"This favorite locals’ spot on the edge of the Lower Garden District is an equal-opportunity broadcaster of games. Cheered on by an impressive beer and cocktail program, the crowd at the Rusty Nail gets rowdy. Google
Amazing little place with great service and an amazing whiskey selection at the most reasonable prices!

Google
We recently hosted an after party for our wedding at the Rusty Nail and it was the perfect place for it. It's a great atmosphere and a cool space, the drinks were great, and all of our guests really enjoyed it. Ivan and his team were awesome to work with, super accommodating. All around great experience and I can definitely see this place being perfect just for a hang or with a group for drinks.

Google
Had a great time with friends, watched the Saints vs. Falcons game, environment was awesome, such a great vibe our server was amazing as well. We will definitely go back when in town. Definitely loved it!!!

Google
Great dive bar. Excellent selection.

Google
A very dive-bar atmosphere, but with charm. I really enjoyed my time here. The drinks were moderately priced and made with care and consideration. My friend requested a gin drink and the bartender asked her a bunch of questions about her taste preferences and made her a fantastic drink. They have an extremely extensive whiskey selection and have Whiskey Wednesday discounts on all the options. The bartender was super friendly too.

Google
Some of the best bourbons, whiskies and mixed drinks you can find at very reasonable prices!

Saint Apocryphal

Google
This is my new favorite dive bar. The service is great. They have a wide selection of whiskey's and bourbons for very reasonable prices. It is dark and even when crowded not too loud. They have no touch services from the restaurant next door and the food is better than average bar cuisine.

Google
We ordered drinks from the bar and they were great! Cool outdoor atmosphere, didn’t get food so not sure about that. Would go again!

Yelp
Absolutely love this spot. Chillaxed vibe. And the drinks are fantastic. The bartender Garo is a beast with it. He is in the zone and knows his way around a bar for sure. The drinks were chef's kiss. My cocktails were made just right and I enjoyed them both immensely. It's always an added bonus when the bartender knows what he's doing. No complaints from me. Do yourself a favor and check out this place. And I hope when you come you're fortunate enough to get Garo, you won't be sorry. A tad bit later I decided I wanted wings so I ordered the 6 piece buffalo wings. I got them fried hard but it was more naked wings with buffalo sauce and ranch on the side. It was just ok.

Yelp
Great beer, great atmosphere, great bourbon list, and amazing bartenders. I've been coming to the Nail for years, and it has always been a great place to hang out, especially for happy hour. The bartenders are super knowledgeable but not in a snobby way. They're very friendly and attentive, but also can tell you more about bourbon than just about any place I've been. That's especially cool considering the place is tucked away and looks like a random dive bar, not what you would expect from the outside. They have lots of good drink specials, and they make the best Dark And Stormy that you will find. They always have a good selection of beers on tap, and again, a great bourbon and whiskey collection. The biggest critique I've heard about the Rusty Nail is that the crowd changes after happy hour. It gets a lot busier and kind of loud as the evening progresses. Most people refer to that as being a bar, but if you're coming for a nice drink and conversation, just come earlier. Cheers!

Yelp
Simple and short review. Come here. The place was super chill, the bartender whose name eludes me at the moment, was very friendly. The drinks are good, and pricing is good as well. Did not order any food as there was an event at Sidecar the night I was here. Easily suggest stopping in.

Yelp
One of our new favorite places! Close to home and within walking distance between warehouse district, dt, & cbd neighborhoods. Their menu selection is amazing, with wide selection of ciders, beers, & bourbon, & pretty much any cocktail you can think of at also some pretty affordable prices. Turns out the food can be ordered through their neighboring venue, the Sidecar, which looks delicious and we cant wait to try it out...! Many youth and people were dining and having a great time which set the tone for the place :) We met a few of the bartenders, including Lee, who were really welcoming too. My boyfriend had some cognac and I had a coffee cocktail. Let me know what you think of it!

Brandon T.

Yelp
Nice little dive bar with a cool outdoor patio. Drinks were average price, and the location is cool.

Yelp
Came here to meet up some friends. Their food was spectacular and the live music was a bonus. We ordered wings, charbroiled oysters, and shrimp po boy. I recommend trying all of the above! The staff was fast and everyone there was friendly. Will come again when I come back to visit NOLA!
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
The Rusty Nail has one of the best whisky selections around, and some of the friendliest bartenders doing the pouring. This bar is a great place to watch games or hide inside from whatever is going on at the Side Car patio with which it is joined.
google avatar

Bacong F.

Yelp
Came here for the Chargers and Chiefs game. The place has great music for the none sports person. The po-boy was delicious. Good section of draft and can beers. Also, there are specials and signature disco lemonade.
google avatar

Ella A.

Yelp
Friendly staff and good specialty drinks. Added bonus of being able to have food delivered from next door (Sidecar, I recommend the shrimp poboy, upgrade with the side salad .... And the chargrilled oysters are also delicious). The Tito's martinis were a little funny tasting (maybe the olives?), I wouldn't order them again. However, their specialty happy hour mules (see the board above the bar and the attached pics) are good and a decent price. Dog friendly. Street parking.
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
Greta little spot! Clean and friendly. Love watching football games here!!!! I worry a smidge about the area it is in, but during the day and afternoon/evening, you will be fine as long as you pay attention to your surroundings. You can order food from the Sidecar Lounge next door!
google avatar

Vic L.

Yelp
Cool chill spot with good vibes. Best of both worlds, bar and food from Sidecar. I found this place when in town for a conference.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service by Jason and Ryan!! Had a blast even on a Sunday night, great ambiance and music, fantastic and cheap drinks.

Yelp
Trivia night 7:30 on a Tuesday! One thing I will say about trivia on Tuesdays, is that Sychar is not open. So I had to go to con butcher which is very close but less convenient than having it right on site for food. However, the drink orders are very reasonable for the Tuesday night Tuesday trivia night. The trivia night is pretty reasonable, probably a bit geared toward millennials versus other groups but still very reliable.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
We hosted a networking event here one night and everyone had a blast! The staff were so friendly and helpful and communicative in the planning days before our event and during it! Great cocktail menu and solid beer selection. And the food was excellent pub food (shrimp cocktail, fish dip, fries, wings, oysters).

Yelp
Rusty Nail FTW!! I was tasked with planning a work happy hour, and this place was clearly the best option in terms of space, service, and menu. My only complaint is that the hours on the website (and generally online) are wrong, which made me think they're closed Tuesdays when they're not. It's also a liiiittle far from the convention center (especially in the heat) which is where everyone was walking from, but we still had a great turnout. Because the entire venue wasn't available for private rentals, we arrived early and set up our pull-up banner on the left side of the bar when you first walk in and ordered catering from a local restaurant. Fantastic coordination overall by Danielle, Lee, Garon, and Chris. Cocktails were phenomenal, too. I had the Burro Mule, containing tequila, mezcal, and habeñero. Next time I'm in NOLA, I'd go out of my way to come back again!! P.S. They have a cute, colorful outdoor patio I'd love to check out more.

Leiza J.

Yelp
Great Happy Hour! Crowded but good time. The servers really paid great attention, as well as the bartenders .

Yelp
Great spot to watch the Saints game when In New Orleans. Love the indoor/outdoor vibes with the courtyard TVs and table service. Got complimentary shots as well as some really good oysters, calamari, and tacos served with waffle fries!!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood bar. Had a great burger. Great drinks. Friendly service. We also got to watch the Saints game with a few TVs in the area. The patio seemed popular too but we didn't sit out there.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
I first happened upon this place on my previous visit to NOLA. Closer to my convention center hotel, it's a bit secluded. There is a door on the corner and side facing a patio. There is a large deck attached as well, complete with decorative lighting. The bartenders are friendly and responsive. They have a good selection of beers and liquor to try.
google avatar

Yelp
While escaping an out-of-state work conference held in the Quarter, I discovered this gem. The service was excellent, as were the series of beer and shot specials. If you're in New Orleans and want a chill, neighborhood dive feel - this is your spot. (Oh, and while drinking there on a Saturday afternoon almost two weeks back, several bar patrons couldn't pin what actress the bartender resembled: Rachael Harris. It's taken two weeks, but I am certain of this.)

Bobby K.

Yelp
Jason was our bartender tonight and we had an amazing experience. Great drinks, great service. It was our first time here as we are from out of town and Jason was incredibly welcoming. On top of the friendliness he had an excellent knowledge of bourbon and we were able to get a drink that we hadn't had before, which turned out to be one of the greatest tasting bourbons we've ever tasted. The patio has a great atmosphere as well, 10/10 recommend going here. Thank you for the wonderful conversation and thank you Rusty Nail for the wonderful ambiance.

Beth S.

Yelp
Jason is the best. Amazing customer service. Get the oysters from Nextdoor. The CroLo Mule is the cocktail to get!!!

Renee P.

Yelp
We came into town for the Saints/Seahawks game , looked for a sports bar that was playing the MLB playoffs and the rusty nail has outdoor seating with a large screen with just that. The beer was cold the food was great and the fellow customers didn't mind us cheering on our team. Was a friendly and cool place to hang out . Highly recommend

Yelp
Perfect neighborhood bar, great people, real good vibe. RN has a excellent bourbon selection and prices their drinks right, a cool Nola option for the Warehouse district
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Very nice bar off the beaten track in the Warehouse District a few blocks from the convention center. Has a local vibe and not too touristy. Very much a neighborhood bar (that I wish was in MY neighborhood). Big beer selection, and the bartenders and craft decent cocktails. Lots of music the night I was there. I'll definitely return when I am back in NOLA
google avatar

Yelp
Shouts out to Jessie! He just changed my life with this Kentucky Mule! First off parking is a bit whack. But i must say i have enjoyed my time here very thoroughly! I love tbe fact that he knew whT i wNted before telling me. He was so understanding and definitely let us all know about the happy hour special, wine specials. Etc. He also posed for my pic that he made. Its an Kentucky Mule folks with whickey and it is Fantastic! I have not seen Food or anything so this is straight alcohol. Upstairs is apartments, condo spaces, offices, etc.

Yelp
I like this bar, mainly because I like all bars that serve Guinness. Recently we entertained friends from Lafayette and took them to a few places around town. The Rusty nail caters largely to a locals crowd. There's a few hotels near by and the smart visitor should venture in for a couple of cocktails. The bar is long with several bartenders running up and down its length pouring beers and mixing beverages. Someone is always quick to take your order. That's a big plus, even with a crowded bar. But the real jewel of this place is the patio. Several tables amongst lights, a large TV/TVs make this place a destination. The crowd is diverse and you may catch: A mixed group of people wearing festive hats Pretty ladies strutting their youthfulness Industry types discussing tomorrow's film shoot Sports fans clad in shades of purple and yellow or black and gold Familiar friends You name it, they all come, a crowd of many happy people. On this night a large amiable friend with four legs ambled in with his handler. At some point throughout the night, it seemed like every person went over to pet him(including our out of town guests). It was cold and the Nail had set up several outdoor heaters and the TV was playing the scheduled LSU game. We had a few cocktails, watched the game, laughed, petted large doggies, and laughed some more. Our friends really enjoyed themselves and said they will return. I will of course because I like hidden gems in the city. And as I left, I pressed a hurricane bot into the doorman's hand. He lit up and said "hey longtime no see friend, I have my other one on my shelf" It had been awhile, I gotta fix that. You certainly won't have to twist my arm.
google avatar

Ella S.

Yelp
Rusty nail is my favorite neighborhood dive bar. It's very affordable, they have a large selection of liquor so they can whip up just about any drink. The staff is always super friendly, makes you feel at home. They started doing a pizza pop up on Mondays called Only Pans (love the name ) the pizza is awesome! Perfect crust! On Tuesdays they do trivia on the patio and Daddy Hot Bird sells hot chicken from his truck outside! The hot chicken is addicting, it has become my new Tuesday ritual. They take social distancing seriously which is such a relief to me, I love that I can still feel safe while going out in public. I can't say enough good things about this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Yet another bar ruined by coronavirus. The Rusty Nail was always fine, it had a nice courtyard and decent beer on tap. They completely ruined the courtyard to turn it into a mini Wrong Iron catering to Houston transplants. Very few taps now. They also banned smoking and got rid of the slightly divey feel it had. They built some bullshit on the lot called "sidebar" that offers "porch specialties with a twist" whatever in the hell that is. It blocks the view it had previously. I used to go to the rusty nail every few months or so but I won't be back with the changes they made.
google avatar

Ellen V.

Yelp
This is THE neighborhood bar. We were staying in the Quarter but needed something more interesting and homey than Bourbon St. Great bar, ambiance, service, friendly and just the right amount of dive. During Covid, spaced out inside and lots of outdoor seating. A gem! No food, plan accordingly!
google avatar

Shiloh C.

Yelp
My story begins with a bunch of out state coworkers attending a convention in New Orleans drinking most nights on Bourbon Street. At some point we wanted a chill place to get a couple drinks that didn't cost crazy $$. This is that place. Nothing crazy but a full bar with good service, cheaper drinks, and a cool patio. The bartender was very attentive and gave our (walking) DD free coke refills. Wish I would have took more photos.
google avatar

LaToya E.

Yelp
Such an adorable space!! I happened upon this bar while looking for a place to have a drink and watch a game and am so glad we found it. At first we thought it was a very unassuming dive bar. Once glance outside and I knew better! We sat out enjoyed great drinks, great weather and a great game! I'll be sure to check this place out again next time im in town.
google avatar

Barry H.

Yelp
My kind of place: 1. Ice cold beers, only $3 2. Impressive selection of quality bourbons. 3. Good music (DJ) spinning real vinyl.
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Great establishment. It came recommended to us after dinner at Cochon (also fabulous). The Rusty Nail is not in the French Quarter, but well worth the short trek to the warehouse district. We went on Monday night, luckily, as the entertainment is selecting records from a crate (or bring your own) to play there. Makes for cool and unusual sounds. They have 16 taps, tons of bottles and make great cocktails. The outside patio is huge, lush with vegetation and tons of TVs. Pet friendly. The bartenders Andrew and Benjamin were super cool and fun. They do a "roll-a-day" for a dollar where if you roll a Yahtzee (five dice the same) you win the pot. Other rolls can earn a reroll. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a locals bar.
google avatar

Allen L.

Yelp
While the place has good space & a vast whiskey selection, I cannot say much more due to poor service. Walked up to the bar & stood there over 10 minutes patiently awaiting service. 3 bartenders ignored my presence & served 6-7 other people that walked up after me before I gave up & left. It wasn't that busy! Had higher hopes given other reviews, but they didn't want my group's business.
google avatar

Charles K.

Yelp
Great bar and environment. Would give 5 stars but the service was a little slow. It was st pattys day but it wasn't that crowded. The outside area is super nice and peaceful.
google avatar

Alanie N.

Yelp
I drinks were well made and the indoor outdoor area is really nice. It wasn't necessarily my favorite bar I've been to visiting New Orleans but it definitely is a good one! You're getting a totally different vibe than the bars on bourbon street which personally I preferred after days over in the French quarter. I would suggest this place for sure, especially if you're staying in downtown New Orleans!

Ray B.

Yelp
Went there to drink a few glasses of whiskey, Lee the bartender was very helpful in selecting a few nice ones to drink.

Yelp
I loved the Mules! Restrooms were clean and so was the bar in general. There's optional seating outside which is also a plus.

Yelp
Just visited the Rusty Nail for the first time after several suggestions from friends. I gave it 4 starts simply for the hassle of parking (and some prices of drinks), but other than that, this bar is stellar. They have a great selection of cocktails, drafts, and whiskeys to accompany the perfect drinking atmosphere: air conditioning, music, and friends. Though it was too hot and humid to sit outside, the outdoor space is great! I'd love to hang out there with a group of friends when the weather is nice. I had an old fashioned which was just fine, and my boyfriend had a pint of the Ghost in the Machine hazy double IPA by Parish Brewing Company (It was like $10...). Though I didn't stay long, it was enough for me to capture the essence of the Rusty Nail, I shall return.

Yelp
This is the first spot we hit when we arrived to NOLA for my birthday trip. The atmosphere was nice, just a bunch of people trying to get a drink and have a good time. Unfortunately we arrived on a rainy day and didn't get to enjoy the patio area, but we met some good people while enjoying some good cheap drinks. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. though he was super busy he made time to make sure I picked a beer I would be satisfied with. They don't have a restaurant or place to get food, however they had a whole bunch of menus to order from local places that delivered. I recommend coming here and having a great fairly priced drink!
google avatar

Yeashan R.

Yelp
Saints Sunday's here are great. I'm not a saints fan and I can't drink. But I still managed to have a great time here two Sunday's in a row. One of those weekends the saintsations were there with games and prizes. This isn't the kind of bar you go to and worry about fights. Or a bunch of moronic college kids. You can come and chill in the back or join in with the crowd at the bar. Either way you'll get a good view of the game!
google avatar

Will B.

Yelp
Great spot. Nice little hidden gem, away from the typical craziness of New Orleans, but full of its own brand of the same. If you don't make instant friends with most of the people there, you're living life wrong. Down to Earth spot, with great drinks, at reasonable prices, and some of the best atmosphere in the City. I can't say it was the best Old Fashioned I had the entire time I was in New Orleans, but the three I had here were some of the most enjoyable. I'll definitely be back my next trip down, and if I lived over this way, I'd be a regular.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Found this place before the Texas vs Georgia football game. It was packed. Unbelievable bar selection. Clean bathrooms
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
What a fun bar! I was meeting some colleagues here for a happy hour and it's way off the beaten path but in a good way. It's much bigger than you think and has not only generous and tasty drinks but very kind and helpful bartenders as well. I'd absolutely return.

Anna Z.

Yelp
Fair prices, nice inside patio and they also do trivia night that are real fun. Recommend
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Tucked away in the CBD between warehouses and apartment buildings sits a little oasis. Though I perceived this bar to specialize in cocktails like the rusty nail, this a neighborhood-after work-Alabama fan joint. Lots of locally crafted beers on tap and a large, lush courtyard with lots of seating and TVs.
google avatar

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Went here for an alumni party. Great little bar. They have a decent outside area with part of it covered. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are always cold. Parking is a little hard considering there's no true parking lot, just side street parking. We took an Uber here and I'm glad that we did. This place is also tucked away by itself. You would never know it was there unless you were in the neighborhood. I have to stress this... even while they were super busy, the staff was still very friendly! You can imagine how busy a place like this would be on a Friday night, yet the staff were still very pleasant. I'd go back just for that simple fact.
google avatar

Yelp
The Rusty Nail is a neighborhood bar located among a set of quiet streets, with a mix of residential housing and also some older warehouses. The first sign I saw of the bar's presence was a large Saints flag flying outside, and I knew I'd come to the right place. This place has a true neighborhood dive bar feel -- nothing fancy, just a place to have some beers and watch the game. There were even some stadium or bleacher-style seating with three levels set up against the wall so that patrons could sit and watch. The bar had several TVs and a larger pulldown screen and projector setup, with the screen even covering up the chalkboard specials menu. That's how you know a place is serious about football. Everyone loves their unpretentious local watering hole, and The Rusty Nail hits it right on the head. This isn't a date place, a fancy bar to bring clients, or a Bourbon Street tourist magnet. It's a place to grab a drink, chat with friends, establish yourself as a regular, and cheer on the home team. You can even bring your dog (and a few people did while I was there)! Get a Pop -- a shot of Old Grand-Dad and a Budweiser -- for cheap!
