The Rabbit Hole Sports Bar and Venue Is Now Open in North Loop | Eater Twin Cities

"Opened Friday, February 7 in the former Axebridge Wine Co. space at 411 N. Washington Avenue, this 15,000-square-foot sports bar and live-entertainment venue includes a 3,000-square-foot patio and a planned multi-level patio opening this spring with seating for several hundred. An ever-changing ultra-transparent film LED screen lights the entrance; inside are 42 TVs (65–85 inches), a 200-inch LED board behind the stage, a main bar lined with 12 hanging TVs, three Vestaboards, and a sports score ticker for real-time updates. Capacity is up to 700; design is by EK Interiors with architecture by Little Box Inc.; communal spaces and loungey booths create an over-the-top, high-voltage vibe meant to grab customers’ attention the minute they walk in. Chef Thomas Pivec (Lord Fletcher’s on Lake Minnetonka) designed a menu that ranges from classic bar bites—jumbo salted pretzels, smoked chicken wings, and a smash burger—to novelty items like a 10-inch mozzarella stick that can stretch up to 8 feet, and more extravagant entrees including a 14-ounce grilled ribeye with truffle fries and bearnaise and the venue’s take on tater tot hot dish; brunch service will launch in the coming months. Beverage highlights include a signature Old Fashioned featuring Heigold Bourbon from the on-site distillery and Filthy Cherries, three hidden off-the-menu cocktails that can be discovered and ordered via QR code, a rotating selection of 12 beers on draft (including local brews like Castle Danger Cream Ale), and wine. Programming is community-oriented with trivia night, Bingo, local cover bands, and DJs; Super Bowl Sunday (February 9) launched with happy hour from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and first-come, first-served tables. Owners are Deepak and Sara Nath, Joe Berg, Thomas Pivec, Craig Dauffenbach, and Jay Ettinger, a group with other Twin Cities projects including Bootleggers, The Pourhouse, The Exchange & Alibi Lounge, and the Lumber Exchange Event Center. Hours: 3 p.m.–2 a.m. Monday–Thursday; 11 a.m.–2 a.m. Friday–Sunday." - Serena Maria Daniels

"A new 15,000-square-foot sports bar and entertainment venue in the North Loop will occupy the former Axebridge Wine Co. space and feature elevated classics and local comfort foods from chef Thomas Pivec (operating partner of Lord Fletcher’s on Lake Minnetonka). We stopped here for happy hour after a twins game and had a great time. The nachos and wings were great! The place has a younger vibe with lots of seating for any size group. Will very likely be back.

We had an amazing time at The Rabbit Hole! The atmosphere is very exciting and the staff are fabulous! The bartender Blake brings a lot of energy and engages with his patrons. The music was great and the restaurant is so spacious. The chicken tenders are amazing! We are definitely going back! You need to check this place out!

Overall, this is the go-to hangout spot and definitely the most popular bar on the block. The security team is approachable and professional, making the atmosphere welcoming right from the start. The staff not only do their jobs well but also seem to genuinely enjoy being there, which sets this place apart from other bars in the area. I’ve built a great rapport with the team, especially with Zay, who stands out as a friendly and engaging conversationalist while remaining professional in his role.

I haven’t yet had the chance to visit the Rabbit Hole myself, but I can say with confidence that Jacquelyn is one of the best bartenders you’ll ever meet. She’s my daughter, and I’ve watched her bring the same qualities she’s known for in life—her friendliness, attentiveness, and work ethic—into everything she does behind the bar. I constantly hear from others how welcoming she is, how she makes people feel at home, and how she mixes a drink with both skill and care. If you’re looking for great service paired with a warm, genuine personality, you’ll be in excellent hands with Jacquelyn at the Rabbit Hole. I couldn’t be prouder of her, and I can’t wait to come in and experience it myself!

We had a fabulous time at the rabbit hole - the food was great and the Bloody Mary was even better. Special shout out to our bartender, Terrell, who was great and recommended a chambong! 10/10

The service has been absolutely fantastic. Jacquelyn is the best! running circles around the rest! You’ll know she’s your bartender because you’ll be greeted with the best smile and never an empty drink. The burgers are awesome and love the tequila options.

Awesome food with tasty flavor. Ordered a pesto toast sandwich, it was fantastic. Will order more food again and watching NBA game was also fun.

Walking into Rabbit Hole is like entering a social experiment called “How Long Will You Stand Here Before Anyone Acknowledges You?” The hostesses make direct eye contact, then immediately act like they’ve just seen a ghost. A simple “hi” seems to be above their pay grade. When service does happen, it takes two of them to do the job of one and somehow still feels like a group project where no one did the homework. The bartenders? Legends of avoidance. They’ll happily stand at the end of the bar, chit-chatting like they’re at a slumber party, while you sit in front of an empty glass wondering if you accidentally turned invisible. Pro tip: bring a flare gun if you want a refill. Décor note: the mirror is so dirty it could double as a crime scene exhibit. And the “owners’ wife” deserves her own sitcom—called “How to Yell at Your Staff in Front of Strangers.” Now, for the positives: pull tabs are solid, Sunday happy hour is actually pretty great, the music sometimes slaps, and the people-watching is top-tier. In short: come for the cheap entertainment, not the service. At Rabbit Hole, the only thing faster than the drinks disappearing is the staff’s will to acknowledge you exist.

Yelp
First time checking this place out and it was awesome! I have been here before when it was a wine bar. They have so many tvs so they can play all the sports and it was nice and clean! Our waitress was so great, she was friendly and attentive and def made the experience even better! I got the smoked dry rub wings and they were really good! It's so great to have another place that you know will play for favorite sports team and they also played the audio of the main game which was the timberwolves

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile and was in the area with friends so we walked a few blocks over to see what the hype was about. It was basically an extreme sports bar/wanna club? When we walked through the door it was loud but when actually got seated, omgoodness... it was painfully loud (or maybe I'm just old). Like the music was to the max and it was packed so everyone was yelling to communicate. Also when you walked in there's a sign "wait to be seated" the host sat us right by the entrance and there was a large group of people hanging around the table she was seating us at, she did nothing to let them know they needed to move. With the loud music it did feel like it could have been dance vibes but it also looked like they had an area for that (not 100% sure though). They also had bingo going on & the twins game had just let out, very busy time. We sat for while looking over the menu. It was a while before we got waited on and a waitress came over and basically threw her coworker under the bus, she told us he was too busy to help us & at one point we looked over and he was partying with another table, I thought he was apart of the group vs a staff. Waayyy later, I mean drinks were on our table, menus were gone because we put our order in, he came over and attempted to wait on us but kind of put the pieces together that someone else served us. If we would have had to wait the amount of time it took him to come over, we for sure would have left. They did offer HH deals which is nice especially for weekends & during the day!! We had been bar hopping so we ordered drinks and an app. I got canned drink & truffle fries. The fries were super greasy and served warm. Would have been a bit better if they were hot. One of my friends got the Red Bull trash can drink she was kind of expecting them to served it with the Redbull can tipped in the drink or the rest of the can served on the side (some places do that) but she overall said the drink was good & she would get it again. I'm overall not moved by the experience enough to want to go back. I can see the college kids loving this place!

Yelp
My friend and I stopped at Rabbit Hole in North Loop on a Friday night. We got there on the early side (around 9pm) parking was a bit tough but we found a spot about 1 block away and walked. Since we were there before the crowd really developed there was basically no line to get in. The lady at the check in desk did let us know that we needed to make a reservation in order to have a table. We were bummed but it was okay because we found a seat at the bar. Let me tell you something about Rabbit Hole, it is jumping! This place is SO much fun. You can vibe out with your friends, chat with people, dance, get drinks, food, bop around. We had a time. Dress up, dress down, be comfortable. The music is very loud, but it's not a club or a lounge. More like something in the middle. But I'd definitely recommend this place. The age ranges are between 23-45+ I'd guess. The waffle fries were hot, and came in a big portion. Nothing to write home about but they do the trick. Very salty so make sure you order water too. At 10pm they pull the chairs away so be prepared to dance and stand. The bartenders and servers were so kind! I'll be coming back to Rabbit Hole on my next night out!

Yelp
My friends were out celebrating their birthday in downtown and someone suggested The Rabbit Hole. It's a basement night club and restaurant during the evening. Right off Washington Ave, so many people were in line to get in. Once inside, there's people dancing, DJ playing music, and more people waiting for their drinks at the bar. Quite spacious place. Coed bathrooms and lines were long, but there were cleaners that came often. More sitting area towards the opposite side of the dance floors, I assumed it was VIP area, but no indication. We didn't order any food, kitchen was already closed. Only drinks were available. If you're looking for a place to dance, this one is in Minneapolis.

Yelp
We were excited to try out this new popular bar in north loop, and had a blast! We ran into a ton of people we knew and had great service. It was a ton of fun for st. Patrick's day with themed specials and a packed bar. We were even able to secure a table for 12+ of us in the side room. Excited to come back here soon!

Yelp
We tried this place out on St. Patricks day and boy was it busy! But that was to be expected. We had a group of 13 so we put our name down for a table and then waited by the bar until it was ready. There was place to stand and dance while you waited for a table. We were probably there for a little over an hour until we got a table which is what we expected. They put us in a side room and we had a table and couches which was a great space. Our server was fantastic and attentive which was awesome since it was so busy! We ordered a few different things to share including fries, chicken tenders, and guac. The food was pretty good and I would like to return to try those mozzarella sticks and the pretzel as those were looking really good!

Yelp
Good music, the staff were great, not a long wait time on drinks. I haven't had the food yet I will have to stop by for lunch sometime.

Yelp
The Rabbit Hole in the North Loop of Minneapolis is a great place! It has a really fun atmosphere, serves great food & drinks and the staff is very friendly & efficient. The bartenders really do an excellent job engaging with all their customers. Kattie, Aria, McKenna, Jaclyn and Taylor are the best bartenders you will find in Minneapolis.

Yelp
The food is largely garbage. And they are terrible neighbors. They have created a traffic nightmare for the condos across the street who struggle to use their driveway and run an over bright flashing sign that also negatively impacts residents at night.

Yelp
What a great place! Fantastic service, great atmosphere, and delicious food! You have to try the Big Stick! So so good! We will be back!

Yelp
The live music is a major vibe killer. The dj is always amazing. After a certain time, such as 10pm, move to a dj instead of live music!
