I was really excited to discover this place as it's very hidden away. They have a cute outdoor patio but that's the highlights. I unfortunately found the food very underwhelming. I was only there for lunch but their salad with salmon had canned salmon on it. Not what expected. The same on the salmon sandwich. We had expected fresh salmon for the prices and based on the description. I would go back for a quiet patio lunch but not for the food.

Google
The food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I took our three month old baby there for breakfast one morning and everything was delicious! Especially the coffee! The place is very well designed with high-end tables and chairs and decorations. The overall feel of the building on the inside and out is well thought of plan and placed well Our only complaint was our waitress. She seemed like she could give a rip about anything. When asking some simple questions about the items on the menu she practically rolled her eyes to go ask the chef some questions. When we were finished with our meal, she came back with the check and we asked her if we could have another coffee, and I swear that I was either pulling her teeth or torturing her by asking for another coffee. She kind of grunted and slowly walked back to get what we had asked for. Our whole overall experience would have been awesome if it was not for the service. I highly recommend finding new help. Also, there were only six customers total in the entire place (including my wife, and I ) when we were there. She was not being overworked or overwhelmed…. she literally hated every moment of being there from what we could tell.

Google
Nice place to have brunch. Affordable prices and good portions of food. Ingredients are fresh and coffee tastes delicious too. We had Club Sandwich and Salmon Salad Sandwich. Both tasted so good. Lemonade, in the other hand, was actually a bit too sour. Good vibes and I love the interior. Staff are so friendly too. They open only till 2pm or 3pm. So check the time before you go. There is a big parking lot and many super fast chargers for electric cars. Overall, everything was nice. We will definitely come back again.

Google
True hidden gem buried deep in an office park off kajillionaire row aka Sand Hill Road. As the saying goes, follow the money...errr, in this case, follow it AND where it eats. What a tasty, pleasant surprise...this small cafe punches way above its weight. Burgers, sandwiches, pastries, salads, coffee...and maybe the best fries in all of the Peninsula (is that possible?!). Everything is delicious but special shout out for the homemade pimento cheese & saltines appetizer which you just don't find around these parts and done right. Highly recommend, but keep in mind it's only open weekdays for breakfast & lunch as it primarily serves the area workers & business park tenants.

Google
I’ve come several times for lunch, the food is always great - flavorful and seasonal. I booked a private dinner, and was blown away at the menu, service, creative flavors and atmosphere. One of the best dinners I have had in a decade, 10/10!

Google
The food here is so fresh and delicious. Yummy Thai salad; veggie sandwich and the burger were all great. Their fries are amazing- rough cut and seasoned to perfection. The staff is really friendly. And eating outdoors in a lovely setting just makes this place over the top. Can’t wait to be back.

Google
The setting balances both cozy and modern. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend adding some of their fries to your order, they are exceptional.

Relaxed ambience with lot of seating indoor and outdoor ! Loved the food with kambucha drinks. We had the salmon salad sandwich and the chicken paillard which were really good

Yelp
Went here for a team lunch. Service was good. Decor is rustic and gorgeous especially this time of year. The acoustics are a bit loud for chatting. Food was good. The fries are amazing - best thing on the plate!!! Like a huge baked potato fry Chicken club was ok. Chicken was really bland which made the sandwich boring. The bacon was good but didn't stand out against the chicken. Bread was a nice soft roll. If I go back, will probably opt for a salad.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan. Sandhill Kitchen is a true gem. It's such a perfect oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown PA and the commute life! I love the peace and quiet of their space, the combination of sun and shade / outdoor and indoor seating, the healthy and equally tasty menu. I love their use of ingredients and volume. I have yet to try a dish I didn't like. This week, the special was a delicious Dungeness Crab Sando with a side of chips or fries. I've also had the fried chicken as a salad add-on which was a brilliant choice! And their gigantic Tahini Miso Cookie came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I love the ambiance inside as well, and it was super cozy when I last came in the fall. Can't wait to come back! The bathroom is also clean and welcoming. Overall a great place for a casual lunch with your friends, coworkers, parents (the bathroom litmus test passes!), or self. I also noticed that they can seat a big group as well. The parking is probably the only challenge, so I tend to go during slightly off-peak hours. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you are ever near the Stanford San Mateo border area, looking for a nice excellent meal, you might want to try the Sand Hill Kitchen. The food is excellent and everything is always very fresh. The location is quiet and super clean. The service is impeccable and while you're enjoying your meal one of the staff will definitely check to make sure you're enjoying your meals. This is a quiet and low-key location with exquisite ambience. If you have not already done so , try it out and please let me know what you think.

Bianca I.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 The thai salad with chicken, the homemade French fries, Arnold Palmer and tahini chocolate chip cookies were all amazing. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the ambience and I think it is a bit overpriced. It would be perfect for a work lunch given the not so cozy vibe.

Alyia M.

Yelp
Quite literally a hidden gem! The breakfast sandwich and club sandwich are amazing. Definitely be sure to order a side of their wonderful fries! The ingredients are truly quality and prices are reasonable. The service is pretty quick and the ambiance is terrific, whether you sit inside or out.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Great lunch spot but it can be a little difficult to find parking. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It's lively and inviting ambiance. A lot of people work in the area. The portions are large and there is plenty of healthy options. Definitely ask about their daily/weekly specials. I once had their cantaloupe prosciutto salad and it was refreshing. My coworkers split 2 entrees and the servers were accommodating by splitting the food on separate plates. The salads and dessert are tasty! The sandwiches are filling and the bread is fluffy with just enough of an outer crunch.

Studlee L.

Yelp
I got diarrhea after eating their cold, green chili chicken soup. When the soup initially came out, it was cold so I asked the waitress to reheat or microwave the soup.. She told me that they didn't have a microwave and took the soup back to reheat a new one. When the new soup came out, it was cold like the 1st one and made that clear to the waitress , At this point, after taking one bite, I could not eat anymore . The waitress did nothing to make this better , she could have replaced it with something else or offer a refund for it but none of that happened to make the situation better. I should not have been charged for the soup but didn't make a fuss about it since I was with customers for lunch.

Laura A.

Yelp
Lovely location; service and ingredients. The salads are huge, but honestly, nothing you can't make at home.

Mila L.

Yelp
It is a nice simple restaurant for breakfast and brunch. It is situated in a nice and quiet area in Menlo Park. The menu is simple, but good and fresh. The french fries were so good and kale juice was so refreshing. The service was quick. The restaurant is good for a group of people. I will come back next time.

Susan M.

Yelp
Delicious, creative spin to classics...the French fries here are truly worth extra time at the gym. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. Service is great, too - friendly staff, and the owner is a gem. Comes out often to connect with patrons. Class act. It's a great spot for conversations and casual meetings.

Laura L.

Yelp
This place is SO good and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten super crowded yet. I like to come for the fried chicken sandwich -- the chicken is super tender with a crispy exterior. The sandwich also has a sweet sauce (hot honey) that pairs perfectly with the chicken. The fries they have also have a nice seasoning on them. We also ordered the bodega sandwich to try something new--I liked the party but the English muffin was a bit thick for my preferences. They also have delicious pressed juices. I enjoyed my carrot orange juice!

Wallace C.

Yelp
Popped by with a good bud as we were looking for an easy lunch in the neighborhood. We both ordered the club sandwich with fries and the chef did add their spin to the sandwich but only in the most approved way. It came on ciabatta and the guac was not an extra charge. The fries had a crispy exterior and the interior was soft and melt your face off hot. I've always been jealous of those who could make fries like this. Anyways, service was attentive, setting was fantastic, we were able to 'talk shop' without getting bothered and we'll definitely be back.

Miranda M.

Yelp
First up - it's located way inside a sprawling office park and only open for breakfast/lunch Monday-Friday. But it is definitely worth seeking out! Incredibly fresh and delicious farm-to-table menu. Everything we tried was amazing. I had the vegan sando and and an incredible carrot bisque. I feel like i'm eating somewhere that in a few years the chef will have his own restaurant and a Michelin star. It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area - and a good spot to bring your parents if they're visiting and you want to impres them

Allister D.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant! It's comfy and cozy with it's small space but has plenty of seating, outdoor lounge space, and an open kitchen! This kind of reminds me of an upscale modern restaurant; I also love their interior decor! My friend took me in to have lunch during our lunch breaks from work yesterday. I had the Bodega sandwich which had this in-house made sourdough English muffin, herb aioli, cheddar cheese, arugula, and egg. It paired beautifully with their hand cut fries which were fried perfectly and tossed in lemon pepper seasoning! These were so good. This is a great place for lunch and will be coming back again!

Cheyenne S.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Have been many times. I especially like the cookies and the fresh juices

Josie S.

Yelp
Highly recommend this restaurant! The food is elevated American. Delicious salads, fried chicken, sandwiches, daily specials, specialty coffees and pastries. You can eat indoors or outdoors. A true gem for lunch. The Chef is a true talent.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Surprisingly not a lot of breakfast choices in Menlo Park. This restaurant supports a conference center but open to the public. Decent food, good service and convenient for our visit.

Cassidy M.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in my experience here, especially considering the high ratings here on Yelp and other sites. Starting off with the positives: the interior and ambiance are wonderful. It's a spacious, light, tastefully decorated place with ample outdoor seating and plenty of shady spots. A great place to hang out solo or dine with friends. The food and drink were incredibly disappointing though. I ordered a chicken schnitzel and iced tea. The iced tea was undrinkable. It tasted like chemicals or soap. It did not taste anything like fresh "cold brew" iced tea as claimed on the menu. I'd strongly recommend getting something else to drink. It remind me of Nestea powdered iced tea that had gone rancid in the sun. The chicken schnitzel was very nicely presented but incredibly bland even with a drizzle of sauce on top. The menu said "everything bagel seasoning" in the breading but I tasted none of that. It tasted completely unseasoned. The cabbage was ok and the chicken was at least crispy and tender. The sauce was a bit bland as well. The best part of the dish was the optional fried egg. I'll give this place another shot, maybe this was just a bad day. I think I'll steer clear of any of the fried foods though and the iced tea as well.

Jenna L.

Yelp
Found this place when I was googling nearby restaurants opened early. When I arrived I was told the kitchen opens at 8 am but I could order coffee and pastries. I would say overall my meal was a 4/5 but the service was excellent and attentive. My latte was great! It came a rock candy stir stick and cute latte art. The kouign amann was high quality but it was sitting around at room temperature, so it was uncrispy and a little soggy from the filling: it could be so much better if they would warm them. I ordered the Josie Chop Salad with chicken and I think other salads would taste better just from the combination of ingredients: The organo dressing was mostly sour, which didn't add much when the pickled peppers were already there. The fries were wonderful: crispy coated and thick cut.

Louanne F.

Yelp
A little gem hidden away, you wouldn't notice it unless you are specifically coming here. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Service was great even when they were busy during lunch hour. My party ordered the seasonal cod, which they thought was phenomenal! I had the Salmon Salad Sandwich, which I was skeptical at first, but turned out pretty good! Overall, I would visit this place again! The only thing is I wish there were more options on the menu.

Maher K.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. It's a hidden gem and I hate to put a review for a place that I want to keep all to myself, but the food quality is incredible. The best hand french fries anyone has ever had freshest salads with fantastic organic wholesome ingredients a terrific chicken sandwich, and just one of the most peaceful and Zen settings you can imagine sitting in the courtyard you kind of feel like you're in Hawaii great momentary reprieve from the chaos in the neighboring buildings

Deepankar D.

Yelp
Great service and ambience. We ordered the chicken salad. I wish the chicken was not sliced paper thin but like regular thickness and there was more of it.

Jeff F.

Yelp

Yelp
We came here a little before 11am and were told the lunch menu would be available at 11, so we waited to order the lunch items. I got the Thai salad and my husband ordered the tuna sandwich. The restaurant is located in a business complex off Sand Hill Road. It's very quiet and peaceful. There was ample parking and free superchargers as well. This was a great perk to charge our car for free while grabbing lunch! The atmosphere is lovely - come on a beautiful day and enjoy the patio seating. They have plenty of tables and umbrellas, and a peaceful water fountain as well. I loved my salad. It was one of the best salads I've had in a while! Really fresh ingredients and the dressing was great. My husband liked his tuna sandwich and would order it again. We are looking forward to returning!

Fred S.

Yelp
Great place for lunch. Excellent food and service. The venue overlooks the bay. It was recently renovated and retains its 1960's California big timber architecture built into the environment. It's special.

Gina S.

Yelp
Our definite Fave Kitchen in the area! Today we tried the Daily Special SHK Reuben...a knockout! We also shared my entrée, the Mary's Chicken Breast, flattened and crumbed with everything bagel spice, caper aioli, seared cabbage. delish indeed. For apps we ordered our usual hand-cut Giant Fries and Kitchen made Potato Chips. We always order the desserts from the counter as to-go. A true GEM with an ever changing menu. Service with Delia was delightful and efficient. Actually I would rate the all servers and Manager as great as the food. Must come!

Bunnypie W.

Yelp
A hidden gem. It was a quiet weekday morning when hubby and I wanted to check out a new spot for brunch. It was the perfect location within our hood. Didn't realize been open since last May. The staff were attentive and service was wonderful. Everything we order were fresh and delicious. For sure will go back. Planning another lunch hang out with friends. Only one suggestion is... if there could be more parking spaces closer.

Pam R.

Yelp
It's located in a business park so it could be a tad difficult to find and the parking can be a bit of a challenge but the food is outstanding. I've been to Sand Hill Kitchen twice. The Thai Salad's ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The second time I had the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was delicious as well as the miso tahini cookie. Portions are very generous and the outdoor seating is plentiful and peaceful, especially if you're next to the waterfall.

Baldeep D.

Yelp
This is the best place for breakfast or lunch on Sandhill Road. Very friendly staff also. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Jerry B.

Yelp
Wow. The food here is amazing. I ate there last week and I'm still telling people about it. My group had a Thai salad; a burger; a power bowl; and a veggie sandwich. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. And the ambiance sitting outside is also refreshing. Can't wait to go back!

Eric H.

Yelp
Sand Hill Kitchen is in an interesting location. I thought we were lost because it's in a large conference center. Anyway, as soon as you enter you know it's going to be good! The egg breakfast was delicious, and the bacon was out of this world! The fries and chicken sandwich were mouth watering. And they had a turmeric latte that was phenomenal. Considering how fancy the ambiance, the prices were amazing too. This was a place for rich people with rich taste but on a middle class income. We left feeling full and satisfied!

Kate S.

Yelp
Great salads! Sitting outside on the deck area was so peaceful and warm. You can probably expect to walk a bit from where you park to get to the restaurant, but this hidden gem is worth it, we will be back!

Sherry L.

Yelp
How did I not discover this place sooner?! This restaurant is hidden in a beautiful area in Menlo Park. Flavorful dishes with great presentation. Exceptional service. It's a perfect place to have lunch with your coworkers, catch up with friends or even a little lunch date with special someone. Highly recommend: Fried chicken sandwich Hand cut fries Chef Nicolai's Miso Tahini Cookie And of course everything else! They are all so good and I can't wait to go back again!

Vicki T.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Palo Alto. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The salads are big and could be a shareable if you plan to share a couple of items. Sandwiches come with house made seasoned potato chips. The chips are great, and I'd definitely get fries the next time.

Hong C.

Yelp
It's perfect as always. Seared fish is hhhhhhhhighly recommended. See you next week!

Matt M.

Yelp
A friend of mine introduced me to this hidden wonder of a restaurant a couple weeks ago. I brought my wife back with me today because I was so excited to see her experience it for the first time. Hours later we're still saying, "that was one of the best lunches I've ever had." I had the fried chicken sandwich again because it's so good. I'm a Georgian who loves fried chicken and this sandwich is as good as any I've ever had. We also tried the french fries, which are not your standard throwaway fry. These are really freakin good, thick, well seasoned and perfectly fried. The Bodega sandwich with house made pork and guac was stellar. We also had the chicken paillard, which is a generous portion of thin, well prepared chicken. Really good. Also had the green pressed juice and the cookie, and basically everything is something I have on the repeat list. Going to be hard to branch out and try other items on the menu but I can tell they're going to be good. Love this spot, will be recommending this to anyone looking for a great lunch in the Menlo Park/Sand Hill area.

Lis M.

Yelp
Tiny hidden gem! Hubs had the the bodega and we shared the chilaquiles. Food was absolutely spectacular!!! Super light, fresh, flavorful and authentic! We came on Valentine's Day and were given 2 Roses and a giant cookie to go! I've never had a meal that the chef paid so much attention to such tiny details which made the food that much better. Service was great, too, and absolutely beautiful decor. Our new go to! Can't wait to try their famous oat crusted apple cranberry chutney pancake next time.

Sandra W.

Yelp
Parking was a bit hard since I was there on Monday for early lunch. I had Thai Salad, it has green papaya. It was one of the best salad I ever had

Kim N.

Yelp
This is my second time here. I was really impressed with my to go order the first time that I made it back to dine-in. This time, I was disappointed. I ordered the same Bodega sandwich with bacon. It was sitting in a pool of sauce that looked like sweet chili? I asked the server, and she said it was hot honey. It looked really thin and tasted too sweet and made it messy to eat. The egg was also overcooked or was flat. No yolk like the first time. Next time, no honey or sauce on the side. The service was lacking as well. I asked for hot sauce, and no one returned. I finally got the server to get hot sauce, she said there's only two options; Cholula and Crystals. I later saw there's two organic hot sauces on the empty table behind. The server never returned with the bill or checked on us. If this was my first time, I would rate 3 stars and not come back for a long time. I'm giving 5 stars because I was happy with my food the first time and my Bodega sandwich made me compare it to Model Bakery in Napa, CA and Manresa Bread breakfast sandwich. This place has passion and a lot of potential. It seems like it's in a business area and without yelp, ppl won't know about it. Support the business. The salads were great with big portions. They have quality ingredients. The chicken sandwich has a sweetness to it but didn't bother me as much as the Bodega sandwich. The chicken was moist and crispy. I'll pass on the side salad next time. The miso cookie I believe, has pecans or nuts, so if you have an allergy to nuts, be aware.

Dinah M.

Yelp
Had a delish chicken club sandwich. Stuffed with chicken, bacon & beautiful tomatoes, with house made potato chips. YUM!

J Q.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and satisfying--order the fried chicken sandwich WITH FRIES (SO good!) Staff is always top notch and friendly!

James R.

Yelp
Amazing set up. Food is healthy and delicious, and the people are very nice. A hidden gem!

OC A.

Yelp
It's a hidden little gem. You wouldn't think you would find this little restaurant in the middle of a business parking lot! It was so cute and the food was honest so good. Little pricey for the portions but overall such good flavors Cute indoor and outdoor seating. See photos Got the friend check sand witch and co worker got pot pie

Robyn S.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service in a beautiful setting. Great menu options and good prices. Highly recommend!

Kerry C.

Yelp
The food here was so good and fresh and so different!! The Caesar salad with chicken was so tasty, and so crunchy and so fresh! And my daughter got the fried chicken sandwich which was so tasty!! We will come again!

M G.

Yelp
Pleasant surprised by the quality of food and drink at this small cafe. Would come back! Matcha latte was solid and not too sweet. Their crispy chicken sandwich was delish.

Jen L.

Yelp
Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas. I had the Thai salad with chicken $18 and it was phenomenal. My husband was jealous about my order and ended up eating 1/3 of it even though he ordered a club sandwich for himself, which he said was ok.

Michelle C.

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem! LOVE the atmosphere, very relaxing and beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating. We tried the Thai salad with salmon which was a 5 star and very delicious. The oatmeal bowl was not bad but a bit bland. Also had a latte there and it was good. Would definitely come back and excited to try other dishes!

S Y.

Yelp
Food is mediocre and overpriced. Parking during lunchtime is a nightmare. Not worth the hassle.
