The Sconery - Review - Sunnyside - New York - The Infatuation

"Queens gets its own version of East Village scone shop Mary O's. This Sunnyside bakery specializes in scones that look beautifully craggy. Flavors currently on offer include blueberry, cherry chocolate, and cheddar pepper. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Molly Fitzpatrick

The scones here are baked fresh every morning, and you can really taste the difference. I tried the cranberry orange, cheddar, and raspberry all of them were delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. The staff was friendly and very quick at preparing the order. Definitely a great local spot in Sunnyside for a morning treat or quick snack.

I love a good scone and The Sconery did not disappoint. I tried the cheddar pepper scone and it was incredible. The perfect slight crisp on the outside and buttery, soft and light on the inside. The other scones on display looked lovely as well so I’ll definitely be back to try more. The cheddar scone was $5 but it was a good size. — I have since been back three more times and everything is still divine. Adding a few more pictures of some of the yummy things I’ve tried. Note that they switch up flavors regularly as they go by what fresh fruit/ingredients they have.

The scones here are amazing, the smell walking into the place was divine. I got the cheddar pepper scone, blueberry scones, and raspberry lemon scones. ALL were delicious but my favorite of all was the cheddar pepper. The atmosphere was amazing i saw the scones being freshly made! (Which is amazing) will definitely come back to try more flavors

Was walking by and noticed a new store in the area. Walked in to take a look and was enticed by the smell of delicious baked goods. I typically do not like the scones made here in the US, as I find them to be hard and dry, but I figured I’d give them a try. I purchased three scones, and I was very happily surprised and impressed by each. The cinnamon scone was warm from the oven, it was moist had a cinnamon layer inside and was glazed. So delicious! The cream scone was tender and moist- true to a cream scone in the UK. The blueberry was out of this world. Very excited about the shop and will stopping by regularly. Staff was super friendly, felt like you were in a family‘s kitchen. Highly recommend!

Google
This bakery is truly a neighborhood treasure! The scones are so buttery and delicious, made with care that you can taste in every bite. The shop feels welcoming, the staff are always kind, and you leave not only with amazing treats but also with a smile. It’s the kind of local place that makes our community feel special. Highly recommend stopping by!

I think it's a work in progress still, the scones are really good, but in truth they do differ from an English scone, comes in a number of flavors. Coffee was very good. I think they should definitely look into more baked items and maybe do soup and homemade bread for the winter.

Google
This place smells absolutely delicious when you walk in. I tried the cranberry orange scone which was good but I wish it had more cranberries and more orange flavor, but it was definitely a solid scone. Hopefully they'll do more savory scones soon, seems like there is just one savory flavor each day. Maybe even breakfast sandwiches on the scones soon?? A girl can dream.

Are you craving scones!? This is the place to get them. Freshly baked, several selections, and a decently sized. These scones are delicious and one may just be enough to satisfy a craving...not much left though 😋

Yelp
Not being a fan of scones myself, I decided to stop at The Sconery on a recent visit from Florida to visit my daughter...cautiously, I ordered a blueberry one--one melting bite and I was blown away--during the week, I tried every flavor available and had the same reaction every time!!!! Upon my return to Florida, I'm missing my daughter and grandson, but missing The Sconery is a very close second!!!! Hope they start a mail order service soon.

Yelp
This place is a gem! I'm so glad they are now open on weekends so I can indulge with a Lemon Raspberry scone after my run!

Yelp
Days: Monday-Saturday Beginning this past weekend, they will open on Saturdays too. Closed Sundays. Hours: 7:30AM-3:00PM M-F, 8:30-3:00 S. If you love scones, check out this new place that recently opened. Family owned, the owners and employees are really sweet. First time I went, I got Cinnamon (my friend loves this one) and Plain. Didn't get cream cheese green onion nor chocolate chip. They ran out of peach and another flavor. Second time I went, we picked up Cream Cheese Green Onion, Lemon Raspberry, Blueberry, and Vanilla Blackberry for a house warming. Everyone loves it especially the blueberry. The second savory wouldn't be ready until an hour later. They have been opened for several weeks and it's brand new. Go give them a try.

Yelp
The Sconery offers delicious buttery scones! When we went, they had blueberry, cranberry orange, cinnamon, cheddar pepper, peach, raisin, and a regular ol' plain. We went for the cranberry orange and the cheddar pepper! They also have coffee, so you can complement your scone treats. Go early, as they sell out quickly! Friendly staff! +go early! +buttery scones +friendly staff

Yelp
Absolutely a charming little spot that opened only two months ago! Flavors change on the daily according to what ingredients the chef is able to source and everything is fresh (the fruits, the veggies and of course the scones). The scones are a lovely size and five bucks a pop. They're warm and soft and slightly chewy. I got a cream cheese scallion scone and it had pockets of cream cheese throughout, though the scallions were admittedly few and far between, and had everything seasoning a top. Would absolutely come back to try more! (Also I'm really glad they changed their hours because before it was impossible to get to as a working woman, so kudos to them!)

Yelp
Soft fluffy scones that aren't too sweet. The service is friendly and they answer questions. The coffee is really good too. They have benches for sitting outside. I like that is small abd you can see everything being made. They close at 3 pm and are now open on Sundays.

Yelp
I think I'm a scone person now. My wife picked up the scone which she said came right out of the oven, and wow. I guess the freshness makes all the difference. The scone was thick and biscuit like. Buttery and crumbly. It was a cranberry and orange scone, so flavors of tart, citrus, and sweetness came through.

Yelp
Wonderful scones. The variety is great. Very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend

Yelp
The coconut scone I got here was life altering. I'm happy I live in LIC or I'd be at this place daily. The service was so warm and welcoming and I can't wait for a celebratory excuse to come back.

Yelp
It's wonderful to see that Sunnyside, Queens (and beyond) has discovered Chef Sheila's scrumptious scones at The Sconery Bakery! I've enjoyed every delicious scone but my favorites are Cherry-Chocolate-Chunk and Lemon Raspberry. I stop by the shop 3-4 times a week for my scone, banana bread and chocolate chip cookie fix. The Scenery is Heaven sent!
