The Royal Oak

How wonderful pub, all those small inside they have a great garden. And the ploughman's is wonderful. I also like the Royal Oak Theater which I believe is made by bowman. Check it out you won't be sorry

Brilliant pub, lovely country views and vibes. Large outdoor seating area, plenty of space but gets busy. Every kind of ploughmans you could imagine. That's all they sell. Stroke of genius. Delicious ice cream. Wonderful on a sunny day. Food was delicious and fresh, service was fast. Local ales. Parking a little awkward and small for the size of the pub. Dog friendly outside. Walks nearby.

This place is ALWAYS busy and it’s easy to see why. Food wise, they only serve ploughman’s. But if you’re going to do one thing - then you do it really well! Lovely homemade pickle, dressing, pickled onion and coleslaw. Delish ham, pork pies and sausage rolls. Lots of beers and lagers on tap. Interesting Gins like mermaid gin. I believe they try to source everything locally and you can taste the quality. The perfect pub to walk through the new forest and enjoy a pint afterwards.

Tucked away in stunning New Forest, surrounded by natural beauty and just a stone’s throw from several idyllic walking trails, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long ramble through the woods. The spacious interiors are warm and welcoming, with plenty of room to relax whether you’re dropping in for a quick pint or settling down for a long, leisurely lunch. The menu is packed with delicious dishes and comes in quick! What truly sets this place apart, is the attentive, friendly people working there. Outside, the dog-friendly front garden is a real treat too. 5 stars well deserved!

Called in to The Royal Oak at lunch time. Their menu seemed to specialise mostly in types of ploughman’s. We ordered 1 ham and cheese, saying we’d share it between us. When it came it was very large and delicious! Plenty for the two of us. It came with a large variety and a lot of ham, cheese and bread with cutlery and plates for two! Quick, polite service, large pub garden with well spaced apart tables. Well worth a visit. It’s now in my satnav for return visits!

Very atmospheric pub at the end of the road. Good selection of beers, and knowledgeable staff that can give beer advice. Sheds in the garden may need improving as they are downgrading the view of the pub from this perspective. Beer in the garden still tastes the same though. 😉

A proper pub. Great location in the New Forest with horses trotting around outside (not guaranteed tho!), great beer (mostly serves directly from barrels behind the bar) & great food - all types of ploughman's lunches with all types of home made pies, quickest, sausage rolls as well as variety of cheeses etc etc (although there are visiting food vendors - fish & chips & pizzas). Large portions too. Great atmosphere too - liads of locals, walkers and dogs. A blazing log fire too! It's like they've distilled all the elements of a British pub to come up with this cracking place. We'll definitely be back!

A pub has to be sure of it's menu when they have such a small selection. But The Royal Oak have it spot on. Ploughmans, with cheese, with gammon, with both, with quiche, with sausage roll or with pork pie. Really, really good, and a lovely setting with fantastic views.
