SF’s Best New Happy Hours - Eater SF

"A sophisticated happy hour is now on at this Tenderloin hotspot, and it’s a good one. Barman Brandon Clements thoughtfully crafted cocktails are $5, as are the snacks. ‘Toga tots, a Tetris-like structure of fried potatoes topped with Fiscalini cheddar and chorizo, is among the snacks on offer, while Remember the Maine combines rye, sweet vermouth, cherry heering, and absinthe. Happy hour is from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays." - Ellen Fort, Caleb Pershan

The Burger Heatmap: 15 Burgers to Eat Right Now - Eater SF

"The Saratoga is all about luxurious comfort food, as evidenced by the Saratoga burger. It's got two patties, Taleggio cheese, and slaw on an onion bun. The slaw is the perfect foil for a rich, salty burger. Follow up with the Toga Tots and you'll be set." - Stefanie Tuder, Ellen Fort, Caleb Pershan

Nice looking place... let's see, major lint in our wine glasses was not a good way to start. The tater tots, warm tomato dip and asparagus salad were pretty decent.. mussels were meh- beer sauce was still bitter, sugar snap peas were too overcooked- we unfortunately sent them back. Over seasoned Shoestring fries, we hardly touched but the server did not even bother to ask if we wanted to take them to go... she could care less about the entire dinner.... over all... We would only come back for drinks

...Nothing fantastic. I generally do not write lackluster reviews, but The Saratoga did not live up to the expectation.  The cocktails were good, the bar itself is very beautiful. That was the highlight. The chef's special appetizer (something like a hamachi carpaccio) was the best item of the night. We ordered the Dry-Aged Flannery's New York Steak-it was barely typical; Roasted Baby Squash was zucchini/nothing special - dinner disappointing. Their Ho-ho was delicious and fun though. Menu prices definitely is not reflective of their food, flair and experience.  This is a future skip for our group.

***Only been here for weekend brunch*** I came because it was on the Eater Brunch list and my friend told me that their burgers are one of the best in the city. That I would agree with, the burger was really good and they cut it in half for us knowing we wanted to share everything. Was a very nice touch. MUST GET: Burger. If you don't like very strong cheeses, i'd recommend that you ask if you can change the one they usually put on there or just take it out. DON'T GET: Billionare's bacon unless you have 4 or more people to share it with. It's very thick and very fatty. The first bite was awesome with an explosion of fattiness but the 2nd and 3rd just became too oily and fatty that I felt gross after. French Toast was disappointing. It's a huge portion and was really mushy and not crispy on the edges either. The syrup they made was too strong in bourbon. I've heard great things about their dinner so maybe i'll come back to try that and see if its better!

Nice, clean environment and friendly staff. Their focus is clearly around beverages while the brunch menu includes mostly some variations of the classics brunch entries but not much more. I ordered the Benedict, which was quite tasty.

Stopped by for after dinner drinks and had a wonderful experience! The bar tender (Dean) was super friendly, made excellent drinks, and we even liked their unique twist on fries when we indulged in a late night snack :) highly recommend!

The Octopus is extremely tender and tasty. Great liquor and wine selection. Awesome ambiance but too pricy.

Burger was an A...fries good but not great...bourbon menu was 10 pages long! The service was really, really good though, and everything ran quite smoothly. If I hadn’t eaten so many fries I would’ve tried the Scotchy, Scotch Scotch dessert!

Absolutely enjoyed having brunch here! The Hail Mary Bloody Mary was an amazing experience. It's a meal in itself with very creative food skewers. Loved the tater tot jenga, too. The library of whiskeys is impressive as well. Highly recommend!
