Food was actually really good. The tea combinations are what they are about. They have a music jam Wednesday nights, as our of there entertainment options, and there's like other stores embedded in this one, it's like a mini market. It's an experience depending on the time of day or night you go. It's more like $5 -$15, I did there Cafe drinks and desserts / pasteries

Google
Nice small business dive bar with lower price drinks (compared to other bars), table games going, and live DJ. Can get a bit tight fast but there is also space out front to drink and sit.

Google
Fun place, multiple DJ's were spinning when we visited.

Google
Best beer selection in NYC! Beer to-go, or to-stay that pairs perfectly with a delicious, creative rotating food menu. Plus game changing customer service from a highly knowledgeable staff! Awesome curated music, art, and vibes that create an amazing experience for everyone.

Luke Boucher

Google
Great bar, had a couple of beers and a vegan sub. Good atmosphere and music too.

Sampler is my favorite Puerto Rican spot to go to late night. The DJ’s are always great. They play a wide variety of music that’ll keep you dancing all night. People typically start coming in after 10pm. The crowd tends to be mixed ages. The drinks are reasonably priced and strong. The service is quick and you won’t be waiting at the bar too long even with a crowd.

Google
The Sampler is amazing! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the vibes are relaxed and the draft selection is incredible! The Sampler is worth a visit.

This place blast music with bass consistently during workdays even AFTER 3am. Local residents file complain to the city as they didn't follow NYC noise code for bars. We love our neighborhood, but PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL TO LOCAL COMMUNITY

Yelp
Used to love this place, now I avoid it because why bother. When it opened, they had 10+ rotating taps and two refrigerators full of cans. Plus provocative works from local artists and nostalgic music. The pandemic hit them hard. The fridges are gone and the taps have dried up. They have a few IPAs on draught, but nothing to get excited about. No one ever hangs out inside anymore and the vibe is dead. The manager reached out to me once on social media, imploring me to come back and see that my reports of its demise were greatly exaggerated. I am sorry to say that I did come back and it was embarrassingly bad.

Yelp
Great beer selection. Tends to have mainly hip hop music and it's usually not very full because my theory is the lighting is horrible! It's harsh and bright and the decor (or construction) is metallic sheets and it bounces the light off even more. It just doesn't feel welcoming, fun nor comfortable at times. The lighting and music tbh seem really at odds with what they're trying to accomplish by allowing people to "sample" all types of beer. I don't really equate hip hop music lovers with IPAs and stouts. Mainly saying this because it's right next to Santa Salsa which is always packed because it's fun music, even if you don't speak Spanish. I always walk by with friends, but no one wants to go in because it doesn't feel like a good vibe. Like if you want a beer hall, we should be able to have a conversation. If it's a hip hop hole then turn down the damn lights so people can't grind in peace.

Yelp
Drinks hit everytime. 420 friendly Just watch your toes while standing outside. Bushwick rats no joke!

Yelp
Good service and drinks + they have food on Tuesday now which are banging . The ambiance is amazing feels like you are at a bar / gallery

EJ S.

Yelp
Dolo took care of us Friday night, great times! This is my favorite new bar hands down! As a born and raised New Yorker the amount of hip-hop and nostalgic vibes was incredible! People rapping to 90's verses, DJ's spinning vinyl, food is dope too. Definitely recommend the brussel sprouts and fries. I will definitely be back w a crew!

Yelp
Another great bar in the neighborhood!! They play a variety of really fun music, have great beer options, and are really moderately priced. We went on 5/31/2021 and they were very relaxed about masks, and not checking if anyone was vaccinated, but we felt overall safe (we were all vaxxed) and the bartender was wearing a mask the whole time. This is a really fun bar if you want to stop in for a few drinks with friends or a group!

Peter M.

Yelp
I don't have many pictures because I'm always having so much fun here. Just trust that the food is bomb as are the drinks. The music is always good. The bartenders are the friendliest people on planet earth. If you're in the neighborhood, there's no reason to go anywhere else. That's the honest truth.

Julie T.

Yelp
Plenty of variety. Tacos look tiny but getting two is very satisfying. The staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I tried their strawberry cider - it's tart and punches you with strawberry. Love this place.

Yelp
Came here with a page out of the Brooklyn Pub Pass. The Sampler has a fridge stocked full of craft beer bottles and cans and a bar with rotating craft taps. They also have a limited food menu that seems to change every day. We came here tonight when they were serving Dominican food. We got here around 7 while the place was still relatively empty. There's lots of art on the walls and even t-shirts for sale. They seem to heavily support the local art community. To eat, my friend went with the Chimi Burger and I went with the El Dominicano. The El Dominicano was delicious and served with Pernil and Sausage. The Chimi Burger was served on two tostones instead of buns. Both came out fresh and hot and were delicious! To drink, we went with the Harlem Sugarhill Blonde Ale and the Artisanal Fulton Amber Ale. The Harlem Sugarhill was good especially paired with the food. The Artisanal Ale had a sweet yummy taste to it. I also got to sample the Gunhill Gose which was a sour beer with the after taste of peanut butter and jelly. It was strangely good! The bartenders were very attentive and happy to answer our questions. I would definitely come back to sample the different taps and chefs!

Yelp
**Review Update To Business Owner: Leo, we won't agree on this and you've forever lost my support further solidified by your response. But I do wish you some perspective in your future encounters. I can see you're trying to emphasize that the food we were eating was not purchased from your business as the reason you felt it was fine to manage our visit like you would a staff member. The only reason we took the only table open in the area was bc your neighboring bar told us all the patios were shared. We patronized the whole block and respected your bar enough to comply to the request to purchase before sitting. Instead of allowing us to finish enjoying our rare night out, your ego decided to interrupt & remind us that we're seen as people who wouldn't clean after themselves even by someone like yourself. We weren't served at the table so we didnt expect to be cleaned after either. I hope you can recall that I was speaking quietly to you until you defensively asked me to leave for questioning you. It was my mistake to continue trying to help you understand how you made us feel as I lost my ability to talk to you sensibly. Leo, you are very obviously of Afro-Latino origin. Unfortunately, that doesn't at all exempt you from profiling your own people. If you interpret negative feedback as a cry wolf without an attempt to amend the situation and admit where you went wrong then your business is destined to fail. I've removed sensitive verbiage from my original review out of respect for you but my sentiments remain.

Yelp
It's small, filled with art, and home to various beers that someone with any taste can enjoy. They have beer specials for certain brews for around $5. They take cards. They have a decent selection on draft, but an even bigger selection of cans in the front. Take something to go too. They dont serve food, but will soon. They allow you to bring whatever you wanna eat inside. Spotless bathrooms too.

Yelp
I am honestly not sure how to review The Sampler. I absolutely love the concept - a bar where you could discover unusual and local craft beers, either on-tap or by purchasing a can or bottle. Essentially, it was a bar-beer shop hybrid. The bartenders were really patient, allowing us to have a sip of a draft and detailing the flavors of some other beers for purchase. After some deliberation, I settled on Off Color Brewing's Dinosmores. The bottle was about $7, which was not terrible, but then we found out that there was a fee for opening it! This was surely something that could have been mentioned to us before we had decided to pass over the tap list! In the end, it wound up adding about $3 to my cost, which was annoying. Plus, this recommended beer was terrible! It was sweet, heavy, and had a medicinal, syrupy flavor to it. There was also no head when I poured it into my glass, making me wonder if it was expired. Since they had only been open for a month, I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that part, but it was still a terrible beer, of which I was only able to drink half. I had enjoyed other varieties from this brewery in the past, so this had been disappointing. Overall, I would return to The Sampler, but would only stick to the tap beers to avoid the added fees and potentially foul beers.

Yelp
Come here for beer. -If you are a lover of beer. -If you are looking for the latest yummy local flavors. -If you just want to stop and get a glass of something delicious on the way home -If you've had a long, long work day This is the place for locals. But can also be the place for those looking to taste what's new. I love crafty beers. I am especially a fan of the IPA's. I used to hate IPA but now consider them the Gin of beers. Some people hate Gin but there are so many complex flavors and there's an herbaceous taste that I find very appealing. I am one of those Gin Martini peeps. Back to beer....IPA's also have those complex layers. And IPA are a plenty at The Sampler. There are some pricey IPA's but here's where sizing is helpful. Some beers you can sample as a 6 oz or commit to a 10 oz. I was in luck the other night and it was happy hour. I was able to get a 10oz beer for the price of a 6 oz. Awe yeah! You heard me right. Happy hour and it was ALL NIGHT! The local breweries are Other Half, Sixpoint and Singlecut to name a few. There's also some new breweries to me, Two Roads from Connecticut and Finback and Bridge and Tunnel from Queens. It felt like an educational drinking experience. The Other Half - Kerstperiode" 10% was my favorite. I still need to do some more research I think. It was difficult to tear me away but at the same time we aren't talking about PBR. These beers are S-T-R-O-N-G! The beauty too is that if the taps wasn't enough you also have clear glass door fridges full of even more beers to pick from. You can also take growlers home of your favorite beers. And the snacks here range from grilled cheese, olives and chips. I want to check out the Monday trivia. Even though I think someone put a curse on my trivia game and ever since, then I have not been very good. I'm hoping that curse will be lifted soon. And maybe The Sampler will be the place. And I love the current beer art show and there is another art show coming soon. I'm a sucker for beer and art. So count me in.

Yelp
Definitely excited I walked Into this place! Pretty grungy if you're not Used to it but don't let the looks deceive you. Great place to be, this was my first time there having drinks and loved all of them!

Manny B.

Yelp
Great beer and good convo with approachable beer geeks. In the cut but it's a good spot to check out.

Tanya G.

Yelp
This has become one of my local hangs. They usually have some type of live music and/or performance going on starting on Thursday nights into the weekend. There is a nice outdoor area where you can smoke freely. The food here is also pretty sick! Yuca fries are A1. The best thing about this place though is that its owned by a local Bushwick head. They always have craft beers in the fridge you can pick from but they also do craft drafts. And for me there is always a cider on draft. 10 out of 10 recommend!!

Tasha Ogosha F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere drinks and food. Stopped thru one night b4 my BDay! No complaints everyone was dancing and having a good time.

Ramon M.

Yelp
The beer selections are truly extraordinary, really good vibe and music , bartenders are the best in this spot

Yelp
The Sampler is one of the best Bars I've been to in Brooklyn and I was raised here. The atmosphere and the decor are awesome. The service is quick and accommodating. There's a great variety of music, beer, and people. Leo the owner is always welcoming and attentive. He shows how much he really cares about his customers. Have amazing delivery service too! You have to try their Brunch! Amazing guest chefs. Ask for the Beermosa!

Emily R.

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim before visiting Transmitter Park. Interior is cool, maybe a little "much" with the graffiti and such but I didn't mind. The place had local art for sale. The bartender was super friendly and chatted with us a bit. Beer selection was decent and they had some stuff from out of state on tap. My husband ordered the beer and a shot deal but misunderstood that you don't get to pick the beer that you have the shot with, so he over-ordered. I think that signage could be a little more clear since there is basically just a picture on it.

Nairobi C.

Yelp
This is honestly the BEST BAR IN BUSHWICK. The Decor alone could do it for me. They have a bunch of awesome events every night and they have some days when they do brunch it's DELICIOUS the staff was great! They answered all my questions and made sure I was taken care of the whole night. Even when there was a full house. This place gets packed quick most nights so come early! The DJ is it's always a good time when I come here ! The beer here is awesome they have all kinds of Draft beers too that's the main focus of the bar. Draft beer

Joe C.

Yelp
The Sampler is pretty intimidating from the street -- you can hear heavy metal playing inside, and the regulars are tough-looking Punks. I'm so glad we went in anyway. The music was good, the crowd was nice and the bartender was super friendly. The wall decorations are all local art for sale, which creates a really unique atmosphere. The beer list is excellent and well priced.

Jackie V.

Yelp
It's a great place. Staff is friendly and informative! I was going to a concert and I wanted to try anything around the neighborhood. I came across this establishment and it was such an amazing place.

Jerome W.

Yelp
This is one of the best beer bar in NYC. The owner Noel is super cool and will let you taste a beer before you buy. He goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Also they have spirits and make great cocktails. They have a few fridges with a wide selection of beer. The one plus about this place is that they have a great decor.

Brandice T.

Yelp
This A rated bar not only has a stellar beer selection but the staff is chill AF! They showcase amazing art and have different events throughout the week. Definitely stop by and sample some of NYC and NY States finest crafts beers. If you're looking for a road soda they also have a well stocked retail section in the front of the bar. If you're artsy be sure to tag their black book or leave your mark in the John. I've been here several times and every time I'm blown away by the service and selection.

Eric W.

Yelp
The only place I like to drink beer more than The Sampler is on my own couch at home watching YouTube Videos about super massive black holes. I love beer and I love this place. The choose your own adventure fridge as I like to describe it is stocked with dozens of beers you've never had before. It's a thing of beauty. They also have a nice selection on tap but by the time I realize they have beers on tap I'm already bombed from the cans. The staff is mad knowledgeable about the brewskis and they are quick to hook you up with a fresh glass according to the type of beer you're drinking. Deadass all jokes aside, The Sampler is my favorite place in the world. Real NY heads will appreciate this spot.

Joseph T.

Yelp
Fantastic beer selection. Everything was craft. I barely recognized any of the beers on tap, so I assume many of them were brewed in macro or nano quantities. I couldn't find a bunch of the beers on websites like Untappd or Beer Advocate which supports my hunch that the beers were brewed in small batches. The beer styles available tended to be more trendy; they had sours, barrel aged ales, an IPL, and twists on several Belgian styles. I shared a flight with my girlfriend for $13. If you like breweries like Big aLICe, then I think you'll like The Sampler.

Misha T.

Yelp
Solid beer bar with a good happy hour where before 7pm you can get the larger size of a beer for the spice of a smaller size of that same beer (assuming the beer has two sizes as not all do). The selection is good and I got to do a good mix between reading my book and talking to strangers which I think is the perfect happy hour vibe.

Robert B.

Yelp
Love the vibe here. The fact that they have so much cool art, the music, the people, the service. Its hard not to enjoy yourself here. Crowd is often light, which makes it even more pleasant. Only knocking it down a star because prices seem excessively high for me, even by elite beer bar standards. Perhaps that's why crowds here are light. Reduce pricing maybe 20% and this gets my unequivocal recommendation. Without that and I'd say only go for a beer or two otherwise you'll bust your budget.

Al L.

Yelp
Great place for hang out and try out some new beer. For $9 you can get a flight of four beers. They have 20 on tap at any given time. If you can't decide the bar tender will create a flight for you. You can bring food in, and they're always playing the knicks games on saturday nights. Chill people, and good fun.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
They have authentic Belizean food on Sundays and Thursdays...really tasty . #2BelizeGirls

Robert J.

Yelp
This affluent Brooklyn craft beer and art shop is one of the many beautiful signs that the Bushwick identity is not fading in current trends. Joel is super knowledgeable about the beers they offer and very friendly. As a vendor, going to check on a merchant and looking forward to the trip is quite a pleasant experience.

Gemma C.

Yelp
This is a great little place. We came for the whiskey and we're not disappointed! Lots to choose from. Bartender was super-friendly and helpful and the place had an nice vibe. Good beer section for those so inclined! So happy to have this place in the 'hood

David S.

Yelp
Cool place to hang out, check out some art, listen to some music and have a few craft beers

De R.

Yelp
Cute little diamond in the rough bar., with lots of local competition....We visited on Sunday afternoon, & were surprised that it was not busy...great choices from all over....really enjoyed the Duggesx Stillwater Imperial...Breweries are more our speed...but there are good selections here...worth a look...

Nicole M.

Yelp
Fun place. Came here to support some friends in an art event being held at this establishment. They have a lot of different beers.

Joseph R.

Yelp
The beertopia. There's so much going on here it's not even funny. From monthly art shows from a bevy of Brooklyn artists to events to a pretty eclectic cut of brews it's hard not to go wrong here. They even have beer to go here and the fridge is full stick with some classic and some obscure ish. I give it a 5 for the selection, the ambience, the events, and all around experience it offers up. Difficult to go wrong here...

Eric B.

Yelp
Great local taproom. Friendly, helpful bartender. I had a couple IPA's and a couple stouts by way of flight. Wasn't big on the New Zealand hopped ale, but the stouts were both terrific.

David A.

Yelp
Came back after the reopening and want to give this place a fresh start in my eyes. Beer selection was good, slight layout changes are positive and staff was super attentive and friendly. Looking forward to this being a go to place again

Tysean B.

Yelp
They always have a good selection of beer on tap and in the fridge. They also promote local artists whose often amazing pieces you can find hanging on the wall! When I visit in the evening on Thursdays and Sundays, I can't help but get some Belizean food by 2 Belize Girls to go with my beer (I highly recommend their salbutes)!

Derrick D.

Yelp
The sampler has been remade beautifully. The cans and bottles are unique and some you can only get at the sampler. Small bites are delicious, the staff is knowledgeable and generous. The beers on tap are the standout. Wonderful selection. The art and ambience is relaxing and inspiring. A Neighborhood standout.

Mark N.

Yelp
Great beer selection & tasty empanadas (chicken with carrots & potatoes will be remembered) but the friendly service stole the show.

I S.

Yelp
First of all the man behind the bar provided me and my friends with excellent service, explained the origin of the different beers and as well as taste, samples before we bought them and just gave us an amazing experience! Loved the different drafts they had, had different art work for those who are into such things, smaller bar but wasn't crowded when we went there. Would definitely recommend checking this spot out. Drinks 5/5 Staff 5/5 Prices 5/5

Matt T.

Yelp
So pumped thus place has re-opened!!! The beer selection is fantastic, prices are good, and the vibe is very cool and unpretentious. The new owners have a sincere love of beer and local NYC culture. They've had a whole bunch of graf legends to paint murals in the space, and have monthly changing art as well. Everyone behind and in front of the bar is super down-to-earth, and I have to say this is my new favorite Bushwick bar, for real!!!

Silk D.

Yelp
Website says it's suppose to be open. Sign on the door says it's suppose to be open. So why are you closed. Disappointed that o drove all this way only to leave without having a flight.

Leala R.

Yelp
Really great beer bar in Bushwick. My husband and I came in from out of town to sample some local beers. The beertender was super friendly and helpful. I had beer indecision as I often get. He made a suggestion or two to me and they were spot on! I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

Jen U.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The epitome of a chill spot where I can drink GREAT beer. I love how inclusive it is to all the cultures in the neighborhood .

ReviewHaiku F.

Yelp
Cute date spot with a Curated whiskey and beer selection. Now kiss

Roman P.

Yelp
Small place with an excellent and esoteric selection of bottles, with some at surprisingly reasonable prices. Bar is also reasonably priced, but the growlers are a bit too expensive. Selection is superb for New York and unparalleled for the area. The people who work there are all really nice. People walking in will always get free samples of beer. Sometimes in the middle of drinking a beer, Rafael will pop out of nowhere with a small sample of beer. They also got a bunch of snacks available like beef jerky, chips, and cheese and meat dishes, but these can get a little expensive (especially the ten dollar bags of jerky, but it is jerked in Brooklyn). Coffee shop-like art is on the walls, including a bunch of paintings by one of the employees. They constantly get new bottles and new kegs, including some really rare stuff and nano-level micro stuff. For the Manhattan crowd this is going to be a trek, but this place is a very welcome addition to Bushwick and improves my quality of life dramatically. If you like beer, you should come here. If you don't like beer, maybe you will find one that you do like. If you don't drink, then come for the cartons of water and locally roasted corn nuts.
