At River Oyster Bar, expect an enticing array of fresh seafood, generous portions, and a lively happy hour that keeps Brickell's crowd coming back for more.
"We’ll be the first to tell you that Brickell is full of overpriced restaurants that leave both your wallet and stomach empty, but River Oyster Bar is our favorite exception. The portions here are big and reasonably priced (by Brickell standards). We love the crab cakes—they’re the size of Costco muffins and bursting with crab meat. And if the sea scallops a la plancha are on the menu, get them. Food aside, River Oyster is just an uncomplicated restaurant in a very complicated neighborhood. It’s an obvious Brickell favorite, but also one of the best places for a seafood dinner in all of Miami." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"Gotta love a lengthy happy hour, and The River delivers here, with deals from 3-7 p.m. Find $1.75 oysters, $8 stuffed mushrooms, $8 well cocktails and basic martinis, and more." - Missy Frederick
"As its name would suggest, oysters are king here, so it’s a smart move to grab a seat at the bar during happy hour that runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and enjoy the bivalves for $1.75 a pop. Pair with wine or prosecco for $8, cocktails (including a basic martini) for $8, or specialty cocktails for $11. There’s also La Rubia draft beer for $5 per pint. All goes down well with goat cheese croquettes with fig jam, jamon serrano toast, and duck tacos, which also are discounted during happy hour." - Eater Staff
"Brickell is full of overpriced restaurants that leave both your wallet and stomach empty. But this reliably great seafood spot isn’t one of them. The oysters are fantastic—and a great chaser to the salty tears you cried in the bathroom stall this morning after your boss called you an incompetent turkey. But forget work and take the rest of the day to eat giant crab cakes and seared scallops with your unemployed friends who will probably expect you to pick up the check. Service here is friendly and, because this is Brickell, pretty nonjudgemental. They’ve seen it all. So if you want to have another good cry in their bathroom, have at it. "Grilled offerings and oysters flown in from all over the country are staples at this Brickell top spot that was moved to a larger location down the street from its original outpost. The menu includes inventive dishes such as yellowtail snapper filet served Chinese style and Glory Bay King salmon with fried brown crab rice for extra zest. The restaurant’s daily happy hour, when oysters are half-price, has been as popular as the restaurant since its inception in 2003." - Eater Staff
