"Beverly Hills has no shortage of hotel rooftop pool bars, but The Rooftop Grill at The Montage is far and away the best one. Is it a total scene? Yes. Will you probably see a 65-year-old woman wearing fur-trimmed leather Gucci slippers screaming about olives? Definitely. But that’s just part of the experience here. And so are the views, the strong cocktails, and the snacks menu you won’t hate. If you’re looking to get fancy with some daytime drinks in Beverly Hills, Rooftop Grill is where you do it." - Brant Cox

Whenever we want to sit back and take in the best vista in Beverly Hills, and have a drink and a good meal, we head to the roof. The Rooftop Grill that is, at The Montage. From up here you can see Greystone Mansion and The Knoll over on the hills. The story of the Montage itself is an interesting one, involving the City of Beverly Hills and Thomas Keller. Many may have forgotten or never knew, but the The Beverly Theater, with it's Indian style dome top, used to sit on these exact grounds where the hotel now stands. While many fought to save the theater, progress won out. However at least we got the Montage and Beverly Canon Gardens to replace it, which itself is now a local icon. These are just some of the thoughts you may have while enjoying the peace and quiet at the Rooftop. You can barely even hear those annoying V12 engines from up here. One word of advice though, if you plan on having more than one cocktail, stay away from the edge, it's quite a long ways down!

Had brunch there the other day and the food was really good. Everyone was really nice, however, the service was a bit slow. For that I give four starts. Will definitely go back to try their dinner menu.

Great atmosphere and good food. Service is just a little slow and could be a bit more attentive.

This was a fine restaurant with excellent average comfort type food. It was at the top of a hotel so the views were nice. The staff was a bunch of extremely attractive young ladies in nice comfortable outfits. It struck me that no one here had tattoos. I really appreciate an establishment with clean skinned people working there! The food was delicious although extremely expensive. I had a hamburger and fries that were like $30. If you are eating in this area you can expect to pay a lot of money no matter where you eat. I don't think this restaurant was any more expensive than anything within blocks of there. The untattoo'd young ladies and The View here make it all worth it.

Good food. Better atmosphere and views of Beverly Hills. A bit pricy for breakfast. But it's in a prestigious hotel after all. Great service. Plenty of free street parking or the nearby Beverly Hills city parking. Very pleasant. Great for families, business meetings or an intimate, fun day.
