The theater is beautiful. The staff is very polite. I was so impressed by this place. We saw the Physician Magician and were a bit disappointed. It's a 2 hour show with 30 minutes of magic and 90 minutes of him rambling on and on. We considered leaving at intermission but gave him another chance. The tricks are not bad, but he really needs to speed it up.

Google
Gorgeous theater and an A+ night out. I drove in from Minneapolis with two friends to see the great Dani DaOrtiz perform. It was one of the best magic shows I've ever experienced. We had our minds completely blown for an hour straight. The sightlines, sound, lighting, and staff at the theater were all outstanding and I'd love to come back to take in more shows soon.

Google
Excellent venue, nice bar, great layout and ambiance. The Physician and Magician Show was fantastic! Highly recommend! Drinks are very pricey though.

Google
Best magic shows - hidden secret in Chicago. My husband and I just saw Dani Daortiz, one of the best card magicians. I have seen him on Penn and Teller show - Fool Us. It was by far the most amazing magic show we have seen. Every trick was mind blowing - as if this magician has real magic. And so very funny! We have seen about 4 other performers there, and each one was fantastic. Small venue, the prices are incredible for how close you get to the magicians and the caliber of the magicians we have seen. Parking is easy - there is a fenced area. Beautiful, old fashioned theater but modernized. It is truly a wonderful place to see a show. I truly hope this theater succeeds - it is so great.

Google
Beautiful theater.... however, no heat. It was as cold as the outside air. I needed my inner layer, which was not with me, to keep my lungs warm. Next time, post that there will be not heat and to dress accordingly...... staff was polite, I received hot water with lemon to warm me up. I'm not into a lot of story telling prior to the trick.

I visited for the Saturday afternoon show by Joshua Jay and had a great time. The theater, lobby and bar are all amazing spaces. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a really intimate theater and a great place for magic performances. Highly recommended.

Google
My Son had his business's Christmas celebration at the Rhapsody Theatre, in Chicago, which included a magic show. The "Physician Magician" put on an absolutely amazing show, and was so entertaining! Our show was just about a 2 hours long. The staff, food and bartenders all went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken good care of! Very friendly, clean and highly recommended to visit this wonderful establishment! Thank you Physician Magician for a magical evening!

Yelp
Rhapsody Theater is a very clean and beautiful theater located in Roger Park. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Not only were there bartenders behind the bar, but there was also servers that brought drinks to our tables as well as food. We visited this theater to watch the Physician Magician. This show was awe-inspiring and definitely thought provoking. The Physician Magician performed the most baffling tricks and shared life lessons along the way. Though I didn't have any snacks here, I did enjoy a Bocce Balsamo. It was the perfect light and refreshing drink to sip on throughout the show. I am looking forward to going back soon!

Yelp
What's life without a little magic! We came by to see a show on a Sunday afternoon and we're able to enjoy the Physician's show. When you walk in there is a bar and some tables but through the double doors, you'll find a 2nd bar with a speakeasy feel. When we checked in, we were assigned our tables. We ordered drinks before hand and the drinks were brought to our tables. We also ordered the pimento cheese and crackers. We snacked on the crackers most of the show as there was quite a bit of pimento in the bowl. The show was great and was broken into 2 parts. There were a lot of great metaphors along with it being a very interactive show with the crowd. Many of the tricks and magic left us in complete awe. We can't wait to come back and see future shows!

Yelp
Love that magic is running strong again in Chicago. We've seen two magic shows here and they've been great. Nice small theater means all seats are good in this place. Also there's table service for some light snacks (really enjoy the small pizza they get from next door) and a decent bar selection. There's even a free parking lot that seems to almost be a secret so look that up on their website if you are coming.

Yelp
We had a magical weekend date when we attended one of the opening weekend performances by Physician Magician at the incredibly gorgeous Rhapsody Theater We were thoroughly enraptured by the magic and illusions that we saw  and really enjoyed this show. It's an intelligent, sophisticated Magic show.  Even if you are watching very carefully,  you will not be able to figure out how he does it. They offer delicious, magically themed drinks for purchase. I had the Boche Balsamo (vodka, amaretto, orange juice and orange bitters), and my husband had one of the best oldfashion's he's ever had here. The Rhapsody Theater is beautifully decorated in an Art Deco style and is an attraction in its own right. With intimate cabaret style seating, you feel like you are at a private show watching an old friend perform. It's a perfect place for #datenight,  friends night out, or even family night.

Yelp
Went to the AMAZING @RhapsodyTheater in Rogers Park for a show last night - this was my 1st time & I was blown away! The venue itself including seating & decor is stunning, the magic show was PHENOMENAL (saw the Physician Magician). They also do other shows, jazz nights (without cover & drink minimum!), etc. The venue is relatively new & support is important for it (& for arts in general as we all know). If you haven't been, can't recommend this enough for a night out!

Yelp
Where to start?! We just saw Dr. Ricardo Rosenkranz' Physician Magician show. The entire audience was captivated throughout the show. I'm still trying to figure out how he accomplished all of the tricks! Family friendly, sophisticated, and entertaining. The recently renovated theater is stunning and a site to see in itself. We also enjoyed the delicious menu of mocktails. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great evening and I look forward to coming back to another show in the future. A true gem in Chicago!

Yelp
One of the best magic experiences I've ever attended. The night I arrived, they had a terrific live jazz band entertaining guests while they waited in anticipation for the show to begin. We were also treated to some of the best mocktails I've ever had (try the ginger cider ). Then the show began. It was some of the best magic I'll ever see. The only thing that was even better? I had the honor of meeting both Dr. Rosenkranz (the genius behind the Rhapsody Theater) before the show AND Jamie Allan (the genius who is currently performing there) after the show. Both seemed genuinely happy to see me there. It was a testament to how friendly and welcoming this place was. Can't wait to come back - hope it's soon!

Yelp
Fun night out... order Italian from the place next door, bring it into the bar and enjoy a cocktail pre show and then enjoy a show. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Got tickets to see the Zabrecky Magic show on a whim. Had never heard of him before, but was looking for something unique to do and TimeOut recommended it. First off -- what a cool space. I didn't really know about this theater at all. Apparently it has changed hands a few times and gone through some renovations. But they did a great job. There's a cool bar/restaurant area in the front and the stage is through a corridor in the back. All beautifully done. The show was definitely unique and a lot of fun. Weird blend of magic/humor/and overall just...weirdness (in a good way, of course)! Definitely a great addition to Roger's Park! Also, parking was super easy -- found a space basically right in front of the theater on the street. And the Morse El stop is right there, too. I highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
A real gem in the heart of Rogers Park. Ricardo Rosenkranz, The Physician Magician, has restored this beautiful theater and brought long form magic to Chicago. Everything is absolutely top notch. Treat yourself to an amazing show.

Yelp
I had an unbelievable time at Rhapsody Theater recently for Jeff McBride's Festival of Magic. The three day festival was top notch and included stellar performances by Jeff McBride and magicians from the world famous Magic and Mystery School. I look forward to visiting again soon!

Yelp
A great time on opening night. The venue is of course fabulous and is in great shape after a few dormant years. The bar is still building and the staff a wee bit disorganized, but that is neither surprising nor something to expect as everyone grows into the space. We treated to an excellent performance by Carisa Hendrix as Lucy Darling. She is better in person than on the inter-tube. Be sure to catch her show wherever you can; no place better than the Rhapsody. The bar featured a specialty cocktail with a tie in the act. The Classy B**ch was flavorful, refreshing and made you want more. The drink was good too. During the introduction, we were told to look forward to future performances of chamber music, live bands, plays, and more magic (Jandro from Spain is planned for November 2022; guessing immediately before or after a P&T Fool Us appearance). Get on their mailing list ASAP as there are great things coming to the Rhapsody Theater!

Yelp
Kayla Dreschers Show IN YOUR HEAD ---WOW!!! What a truly Energetic Show !! I went to this show and after watching Kayla on stage interacting with us (The Audience) . I truly felt the energy she exhibited through her magic and illusions she preformed for us. She is truly a master of her craft Keeping myself and the rest of the audience involved every step of the way! What a warm fun filled evening we all had. I cannot say or share enough of what a good time is to be had by any and all if they partake in this energetic show. And let's not leave out what a great venue the Rhapsody Theater is from the Theme inspired cocktails to the vintage inspired decor. Every time I visit here I can't help from taking and sharing some photos. Again go see Kayla if you want to see a truly fantastic show and absorb some of her amazing energy!!!! Donnie K

Yelp
I love this place!! I got invited to see Lucy Darling and I had a great time! She's amazing and super funny. They served wine and light bites. The staff was very nice and helpful. I will be returning and bringing friends the next round! Beware sitting in the front two rows as you may become part of the show!! Lol

Yelp
Last night we went to an extraordinary Magic show at the newly renovated Rhapsody theater in Rogers Park on the northside. Everything about the evening was truly magical. We saw the performance of Dr. Ricardo Rosenkranz known as the Physician Magician. He is an actual physician, who even teaches the connection of the history of magic, and medicine at universities. His magic is cloaked in message. Important messages. The need for empathy and empowerment. He is so talented, so kind and there are an array of other magicians who perform at different times. Dr. Rosenkranz renovated this extraordinary old building during the pandemic and it is an elegant facility. And the menu with delicious treats, drinks and mocktails all add to the experience. I can't wait to return! Perfect for all ages - whether a romantic date or evening out with family or friends.

Yelp
Located in Rogers Park near the Morse Red Line train, this charming theater has new management and a remodeled bar. The bar is fully stocked and has marvelous stained glass windows, a beautiful tin ceiling and handsome wood floors. As you enter a narrow hallway, there are colorful posters of current and coming shows. The cozy audience area has lots of tables for two and the back area has leather seating for more than two people. The front seats are amazing and so close to the stage. I would highly recommend the Lucy Darling show. There's a lot of audience participation. She's coy and flirty yet not shy. Lucy is a great performer and magician. The music is reminiscent of the Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin Era. Alcohol and non alcohol drinks are served at the table. Management is working on offering food options. The staff are super friendly. The place reminds me of a bygone Era before air conditioners were in homes. The audience area is well ventilated. You might bring a sweater.

Yelp
A total gem, and a gorgeous space. Took my two sons to the Zabrecky Hour, which was a perfect mix of wow-you magic, wit, crowd interactions, and storytelling. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We went there for a magic show and ordered the hummus plate and 2 drinks... our food never came and the drinks took a half hour despite everyone around us being served. At the intermission I asked where the hummus was and they said they ran out and had no record of our order. Thankfully I pulled up my chase account and was able to prove I indeed ordered and paid. Our waitress was rude and seemed bothered by us asking. 2 stars because the manager was apologetic and eventually provided a refund.

Yelp
I'll be honest; I hadn't attended a magic show since I was a child until last night. I wasn't even aware of this gorgeous theatre. But I'm so glad I went, and I'll certainly be back. I found the performance to be enlightening and quite entertaining/even mind blown at points. All staff members I encountered were extremely polite and friendly. Drinks were good, food was also good. The theatre was beautiful and had really great lighting/vibe. Food and drinks are also brought right to your seat. I'll definitely be checking this place out again!

Yelp
Rhapsody Theater is a hidden gem on the north side of Chicago. I saw Lucy Darling, Ross Johnson AND The Zabrecky hour! I brought my kids and my parents, and we had memorable evenings that continue to bring laughter and smiles. The shows were all an incredible blend of theatre, magic, comedy and mystery, perfect for the whole family. I can't wait for the next star-studded evening at the Rhapsody Theater.

Yelp
One if the best performances we have seen in years - magically philosophical and family friendly. Some pretty amazing magic especially with Rubriks cubes. The venue is really beautiful at this East Rogers Park location. Check out Moody's Pub or The Waterfront Cafe afterwards.

Deriniece M.

Yelp
It was my first magic show! Everything was great from purchasing the tickets, ordering food/drinks, to the performance itself. Thank you!

Yelp
Went and saw a mind reader and we had so much fun! The theater is beautiful, the sound and lights to notch and the mind reader was amazing. Highly recommend for a great night with friends!

Yelp
I *just* left the most amazing magic show, "The Physician Magician" at The Rhapsody Theater! This beautiful little theater in Rogers Park is a MUST, as this experience was truly magical and one my partner and I will not soon forget. The drinks were solid and there were both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options available. (They also had small bites, but I didn't try any of that.) The show itself was engaging, moody and extremely polished... perfect for those who want to believe in magic as well as the disbelievers. I got called up on stage for one of the tricks and I still can't begin to explain to you how it was done; it was seamlessly executed. We were seated up front and I still left perplexed, but of course loving the mystery! I highly recommend this for a date night, special occasion, or as a special surprise gift for friends or family. I really can't imagine anyone not enjoying this, it was good for all ages. I can't recommend this show enough and I can't wait to go back to check out the other events!

Yelp
Great small venue. Went to a magic show and enjoyed the intimate setting. Wonderful place with great entertainment. Highly recommend

Yelp
rhapsody theater is a chicago treasure. a little bit like stepping back in time as it recalls the great era of 1920's & 1930's theaters. a great neighborhood theater, but close to the train for easy access from the north (including evanston) & south sides. also easy access by car via lsd. easy street parking too. and we biked there! nice bar, good seating, good sight lines; a great space to enjoy a show. & lucy darling is always a great time!
