A couple friends and I decided to try this casual bar spot for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. However, the service was lacking. The outdoor seating was nicely sprawled out in a spacious setting. There was no menu given to us because we had to view it online.
I ordered the chicken and mushroom quesadilla, as well as the truffle tater tots {because I love truffle anything!} The quesadilla was filled with melted swiss, cheddar, and pepper jack cheeses, and served with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. The tortilla shells were perfectly lightly crisp and the mixture of cheeses worked really well together. They were melty in your mouth delicious. There were also plenty of pieces of chicken and slices of mushroom. The chicken was slightly crunchy with tasty seasoning, as well as tender and juicy. The mushroom was fresh and cooked well. I loved how much of each ingredient was in the quesadilla, making it very thick and filling.
The truffle tater tots were absolutely delicious! They were served with Parmesan cheese. Wonderfully crisp and strong flavor of truffle oil permeated the tater tots.
I also got to try the fried zucchini, which also had shredded Parmesan cheese on top. These were expertly breaded and boasted a satisfying crunch. There was definitely a lot of flavor packed into this appetizer.
The service was not great, because we had to go to the window for everything: Ordering, asking for water or napkins, and finally, to pay for the meal. My friends and I took turns to do each, so I had to request the check, as well as pay. There were a few folks ahead of me, so I ended up having to wait longer than I wanted. I understand that many of these precautions need to take place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but it seemed we had to take care of everything, so it was basically self-service. In this case, I almost didn't feel like giving a tip. I won't be back anytime soon.
