Amazing performance! We saw this for the first time and enjoyed it! It was so mesmerizing how they do their performances so perfectly and in sync. It's a must see and you need to go in person! Note that the hall was very busy and there were tons of people inside. But it's definitely a unique experience in NYC.

Google
I went into this thinking it was a dance performance and didn't know what else to expect. This production was amazing, I loved it. All of the acts were very good and I liked the storyline a lot, especially the nativity scene at the end. The rockettes were very impressive. The theatre was very big but the bathroom lines were really long. When everyone left after it was over the room became freezing

Derrick Ryskamp

Google
Amazing and awe inspiring show! Best part of the show was the nativity scenes doing the full Christmas story. Brought me to tears the production quality with the 3 wiseman and nativity. The rocketettes were spot on the entire show and our kids were locked in the entire time!

Google
We did the whole Christmas in New York trip, and no trip is complete without going to see the Radio City Music Hall Holiday Spectacular with the Rockettes at 10:15pm. Shout-out to the actual live camel that appears at the end of the show. I thought it was fake, but later learned that there is, indeed, a camel 🐫 In fact, there are multiple camels, but only one camel is used in 2 scenes. I guess even camels need understudies!

Google
As a native New Yorker who moved away and saw this show years ago, I must say that the show does not disappoint. Everything has been updated from even 10 years ago. The video use takes advantage of the entire theater. The singing and dancing are astounding and the production numbers are grand. It was truly a Spectacular. I said “Wow” many times during the show including for the nativity scene and frost fairies. Santa was a perfect host and the Christmas music was on point. Would recommend this show to everyone. The Rockettes are truly a delight. No one is front and center. They are a team that cherishes precision and teamwork. Love them and the diversity they bring.

Google
Attended the Christmas Spectacular show on Christmas Eve. It was truly amazing! Well worth every penny, and I would see it again in a heartbeat. The entrance process could use some finessing, lines were not smooth or efficient. But once you got in all the staff were lovely and quick to help!

Google
Amazing! Wasn’t too enthused about going with the wife and her sister but I’m glad I did! The best Christmas show I’ve ever seen! Realistic special effects, wow! Go see it! You won’t be disappointed!

Google
It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience because I do not think I will ever go again, as they combined great music, amazing tap skills, flawless dancing coordination, computer animation, and a well-organized staff (even for using the restroom) but some skits are boring or too long. I give them a low review because they use live animals, including 2 camels, a donkey, and sheep, in their show, subjecting them to confusing lights and loud sounds. The fact that they feel the need to use live animals for human entertainment when it is not necessary is heartbreaking. This is evident as they use costumes when pretending to be bears, proving that live animals are not required. Having 3-4 shows a day suggests that the animals are not provided with adequate living conditions.

Yelp
It's a great show to see if you happen to be visiting NYC during the holiday season. We got a Thursday 5pm show at 2nd Mezzanine zone C 401-402 and the view was amazing. The sound stage is nearby but it doesn't obstruct the view at all. This zone is generally cheaper because of the sound stage, but also it's about $80 a person, so if you pick the right seats you're getting a lot of savings with minimal obstructions. It seems like the show is the same each year, so if you've already seen it before then there's not much of a point. This was our first time and we really enjoyed the performances, costumes, and set designs. The use of tech and lighting was very neat! They recommend showing up 1 hour early, but if you don't plan on buying any concessions at all, you can definitely show up closer to the start of the show. No photos or videos during the show, but people still do anyway. As along as you're not using flash, pretty much nobody cares.

Yelp
TLDR: This was a holiday "comfort show" and I was disappointed by my own expectations. I've seen this show almost every year for nearly 15 years. While I love the show, I had to reduce stars because of the most recent one. The failures to acknowledge the musicians is what decreased this review. Music is the foundation for the show. without musicians, there would be no music and it would be far less magical. I don't love change so I am harsh on this review. If you've never seen the show, GO SEE IT! THERE ARE NO BAD SEATS! I have sat in almost every section and can confidently advise that all seats are "good seats." I was disappointed by my expectations. The Pros: - very strong Rockette team! Whichever group does the evening shows, PHENOMENAL! tight and precise with the intricate choreography - Amazing talent from the musicians, all dancers, all vocalists, and animals - beautiful venue -very speedy security lines when everyone listens to directions and does their part to make things go smoothly -friendly and warm concession stand workers and ushers -all classic numbers (12 days of christmas, ragdolls, wooden toy soldiers, christmas in ny, the nutcracker, and the living nativity) are amazing and I hope they never ever get cut from the show the technical stuff was a nightmare. The show started nearly 20 minutes late. The organ players kept vamping and vamping. They never did their finale or their bow. Organ 1 did not retreat back in and this poor man had to get off and go around the main stage. There were no streamers which I was looking forward to since my seat was in the orchestra level (center sections within the first 20 rows). There was also no Frost Fairy drones yet their stand was up on the mini balcony. It's a shame that musical talent was not recognized at all in this show. In most shows, the pit musicians start the show and everyone cheers. they come back at the end for the bows. NOT ONE RECOGNITION during this show. very upsetting because playing in pit grueling. Pit musicians deserve their half a second acknowledgement given by on stage performers. I used to love the Christmas Spectacular because of the emphasis and "stage time" that the musicians experience. It was inspiring as a young musician growing up During New York at Christmas scene, when the ensemble is in central park, every other show has ice skaters. It was just empty space during the show, If the synthetic ice is too difficult to maintain, production could have found roller skaters to have the same effect. Again, missed the mark since Ice skating is a big holiday and tourist attraction in the city. I also noticed that the intricate stage leveling system was barely used. In previous years, all of the performers are "layered" so the audience can see each group on a different level. During the Ragdoll act, the Rockettes usually come up out of the pit and are nearly in the audience. Tonights show did not utilize the pit stage. Lastly, one of my fondest memories was the 3D show. It was amazing to see santa fly through NYC and see the landmarks. I think it's a great way for tourists to better connect to the show. I understand that getting rid of the 3D glasses was probably a sustainability choice, but they could have adapted it such as requiring glasses to be recycled/returned, bring your own, or another creative solution. IN CONCLUSION: The talent and creativity throughout the show is outstanding. The small technical details is what makes or breaks a show. While I was disappointed, a simple announcement of "we are experiencing technically difficulties tonight, the show may be delayed and varied. thank you" would have gone a lone way. I was overall disappointed... and please acknowledge the musicians!

Yelp
I loved the snow! I wasn't sure what to expect, but in addition to the dancers, there were singers, skaters, and musicians. The woman playing the keyboard and the man on drums looked like they were so full of joy. Everyone was so talented and the digital effects were amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was not expecting this show to be all that good, considering it is a PG show and good for all ages (just not my typical style of show). However, I found the entire special very entertaining and the choreography and digital effects fun. The tickets are pricey, but it's something you should do at least once if in the city during the holidays. My husband and I took my sister to see it and she hadn't seen it in 20 years, so the digital aspect blew her away. We sat in Section ORCH2, Row D, Seat 210-212 (see my photos and videos for that view) and paid $342 total for 3 tix on 12/18/24. We were happy with our seats!

Yelp
Came to see the Christmas Spectacular show after 10 years. The theater hasn't changed much. The ladies lounge/restroom area still has a vintage vibe. The restroom does have attendants to guide visitors to ensure the flow of the bathroom line goes smoothly. The seating at the theater looks as I remember it yet with some added technological advances. The show itself has improved with added scenes and technology add-ons. Loved the show and it was wonderful to see how it's updated with the times. Will probably wait a few years again before visiting again to see what new changes are implemented.

Yelp
Oh my! My wife has had it on her bucket list to go and see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall for her whole life. I'm not much of a big city guy, so I was unsure I would enjoy the experience. Though the crowds during the holidays are quite extensive, I really enjoyed the weekend trip. The highlight, between Christmas displays and eating great food, was the Christmas Spectacular. The dancers and choreography left me speechless. I'm not emotional, but I actually had a few tears of joy at one point. I was pleased that they did not shy away from the Christian theme of Christmas and actually had camels and sheep. The show was indeed spectacular and even though it was a bucket list item, I'm sure we will go back to see it again. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Yelp
An absolutely breathtaking show! Great to bring the family and visitors. It's an incredible showcase of the athleticism of the Rockettes. My favorite is the sassy bear in the nutcracker number and of course Clara! They also use live animals in the nativity scene. They recommend arriving 30 mins to an hour early - definitely follow their recommendation! You can check out the Rockefeller tree down the block before or after the show. You'll line up to get your tickets checked and enter security (similar to TSA at the airport). No outside food and drink is allowed. Definitely hit the bathrooms before the show as there's no intermission! I would definitely choose a middle seat if possible to see the beautiful formations in their fullest glory. We went to the 10pm showing and got a middle seat decently close up in the orchestra. I also went last year and preferred being in a closer seat! Do NOT take any photos or videos as the staff will come shine a bright flashlight on you, disrupting the audience members beside you. If you attempt multiple times they will ask you to leave. Some perks: Chase cardholders receive 20% off concessions. Delta sky miles members can redeem a small popcorn or Prosecco at the upper level concessions booth.

Yelp
This show was the highlight of a recent trip to NYC and we enjoyed many tourist-y things. Time flew by! An absolute must see, we expected synchronized kicks, but these talented performers were so much more!!! Tip: performers are on stage, side of theater, and aisles during different parts of the show. My seats were in EE, next time I plan to move back a bit for a better view of the performances not on the stage.
google avatar

Casidy R.

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular. The women and men on stage are captivating and put on a great show. The auditorium staff were all very friendly and helpful. A great way to start the Christmas season

Yelp
This NYC staple is a must. Truly enjoyed the Christmas Spectacular. I feel everyone should see the Rockettes at least once in their life. Family friendly. Entertaining. True to the reason of Christmas. Watching the girls dance is amazing- the way they are perfectly synced is awesome! Your husband might not enjoy it and take a little nap, but you and your kids will.

Yelp
It may not be your thing, but my wife has waited 35 years to see this iconic production again and she loved every minute of it. Live orchestra, creative lighting and video, 3D imaging, mechanical birds, creative costumes and, of course, the Rockettes. Not my thing either but making the wife happy sure is.

Yelp
So blessed to have already seen the Christmas Spectacular during the 2023 holiday season! This year we went with the teachers' union from my school district. So we had a blast going with so many friends. Every year the show is basically the same with a few minor tweeks. The show is approximately 90 minutes with no intermission, so it's enjoyable for the kiddos to get through. They love seeing Santa and hearing all the Christmas songs. The Rockettes are always simply amazing as well. Watching the show is something I look forward to every holiday season!

Yelp
I've always wanted to see the Rockettes so this was especially exciting. I don't know why I thought it would be a regular dance show, but I was wrong. My friend described the show to me as Disneyland for Christmas, which was exactly what the show was. Also, my company was giving a 15% off for all tickets which was great, shout-out to them! Here are some of my favorite parts of the show: - This comment is not part of the show, but it's honestly kind of shocking how the team can do 4 shows a day. I know they rotate between 3 casts, but just thinking about the logistics alone is extremely impressive. - Radio City Music Hall is stunning. I can't believe such a large theater was in the smack-dab middle of New York, it's quite unbelievable. The giant rings around the stage as well as the ability for the stage to move large pieces up and down - think the entire orchestra was coming out of the orchestra pit and then going back down - was amazing. I would come to see another show at the venue just to experience the stage once more. - I appreciate that it wasn't just Rockettes, but there was also a real-life camel and a whole ice skating set. It made the show incredibly entertaining and you wouldn't know what to expect next. - My favorite Rockettes part was the wooden soldiers song. It is pretty incredible to watch 36 people stand in a straight line and pivot across the stage in an extremely orderly manner. - The dancers were amazing! You could really see the effort and time they put in to make every movement so precise. - The stage was incredible with all the props. I just remember so clearly Santa's workshop and there was a giant teddy bear that appeared for literally not even 5 minutes and went away. That prop was absolutely incredible, but it was crazy how unused it was. I will say one part which I wasn't crazy about was the Jesus scene which was pretty politically wrong. Yeah, not a fan... maybe they can just take this part out and focus on a snowman or something? Overall, very good show minus the Jesus part. Would definitely come back again to see the show as well as just the venue in general to experience the beautiful stage again.

Yelp
My favorite scene was the Nutcracker, the 3D experience and the last scene with the animals. Technology is very advance I suggest that you get some robotic animals that look like the real thing, rather than put those animals thru torture. They belong in their own surroundings. Not on a stage! We paid extra for the Tour! You're basically paying to rome their hallways and climb up and down stairs, although i must admit our tour guide was awesome! I don't recommend that part of it. Some of the scenes I thought should be deleted, some dragged and others were cool. I have to go with mic reviews on this one. So I'll keep my stars somewhere in the middle.

Yelp
On Christmas Day, my husband and I saw the Rockettes perform in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, an annual Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. The show was 90 minutes and had consisted of the following performances: -The Overture with Singing Ushers -Sleigh Ride (Reindeer dance) -Santa's 3D-ride to NYC -12 Days of Christmas Tap Dance Number -The Nutcracker (with Dancing Bears) -Wooden Soldiers -New York at Christmas (Bus Tour/Times Square) -Department Store (Santa and Ellie) -Dancing Santas -Chestnuts Sing-Along with Santa's Elves -Santa's Workshop -Rag Dolls -Man with the Bag -Dance of the Frost Fairies -Nativity Scene My favourite acts were the 12 Days of Christmas Tap Dance Number (I really liked that one!), Wooden Soldiers, and the Nativity Scene (which had a real camel!). Some of the acts were a bit cheesy (I did not care for Santa's 3D-ride to NYC), but overall it was a fun show, great for all ages. [Yelp collections: NY Christmas 2022; Plays, Shows, and Musicals]

Yelp
It was my very first time in radio city, beautiful theater Enjoyed the time spent there watching in awe at the show.I definitely will be returning, hopefully with my grandkids.

Yelp
I saw the Rockettes about 9 years ago so I didn't remember much of it but I do remember I had a good time. I got tickets for Christmas Day and everybody knows Christmas in NYC is magical. It was cold out but the wait wasn't long. The line moved swiftly and tickets scanned quickly. The concessions were super expensive but it's NYC so it was to be expected. I spent over $60 on 2 drinks, popcorn and a pretzel. The 3D aspect of the show was super cool. The Rockettes and marching soldiers was nice but the rest of the show was a little cheesy. The songs and performances weren't memorable but it was still nice to get out for Christmas. If You've never been, I would recommend as a once in a lifetime thing to do. Ig:@soooomuchfun

Yelp
My mother was 3 years old when Radio City Music Hall opened. I have no doubt that the largest indoor theater in the world is as grand today as it was in 1932. The entire venue is beautiful kept and largely looks the same as when I was a kid. Getting through security was seamless and the concession counters are plentiful and were well stocked. We were very happy to see a full house for the show. As usual, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular did not disappoint! It's simply magical and, of course, the Rockettes were PERFECT! The adults loved it; my 5 and 9 year old great nieces were amazed and very impressed that there were live animals in the nativity scene. A good time was had by all!

Yelp
(Attended 11/25/22 FR @ 4:00pm - 5:30pm): A Christmas spectacle of odd proportions that simply rocked and showed love for the city! Another travel bucket list I was excited to accomplish on this recent trip was finally seeing in person the Christmas Spectacular Starring The Radio City Rockettes at the famed Radio City Music Hall https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=v2ibc21lcwPC4L4sh0IE2w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! I've watched this performance over the years in part or in whole on television in addition to the actual Rockettes whenever I viewed the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Was it all that and a bag of nutcrackers to put me in the Christmas spirit!? Because picture taking wasn't allowed during the 90-minute no intermission performance, here was a chronological list of scenes (*denoted dancing): Overture *Sleigh Ride Santa Flies To New York *The 12 Days Of Christmas *The Nutcracker *The Parade Of The Wooden Soldiers *New York At Christmas Santa Steps In/Department Store *Here Comes Santa Claus *Chestnuts *Closer Every Day *Rag Dolls *The Man With The Bag *Dance Of The Frost Fairies (NEW) Living Nativity *Christmas Lights PURCHASE Sec ORCH4 Row N Seat 406 ($170.00): Perfectly centered yet far enough away from the falling "snow" in the front rows and just underneath the 1st mezzanine. The viewing area was spectacular https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TdEA84FxKgIS2_-T1idICg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Soldier Pocket T-Shirt ($40.00): Like I needed another t-shirt to add to my ever growing collection, I wished the year was printed on it https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=IPzmRnGisM7o4F__vUtteA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Mrs. Claus's Mule Cocktail ($18.00): Crafted with Tito's Vodka, passion fruit puree, ginger beer, and lime juice, the vodka was almost non-existent which was then basically a fruity ginger beer drink https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TffDg1wcBglXY1u9JU2qKw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Show Program ($15.00): A nice souvenir with nice pictures and story copy on very good paper stock https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RABO-fvf728Hjw-pp087Hg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Magnet ($10.00 x2): A little souvenir for mom and sister https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=UP0oaCKKIWOwMzvjRHuglA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Tote Bag ($5.00): Decent quality, but I really needed something to carry all the swag I bought https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=enf8a1mAUzCW7hFDmggQQA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! 12pc Souvenir Cookie Bucket ($19.00): This was an impulse buy AFTER the show because I was hungry for chocolate chip cookies which were fresh and surprisingly good https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=57wNVjTNPyK5gXrFRPynIA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE The online purchase was a breeze. They asked that you queued in the line at least 30 minutes before showtime to allow enough time for security check (good thing we showed up even earlier!). Once inside, we headed for the closest concession stand to get our drink on. The lines were long, but the staff got through the patrons in good enough time in all instances. The usher greeted us and graciously showed us to our row. After that, no more service was required. I was impressed with how everything ran like a fine precision Swiss watch - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, there wasn't any onsite parking; instead, there were a ton of offsite garages, or you could take your chance in trying to find a spot along the many congested streets that surrounded the area. Otherwise, just simply walk as I did, or there were a plethora of nearby subway stations - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A nearly 6,000-seat theatre with one large orchestra section and three tiered mezzanines all facing in the same direction towards the stage, each row was slightly raised https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PwtjvYE623ndZ8EY108F3Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. As you'd imagine, everything was decked out in Christmas regalia. A decent amount of natural lighting came into the lobby while electric lights filled in the rest at night. I saw no TVs while festive music and the general hustle-and-bustle of the buzzing activity bombarded your ears. ATTIRE In a suit and dress shoes for the holiday; otherwise, business casual would be the bare minimum. OVERALL The Christmas Spectacular Starring The Radio City Rockettes was awesome, hokey, a total tourist trap, and I loved it! Having said that, I felt I got the itch out of my system. But definitely, everyone should see this show in person at least once. Prices were high, but I didn't let that ruin things. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $287.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Anrana S.

Yelp
The Rockettes at their finest. This year they had a 3D experience that had nothing to do with the show. The live animals really added nothing to the show. We come for the high kicks and the run soldiers falling down. Everything else is filler.

T G.

Yelp
What a fantastic show. Great sets. Full orchestra. Santa. And of course, the Rockettes delivering multiple routines in perfect sync. No lulls in the action. The 90 minutes fly by and you leave full of joy and cheer. So glad we went last night. Can't recommend enough!

Christoph S.

Yelp
Although the Rockette's performance itself was great, I was shocked to find out that live animals are used as probs (donkeys, sheep and camels?!). Their usage is not only unprofessional, but also highly unnecessary given that it does not fit their story line. What a shame.
google avatar

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
This is my third time seeing this show. It has had some minor tweaks, but remains the same. Santa and the Rockettes working hard to push the holiday season, and the baby Jesus. Lots of singing and dancing. You expected something else? The big downside are the bicycle cabs that surround Radio City Music Hall. Each one blaring their music and each bicycle cabbie shouting at prospective customers. Nice! They so effectively surround the building that it is hard to leave.

D S.

Yelp
Good for adults, not for young children. My kids were bored with all the singing. This year 2024 it was different. Too much singing like a choir, Santa came out too early in the show, the confetti that was thrown should be thrown in all areas. Kids were jumping over seats to catch it. One thing o did like is the ambiance of all the special effects in the theater.
google avatar

Phoebe F.

Yelp
My family and I were very pleased with the show. It was fun, engaging, and sentimental. They did an amazing job with the Christmas theme. The only reason for the loss of a star was the never-ending allowance of late arrivals. This went on for at least the first 15-20 minutes of the show. No one, including ushers, seemed to care that we had paid for $$$ tickets because there was a blatant lack of effort to discreetly get the more than 12 late guests to their seats. They all just stood directly in the aisle until they could figure out where to go. It was especially upsetting during the one 3-D scene. This definitely needs to be addressed; however, it should not take away from the talent and production of the show.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
If I could give this 6 stars, I would. If you haven't been to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular yet, what are you waiting for? Even if you've seen the show before, you should seriously consider adding this as a part of your ANNUAL holiday tradition. Every year, scenes are swapped in and out so it's always fresh and exciting. However, you can be certain that the wooden soldiers and the living nativity scenes will always be there. I am not a fan of musicals or Broadway but this show is 90 minutes (no intermission) of pure holiday entertainment. We typically go in November while the weather still has the potential to be warm and this iconic show truly puts me in the holiday spirit. This year, it actually put tears of joy in my eyes and my older son's eyes as it was his first time attending. The theater itself is beautiful and harkens back to an earlier era - especially the bathrooms, lol. Speaking of bathrooms, do not be intimidated by the long line for the ladies room! Getting in and out of that bathroom is very quick. There is an attendant in there directing people to the next available stall, of which there are many. It's the most efficient bathroom process at a venue I've ever seen!

Yelp
Amazing time! The show was awesome. Definitely recommend seeing it at least once. Such a classic show and the rockettes are amazing.

Yelp
This holiday classic is well worth the time if you're in NYC for the holidays and want to enjoy a great show.

Melissa P.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!!! This is a NY staple that never disappoints. There are people who attend every year. I, personally, have attended the last 2 years. It is beautiful and the performers are literally spectacular. They are like magic on the stage. We were lucky to meet one of the incredible performers and she's endearing and watching her and her fellow artists is simply art. Even if it's just one time and you are a tourist or native New Yorker this show is a must!!!
google avatar

Flora H.

Yelp
Cheesy? Absolutely. But still a really fun thing to do for the holidays. We took my mom on Christmas morning and she absolutely loved it. The staff were all super nice, from the guy at the ticket counter who helped me find seats without anyone around since we are still trying to social distance my 80+ year old mom, to the ticket takers who instructed us to wait by the portable heaters so mom could stay warm while we waited for my sister to park the car. The show itself was festive and fun with the Rockettes themselves being actually quite impressive. We'd seen this show in Boston and the NYC version seemed bigger, longer and better. After the show the bathroom line was what I can only call insane, but they were very efficient in steering the line and keeping the stalls full and getting everyone through. They are definitely pros in turning the space around for multiple back to back shows a day. Highly recommend! Tip: They do sell tickets for this at the TKTS booth for 50% off (something I learned later).

Yelp
Wonderful show for all ages to get you into the holiday spirit. The iconic holiday show with music, singing, and dancing has been at radio city since 1933 and remains a top holiday destination in New York. The performance and choreography of the Rockettes is incredible, with jazz, tap, and plenty of impressive high kicks (over 150 per show). Digital projections on the ceilings impressively enhance some of the performances, one of my favorites being the multitude of Santas. The "Living Nativity" is another favorite which has been a part of the show since the first show in 1933, with camels and a long procession of costumed wise men/ women leading to the nativity. Concessions include food, snacks, wine and cocktails. Highly recommend.

Yelp
A Christmas Spectacular it is!!! My girlfriend had always tried to get me to watch it with her and this year I decided to give it a try. It was amazing!!! What a show. These dancers are beyond talented and they put on quite the show. We wore our masks and it was fine. The staff was great, they were very informative and helpful. The theater was beautiful and spacious. Although it was packed I did not feel cramped or uncomfortable. I truly enjoyed the show and regret not coming sooner-what a magical time!!

Yelp
If you think that this show is just about the Rockettes kicking their legs in different ways, check yourself again. It's called a Christmas Spectacular for a reason. I saw a 2pm showing on a weekday, thanks to a really good ticket from the TKTS booth at Times Square. Radio City Music Hall is a whopping 4 FLOORS and is the perfect venue for this show! It's many things combined into one- a 3D projection of Santa cruising through NYC, a modern twist on The Nutcracker, a musical number, and more. No wonder this is a family tradition for many! Definitely coming back and seeing this again, should I be in the city during Christmas another time.

Yelp
This Holiday tradition was amazing. We were 3rd row center. I have not seen the Rockettes before. I thought it was just skinny women dancing. It was much more than that. I really admire them. They go through many costume changes and they all keep a smile on their face while dancing those legs off in high heels! But there were also other things going on as well. Santa was there telling stories and moving lights on the ceiling. I'm having a hard time describing it but it was truly a Christmas spectacular.

Yelp
It's an awesome show but be aware they use live animals. The website says to arrive 1 hour before show time. You would be wise to arrive a lot earlier than that, as the streets and sidewalks are jam packed with holiday crowds and moving forward is difficult. The show starts promptly at the scheduled time, they do not wait for late arrivals. We arrived an hour and 20 minutes early, and the line to get in was already pretty long. We did get in on time however. But security screening is slow going. Enjoy the show.

Yelp
A definite must see in New York at the holidays. We aren't theatre people, come from a small town so we were VERY impressed. Of course the rocketts are great, but the organs, orchestra, singers, lights and displays were all exceptional. Live animals, ice skaters, a lot going on up on that stage! Facility is HUGE, was clean and all the staff very helpful. It is pricey and I wouldn't go every year but we did thoroughly enjoy the show.

Yelp
Outstanding holiday event. Brought our 5 year old granddaughter and she had a fantastic time. Sat in the forward loge section and the view was perfect,. Great mix of singing, Rockettes and Santa which will keep everyone entertained. Huge venue but the seats were extra comfortable and staggered so everyone had a great view. Can't recommend enough and it's just the right length so kids won't get bored. Amazingly good show. Warning: Do not try and eat anywhere near here before the show as the restaurants are jam packed. Pick a neutral, farther away location and then head to the venue.

Yelp
When my grandma said a few months ago that ever since she was a little girl she wanted to see the Rockettes, we knew we had to take her. We made a night of it, treating her to a dinner in Times Square and some Magnolia Bakery down the block. She even got to take her first taxi ride. Since she cannot walk too well anymore we walked on either side of her as the crowds were thick and people were pushy. When we got to RCMH, the ushers were pointing us to go down a block further to the entrance at first. After a few particularly rude sidewalk walkers nearly pushed our little group over, one of the users who saw this, allowed us to go in the door that we were by, so we were so grateful for that. We saw the 7:30 December 27th show. The show itself is really wonderful and the dancers and actors are splendidly talented, but I don't think they need the 3D stuff. You only use the glasses twice - during the beginning countdown and one scene early on. While we had great seats we also brought our binoculars which was fun to do. The show is so heavy on product placements and advertisements, it was actually pretty saturated in it and took me out of the moment on several occasions. Glad we went and saw it with my grandma, definitely scratched it off all our bucket lists!

Yelp
Really cool show. And by the way a good tip is to go after Christmas or specifically new years day. The price for our orchestra seats were originally $200 each and that dropped to $100 or so for new years day. The street parking was easy since it was a national holiday and all the crazy revelers were still asleep. We even got to check out nearby Rockefeller center and the tree before the show. Too bad we missed the new Fao Schwartz inside the center. The show lived up to the hype. We got inside the building quickly thanks to the efficient and capable (in a Disney sort of way) workers. They even checked out stroller within seconds after entering the theater. The first impression I had upon entering was seeing the old school charm of Radiocity. The beautiful chandelier in the main hall. The cool 1930s modernist painting downstairs by the men's lounge. Before the show started my wife wife noticed the two older gentlemen on each side of the stage playing matching organs. It was a cool sight and experience as they played Christmas music. The entire experience of the Christmas spectacular was very lively and engaging. Like experiencing vintage NY but connected to the present. Once the show starts you see lots of cool performances. Some have have a modern performance twist and there are some more traditional acts. There was a 3D show with Santa's sleigh as he flew around nyc and also a visually awesome scene of the north pole with Santa's toy factory. My favorite was probably the little girl dancing with her bears in her dream and the Nutcracker soldiers marching and moving in unison. Of course the rockettes were also featured. The singing, dancing music and performances were all top notch. If I were to have one complaint, it would be that with the way the seats were arranged it was often a little hard to see the full stage over the head of the person in front of me. It was a great show definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
We bought discounted tickets on TravelZoo so we could pick lesser priced seats - center orchestra, halfway back. If we wanted to pay less, and wanted to take a chance on seating, we could have purchased tickets at a 50% discount at a TKTS location the day before. The weather outside was cold, and we should have dressed in more layers to shed. It was very warm inside. Made us sleepy, especially after a good meal. Getting in, we went through metal detectors and then got our complimentary Santa hats (Party City & Radio City Music Hall logos on soft red felt & white fluff) from friendly, efficient staff. The bathrooms were packed, and with a ten minute warning before the show, I decided not to wait. Packed after the show, too, and with staff hurrying us out so they could go home, I waited until we got back to the hotel. The seats were comfortable and the view was perfect. We enjoyed the show which put us into the holiday spirit six weeks early. The cast was exceptional: singing, dancing, and moving all about. Santa was a crowd pleaser, as well as the Rockettes. The orchestra popping up, down, and up again was phenomenal. We liked the projections on the side walls & ceilings, and the projected stars overhead were the only celestial stars we saw in NYC with all its light pollution. If you want to know precise details about the show, go to the website description for the show, but we don't recall drones of light on stage. Did we doze off? My favorite part was the nativity scene with camels and donkey & all the people associated with the true meaning of Christmas. Husband's favorite parts were the precisely choreographed & beautifully dressed Rockettes. We are glad we got to see this remarkable show, and would see it again!

Yelp
Just as the title of the show states, this truly was a spectacular performance! I attended the show at 10pm with my family on Dec. 22, 2019 to celebrate the Christmas season. The location is beautiful, but will undoubtedly be crowded no matter how late you could see the show so be prepared if you have a large crowd attending the show with you. I bought myself a bucket of popcorn which I personally think could've used a little more salt, it was pretty bland. However, what I was concerned about most was the production of the show and that was pretty much perfect. The show moved effortlessly with talented Rockette dancers and other performers that sang and danced for the audience. There is absolutely no audience participation, in case you were concerned about being involved in the show in any way. There is a 3D portion of the show that will be informed to you before the show begins, and it doesn't last very long either so you don't need to hold onto the 3D glasses for very long. This is a great event to take friends or family, with all of the seats being an exceptionally good spot. I personally sat in the 8th row orchestra and I could see the whole show just fine. I don't think you need to worry about any sort of seizure warnings or the music being too loud to listen to. The only issue might be that someone could fall asleep during this show due to its runtime being over an hour and a half- so stay energized. Ultimately, I would recommend this to anybody interested in getting in the holiday spirit! QUICK NOTES -This location is in New York, therefore, it will be very crowded. Either arrive very early to the venue, reserve parking at a parking lot, or take a taxi there. -You MUST print out your tickets or you won't get in -If you leave the show before it is over, you will NOT be entered back in -Arrive at least an hour before your showtime

Yelp
Got 2 tickets this August to the Christmas Spectacular. The organization and the effects of the show were very well put together. I really enjoyed the 3D part of the show and the Rockettes are fabulous. Was it worth it? Not really... I found it pretty average. But by all means, if you like Broadway shows, are a tourist, or have kids, etc. go for it. You might like it more and it's appropriate for all age groups. The tickets for the show go on sale starting between late July and early August and the show runs between early November to early January. The seats at Radio City Music Hall are organized by the orchestra, first mezzanine, second mezzanine, and third mezzanine. The 400s are center line to the stage. For the Christmas Spectacular, go for row MM to ZZ in the 400s, they're the best seats for the view and avoid the first 13 rows (AA to LL). We got RR 406 and 407 and the view was perfect. Oh yea! They also have drinks inside the music hall.

Yelp
This Christmas show was absolutely awesome. I strongly recommend to everyone. A wonderful Christmas gift!

Yelp
They kept live animals, which seemed extremely scared to be on stage. The poor camels were kicking , probably scared of all the loud noises. I do not support the use of live animals, and I was not aware that they would be there when i bought the tickets. They could 100% go without them, seeing that they only used them for a total of 5 minutes. Putting that aside, I am giving them 3 stars for their preformaces, the people were all extremely talented, and the dancing was phenomenal. I wish they didn't ruin it with the usage of live animals.

Yelp
This is just something everyone should attend at least once. Yes it's very cheesy but the Rockettes are simply thier best at Christmas time. Radio Music Hall itself is so grand, experiencing this during the holidays just makes it extra special. The show itself features the Rockettes dazzling kick routines mixed in with Santa Claus skits. I would of preferred more Rockettes features but overall a Christmas classic. Tickets are quite pricey but if you can overlook that, purchase so you can have this experience.

Yelp
Jingle bells....Rockettes Christmas spectacular all the way...oh what fun it is too see in a fun and spectacular way!! What a beautiful and Christmas spirited show. The piano organ players to the orchestra band and all the Christmas decorations and the famous Rockette dancers were all amazing. Location- inside the Radio City Music Hall. 1260 6th Avenue New York, New York 10020. Radio city music hall had a sparkling crystal chandelier tree hanging from a top. They also gave out Santa hats before the show. The lights, the effects, the dancers were simply amazing. They incorporated music such as nutcracker, jungle bells, 12 days of Christmas etc. The play centered across a story of a little boy and his doubtful brother of the state ray of Christmas and Santa. The whole radio city hall had effects with lighting on the roofs. It was truly magical. I can't explain too much in order not to give the show away. If you love Christmas this show will truly warm your heart!

Yelp
I was so excited to see this, and I was enjoying it so much until I saw real camels, donkeys and sheep appear on stage. Using animals as props is one thing, disgusting in itself, but forcing them to perform in such a confined, cruel environment is absolutely abhorrent. If you're against animal abuse and cruelty, beware of this before you decide to book!
