This place is very cool. Retro look and great ambiance. The absolute best part of the whole experience is the food! They have THE BEST food that you will ever get at a bar. I had the Lamb burger, and my wife had the trout. I loved my burger, but when I tried her trout, that meal could have been at a fine dining establishment! Check out the pics...

It's an experience so be patient! 😜 Food and drinks fantastic 🤩! Must stop by this not-so+secret... secret. Definitely try ALL the seasonal cocktails and grab a relish plate to begin. You will not be disappointed. If you haven't had collard green kimchi you are not living.

We were traveling through and decided we wanted to stop for Happy Hour. This place had a Speak Easy vibe and we loved it. Mitch took great care of us and recommended the Home made Bacon with truffle honey and bleu cheese and it was AMAZING. If we lived here, we would be regulars. Met some great people and had an amazing Old fashion. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Google
Top of line place! Such a vibe. Drinks are great, and the food is AMAZING. Plenty of seating for everyone, outside more than inside. Staff is kind and attentive. Can’t believe it’s taken me years to finally come. Now I can’t stop! All of the food we got was incredible. Very flavorful, great portions, and solid prices! Parking can be a pain but it’s worth it.

Google
We enjoyed the atmosphere - small, dark, kind of a vintage feel. It was a little loud/chaotic. The crab toast was delicious, but for the price, we wished it would have been served on better bread. That might have something to do with the 50s inspired theme, though. The bread pudding was great.

Google
Can’t comment on the food as my fiancée popped in after dinner for a nightcap. Loved the bar vibe here. Dark with the old school barstools, I felt like I was transported to the heart of the Midwest. Happy hour offerings. Can’t wait to return.

Google
This is my favorite bar in OKC, hands down. Never too loud, not overcrowded or overwhelming. Just a really vibey place to hang out and talk with your friends. Food is surprisingly great, drinks are good AND affordable. My singular complaint is that the patio could use some work. During the spring, summer, fall, I really enjoy an open-air patio vibe. I know they enclosed it to make more usable space during the winter, but I desperately wish the enclosure was seasonal. Maybe just covered during the rest of the year, but the full enclosure kinda makes it feel stuffy and louder than necessary. But besides that, best bar in the city.

R&J’s Lounge and Supper Club has been one of my go-to spots in midtown for a while now. The second you walk in, the warm lighting, retro décor, and classic lounge music make you feel like you stepped into another era. It’s cozy without feeling cramped, with a mix of bar seating, intimate tables, and a patio that’s perfect when the weather’s nice. The crowd is always a comfortable blend of regulars and newcomers, and the staff makes you feel like they have known you for years. I almost always start with the Eastside Chicken, but I like to get the Tabasco honey glaze on the side so I can dip. It’s perfect on its own, but the glaze takes it to another level. The truffle fries are another favorite, perfectly seasoned and rich without being too heavy. And when I’m in the mood for comfort food, the spaghetti is my go-to. It’s hearty, flavorful, and always served just right. Whenever friends come to town, we have to hit this spot. I have crossed paths with a few well-known faces here, which is always interesting, but what I like most is that everyone just enjoys the space without any fuss. They also have an amazing guy at the door with a great smile. Very inviting and welcoming. They call him Chris Mitch. Friendliest guy in the world, but make no mistake… if you can’t act right, he will put you in check. Great food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. That’s why I keep coming back.

Yelp
The best old fashioned in okc! By far the best chicken fried steak in okc. Coolest atmosphere of any bar I've ever been to. Amazing French fries.

Yelp
Early dinner at RJ's after visiting the nearby pop-ups. RJ's is a fun little venue. It's cozy and dimly lit. The bar seats about eight and is just inside the door. There aren't many tables, but they have a large outside dining area that is winterized. We started with an appetizer of fried shrimp and hush puppies. It was very good. Jan ordered beef stroganoff. It had been years since either of us had beef stroganoff. That's not a dish you find on many menus. It was different from what my mom used to make. My mom used thinly sliced beef, and this was made with ground beef. It was hearty and tasty. I had the east side smoked fried chicken sandwich sandwich. It was excellent. The service was good, the noise low and the prices moderate.

Yelp
Moody, fun, can have a date cocktail or girls night. Cocktails are great, lighting is dark, staff is amazing.

Yelp
We popped in here on a snowy evening looking for some good food and cocktails and man did this place deliver! We found a cozy little table at the rear and really enjoyed the atmosphere and style of the restaurant. We ordered old fashioneds and they were on point! The menu is great, to the point it's difficult to choose, which is always a good problem to have. We aren't big eaters but we did our best to try several things, starting with the cheesy crab bread. It was larger than anticipated and delicious. I thought I'd be able to eat a slice or two but wound up eating three. My wife and I split the steak frites and Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and it was a large portion, enough to bring back to the room for a late night or next day snack. Dessert was the crème brule and it was equally good as the rest of the dishes we had. Service was great, very quick but not rushed and exactly the pace we wanted. We were only in town for a short while otherwise I would have come back the following night to try some of the other dishes we were tempted with.
google avatar

Laurel G.

Yelp
A favorite place for cocktails. Dark and moody interior makes you feel like you're in an old movie theater. My friend asked for a creation similar to a mezcal special from a few months back and the bartender whipped up something phenomenal.
google avatar

Debra K.

Yelp
Super cool, retro place. When was the last time you saw a legitimate old-school ashtray on the table...while you were rubbing your toes on AstroTurf...and sitting on vintage white metal outdoor furniture? R&J embraces all that nostalgic vibe. The food encompasses all those "supper club" dishes like spaghetti and meatballs but plays on the 60s and 70s theme with a rotating TV dinner special. We started with the relish tray and I would certainly do that again. The kimchi was fantastic as was the hummus. It's a large app that was enough for six of us. I tried the TV dinner of the day which was chicken parm with a side of pasta, small (very) salad and a sesame cookie. The coating on the chicken was a bit salty but good and the chicken was a bit overcooked. But the pasta sauce was very good. A little pedestrian overall. I would probably order something different next time. Maybe just apps. I tried one cocktail: "Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica" (Gin, Beet/Apple Juice, Basil Honey Syrup). Can I say I LOVE the cocktail names. I would also try a different cocktail. This was a bit too sweet with a LOT of gin. So you might ask why the four stars? Totally the atmosphere. And I will be back!

Yelp
R&J Lounge offers a memorable experience- it was just not for me though. The throwback atmosphere is fun, and the happy hour specials were good. All apps were half off, so we ordered several of them to share. The hush puppies were by far the best, and it was honestly kind of downhill from there. We also tried the relish tray, crab toast, chicken, and bacon. The food just did not hit right for me. Our server was kind and took care of us, so all was good there.
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Their happy hour specials are not the greatest, cocktails-wise. But their drinks are already reasonably priced. Great list of classic cocktails. We usually sit inside their patio area. But I sat inside today-such a cozy and tavern-like atmosphere. I also love that you can have a conversation in the comfort of your own space. Despite us getting their old-fashioned during happy hour, it is still solid. The same goes for their crafted cocktails. Our server was attentive and friendly. Overall a great place to get a drink after a long day of work.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
This dinner spot was fun! It's a unique throwback kind of vibe. It's very dark inside, so we sat on the patio in the warm weather. It's old school smoker friendly, so if you don't enjoy smoke, definitely eat inside and not in the patio area. It's open air though, so it was fine! The specialty cocktails are good. I enjoyed the appetizers best! Our server was good too. It was a nice experience. It's in a great location in the auto alley kinda midtown area. It's worth trying at least once!
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
The ambiance was great and a little hipster which is totally our vibe. We got into town and wanted something open later on a Sunday evening. We each got the TV Dinner which was two chicken legs fried (super juicy and a lovely breading), corn on the cob that was a big portion, some weirdly delicious green beans (who says delicious green beans) and homemade mashed potatoes that were very well seasoned! My partner also got an old fashioned that was well balanced. There were a couple of loud folks at the bar but nothing crazy. We both left well satisfied and agreed that this is absolutely a great place. 10/10
google avatar

Jade H.

Yelp
Great place to grab drinks and apps with friends! Small more intimate setting inside but they do have a filler covered patio. Great place for whatever vibe you are wanting. Service is always great too!
google avatar

Olivia D.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great. Food. Ambience. Drinks. Servers. We even brought our 10 month old in at 5P and were able to have a nice dinner without feeling like, why the f is a baby in here. I've there many times and have never left unhappy.

Eva D.

Yelp
The place is unique. We enjoyed apps and reasonably priced drinks during happy hour in the enclosed patio. The staff are friendly.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
The Cocktails and Steak Frites were really good--and the service was great. Really liked the interior.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
A true lounge with an expansive side patio. Service and cocktails were top notch. Not my first time there nor my last.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Very reasonably priced and tasty classic cocktails and food is always great. Usually get bees knees cocktail, crab toast for an app and the lamb burger for dinner! Cool chill vibes .
google avatar

G S.

Yelp
This is a gem! First time to OKC and was recommended to come here. The ambiance is so relaxing and has elements of a diner mixed with the chill of a speakea. The variety of dinner options is amazing along with the variety of sides available. Our service was FANTASTIC. We ordered drinks right away (specialize in Old Fashions) and our food came out a few minutes after (Sunday night). We had the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans as well as the Beef Stroganoff. #chefkiss to both!! Don't miss this spot when you're in OKC!!
google avatar

Maggie V.

Yelp
Some local friends recommended this place. When you walk in has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was no room for our big group indoors, however, they have a large patio area which is even heated for the colder weather. Our server was not only welcoming but he was also funny. He made sure to explain every item that we had a question on and even made some great recommendations. Everyone in our party ordered something different and we each tried each others. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. We had the beef stroganoff, the shrimp and grits, the Umami burger and the spaghetti and meatballs. I couldn't tell you, which one was the best because they were all amazing. The chef even came out briefly to talk to us, and we had the opportunity to complement his culinary masterpieces. We will definitely come back next time We are in the area.
google avatar

Pam L.

Yelp
I was visiting OKC to visit my daughter and her family and wanted to eat a good chicken fried steak so my daughter took me to RJ's. What a fun choice. It has a very retro feel and the mixed drinks were expertly made and delicious. The chicken fried steak was everything I expected and more. My daughter and I ate at the bar as all the indoor seats were taken, but we didn't mind that. The place has very limited indoor seating, but there is an outside seating section that is enclosed and has heaters to help warm the area. I would definitely recommend RJ's!
google avatar

Andrew V.

Yelp
Such a cool place! The food and drinks are inexpensive and portions are generous. Friendly staff. But the best part is the ambiance and decor. It's like going back in time to the late 60s/early 70s. I would live here if I could.
google avatar

Ray H.

Yelp
Don't plan on coming here for ambiance or quick service. Interesting place. We'll see how the food turns out.
google avatar

Peggy U.

Yelp
Fantastic cocktail bar!! The bar and booth area gives a speakeasy vibe but they have a covered out door area as well. My go to place for good drinks under $10!
google avatar

Sheridan B.

Yelp
R&Js is the spot. They have great, affordable cocktails that are clearly made with skill. They always have rotational seasonal cocktails, but there is truly a drink for everyone when you look through their extensive menu. Don't know what you want or looking to try something new? I recommend sitting at the bar top (it's small!) and chatting with one of their bartenders who can point you in the right direction. This is a great pre- or post-dinner spot to enjoy a drink, though I hear their food is delicious too.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
A restaurant from the '70s era!' The restaurant is hidden away, off the street. Really neat! Very small and not very many tables. They do have an outside seating area. The hamburgers are huge and everything was delicious!
google avatar

Nequel B.

Yelp
Came here with my friends. The inside looked small, however they had a section outside what was covered. Patio furniture and some ceiling fans to help keep the area somewhat cool. Not what we were originally expecting however the drinks were delicious and the food was good. My friend had an issue with her chicken and they were quick to replace it. My shrimp & grits was quite delicious and not too spicy.
google avatar

Lezlie K.

Yelp
R&J is always a great place to get drinks at a great price and the food is alway delicious and hits the spot
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Bacon was disappointing. The bacon, to truffle and blue cheese ratio was off. Too much bacon (oddly). Also the blue cheese was off to the side. It should have been on top. Slab bacon with side a blue cheese really. Tacky. Service was great until close to closing. When the kick you out. Employee, "if they are still inside they are sleeping someone."
google avatar

Lane M.

Yelp
Don't be confused by the name; this is a bar that serves some food. We sat on the patio because no space was available inside. Smoking is allowed on the patio, and apparently most everyone else was smoking. The tables were dirty and sticky (we were a group of 6 that used two tables). The service was slow and the waiter made excuses for the dirty table. We had to ask him to clean it off. They don't offer iced tea and a Diet Coke comes in its can. The chicken fried steak was dry and over cooked and the mashed potatoes were cold and gummy, clearly not recently made. The green beans were the best thing on the plate. I was looking forward to experiencing an old craft cocktail, like the website advertises. This was a huge fail. I suppose it might be a place to meet friends and drink beer. For my group of friends this place is not a fit.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Difficult parking Nice enclosed patio area I loved my lamb dish (rich, filling, not too "muttony" in flavor, and just fatty enough to pass muster without being greasy) and had a grin about the deliberately kitschy decor. Excellent waiter we had. Short wait did we have. Still not fond am I of how we had to park. (Why am I talking like Yoda?)

Jill R.

Yelp
This place is great for the right person. Our food was good, as was our service. The interior is VERY dark & VERY VERY loud. The table we first sat at had a speaker right over it & the music was so loud our server couldn't hear us. We chose to move to patio. Much quieter but music was still too loud for my liking, when you are wanting to have convos with friends. I immediately noticed the ash trays on tables but no one out there was smoking so we decided to take a chance. We got in a good couple of hours before the 3 seated next to us decided to all light up. At that point, we had to leave. I'm all for nostalgia but I'm not cigarette nostalgic.
google avatar

Alejandro R.

Yelp
Hands down the best bar in oklahoma. Simple, with the feel of an old school bar, with the option of an enclosed patio if the weather is nice outside. Surprisingly, they have a very good trout. I would have never thought about trying trout here but the server co Vince's my and he was right! Happy hour is great. They make my favorite sazerac in town.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Very busy bar area but the staff was very attentive! Their food and cocktails are out of this world!

Greg B.

Yelp
Great dive bar with old school supper club vibe. Don't do the outside patio...insist on being at one of the indoor booths (not many of them, but worth the wait). You'll feel like you're back in the 1960s. We ordered off the happy hour menu; the old fashioneds were stiff and the food was awesome. We went with the relish tray and the bacon & blue. Great combo for only $20. A little hard to find, but an unsung gem in OKC.
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
Well...currently someone is holding a kitten in the bar. I'm sure this is not a normal thing. BUT the drinks were great!
google avatar

Cam S.

Yelp
This place is dope. Hidden gem. Just like everyone else says, awesome cheap cocktails. Great food that is a little pricer. Super cool vibe and atmosphere. Decent service. Definitely worth trying. I recommend the RJ sour, whiskey sour, side car and the grasshopper The cheesy crab toast is awesome The Cobb salad is awesome The lamb burger is great
google avatar

Mary Margaret M.

Yelp
Aww, man, I am so bummed! Went into R & J Lounge late one evening hoping to get some tasty late nite bites. We had such high hopes! Some of our friends love this place. Moral of the story, experiences here can be hit or miss. On this occasion, ours was a giant miss. To make a long story short, there were many misses: waiting an hour on food, then not getting the food we ordered, not being able to eat a dish due to such incredibly saltiness it would make ya pucker, & less than their best service. #dinnerwasonthestrugglebus Celebratory note: their fries were fantastic. We were pleased that the team recognized our experience there was just plain bad. They didn't charge us for our meal, just the drinks, which was fine by us. Hopefully lessons were learned and those same mistakes can be avoided in the future. I'd like to return to try their brunch. I adore their decor. It's like stepping into a bar from an episode of Mad Men (inside is smoke free and outside smoking is allowed). Inside is intimate booths and retro pleather chairs and really orange lighting. It's a fantastic place to hangout. My experience here was certainly below average this time around, though I'm holding on hope for better meals here. I think the best is yet to come.
google avatar

Anna J.

Yelp
Great place to stop for a drink and catch up with friends. They have seating indoors and out, and everyone is friendly and helpful when me or someone in my party has questions about what's available. Haven't tried their food menu yet but excited to get the chance. Overall have continuously had a good experience here and R&J is usually at the top of the list of places to stop on nights out!
google avatar

Colby B.

Yelp
This throwback to the Supper Clubs is really quite a lot of fun. From the $5 Old Fashions to the, we got, what we got current beer selection, you'll have a good time. This place could easily have been a prohibition hangout & the building might be that old too ;-) Food was good, Don't overthink it & just have a good time while hanging out relatively close to downtown OKC.
google avatar

Genevieve F.

Yelp
Honestly, it's a nice bar. They call it a support club but their choices, especially for a vegan, are pretty limited. So we just had a drink. They have a nice assortment of drinks at decent prices. I was pleased. I ordered a "Dark and Stormy" and it was spot on. It was even mixed spot on. They also have a nice outside area. So if you want to get your drink on, this is the place.
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Their happy hour has great prices. The best Old Fashioned drink I've ever had and for a great price. This alone has me coming back time and again. I also ordered the East Sider Chicken Sandwich(smoked chicken then fried). One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The ambiance of the place is awesome, love the small intimate feel. Wish I could keep this spot all to myself.
google avatar

Trent L.

Yelp
Still like the place. Just won't be back. I had some friends in from out of town a little while back and wanted to take them to my favorite haunts. We walked in about 1630 or so and they have a service animal. A very well behaved and very well trained small Aussie. We were told that because we had an animal with us we were required to sit on the patio instead of the inside, even though she wasn't a pet. I was embarrassed and my friend decided to leave instead of staying where they were going to be an imposition. For the owner, and by proxy the staff, a little education might be in order. I really enjoyed this place, but it won't be one I bring people to any longer. Not if my friends with disabilities can't sit at the bar and enjoy a cocktail on a hot day in a nearly empty bar.
google avatar

Landis T.

Yelp
I love R&J. Great food, amazing drink menu, good service. Love that they're open late and have dreams about the crab toast.
google avatar

Shane B.

Yelp
I wanted to enjoy it. The service was less than stellar and that's being generous. The food was ok. There are many places better in close proximity. The drinks were ok nothing special. Do yourself a favor and go to Ludvine next door. You will thank me.

Chloë G.

Yelp
Brought my friends here because the Chicken Fried Steak came highly recommended and they were visiting OKC for the first time. Huge disappointment the CFS lacked seasoning and the crab cake special we ordered came to us over cooked. The "crab cake" was made with imitation crab and cost $24?! not too mention server didn't explain that it was made with imitation and one of us is severely allergic to fish not shellfish. Overall all the food lacked flavor and quality was subpar. The green beans were the only thing done right but not worth the trip when The Collective is right next door.
google avatar

Crystal N.

Yelp
R&J is the place to go for great drinks at an affordable price. They've got a huge menu that brings you back in time to the earlier days of America. Their drinks range from about 4-10 dollars each. I've heard they have great food, so looking forward to coming back to try out dinner next time I'm there for a drink!

Sofia L.

Yelp
I love this place. The ambiance is great, the food is great.... The service is a bit slow but I don't mind because it's the type of place you want to spend time in for a while. The menu is rotating and never fails to be delicious.

Paul R.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with the girlfriend this past Saturday and it was a good experience overall. The place looks like a early 60s-70s dive bar which was awesome. Their food was great! The service got better once the server mellowed out. A acknowledgement of a table was reserved for a bigger party caused him to become stand-offish, to the point at times he squared up to you with his hands balled up when asking how you were doing. I'll come back again, probably stay at the bar tho.

Brock A.

Yelp
This place was a great change of pace from your normal restaurant experience. Great food and serv8ce

Yelp
Love this place for all the great reasons. Wonderful in the winter and amazing in the summer. Old fashions are the best!!
