Great vibes at The Royal Room We had an amazing time enjoying a casual girlfriends’ meet-up. Our server, Austin, was absolutely phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and made the night even better. Huge shoutout to Nate behind the bar for being on point with the drinks all night. Great service, great energy, and a spot we’ll definitely be back to!

The Royale Room at the Thompson Austin is such a vibe. The space feels luxurious without trying too hard and the martinis are hands-down some of the best in the city. The staff is warm, attentive, and actually makes great recommendations. The music and overall atmosphere make it the perfect spot for a classy night out, a date, or just treating yourself. The food is soooo yummy, way more elevated than your typical bar snacks. Absolutely recommend.

The cocktails are excellent, but the loaded fries were so good that I had to write this review. Best loaded fries I've ever had, by far.

Celebrated my birthday here this weekend and the staff went above and beyond to make it special!! Kader, the manager, was delightful to work with and provided a 5 star experience. The bartending staff was super friendly and Austin and Sel delivered amazing service. This is a great venue for anyone looking to have an upscale date night out or a special event. 10/10 experience!

We had such a great experience at The Royale Room tonight. The space itself feels elevated yet comfortable — the kind of bar where every detail, from the lighting to the glassware, feels intentional. Our server, Austin, made the night. He was friendly, attentive without hovering, and clearly takes pride in what he does. The cocktails were perfectly balanced, and his recommendations were spot-on. Overall, it’s one of those rare spots that feels both special and easy to settle into. Highly recommend stopping in for a drink or two.

Wow - was really impressed with my first visit to Royale Room! The salmon belly tartare was excellent, as was the huge 8oz burger. Steak frites was cooker perfectly and even the gem lettuce salad was great with a super tasty vinaigrette. Excited to get to try more of the menu on my next trip!

Great place with delicious food, drink and service. Definitely, recommend it!!! Martinis are so good and chicken tenders are soooo delicious and yummy!!!

The menu is pretty small, I had the steak frites and the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The steak was good and cooked well, but didn’t stand out. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail lived up to their jumbo name, but I didn’t particularly like either of the sauces it came with.

Came here for a small birthday tini&oysters happy hour on Wednesday. Overall, it was great! A range of attire and amazing music from a DJ that was at the exact noise level of poppin' but not too loud that I couldn't yap across the table. This place had some notable details that I want to highlight: - Valet is discounted - The espresso martini is cold brew based and going through the hotel entrance before dinner can snag you a free one at the front - There were different oyster types and they were both so good! It came with 4 different toppings and the tangy Asian one and the green herbaceous one were my favorite. At $2 a pop, it was a good happy hour choice to get some fancy vitamins and higher quality than some $1 grocery store picks. - I've seen another review talking about only one server for the whole restaurant. Although I agree that they were understaffed, our server Carter went ABOVE and BEYOND a normal server would. He would recommend different drinks based off what we liked, ensured a nice birthday treat, and also would let us know when there was a rush in case we wanted to place another order before we don't hear from him for a while. I didn't feel rushed and had a great time due to how well the service was. I would 100% come again if I had Carter assigned to my table. - Pretty much every martini was great, but only the house martini was the happy hour offering. Some are much stronger than others. I loved this place and hope to come back with even more people!

We tried the Royale Room for dinner tonight during happy hour & it was okay. The restaurant was kind of like a club due to the music blaring, I was not expecting that walking into it but it really was extremely loud. There weren't many tables (maybe 9) so be sure to get a reservation! There was a lot of bar seating, but it filled up quickly. The oysters, crab cake, chicken tenders & espresso martini were all really good! The only problem was that the restaurant only had 1 server for the whole place, so that server had about 9 tables at once. He was very friendly and apologetic, but he was simply over worked. We waited a long time to order, and even longer for our drinks and food to arrive. When our oysters came they forgot the crackers, and we waited on them for about 15 minutes - I noticed the table next to us also didn't get crackers with their oysters and they waited even longer than we did to ask for some, but ended up not even getting them because it took too long for someone to come and check on their table. This place would be a good stop to just grab a martini on a night out! But as for tonight's dinner - overall the food was good, but I wouldn't recommend unless you have ample time to eat with no where to be, & you don't mind the club volume music while you eat. Unfortunately those 2 things made for an unenjoyable dinner experience.

Amazing crab cake appetizer, seared perfect and no filler whatsoever. Very tasty lumps of crab meat. Awesome flavor. Then had the steak and frittes. Meat was warm to cool temps, but fries were screaming hot. So kind of confused since this was to be a high end steak served. Flavors were good on the steak but with service temp being what it was, it was lacking. Also, fry grease but very slightly since fires tasted very greasy. So that item was a bust. What I can say is that service was amazing, bartender Kathryn was on it. She made good drinks, always attentive to our needs and very friendly. Between the crab cake quality and Ms Kathryn's service - this place has the five star rating, main course meal was weak and not there.

The royale room is such a perfect place for a cocktail and especially during happy hour. The place is just So pretty and sophisticated. It is part of the hotel the Thompson. Great drinks, good vibes and happy hour! The service is quick and it was not packed which I appreciated. I was able to sit at the bar and people watch. Did I mention the open the oysters right there at the bar ? Well they do. The oyster bar areas is beyond.

The most exquisite espresso martini and steak frites. Chicken tenders are always a win too!

The drinks were delish and the service was very good. Loved our super friendly, nice server. The food was good but depended on what you ordered - I loved my salmon sandwich but my colleagues weren't so impressed.

The food, service, and ambiance of as amazing!! Chloe and Carter are some of the best servers I've ever had! Derek and Kat at the bar were very quick with my drinks. The manger Blake was super sweet and took care of everything. Definitely recommend coming here again!!
