I was so glad I finally got to try this place! Lots of healthy choices and ready made salads with endless varieties! I LOVE how cold they keep the salads because it makes them taste so fresh and good!! It’s a quick in and out deli and The ladies were so kind and welcoming and the food was SO good and I’m picky with deli food! I’ll be back to try their breakfasts and there sandwiches - such a gem that is tucked away, if you are looking for delicious and healthy homemade food this is the place! Here’s what I got (and EVERYTHING tasted so good and so healthy!) Green salad topped with cheese tortellini quinoa salad chicken salad and cucumber salad Tuna salad side and ended up going back for MORE chicken salad and cucumber salad for lunch the next day!

I’ve don’t ever remember saying in any other review “this is the best ____ I’ve ever had” before. Today is the first. This is a beautifully done small corner café. Locally owned. The menu is very complete and there are lots of healthy options as well as sandwich comfort food. They have 1 liter Mexican cokes in glass bottles in the cold case. The service, the food and the atmosphere are perfect. If you want a sandwich or a nice salad, don’t go anywhere else.

The neighborhood is so scary and dangerous that it made me scared to go pick up my DoorDash order. They forgot to notify me that my food was ready. I ordered a bagel with lox and home fries. The fries didn't look good, but they tasted okay. However, the lox didn't taste or smell good at all, so I decided not to eat it.

Best quality breakfast sandwiches on the block! They're well sized so you come out with a happy belly. My partner and I came here on a Sunday morning and were greeted by a friendly staff which is always a plus. We loved the sandwiches and will definitely be coming back! Pro tip: add onions and green peppers, and ask for chipotle mayo

Seriously good sandwiches! Ordered their avocado lovers sandwich through Uber Eats (they operate under the name Oscar’s Bagels and Breakfast Wraps), and it was exactly what I needed to cure my hangover! Perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and delicious bread. Iced coffee was also great.

This place is OUTSTANDING!! a perfect example of clean eating. The menus is composed of endless healthy hearty selections blended by American and Latin American culture. Salads, same,Tortas , all served with fresh made fruit juices, fresh fruit and of course Coffee .. latte or expresó anyone ?

Super pricey, practically no parking, sub par food. My bean salad was so saturated in balsamic that I could not finish it - and I LOVE balsamic! It was like a soup of balsamic with some beans in it. The bagel was good, but making a bagel and cream cheese doesn't require much skill. She did give me a free bit of pasta salad since the bean salad was tough to eat, which took this from 2 to 3 stars for me. The windows are very dirty which blocks a decent view. The place is very loud with conversation. There are newspapers sitting next to the front door with Excelsior crime plastered across the front page. Very small and crowded with unappealing décor. Their drink fridge was obviously missing a ton of stuff... To be fair, the staff was incredibly nice. It makes me feel bad leaving a negative review, but I seriously would not come back here.

The Salad Place is sooo good! Cute local place, walking distance from me. My favorite is their potato, egg, and cheese breakfast wrap. Lots of vegetarian options for me. Super friendly staff and they always put care and attention into the food. Free wifi here and I like the ambiance. I can come here and do work and get lunch. Good portions. Definitely something for everyone. Wraps, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, you'll never get bored of the menu. Support small business!

It's incredibly sad to me when places I'm looking at to get catering from have the most rude people answering the phones. I was referred to this place from a long time friend and I guess when I called the owner that they knew is not the owner anymore and I was met with somebody who just kept hanging up the phone on me making assumptions and providing the absolute worst service I've ever had. I'm here. I was ready to spend a few hundred dollars on catering. Whoever is picking up the phone is going to be the reason why this business does not last.

The food is very delicious, there are many things to choose from, the customer service is 10/10. I love it because the place is very quiet and you can eat to your heart's content.

The best. The service is like you stopped at your uncle's after a long journey and you walk in and are loved and cared for. They go so far out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is fantastic. The place is spotless, and the owners really care. Great food and the prices are so reasonable for what you get. I love this place.

This salad place is very delicous i recomend it hands down. The service is very friendly and helpfull. The ambiance is very chill cozy and relaxed . The street parking is a bit difficult but its worthy of finding a parking spot. The salad is fresh and healthy.

A homey, family owned lunch spot that serves fresh, delicious and healthy options. The family that owns this restaurant is adorable and eager to please. They provide exceptional service and a variety of feel good, well priced options. If you typically enjoy tuna salad, ceviche, and chicken tortilla soup, then you'll love the versions that The Salad Place serves. So fresh. So delicious. They're like the kind that your great grandmother (RIP) had been whippin up for decades. I'll for sure be back for another healthy lunch!

Stopped by this place for coffee and was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast bagel sandwiches were amazing and he can make it with whatever you please. I had egg, avocado, and cheese on Asiago and my husband had egg, bacon, cheese, veggies, with slight spice. We loved them both. Coffee was good with lots of variety. Best of all he was very nice and accommodating as we were just visiting from out of town. Highly recommended!

I am vegan and was looking for a salad place in San Francisco. There are hardly any! I found The Salad Place and was so happy to get my salad here. I am vegan, and the owner was so accommodating. He made me a large salad with greens, veggies, beans, avocado, olives and a balsamic dressing. Delicious! I will definitely be back.

Haven't tried their salads, but their sandwiches are delicious. Plenty of seating during lunch time and they have the food ready in a timely manner. Staff are all friendly and provide excellent service. Definitely recommend.

The Food is Delicious!!! Salads made to order!! Service is above average!!! The ambiance is cozy!!! My favorite is Shrimp Ceviche /Greek / & pasta salad combo & a bottle of water. They accept cash or card!! They also have great sandwiches as well Persia & Paris!!!! In the Excelsior!! Great beverages for a hot sunny Summer day!! The Staff are friendly and truly appreciate the customers

Everything was so delicious, fresh, and great portion size Pastrami sandwich - 5/5 hella good & fresh. The sauces on the sandwich brought it all together and it just made for a terrific sandwich House club panani - 5/5 yummy, crunchy, and buttery ciabatta bread. Every bit of this sandwich was delightful. They really know just the right amount to place each ingredient for the perfect bite Salad platter - 5/5 chicken salad was soooo good seasoned well bunch of celery and onions just delicous. The beat salad was simple but i loved it. Egg salad simple yet delicious as well . Pesto ravioli was good but ill probably try something different next time Fruit salad - 4/5 yummy , sour and sweet . Majority red & green grapes with strawberries and mangoes. I am excited to come back and try what else they have on their menu that meets the amazing quality from this first meal !

In the City, looking for a salad - found this spot in the Excelsior District! Although parking is not an easy feat, I can definitely see the charm of this neighborhood eatery. The owners greet you promptly as you enter, creating a warm invitation to a stand-out food case with lots of salad choices! The combination salad plate is the way to go (to share) with a choice of any four salads. And if it's a chilly San Francisco day...their choice of soup is 'icing on the cake' so to speak! Of our selections, the albacore salad was sumptuous and filling, but the tomato soup was the best find - thick, rich, lots of fragrant basil. If this small sampling is any indication of the tastiness of their sandwich menu items, I need to make another trip up here! BTW - McLaren Park is a mile away for a great picnic spot!

First timer! They have so many great salads to choose from. I chose the platter and each salad was so good!! I got the crab salad, pesto pasta salad, caprese salad and cucumber. they give so much!! And it all goes on top of a regular salad. Will def come back!

Adorable place in the heart of the excelsior! Small, cozy , hole in the wall. Great options for sandwiches and pastas and salads. They also have coffee ! The service is friendly and lovely. Some vegan options. The excelsior is an underrated neighborhood with hard working folks with small businesses. Support local businesses!

Salad Place is bright, tidy and a treasure. Feels like stepping through the back door into a friend's kitchen. Owners and regulars are from the neighborhood. You'll fit right in. Pay at the counter. Waiting for you on the side table are two big thermos flasks of freshly brewed coffee, Regular and Strong. Alongside are two flasks of fresh half and half and regular milk, creamer, sugar, nothing else. Old school basics. Customize your cup, just the way you like it. TV in the back is tuned to the local news -- good, kind local news about people like you and us. All this for one small coffee. And I have not yet tried the food yet!t

Family owned and very friendly always! I work in the area doing home health and I am gluten free (celiac disease). They offer gluten free bread here as well as educated on what is gluten free in their restaurant. I enjoy the turkey sandwich as they load it up with veggies and meat! I have enjoyed some fresh salads there as well! My last visit the owner told me to pay him next time as my CC accidentally fell out of my pocket (on my seat when I went back). That is a very kind gesture as I am always working so on a limited time frame! Highly recommend!

Such a good deal! $13 for salad platter with your choice of 4 under bed of lettuce. It's a lot of food for the price and the fresh carrot juice is delicious! Would definitely be coming back

Nice neighborhood sandwich shop that offers a long list of different sandwich options among other foods and fresh squeezed juices as well. I'm always greeted nicely by the man and woman that works there (I think the man may be the owner). They never fail to make my sandwiches just the way I like them. The shop is clean and they do practice social distancing and safety procedures. Usually, I'll order the turkey pesto along with freshly squeezed beet and carrot juice. This time, I wanted a turkey bacon sandwich. You can order off the menu or customize your own. The sandwiches are huge and hearty. Perfectly toasted bread and fresh ingredients. Come and support this local sandwich shop. You won't regret it.

Service and great price. May be one of the most reasonable cost places I've eaten at in a long time. Food is excellent and tasty. Ceviche was plentiful and great. Try this and you'll be impressed.

A great option if you need to order something quick and light for lunch! For $10-11, you get a tasty and filling sandwich. I got the avocado sandwich, which includes avocado, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jalapeno and pepperoncini. No bells and whistles, but still somehow better than any sandwich I could make for myself. Although the menu advertises a choice of bread, there is no option to choose your preferred bread on Doordash, and the sandwich is made with Dutch Crunch by default. I also wish there were more meatless sandwich options on the menu!

Wife and I came here fairly often b4 COVID as the food was good and affordable. Parking is always a problem though so it's a bit of a headache but a pleasant dine in experience with friendly service. You can also pick up and order by Grubhun and they have a lot more of that now. We had meatball and smoked Turkey sandwiches. $10 & $11 each) with side green ( $1.95) side and small chicken ($6.95) salad. The small chicken salad came in a small cup and was a little too small for $6.95. Tasty though nothing great. Meatball sandwich was quite good with melted provolone and a nice marinara sauce ($11). Smoked Turkey was a little light on the Turkey, but tasty on a toasted Dutch crunch roll. It seems to have lost about an ounce of Turkey since COVID. Prices for sandwiches have gone up about $2 per sandwich and same for the salads. We felt prices were generally reasonable though not the value it used to be. Exception: the small chicken salad was too expensive at $6.95. That said, we enjoyed the friendly counter service and the relaxed seating with a nice meal.

This place was so good for brunch kinda food! I can't speak for the pork belly sandwich and cobb salad, but I myself loved the lox bagel sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. The lox was PACKED with toppings: cucumbers, tomatoes, capers, onions, cream cheese, smoked salmon - it was actually bomb and stuffed! The soup too had a ton of flavor, so not dissapointed. Extra: Heard from my dad the pork belly was pretty good. The complaints from my mom's Cobb salad was the lack of tomatoes, avocadoes, and other toppings unfortunately. So, wouldn't reccomend that I guess, but the stuff I got was EXCELLENT and worth going back for it!

I was in the Excelsior for a volunteering gig and had time to grab something for takeout for lunch before going back to work. I looked at both Yelp and SF Eater and this place came up. I shared a salad platter (to go) with my wife and I got egg, tuna, chicken and beets on top. Good amount of food for two. The egg salad and tuna salads were awesome and I will be back for sure.

The salads are all excellent - special note to the freshly-made 3-bean salad, the shrimp ceviche, the chicken and tuna salads, and the quinoa. My sister and I like to split a four-salad plate and they're served on a bed of fresh greens and vegetables that's a 5th salad in its own right. Good fresh food. Sandwiches are also very good but the salads are why we come to the Salad Shop!

They toast their sandwiches. I got the corned beef with Dutch crunch. Food comes out fast. Salad looked really good too. It's nothing fancy but I like them a lot.

This was a charmer of a spot and an accidental find as I happened to be nearby at a flooring store and was looking for some lunch. Given so much choice, I went for the $12.95 Salad Platter that allowed me a scoop each from four salads. I ordered a couple of salads, including the garden salad, ceasar salad, along with the pasta and potato salad. I love adding pasta to my greens and this place did not disappoint. I thought everything was fresh and on point. Simple but packed with flavor. I will be back for another salad and to try other items on the menu.

I live a block from the Salad Place, but never tried it. I finally did so for lunch on a Saturday and I regret not going sooner. I placed my order at the counter, but realized I forgot my wallet at home. The man at the counter was super understanding and let me run back to grab it. By the time I got back - with my wallet! - he was already 1/2 way done prepping my meal. I was blown away by the amount of trust and great service. He had no idea if I was actually going to come back, but in the event that I did, he still wanted to make sure my food was ready. I saw him prepare the rest of the food while I was there. He piled on the ceviche. 3 HUGE scoops. He asked if I wanted feta for the Greek salad, which I declined. While I was paying, we made friendly banter and I noted that I was going to eat it here, but glad he put it in a to-go box because there was no way I was going to finish! He joked back "Really? No, this is just a snack!" Anyway, onto the food: Greens - I was expecting the bed of greens to just be romaine, but I was pleasantly surprised to find spinach and red cabbage, too. The greens are not tossed in dressing. Greek - this was my least favorite. It was pretty bland, not much flavor. It came with thick, half-moon cucumber slices, halved cherry tomatoes, and olives. It didn't seem to be marinated in anything. Pesto tortellini - SO good! The tortellini is stuffed with cheese and coated in a mild pesto. Kale salad - Shredded kale and carrot tossed in a super zesty, tangy dressing. I really enjoyed this! Ceviche - Shrimp marinated in lime, red onion, and tomato, topped with cilantro. My favorite salad. The shrimp was tender and fresh. The lime and cilantro gave it a bright flavor. I ended up eating most of the greens, some salad for lunch. I still had about 1/2 of the salads left for dinner, so I threw some of my own greens in and made 2 meals out of it. I'll definitely be coming back to try the other salads!

This was my first time here. I had ordered the salad platter which includes a house salad and 4 choices of other salads. I went with the kale, chicken salad, Thai, and I believe it was tortilini. I also ordered the chicken panini. It was delicious. It was big enough to feed me and my husband. I would definitely be coming back here again. Great portions for the price.

Oscar and his family and staff make by far the most Amazing sandwiches and fruit drinks. There sandwiches and juices are fresh and nutritional.

A hidden gem in the Excelsior. I found this place six months ago which unfortunately was right before I moved out of SF. If I had found it earlier I would have definitely been a regular. There are so many choices of salads and sandwiches that it can seem overwhelming. However, you probably can't make a wrong choice because everything I have tried has been tasty, healthy and fresh. My first order ever was done online but once I got there my order was never received. Luckily it was not busy and the owner was nice and made my order quickly. She also suggested that I call instead of going online next time, so don't order online. My favorites include the Thai salad and veggie delight sandwich which is huge!

Pricey but you get a big sandwich for what you're paying for. The staff is very friendly. They have boxed chai but I'm not opposed it was still delicious in my opinion

This is a great restaurant with kind people and delicious food. I was pleasantly surprised to know that they serve breakfast all day! Sometimes I'm in the mood for a breakfast sandwich at 1pm, and I was able to get it. An everything bagel with an egg scrambled with bell peppers and onions, topped with cheese. It was absolutely delicious. My friend got fresh squeezed orange juice and thanks to her and the man who made it, I ended up getting a glass too. It was a great decision.

I found this little place on Yelp today and was eager to try it. Unfortunately this place has somehow crossed over to being a Whole foods market, because of their absurd prices. In all honesty if I knew I was going to pay $26 for salad I would've not even bothered eating here. What's worse is that it's not even organic for crying out loud. I know it's expensive to dine in SF, but really your going to charge almost $4 for a lousy cup of cucumbers and tomatoes? My small garden salad, which was hardly enough was 4.95 and a side of cucumbers and tomatoes with (canned) black olives was an additional $3.25 totaling $8.20 for 1 measly salad. My husband also ordered a salad platter, which had meatballs on it for $10.95 and part of his salad came with fruit, but seriously it wasn't even a cup it was barely 1/2 of a cup and we definitely felt ripped off. The 1 thing that I truly can not stand is eating at a place that doesn't serve you decent portions. Come on! It's just freaking salad! Will it really "hurt" your business if you actually decide to give your customers a decent amount of food to match your ridiculous prices? I think not. So our total bill for 1 very small garden salad, 1 salad with 4 tiny meatballs + 1 oz of fruit and smoothie came to $26 and cents. The food here is just okay it's nothing special and my suggestion to anyone wanting to eat healthy is to just go to Whole foods instead where you know your use to paying $$$$. In a nutshell I don't like eating at stingy places, therefore this place is an absolute NO for me. NOTE: Also if you are going to eat here be forewarned that you'll be driving around in circles for about 10-15 minutes trying to find parking and it'll cost you about $2.50 for 20 minutes. Not worth it!

Hidden gem ... Off the beaten path! I am this semi competitve food regimen ... The have nutrient dense items like Kale. Spinach. Tomato. Broccoli Very fresh veggie ... I see no lemish The 29 Sunset or Mission bus brings u out here. Parking on Mission St can sometimes fustrating. Kale was not bitter and was tender in a nice dressing that the vinegar was nice and light. The broccoli was dressed in buttermilk dressing

Pass this place all the time but never got the chance to try it until today. Its a local place in my neighborhood that sells salads, sandwiches, pastry, hot and cold drinks. Decided to dine in since there's tables. Had the meatball sandwich for 7.95 without tax. Decent price for this sandwich since this sandwich was quite big. Its a hot kind of sandwich. Good among of vegetables and meatball. The sauce in this sandwich made it tasty and they add good among too that doesnt make it overpowering to the meatball sandwich. The bread had that crispy texture after it had been grill. In the end i did enjoy the sandwich. The workers are friendly and made the sandwich in good among of time. They have a sign that they have free wifi here but i didnt use it during my dining here

Finally got in there after a few weeks of eyeing it!! Owners are super nice! Had a breakfast bagel and bear claw!! Was delicious and prices are great!! Darling, cute place!! Can't wait to return!!
