The Best New Restaurant Openings in NYC, August 2023 | Eater NY

"I checked out a new neighborhood wine bar from Ted Arenas and Shaun Dunn that offers a wide-ranging collection of roughly 80 wines and a food program of snacks, flatbreads, charcuterie, and desserts. It's at 401 W. 52nd Street, near 10th Avenue." - Emma Orlow

Love the drink I got, don’t remember the name but you can definitely show the picture I took. Restroom was super clean, bartender was very nice and friendly and I definitely loved the atmosphere. Coming back soon for their M-Sunday happy hour 4-7 pm!

An Oasis in Hell's Kitchen. On my way over to see an off Broadway Play on W 52nd Street, I stumbled upon a tucked away gem called The Red Stache. Beautiful build out with the best frozen drinks and craft cocktails. Shawn (one of the owners) and Luke a great bartender could not have been any nicer. They recommended two signature frozen drinks an Espresso Frozen and the Moscow Mule. Both were outstanding. We had so much fun we returned after the show to finish off the day.. Highly recommended! Great Vibe Great Staff Great People Cool Atmosphere!

Went for happy hour, sat at the bar. Ty was an outstanding bartender, great vibe. Had two for one wine as well as the Fruit Loop cocktail. And the deviled egg croquettes are amazing! We will be back! Looking forward to trying brunch or trivia night as well. Follow up : I went again but they put caviar on top of my deviled eggs this time so I was unable to eat them . Not sure why since it’s not described that way. So be sure and ask for no caviar unless you like it .

Google
y small cozy place with a nice bar seating as well as few tables and standing tables. Went for the Taylor Swift Showgirl album release special when TS songs were being played. Highly recommend the White Lotus cocktail which a nice slight sweet twist on Negroni. Food oh d menu looks interesting too and would give it a try. Verdict: definitely nice solid spot in HK neighborhood.

Google
For my first visit I highly enjoyed it. There was a lively group of people taking up the majority of the space while my friend and I sat at the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine and truffle fries. It was so pleasant. I will definitely go back. Thomas was great!

Google
Honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the city. Our server luke was super attentive without being overbearing, the bartender, made one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had (seriously, ask for him if you go). The vibe was cozy but elevated, food came out hot and fast, and the whole team seemed like they actually enjoyed being there which in Hells Kitchen makes a huge difference. I saw a few weird reviews before coming, but I’m glad I trusted my gut because it was a 10/10 night.

Had my birthday here it was lovely. My friend previously hosted his birthday here and it inspired me. The team worked very well me in order to set me up for success they made great food that was more than enough for my guests. I want to thank The Red Stache team and Shaun especially for.

Google
Long story short, it's my favorite bar in the city. Depending on when you go it can be very lively or quiet and quaint. All the bartenders are lovely, there's lots of programming, and the food is great. It's a smaller barr/kitchen space, so the staff is small and juggles a large amount of people well. I usually end up bringing all of my friends and out of town visitors here.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick happy hour drink- the house white was SO good!! Loved it so much we asked for the name (although we immediately forgot) lolol. But it was super welcoming, the bartenders were so friendly and we loved the space. Great spot :)

Yelp
Lovely little bar - the pretzel bites are so yummy and so are the cocktails. Super charming spot. The bartender was lovely, the atmosphere was chill.

Yelp
My friends and I stumbled upon The Red Stache and it may be our new favorite bar in NYC. We were looking for somewhere with good drinks and good food if we decided, and we got that perfectly. We were there for happy hour and were told that drinks were BOGO on certain items, which was incredible. We got the Froze (and let me tell you, it was both strong and freezing), but it fit the drink bill. We then each got a rail drink, which was part of the deal. We got a few food items: the pretzel bites, mac and cheese, meatballs, and a chicken sandwich. Hands down the pretzel bites honey mustard butter and mac and cheese were the stars. I could eat the honey mustard butter on its own, it was so good and something I had never had before. The mac and cheese was absolutely delicious, it was creamy and decadent with a nice crust on top. The meatballs were fine, we didn't eat the bread that came with it because it was a little bit hard, and the meatballs good but weren't anything to obsess over. My friend enjoyed the chicken sandwich, and the kettle chips that came with it were good. Service was a little bit slow, staff double as servers and bartenders and even though it wasn't late or packed, we had to waive down our server each time we needed something because he was just hanging behind the bar. We will absolutely be back, we love this place!

Yelp
Bartender TY reason to come here alone. Super chill spot in Hell's Kitchen. The Frozen Espresso Martini a legit showstopper. Amazing Happy Hour and Good Vibes all around. Thank you Ty for the Hospitality, can't wait to come back

Great service! Cool atmosphere with some nice 2-for-1 Happy Hour options, including frose and frozen espresso martinis

Yelp
I would say this place is a hidden gem! The decor and ambiance is super cozy. I love all the candles inside. This wine bar would be a great date spot. It's not super big inside - there's a bar with maybe 10 stools. There are some tables inside and outside. There's a single stall bathroom in the back. My friend and I tried: - Bread and butter - the caramelized onion butter is so good! I wish the bread was a little more crispy though (but that's my personal preference) - Pork sandwich - this was the best thing we ate all nightly. The pork belly was cooked right and had a good portion. - Carrot tartare - I liked the pita/flatbread that it came with. The actual tartare was light and didn't taste like much. - Shaved Brussel sprout salad - this was my second favorite dish we ate. I Ioved the green apple and charred scallion. We got something else too but I forgot what it was. I got the rosé spritz cocktail - which is a wine based cocktail! It was very refreshing and easy to drink. I would definitely come back! -

Yelp
I went for the drag brunch. The staff was amazing. I had the breakfast flat bread which had perfectly cooked eggs, but by far my favorite thing was the frozen espresso martini

Yelp
I'm a bit of a star snob so don't get me wrong. Good spot I will go back. Sunday brunch with bottomless drinks for 90 minutes was a good time. Clean, good tunes & good food.

Yelp
Food and cocktails were FANTASTIC - it was fun to sit at the bar and watch them prep. Bar staff was lovely, and it's small enough to feel cosy and intimate. Loved it.

Yelp
Nice place with very good service and ambiance. Overall a cool, small spot. The problem is that no real kitchen exists here, the food appears to be pre-made and heated, unfortunately it also tastes like it. Also, the viewing party here was a complete bust. The screen was un-viewable about 80% of the time. This is an easy fix via the projector settings or a low price current projector purchased in the last 10 years. This was compounded by the fact that the surround sound did not overpower background machine noise. Not sure how they have been able to do this weekly and nobody has complained about not being able to watch as they dine. Between the food quality and inability to see/hear the screen, a night here was pretty much a waste. Sadly, it does not seem as though there is much investment in simple amenities to make this place much better.

Yelp
I love this place. Great drinks, great vibes, great food. Impressive the bartenders do everything. They serve, make great drinks, prepare the food, and curate amazing vibes. I fell in love with my boyfriend over an aperol spritz and a fruity pebbles cosmo in the corner booth after we needed a quiet place to chat after our Woowoo Room escapade. Amazing little place. A hole in the wall worth every penny and every second of navigating Hell's Kitchen to get to.

Yelp
Awesome Gnocchi and BLT w/ avocado. It's unbelievable how such a small space puts out such delicious dishes. And the wine based drinks are to die for. Frozen Rose' wine, yes please... The service was spectacular. By the time I thought I wanted something else, Tim was at our table ready to serve. This is an intimate spot perfect for date night with my favorite girl.

Yelp
Really cute neighborhood wine bar with a great selection and very cozy vibes. Place is really small but has friendly staff and good for casual bites and date night drinks! Highly recommend stopping by if you live in the area.

Yelp
Great new wine spot in the heart of HK. Has a chill warm and friendly vibe. It's lively enough that gives good energy but not too much where you can't have a good conversation with your friends or family. Drinks are good and food is spot on for pre or post dinner drinks, or dinner if you're looking for something light and not too complicated. Service is kind and bartender is knowledgeable on their drinks. We had a pretty large party, but the server was patient with us and never made us feel unwelcome. In summary: fairly priced, good food and drinks, positive service, clean and welcoming place, and good location in HK.

Yelp
Walking into the Red Stache and greeted by the lovely staff during the start of this crisp weather was a delight. The creative take on fall cocktails and deliciously curated bites set the stage for a beautiful evening with beautiful friends.

Yelp
The first show was amazing, thank you Holly Boxbraids for a wonderful first drag show!

Yelp
Stopped in for a glass of wine and a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the wonderfully curated wine list and elevated takes on classic wine bar fare. The "cocktail" menu is a creative list of wine based cocktails that mimic the classics (like a "margarita" with sherry and an "espresso martini" with vermouth). The entire bar was talking about the pretzel bites. Don't miss them! The sandwiches and flatbreads that I saw looked great. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back often!

Yelp
Great space! Great vibes. I highly recommend this place. Great selection of premium wines. The pork sandwich is epically good. The spicy fino marg is a must.

Yelp
I love this place! Such a nice, chill vibe. Came to grab a few drinks and apps before a show. Food was delicious and the bartender was so sweet and amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place has the means to be an absolute gem in HK- the wine list is fantastic, and the cocktails that they make with wine are so unique and special. The Old Fashioned and Margarita were standouts for sure. The food is simple yet delicious! I loved the grilled cheese, so good! Our waiter was kind and very attentive to us and helped us out a lot with the wines we wanted to order after we had tried the cocktails as well My one criticism would be small (even though it is quite big) would be the screens. This place is so quaint, cozy and inviting, but at all hours there are 12 foot long screens playing.....tv. It's not sports or anything like that but just normal reruns of shows like friends. The space isn't very large but it gets swallowed by the screens. I understand having viewing parties for shows on certain nights but when those aren't happening, the space should be able to speak for itself. Other than that the space is truly wonderful

Yelp
Cute spot, great wine selection, rustic chill vibe; came here with a group of friends and we decided it was our weekend meet up spot. Menu is fun, shareable plates, great charcuterie selection, hot babes chillin lol

Ron T.

Yelp
Stopped in after lunch and before a play for a wine. Both were good and they had a drag show bruch going on which was very entertaining and the performer was very engaging with the audience. We didn't eat, but it sure smelled great.

Yelp
Such a great spot to grab a glass (or bottle) of wine with a group of friends. Aside from the extensive wine list, the food menu was also great and the pretzel bites were top tier! Would highly recommend!

Yelp
In the city of New York, it's hard to make an impression, however, The Red Stache did not disappoint! The ambience, the food, and the service was top notch and perfectly curated to feel modern and upscale.

Tommy O.

Yelp
Love the ambience! Great vibes all around, and I can't wait to bring other friends here. LGBTQ+ friendly establishment
