The Rebello (Vila Nova de Gaia, Norte) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Housed in a collection of industrial buildings that sit just by the Douro River, The Rebello Hotel lived many lives before becoming one of Porto’s boldest design hotels, including stints as a cookware factory and a wine warehouse. The 19th-century facades and stone structures have been retained to pay homage to the hotel’s rich history, while the newly created suites, studios and rooms feature contemporary interiors take their design cues from the key elements that surround the hotel – water, wine, wood and industry. The subterranean spa has been inspired by Roman baths, and the stylish pool sits surrounded by curved archways and a tranquil lounge area. There’s also a gym and a treatment menu of massages and facials. Drinking and dining options include Pot&Pan restaurant for a mix of Portuguese and international dishes and pizzeria M’arrecreo, although arguably the highlight might be Bello Rooftop, which has a stunning view across the Douro River." - Tablet Hotels

The Rebello Hotel & Spa, Porto, Portugal - Explore & Book

"Porto's the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard – and doesn’t have to. It has a raw, authentic feel that makes everyone fall in love. Clinging to the riverbanks, a colourful hodgepodge of faded mansions, rugged granite buildings, and burnt-orange terracotta rooftops, this romantic port city is full of depth and drama. It’s famous for port wine but the views are pretty intoxicating – and The Rebello Hotel & Spa may have the best of them. From the Bello rooftop bar, you can enjoy a rare, panoramic view of both sides of the city – Porto and Gaia including the iconic Dom Luís Bridge – with cocktails and petiscos (small plates) by a Michelin-trained Chef. Downstairs in the signature Pot&Pan restaurant, diners overlook the Douro River, although the interior design puts up a good fight for your attention. Every inch of this beautifully restored former 19th-century factory is creative but not showy, historic without being frozen in time, and refreshingly unpretentious – a lot like Porto itself. The hotel offers 103 suites, three restaurants, and a Roman-inspired spa. It's luxury with soul. Easy and relaxing, with late breakfasts, early checkouts, unstuffy customer service, and homemade pastel de natas hand-delivered to your door. (Yes, please.) Highs That view: The Rebello directly faces Dom Luís Bridge, with Porto and Gaia on either side, and 360º panoramas from the rooftop bar The design: housed in an old factory, the interiors mix industrial edge with contemporary comfort and original art. We loved it. The top-notch food in both Pot&Pan and Bello The fully equipped, apartment-style suites are ideal for longer stays Set in a peaceful and less touristy location on the Gaia side of the river, just a stroll (or scenic bridge walk) from the historic centre Lows An upmarket hotel like this commands high prices: we thought it worth it considering the interiors, restaurants and spa facilities No outdoor pool, which might disappoint sunseekers during hotter months Some suites face the street or courtyard, so if you want uninterrupted river views, it’s worth upgrading The spa includes a small indoor pool that’s perfectly sized (and heated) for a relaxing dip, but it's not big enough to swim laps" - Leona Ford

This place is just fun and the view is amazing! This is the side of Porto you want to stay on. We stayed at eleven different hotels over a month long visit to Spain and Portugal and this was a favorite. Our room was a spacious one bedroom suite. The bed was super comfortable and the bedding was quality. The pillows/towels/robes were perfection. The furnishings in the whole hotel are comfortable and inviting with many cozy nooks to sit in. Of the eleven hotels, this is only one of two that had an ironing board so that was a win. But it is their spin on the mini bar that is truly genius! They give you the first round of select drinks from the minibar for free and a full on bottle of wine for free. In addition to this they have many tasty snacks in the room that were reasonably priced. No worries about partaking outrageously over-priced food here. When we couldn’t make the breakfast buffet due to an early flight they packed us a breakfast to go. Lastly, it is always the people that make or break a place and the staff here are the best. Every person we encountered was helpful and welcoming and we can’t wait to go back!

Travelled as two adults and 17 year old. Chose hotel due to location and the 2 bedroomed suites to give us all space. Hotel did not disappoint. Easy walkable distance from Gaia’s restaurants and Port lodges. A really nice 30 mins walk to Porto over the bridge. Breakfast was great if not a little chaotic at times but the food was lovely. Staff overall were kind and helpful. Rooftop bar was very nice and peaceful. Only negative was very cold swimming pool in indoor spa meaning the relaxing spa experience wasn’t as enjoyable as it should have been.

What a treat this hotel was! We spent two nights across the river in Porto and two nights on the other side in Gaia. The Rebello exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. They upgraded us to a room that was the size of a large apartment with huge window views of Porto and the river. The beds were super comfy, great snacks, wine, and drinks offered in the room and the first round was free! Beautiful pool and sauna for use. Excellent breakfast included with everything you could want. Our only regret was not staying longer. Worth every penny!

I stayed at The Rebello for one night and didn't want to leave! The hotel is stylish (without being pretentious), full of personality, comfortable, and overall a very welcoming place to enjoy Porto. The viewpoint from the hotel rooftop is incredible, with direct view onto Porto's main bridge, which is even more stunning at night. Each room is individually curated with its own character and with fun little details, like notes or a vintage telephone to ring reception. I treated myself to a massage at the spa and honestly, it was one of the best I've ever had (and I've had quite a few over the years!). Breakfast was another highlight, the buffet had plenty of options without overdoing it. I highly recommend The Rebello for your stay in Porto!

What a gem. The Rebello is a stylish new hotel that feels luxurious and inviting without being flashy like many modern openings. We stayed in a beautiful two-bedroom suite with en suite bathrooms, a powder room, full kitchen, and living area, which was perfect for our family with two young boys. The views of Porto and the Douro River from our room were absolutely breathtaking, and the rooftop bar at night had the best view of the bridge and the city. The location couldn’t be better, close enough to walk everywhere yet peaceful and quiet. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or a family trip, this place truly delivers. Easily one of our favorite stays in Portugal.

A fantastic stay at The Rebello! We loved our stay at The Rebello — a beautifully designed, stylish hotel with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Guests from all over the world come together here, creating a truly international vibe. Pan & Pot is a real highlight, offering creative, modern Portuguese cuisine. Breakfast is fresh and varied, with many made-to-order options at no extra cost. The service is outstanding, and the staff are genuinely kind and attentive. The rooftop bar serves great snacks and offers stunning views over the Douro. It’s definitely worth paying a bit more for a room with a view of the river and the Ponte Luís I! Excellent wine selection at fair prices and a minibar with some complimentary items. Only minor downside: e-bikes are available for a fee. Overall, an exceptional hotel that blends design, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended!

The Rebello is by far one of the best hotels I've been too in the last couple of years. The place looks fresh, clean, calm. Breakfast is great, the rooftop restaurant has a wonderful view and a good menu, the sauna and pool are well designed. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Staying in touch through mail, whatsapp and handwritten notes. As an example, I struggled to reach the car rental company so they reached out on my behalve and kept me in the loop. The hotel shuttle service back to the airport, in our case complimentary, was super comfortable and punctual. I do recommend the room we had, 222, with a balcony overseeing the river, Porto and a beautiful bridge. To me that was a great plus.

What a gorgeous hotel! It was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed. I loved our suite — a two bedroom with en-suite bathrooms, plus a powder room off the living room and kitchen — and the view of Porto and the river was incredible. The front desk staff was beyond accommodating after a small mix-up with the room booking, and they made us feel right at home. They offered great suggestions for things to do and places to eat and checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was meeting our needs. Breakfast was set up in a beautiful space off the side of the lobby, and the options were plentiful. They had pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc., plus more you could order off the menu, like scrambled eggs. The rooftop bar was also awesome and had the best views of the river. We enjoyed the cozy spaces for grabbing a quick lunch one day and a port and dessert to end the night. Highly recommend booking this hotel, and I hope to come back sometime soon.
