The Salty Monk

I can't comment on the rooms as I've only eaten in the restaurant. They've got their mojo back! Last time I ate here the food was good but not exceptional. This time was back to their usual very high standard. Great food, great wine, great service.

We visited in October for my birthday and enjoyed the experience so much that we visited again to stay in Wisteria with our dog in November. Our whole stay was nothing short of exceptional. Andy, Annette and Adam made sure that we wanted for nothing. There were so many thoughtful touches in the room. The food is just incredible. A little piece of heaven in Sidmouth!

My husband and I stayed here for the evening and it was fabulous. Lovely, comfortable, clean and well equipped rooms - ours was a suite with a separate living room and jacuzzi bath. Fantastic dinner with brilliant service and delicious vegetarian food. Great local wines. The quiet night and a tasty breakfast was just what we needed to get us back on the road. We shall definitely return here whenever we are in the area.

My wife took me here for my birthday last weekend and we weren’t at all disappointed. We had the four course menu for dinner which we both really enjoyed. The waiter was relaxed and attentive. I would have welcomed some light background music, but given overall attention to detail that’s okay. The room was very nice and breakfast was on point.

Absolutely fantastic experience. My wife and I had the 8 course chef's tasting menu and we're blown away. Fresh local produce, and Andy and Annette were superb hosts. We've already booked our next visit

An outstanding evening spent here, the four course menu couldn’t be faulted. Kicking off with a delicious mini soup to whet the appetite, followed by a varied, interesting and most delicious ‘small plates’ course, followed by the star of the show medallion of beef, the sauce was outstanding, the tortellini unique and such a creative and refreshing change to fries. ||We topped this off with cheese and biscuits and the ginger & apricot sponge, both delicious. |What was such a bonus is that we only had to go up a few stairs for a night in the comfiest bed ever. ||The Salty Monk is excellent in every way and the owners are also 5 star.

Just stayed at The Salty Mink for our double birthday celebration.|Well worth the journey down.|The Iris suite was one of the best I've stayed in. Spacious and comfortable.|Had a couple of the breakfasts and really enjoyed them. The cook was certainly top notch.| Partook in an afternoon tea and the sandwiches,scones, and cakes were a memorable birthday treat.|Absolutely love The Salty Monk and will return again. |Ideally located for Seaton and Sidmouth.

Fantastic meal at the Salty Monk. The food was amazing and the drinks were also great. Real hidden gem, if you are looking for a special meal and a peaceful venue give this a go!
