This is both a motel and a tavern. I would give it 4 stars as a hotel (mostly because they don't provide anything in the way of breakfast) but 5 stars for the tavern. We ate at the tavern 2 nights and the food was excellent both times. The smoked back ribs were amazing. The meat literally fell off the bone. Portions are also huge. They have a good range of drinks (although don't do cocktails) and a couple of firepits to drink them by. I can highly recommend eating here, even if you aren't staying.

Delicious food but awful service. Very unfriendly staff. Do you expect a restaurant to have like $50-100 per person and order your food in the bar then find your sit after? The main course came in before the appetizer. Also a small dog sits and lingers around on the bar's counter top whilst you drink and eat at the bar counter, as well. That's my first and last meal on this restaurant.

A friend and I went to Red Rose with our daughters tonight for dinner. I know the chef Jon and wanted to try to the steak. We shared a strip steak, crab legs, and shrimp scampi. I am beyond enthralled at Jon’s attention to detail when it comes to his food. The steak was so tender; I didn’t need a knife to cut it. It was seasoned to perfection. The fries are perfectly cooked. The crab was delicious. We ended our meal with fresh baked cookies that are beyond all expectations. French chocolate makes them decadent without being overly sweet. The food is top notch and by far the best thing I have eaten in this county and perhaps the last ten years of my life. The bar itself is how I would like my home. I can not imagine a better aesthetic. It’s cozy, charming, Victorian, Americana. It’s perfect. This place is top notch and the owner JP and Jon are a dream team. Garrett the bartender is great company and on top of everything. Alyssa the food runner is funny and upbeat. Everything is this place runs smoothly and creates a relaxing, peaceful, and welcoming environment. I can’t recommend it enough.

We had an amazing experience with the inkeep john, we had broken down with a trailer and he was so kind as to let us keep it there overnight. We were also scared because it was the middle of the night but john reassured us that everything was okay and as POC we were safe there. The next day picking up the trailer he insisted on not having us pay, and was the kindest about the whole situation. I would 100000000% recommend this motel!!

Fantastic little inn with an incredible restaurant. Super cozy, friendly staff, and declious food (the beef tips were unbelievable). Would highly recommend if you're passing thru the area.

Amazing and charming place. We were the only people staying in one of the rooms for the weekend and it was quiet and peaceful. We loved the tavern and the food offered, which saved us from up and leaving the place after the extremely ignorant bartender. Every time I went back for a refill, it was "are you closing out yet?" She never looked you in the eyes when communicating and stayed in full conversation with her friends while taking your order. She'd never stop her conversation to help you, instead would just gesture your direction with the ordering tablet when there was a break — you were to assume that meant she was ready. And anyone who was there as a regular got the exact opposite service, she really just treated anyone she didn't know like dogshit. A person like that probably shouldn't be working with customers at a hotel. For the record, the young girl working the dining room floor was such a sweet person. Maybe she should start taking orders and pouring beers... Stay for the charm and warmth of the hotel, get a 6 pack from Roscoe beer and sit near the fire instead of dealing with the self-centered bartender.

We just stopped into the bar section but it's a beautiful place and I've seen the rooms very nice so if you want to spend a weekend there I would recommend it!

The Red Rose Motel and Tavern is an amazing place with wonderful staff and passionate owners! JP and Kris welcomed us with warm hearts, big smiles and the most attentive service we have ever experienced! The motel and tavern are historic and decorated with local and antique memorabilia. Even the dining room restrooms are a trip back in time with fun decor! The food is top shelf… this is not some quick bar food! The menu is very interesting and comparable to a NYC 5 start restaurant. They offer specials in addition to to standard menu… everything is prepared and served with style. As they say, don’t judge a book by its cover… the place may look unassuming from the outside…. However, you will be very pleasantly surprised once you step in! Stop in; go back in time and enjoy the experience!

Yelp
Love this place! First of all, it's dog friendly inside which is incredible. The interior is rustic and feels like a living room, very comfortable. The bucatini is my favorite (and I don't usually order pasta at a restaurant)! The burger and chicken and dumplings were also delicious. The motel rooms look cute also, although I have not stayed. A great stop in this area!

Yelp
My family and I had dinner at the Tavern last night for the first time. To say we enjoyed it is an understatement. We had appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Each dish was delicious, special, and made with quality ingredients. The servers were friendly and fun to talk with. The decor was stunning. Here's a picture of my root beer float...a work of art. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This review covers the experience of being a hotel guest and a bar patron. First - the owners/proprietors are top notch. A young family renovated this historic building and did an outstanding job with decor and ambiance. The bar is inviting and comfortable: beer, wine and a limited food menu is available. The lounge areas are lovely and the small store holds some great retro merchandise. The rooms are super clean. The air conditioning works. The towels are thick and really, really nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. No TV. I'd absolutely stay here again in the future.

Yelp
My wife and I (nicole) had a couple day stay at the red rose. It's clear Melissa put a ton of love and special touches into this space. It's funky, retro, and feels just like home. You don't see too many places like this left. I absolutely love this place. We will be back!

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay on The Rose Motel! We were on our way to the Finger Lakes for our anniversary and decided to drive up Friday night and stay somewhere half way. Everything about this place is amazing. The room was super cute and unique. Everything was really nice from the bed, sheets, towels, even down to the soap and hand cream in the bathroom. There was a lot of care put into this place and it's super cozy. Also the continental breakfast was so yummy we decided we didn't need to go out for breakfast.

Yelp
The Red Rose is a rustic bar/restaurant/motel with great drinks, food, and service. They have a tavern and a few cozy sitting areas with big comfy couches, a fireplace, blankets, games, and antiques. There's plenty to enjoy here. I would not miss this place if you're in the area!

Yelp
Been fishing the area for 20 years. Was just a matter of time before the area rejuvenated. Stopped in for a Beer. Bartender was great and also sells vintage clothes. Ordered the pretzel for a quick bite before heading back to the river.

Yelp
Red Rose has a great ambiance, very cozy and well curated space. The tavern offers a great selection of beers, ciders, and wines! Pot pies and the burger are delicious. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
This place is awesome. I absolutely love everything about it. The food is incredible, the beer on tap is mouth watering. This place is new and gorgeous for the Catskills . The wine selection is superior. They are open until the last person leaves. Not 10pm.

Yelp
Stopped in on a rainy Saturday when the folks at Prohibition Distillery recommended them. The place is super cute and Denny and Melissa, who run the place are extremely friendly. The warm pretzel and the tomato soup were awesome. The rooms weren't open yet but we'll be back when they are!

Yelp
This place is a really charming spot off the side of the road. Great, cozy place for some brews and conversation and delicious food - we've had the pot pies and had a smash burger on our last visit, yum. Cool, rustic decor - we'll be back!

Yelp
Awesome food, beer and wine selection. Superb and friendly service. Delightfully cozy decor and aesthetic. If you're on route 17 and you need a place to eat or sleep, accept no substitutes! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Yelp
Wandered into the Red Rose Motel on a cold January afternoon, and was delighted to find warm hosts and warm food. Our party of four tried a variety of the menu items. After a difficult contest we decided the Heirloom Potato Chips from Mountain Sweet Berry Farm were the groups favorite menu item; a close second came the perfect winter soup, warm lentil served with farm made butter and a crunchy delicious baguette. The space if filled with light and antiques. A warm fire greets you and a soft sound of old country music plays in the air. The hosts Denny and Melissa were able to find us the perfect hard cider to round out our lunch. Found on old route l7 in Roscoe, across from the Beaverkill it's a nice jump back in time to give you the opportunity to feel restful, and wonder at the simpler times the Rose Motel has seen. There is more to come at the Red Rose so wander over now and see where they are going. The motel is under construction and the menu will be expanding. Can't wait to go back again
