"The Gallery in The Savoy hotel on the Strand is a place reserved for telling someone big life updates, like the fact that you got engaged, or just started watching Vanderpump Rules. The blush-coloured space feels like the inside of a powder puff, and sofas are sit-for-three-hours comfortable. Enjoy the live pianist while working your way through sandwiches and standout bites like the parsnip and carrot cake that you’ll want more of (which they provide, free of charge). Although the scones aren’t the fluffiest, the desserts, like a tart raspberry and fig cake, bring it back." - rianne shlebak, eileen twum
"The Gallery room in The Savoy hotel on the Strand is the kind of room reserved for telling someone big life updates, like the fact that you just got engaged, or that you started watching Vanderpump Rules. It’s a place for classy, understated celebration. The gorgeous blush-coloured space feels like the inside of a pink powder puff, grand chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a stained glass dome gives the room a regal feel. Sofas are sit-for-three-hours kind of comfortable, and you should. That way you can enjoy the live pianist—ask to sit across the room from them so it’s more pleasant background noise than a conversation stopper—while slowly working your way through the afternoon tea. The savoury part comes with the regular finger sandwiches as well as some standout bites like a parsnip and carrot cake, or truffle and egg brioche that you’ll want more of (which they provide, free of charge). Although the scones aren’t the fluffiest, the desserts bring it back, with things like a raspberry and fig cake with a nice tang. photo credit: The Savoy photo credit: Jack Hardy photo credit: The Savoy Pause Unmute" - Rianne Shlebak
