I want to start off with what was good about this place. I really enjoyed the venue itself. The outdoor patio had ample seating and was nicely decorated. I had no issues with how the place looked at all. This is the only reason the place gets 2 stars.
The drinks were expensive. Around $12 for a shot of well vodka is overpriced in my book. But hey, not really my place to complain.
The main issue I have with this place is the staff. We went for an event, paid for presale tickets days in advance, and were excited to go. After getting our IDs checked by the bouncer (who also looked at our tickets but never actually scanned them), we were greeted by two ladies who said there was a $10 cover. No biggie, we could still pay it. When they turned the IPad around to pay, it said the cover was $11, then all the taxes/fees were listed in the line below it. After the guy I was with pointed it out, one of the ladies claimed "that's for the taxes and fees"....even though there was already a separate line for it? It's not an issue for us, we really just wanted to clarify for her so she'd either
1) charge us the correct price of $10 for the cover
OR
2) tell people the correct price of $11 instead
obviously we were slightly annoyed because it just wasn't the correct price for the cover. as we went to tap our card to pay, she said "you guys don't need to pay if you don't want to", insinuating that we could just leave instead. however, she was saying that as the card was already being tapped. "well we just paid so," was our response. after that, she said she could refund it, making us feel as though we weren't welcome anymore. But hey, we paid for the tickets, we paid the cover +$1, we're gonna stay for a bit. We tried to just shrug it off, but what really stuck with us the rest of the night was that we both heard her call the guy I was with a douche to the lady she was working with, multiple times. We weren't rude during the entire interaction, and yet she felt it was necessary to insult him as we walked in. Disgusting behavior from somebody who is supposed to be greeting people for the event.
That entire interaction stuck with us the whole night and completely ruined our vibe.
Like I said, it wasn't that we didn't want to pay, it was just that we wanted to be told the correct price of the cover. If the cover is $11, say that! Don't say it is $10 then attempt to lie about it when we ask about it! Simple!
