Politicians’ Favourite London Restaurants for General Election 2019 | Eater London

"Jacob Rees Mogg was seen dining here with with Jean-Pierre Jouyet, the French Ambassador. A very ‘man of the people’ vibe. The Somerset MP, it has to be noted, makes his own cider — impressive?? — and likes to drink it...flat — not so impressive. Cheeky pint after, at Wetherspoons perhaps." - Adam Coghlan

We were invited to an event at this beautiful place. Food was nice, the atmosphere and the service. Really enjoyed our time there.

Great political, literature and cinematic history (Jules Verne‘s famous book plays here, some Bond movies were filmed here). Nicely decorated, good food, open also for female members, etc.

Attending a private event at the Reform Club was a truly unforgettable experience. The building itself is breathtaking — a masterpiece of Palladian architecture nestled in the heart of London. From the moment I stepped through the grand entrance and into the marbled halls, I felt immersed in a rich tapestry of history, tradition, and understated elegance. The event was impeccably organized, and the setting could not have been more ideal. The warm lighting, polished wood interiors, and quiet sophistication of each room created an atmosphere that was both intimate and grand. Whether enjoying a conversation over cocktails or admiring the ornate library and sweeping staircase, every moment felt like stepping into another era — refined, serene, and steeped in heritage. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the impeccable service and the sense of privilege that comes with being inside such an exclusive institution. The staff were gracious and discreet, and the ambiance encouraged meaningful interaction. It was a rare and beautiful experience — one that left me deeply impressed and grateful to have been invited. I would return in a heartbeat.

The Reform Club: Where History, Influence, & Three-Piece Suits Define Elite London Stepping into the Reform Club feels like entering a living monument to power—a Palladian masterpiece where Dickens debated and Gladstone dined. The soaring library, grand staircase, and strict three-piece suit dress code (non-negotiable!) enforce an atmosphere of timeless gravitas. Here, conversations between bankers, diplomats and innovators unfold over steak Diane in the dining room or drinks in wood-paneled lounges. Mentally, it’s electrifying: you’re not just networking; you’re walking in the footsteps of giants who shaped empires. For those who aspire to legacy—not just success—this isn’t a club. It’s the inner sanctum.

Lovely club on “ club row” in Mayfair. The staff could not be nicer. The food is excellent and it has a relaxed club feel. The decor and club have not been well maintained and are in need of a fresh coat of paint. There is a lovely garden with Lutyens style benches where drinks or afternoon tea can be enjoyed. The rooms leave much to be desired. We booked 4 months in advance and ended up with a room with no windows in the attic. There is no AC and minimal amenities in this closed dark space. They did renovate the bathroom but again with only a skylight this room is dark and closed in. If there was a fire these room would be a disaster to be in. Enjoy the lovely staff and service but avoid the rooms.

Invited in for a drink by a member, I couldn't help but be overawed by the club, its architecture, and its heritage. The Italian palazzo influence is clear in the marble columns and the central 'courtyard' (roofed, in deference to London's climate). The club sprawls off into various rooms, all fitted out as you'd expect with leather armchairs and floor to ceiling bookcases wherever there isn't a portrait of an illustrious club member hanging on the walls. As my host said, he likes to drop in here from time to time to escape from the 21st century (there's a strict ban on mobile phones), and it really does feel like stepping back in time. If you get an invite to visit or dine here, drop everything else, get your suit dry cleaned, and say yes!
