The Rebello, an SLH Hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Rebello in September and loved it. The hotel is in Gaia, the smaller, quieter city across the river from Porto. We had a River Studio with a balcony and a fantastic view looking straight up the river. The room itself was fine and overall the hotel has a pleasant boutique feel. Quite a good breakfast buffet in a nicely decorated room. The staff were quite helpful and friendly. ||We loved the location. When we stayed there in  mid-September, Porto and the part of Gaia just across the river were still quite crowded with tourists. The Rebello is about a five minute walk past where that hustle and bustle of tourists ends in Gaia, so it's quiet but conveniently located. Plus Gaia itself is attractive and has attractions such as a number of Port tasting facilities, a fine modern museum complex, nice restaurants (including at that complex) and an aerial tramway that takes you up to a beautiful sunset viewing spot and the hiller part of town. ||We like to walk, so the roughly 25-30 minute mostly flat walk mainly along the water and then across the bridge to Porto was fine for us. Heading in the other direction from that bridge, there's also a pretty pleasant though largely unspectacular hour-long walk along the river to a beach area, where the river meets the sea.||If we ever get back to the Porto area, we'd definitely stay at the Rebello again.

This place blew us away! We were upgraded to an enormous apartment style suite with a separate bedroom and full kitchen. Our balcony had amazing views of the river and city. The service was impeccable. The pool was gorgeous (though would have loved an actual hot jacuzzi). Very large, delicious breakfast buffet. Easy access to the port houses in Gaia and Porto across the river. Loved it!

One of the best hotel views I've been to in a hotel that is considered "affordable luxury." The view from my balcony was absolutely beautiful. I highly advise paying a fee (I paid $40 per night) to secure in advance a balcony river view room as there are only a limited amount of rooms like this. You can use my picture to send to reception to reserve a room with this exact view (That is what I did in my stay in Feb 2024. Sometimes they have sales and I paid around $370 per night for my room.) The room was very spacious and very clean (I have very high standards for cleanliness). The rooftop bar was gorgeous as well and I got food there. Service was nice. They let me store my luggage after checkout so I can still enjoy the city. Its about 10 min Uber to a lot of the main parts of Porto. The view is something I still think about so that's the best part of this hotel. The Spa was okay - the water was just lukewarm. It's more like an indoor pool. The breakfast was pretty good and there were many options. The waiters at breakfast were nice. I rarely write hotel reviews but just thought the view here was too good to not share.

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Rebello in Porto. The location is perfect, offering a beautiful view of Vila Nova de Gaia across the river. It's close enough to the main attractions but still peaceful enough to enjoy some quiet time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They really go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, always with a smile. It’s clear they care about providing a personal touch and creating a comfortable environment for guests.Our room was clean, cozy, and had all the necessary amenities. We can tell the hotel puts effort into maintaining the space, and it definitely feels like a home away from home and Breakfast was another highlight of our experience. The service was exceptional, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. The staff took great care in serving breakfast, ensuring a pleasant and relaxed start to the day. It truly added to the overall charm and comfort of the hotel.|Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Porto. Whether we are there for a short trip or a longer stay, Hotel Rebello offers an amazing combination of great service, fantastic views, and a cozy, homely vibe. I’d definitely stay here again!

What a treat this hotel was! We spent two nights across the river in Porto and two nights on the other side in Gaia. The Rebello exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. They upgraded us to a room that was the size of a large apartment with huge window views of Porto and the river. The beds were super comfy, great snacks, wine, and drinks offered in the room and the first round was free! Beautiful pool and sauna for use. Excellent breakfast included with everything you could want. Our only regret was not staying longer. Worth every penny!

This hotel was a favourite for us. The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and without pretense. Of note was Ana at check-in who was friendly, efficient, informative and had amazing attention to detail. She made an instant good impression of the establishment. The rooms are modern, fun, comfortable and extremely clean and the welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated. The spa was well used by us as we stayed during days of heavy rain and we were so impressed by the kindness and efficiency that Margarida and Catarina dealt with every guest. They politely accommodated the needs of everyone that entered the spa and pool area. The sauna was a busy spot and the hotel may need to consider adding another to accommodate all the guests. Another thing to note is that we had a small maintenance issue with the heated towel rack in one room. We were pleasantly surprised they had it fixed promptly. Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel and everyone in my party agrees that we would return if in the area again. Thanks for an awesome stay during a terrible weather week!

Went away for 2 nights for my wife’s birthday. We had a lovely time. The hotel was beautiful with a fantastic view from our room looking over the river and the dom Luís bridge. We were looked after very well in the hotel with every member of staff more than happy to help and wanted to recommend things for us to do and try. Breakfast was really tasty and peaceful and the roof top bar had a lovely view and great food / drink. The hotel was located right next to the cable cars which took us to the top of the dom Luís bridge and was also very close to the main port tasting tours. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay! I must say that the nighttime reception staff was extremely helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcome. He showed us to our room upon arrival and explained every detail about how everything worked. When we requested a late checkout, he helped and accommodated us as much as he could. This truly made our stay wonderful—since we had nowhere else to go and our flight was in the late afternoon, it helped us a lot, especially because we were exhausted and had no more places to visit. His exceptional hospitality greatly enhanced our experience, and we would happily return in the future.||||A side note - if you plan to book this hotel, it’s best to do so through their official website. You may get a complimentary room upgrade just like we did! We received a river-view room with a balcony overlooking the iconic Luis Bridge. The view was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended!
