Located in the heart of Chengdu, just moments from the city’s cultural landmarks and bustling commercial districts, The Ritz‑Carlton Chengdu stands as a modern symbol of refined luxury. Since opening in 2013, the hotel has been celebrated for its exceptional service and has earned the prestigious Five Diamond award, underscoring its commitment to world‑class hospitality. Rising from the 23rd to the 41st floor of a sleek commercial tower, the property offers 353 beautifully appointed rooms and suites that blend contemporary elegance with the timeless sophistication for which The Ritz‑Carlton is known. During my stay, I enjoyed one of the One Bedroom Suites on the 31st floor, a spacious 105‑square‑meter retreat with sweeping views over the city and exclusive access to the Ritz‑Carlton Club Lounge. The suite opens with a small foyer leading into a combined living and dining area, complemented by a bedroom with a walk‑in closet and a marble bathroom filled with natural light. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with fresh fruit and one of the hotel’s signature cakes, and throughout my stay I was delighted by thoughtful gestures, while twice‑daily housekeeping ensured a consistently pristine environment. The suite’s amenities included two flat‑screen TVs, an audio system, a Nespresso machine with tea‑making facilities, complimentary bottled water, central lighting and privacy controls, and free Wi‑Fi. The marble bathroom was a highlight, featuring dual vanities, a bathtub with a mirror‑embedded TV, a rain shower overlooking Chengdu’s skyline, and a secluded Japanese toilet with its own washbasin, all enhanced by luxurious Diptyque toiletries. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows throughout the suite created a bright, welcoming atmosphere and offered captivating views of the vibrant city below. Breakfast at SPICES, the hotel’s international all‑day dining restaurant, was generous and varied, featuring freshly baked pastries, dim sum, noodle soups, eggs made to order, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, yogurts, cereals, pancakes, and a wide selection of Asian specialties. The only minor drawback was the absence of freshly pressed orange juice and à la carte options, though the friendly and attentive service more than compensated. The 38th‑floor Ritz‑Carlton Club Lounge provided an exclusive retreat with panoramic city views, personalized service, and complimentary culinary presentations throughout the day. Club breakfast offered a more private atmosphere with a refined buffet and simple egg dishes prepared to order. Afternoon tea featured sweet delights, scones, and savory bites paired with TWG tea or freshly brewed coffee, while evenings brought alcoholic beverages and canapés resembling a small dinner buffet, complemented by two freshly prepared à la carte dishes from the chef — often including a pasta of the day. The charming panda‑themed coffee art added a delightful touch. Beyond the lounge, the Lobby Lounge and adjoining bar offered an elegant setting for afternoon tea, light bites, cocktails, and fine wines. The hotel’s spa, state‑of‑the‑art fitness center, and spacious indoor pool with panoramic views and an underwater sound system provided a perfect balance of wellness and relaxation. With attentive service, refined culinary offerings, outstanding facilities, and a prime location ideal for both business and leisure, The Ritz‑Carlton Chengdu stands out as one of the city’s most compelling luxury hotels - a place where comfort, elegance, and thoughtful hospitality come together seamlessly.
