Where To Get Chinese Delivery And Takeout In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Unsurprisingly, The Rice Noodle in the West Village serves many different variations of rice noodle dishes. The biggest decision you’ll have to make when you order takeout from this West Village spot is whether or not you want your noodles to come in a broth bath. You can see their menu and order directly through their website here." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim

I believe my friend and I came during a grand re-opening (they had said they were open for two months and had a discount going). The food was phenomenal; we got the beef noodles, house special, chicken wings, and gyoza. Everyone was really warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Both of the noodles’ soup changed based on the meat toppings (the soup comes in a separate container), and the bok choy and egg toppings were delicious. Will definitely be back!

I came here on a Friday night with a friend in Nov 2018, and I ordered the rice noodle with a piece of pork and vegetables. I added some spicy oil to it. Upon my first bite, I knew the rice noodles were overcooked. They weren't chewy and they were way to soft. It was very, very mediocre. The soup was tasty though. The portions were small for the $11.90 post-tax price, and there could have definitely been more meat and more vegetables.

Updated per owner's prompt response which I really appreciate. Edited the oily soup and beef part based on owner's explanation. For the soup base, again, really appreciate the offer and will take note in the future. Just want to highlight that is a collective comment from me and 3 of my other friends, so I'd say it is salty, at least to our preferences. Really skeptical about all the other reviews, and here's why. Went there with my friends on a slow sunday afternoon (non rush hour), ordered 3 fatty beef with tomato soup rice noodle plus a plate of dumblings, ate it on the spot so delivery time/ sogginess shouldn't be in the equation of our review. Soup base is way too salty, to a point where we can barely taste any tomato flavor, not to mention how oily it is which is quite the opposite of being healthy. (Update: it is only oily because of fatty beef so I guess stay away from fatty beef if you prefer a lighter broth) The portion is quite disappointing as I would have expected more beef and noodles, but as far as I remembered they offered free refill for noodles(?) so that kinda justified the price tag. Maybe I expected too much given how it's rare to see a restaurant specializing in rice noodles, but the fact that the restaurant is located in soho not chinatown should have been a red flag. Dumpling wrappings are way too thick and the filling tastes like the ones in frozen dumplings, would prefer them to serve soy sauce on the side, dumplings are completely soaked in soy sauce when served which made the saltiness unbearable.

Noodle is okay and the soup lacks flavor. The staff keeps smoking in front of the store. I live next door and quite often I have to smell the smoke when I enter my building. I will edit and change this review if things improve.
