brass keys? Check. Luggage handlers who are so polite you feel like you're a member of royalty? Check. A helpful sightseeing guide for fans of Bridgerton? Check. I really cannot emphasize enough how amazing the hotel and staff were. I arrived sweaty and covered in literal mud from a cross country hike feeling incredibly out of place in such a gorgeous hotel and the staff made me feel like I was arriving at my own home. I loved this hotel so much I wish I had extended my time in Bath specifically so I could enjoy this beautiful property for a few extra days. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING SPOT.

Yelp
I stayed in many hotels and Airbnb on my trip to the UK. The queensberry was hands down my favorite. It's very reasonably priced for the level of service and quality of the room. The staff is absolutely wonderful, the bed and linens are extremely comfortable, the room is spacious and the amenities are very nice. The location is great and the rooms are extremely quiet. I used the laundry service since I was a week or so into my trip. They did an incredible job, they even got an old stain out of my jeans that I never expected to come out! I can't say enough great things about this hotel! I can not wait to return!

Yelp
Charming hotel, but even better owner/staff!!! First of all, there is no denial just how absolutely charming Queensberry hotel is. From the quiet, yet perfectly located, street it's on to the first moment you stepped into the historic, story-book-like property, Queensberry hotel is more than an accommodation, it is an experience... especially if you're coming from big North American cities, staying at the Queensberry transfers you to another world, going back in history. However, what truly differentiates a good hotel from a great one is its people. And not when everything goes smoothly, but when you - as a visitor traveling 3000 miles from another continent - encounter a problem. The way a hotel deals with crisis, their attitude towards their customers (in distress), the empathy they show and how they choose to handle the situation are the true indicators of an amazing hotel, and THAT is what keeps you coming back again and again. On that front, if i could i would rate The Queensberry 6 out of 5 stars! I can't lie, there had been some small hiccups during my stay with the Queensberry, one being a mistake they unfortunately made when processing my payment. It was supposed to be a stressful situation. But, the immediate and series actions the hotel staff took - and Laurence (the owner of Queensberry) himself - really touched me. To be honest, I am more impressed by the hotel/Laurence now than if i hadn't had the incident. The way Laurence handled the situation was honestly better than lots of the 5-star hotels i've stayed at in North America. Thanks Laurence, Magaly, Monica for turning the situation around with the most amount of care and grace a customer could ask for. I would highly recommend The Queensberry if you are in Bath, UK!

Yelp
My sister and I came to visit Bath for a day before we moved on to York. What was supposed to be an easy going trip quickly turned into stress because, long story short, our air bnb host left us wandering around town with our heavy luggage for two hours. We decided to wait it out and have lunch first but quickly realized that walking around bath with luggage is not an ideal situation at all. While going to get lunch, we just happened to come across Queensberry Hotel. I had no idea what to expect but I asked my sister to see if any rooms were available, as I could feel myself about to explode in frustration. The ladies that were there were MORE than accommodating. They immediately understood our situation, took our bags and told us to relax with a cup of tea and/or coffee. They actually gave us a bit of an upgrade on our room, which was more than I could've asked for. After we took our lunch, we got the keys to our room and wow- our room was absolutely perfect. Great view, neat, roomy...we had everything we wanted/needed in a hotel room. Absolutely fantastic staff and hotel. Highly, highly recommended

Yelp
Great hotel on a quiet street in Bath, close to the Fashion Museum. The architecture is interesting in itself. My mom and I were on the top floor in #23 with a view over the rooftops. Our room had two beds, a sofa, desk, and plenty of closet space. Evenings include "turning down the bed" service, but no chocolate on the pillow ;) The bathroom had a pitched ceiling (roof overhead) and getting in and out of the tub/shower was a bit dicey, especially for my mom. Also we were disappointed when we passed on the two breakfast options (10 or 15 pounds) and ordered pots of coffee and toast instead, only to find out they charged the full amount for each of us (20 pounds total) - and that was the day the espresso machine was broken so it was a very mediocre cup of coffee! But for the rest, the staff were helpful and friendly and we had a good stay.
