San Diego’s Top Restaurants for Wedding Receptions and Dinners | Eater San Diego

"With a venue that faces the glistening Pacific, Seabird captures the beachy California wedding vibe. Piper, the hotel’s restaurant, is a hotspot for coastal weddings: bright light from the floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate the space and the outdoor patio is ideal for taking in the cool breeze during warmer days. This indoor-outdoor venue can accommodate 130 guests. Event menus are customizable and include seasonal produce picked up by chef Chris Carriker for handmade pastas such as the three-cheese ravioli with asparagus and Parmesan cream. Private dining menus in the past have featured dishes such as the little gem Caesar salad and the cedar planked sea bass with artichoke lemon cream. This is a Hyatt affiliate located in Oceanside right on the Pacific coast. I am a lifetime Globalist and I’ve stayed at hundreds of Hyatt hotels around the world my expectations, admittedly, we’re very high for this resort …unfortunately, my expectations were not met and as an avid Hyatt Honors participant I feel compelled to advise the Hyatt community as to my experience.||While I won’t go into great detail. I will summarize my disappointment as follows|1. The hotel caters to the beach, going crowd offering beach parking as well as dining services. What this does is creates an exceptional congestion at valet parking resulting in waiting times of over 30 minutes. Additionally, beachgoers clogged the family restaurant and I we were able to have breakfast only once out of four tries the average wait time an hour and 30 minutes|2. When inquiring about breakfast I was told to simple “eat in my room” as a reasonable alternative. Really?|3. The accommodations well nice were not exceptional. I reserve two rooms one in Ocean view and one a partial ocean view. The average rate for the ocean view was 700 per night. The average rate for the partial ocean view was 500 per night I requested higher floors upon check-in. I received a second floor ocean view. There was partially blocked by two palm trees and my ocean partial ocean view room had absolutely no ocean view whatsoever Upon inquiry the front desk I was told well the lower floor sometimes get blocked and that’s just how it is no offer to remove rooms or make additional accommodations|4.I did reserve a dinner reservation at the same restaurant that was overcrowded and was placed at a table adjacent to the kitchen when I requested a different table I was told sorry there’s nothing available.||5. the food was mediocre at best and I recommend if you stay here to visit the numerous boutique restaurants along the beach||as a longtime Hyatt member I am a big fan of the Hyatt brand unfortunately this hotel did not meet the normal Hyatt standards and I was extremely disappointed with our stay

A Wonderful Hyatt: I had a fantastic stay at The Seabird Hotel! The staff was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location is ideal—just across a quiet street from the beach. The hotel’s beach-themed decor is both elegant and inviting, with soft colors that capture the coastal vibe beautifully. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities: complimentary beach chairs, towels, and even beach toys for the kids, which made family beach days effortless and fun. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly beach getaway with top-notch service.

The service here is amazing! The staff from the valet, bellman to the front desk are very nice. They read your comments before you check in. I told them it was my husband's birthday and they sent up a note and chocolates. The room itself was clean and I got a pool view with an ocean view too. The bed was comfy. The robe and slippers were soft. This was my 3rd stay here!

Google
Hate to not leave a perfect review for The Seabird. Our room was great and comfortable. The lobby is gorgeous. What was unacceptable was the cabana we rented for the day in the anarchy that is their pool area. Kids are running and screaming in the entire pool area. There is a sign that says no small children in the jacuzzi, yet that’s all that is in the jacuzzi. To pay extra to reserve a cabana was a complete waste of money. Staff and parents let children scream and run like a circus. Parents are getting drunk letting their kids do whatever they want. A group of kids were filling cups of water from the water jug and pouring them on each other in the jacuzzi and then just throwing the cups on the ground. Over and over again. Staff watched and did nothing. Frustrating day - hoping the resort finds a way to control the environment so all guests can enjoy the space.

Google
Cute place! Rooms - there are two ocean view type rooms. The regular ocean view really means just partial ocean, I wish we knew. We ended up pacing, mostly the street with a little glimpse of the ocean. Rooms are clean. They have slippers which I love. Service - generally above expectation. The pool had to close for 24 hours, which was a bummer, when asked, they did provide an alternate solution Location - it’s located in a busy street so be aware if you’re bringing a car!

Google
I loved the location of the hotel being right across from the Oceanside Pier. The Spa services were excellent. The staff was always friendly and helpful. It was a bonus that you could use the amenities of their sister hotel next door. I preferred that pool which was rooftop and had a DJ and was more adults than children. I look forward to coming back again and would recommend this hotel.

Google
This hotel is situated in the prime strip of the gentrified side of Oceanside, surrounded by cool restaurants and bars. The pool here is beautiful with an Amazing view of the ocean. We were visiting friends here, who were staying with their kids (ages 7 and 9) who said they were really happy with the place, and it’s very family friendly. We are planning a stay with our own kids next month for our daughter’s birthday!

This was our third stay at The Seabird, and it continues to be a favorite. We love the property and the thoughtful amenities it offers. The location is perfect—just steps from the pier, the beach, and a great variety of dining options. The staff are always warm and welcoming, greeting us with a smile and making us feel right at home. Each time we visit, it gets harder to leave

Yelp
Stayed here for a weekend the rooms and interiors are very nice. Easy access to beach. I like how the pool is heated. I felt like it was unclear how to turn thr jets on in the hot tub. Valet parking is around $50. But there are some nearby lots you can park at for cheaper. Our toliet wasnt flushing and we had to request twice for someone to come address it.

Yelp
I stayed here in October 2024 for a work conference. I really enjoyed my room, which had the perfect setup for what I needed. Bed was extremely comfortable with fluffy pillows. Instead of the standard hotel desk, there was a table, which was perfect for meals and work. The only complant I had was that the closet light is on a timer but randomly went off a few times. Thankfully, it wasn't when I was sleeping but still. I LOVED the DryBar hair dryer, and the bathroom was set up nicely so that the toilet was in its own separate room. The lobby is nicely decorated, and there are plenty of places should you need a place to hang out outside of your own room. It was convenient to have plugs built into the furniture in the lobby. The gym is also very modern, and there were so many choices as far as workout equipment. Between treadmills/bikes to weights to core workout, Seabird had you covered. They also had filtered water available in all the floors, as well as the gym. The Seabird has a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, and it is one block to the water. The Top Gun House is across the street. The hotel staff were really nice and helpful. I will definitely consider Seabird when I am on the West Coast.

Yelp
***4.5 Stars*** Seabird gets a lot of love from family travel influencers on social media. That's how my wife discovered The Seabird and also why we decided to split a week between Oceanside and San Diego. Overall it's a very nice hotel, especially the lobby and main floor areas. An Instagram worthy atmosphere with modern and upscale furniture with a lot of attention to detail. Like others have mentioned the pool area is also quite nice and family friendly with an adjoining bar and restaurant. The Seabird really shines as a family friendly hotel. They have a program for kids and have daily activities for the little ones (at the beach and at the hotel). My daughter enjoyed making sandcastles and flying a kite for the first time. They have a camper by the beach that is a convenient spot to grab waters, get beach chairs and also kids beach accessories (sandcastle tools, balls, etc) which are complimentary. Another highlight of the hotel is their restaurant Piper. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and again very kid friendly. I was a Guest of Honor, so basically breakfast was comp'd the entire stay. The rooms themselves are just okay, more like 4 star accomodations than 5 star. Even though the hotel is not that old (3.5 years?), the furniture and certain parts of the room are showing signs of wear. Still nice rooms though. Also, as much as we liked The Seabird, I think we would only stay 2 nights in Oceanside instead of the 4 nights we stayed.

Yelp
When things go wrong, there is no customer service. I booked a one-night stay here, and after waiting for hours past check-in time, my room never became available. They offered me a downgraded room eventually, but I requested a refund instead. The refund is still pending, and I had to follow up multiple times to even get it authorized. I was comped with chips and dip for my inconvenience, only to find that they ended up charging me for it anyway. I did manage to get that reversed after another outreach. After years of being a Hyatt enthusiast (and earning their highest Globalist status), and not feeling the love lately, I was ready to move on anyway. This experience solidified that I made the right decision to expand my hotel preferences.

Yelp
The Seabird Resort in Oceanside is a beautiful property with so much to offer, especially the incredible art throughout the hotel. Every corner seems to showcase unique pieces, creating an elegant and inspiring atmosphere that really stands out. That said, our stay was impacted by a significant issue: one of the elevators was out of service for the entire week. This led to long wait times--about 10 minutes each time--which was frustrating. To make matters worse, the front desk didn't inform us about this at check-in, nor did they offer guidance on alternative stairways. A little proactive communication would have gone a long way in managing expectations. On the positive side, the staff were generally friendly, and the small perks, like complimentary water bottles upon request, were appreciated. The pool area was lovely and added to the relaxing ambiance. Overall, The Seabird is a stunning resort with so much potential, but the unresolved elevator issue and lack of communication were definite drawbacks. If these areas are improved, it would make for an even better stay. Still, the art and overall vibe of the hotel are truly something special.

Yelp
LOVED The Seabird Resort! I attended a work conference at The Seabird Resort and enjoyed a few days at the hotel. I arrived via car and the guys at the valet were efficient and helpful - off to a good start. Front desk was great - checked me in quickly and gave me a run-down on the property. My room was excellent - spacious, clean, modern, comfortable and nicely decorated. For our conference, we used the great room, smaller conference rooms and enjoyed breakfast, lunch, cocktail & dinner parties as well as snacks throughout the day - all quite nice. One evening, we had a private party upstairs at the Shelter Club. It was fun but our dinner was "meh." Fish, meat and potatoes type of stuff - I didn't find any of it overly appealing and I didn't enjoy it much. Also, there was only one bartender with a long line of thirsty partygoers impatiently waiting (however, service was excellent - the guy was really good!) The pool table was a hit with our group. The bar on the first floor was great - excellent service and a fun vibe. Overall, I enjoyed The Seabird Resort and would return for a personal stay with my wife (it was that good!) 5 stars

Yelp
Attended a conference here and stayed 4 nights. The customer service from the valet parking attendants to the front desk staff was phenomenal. The pool area was my favorite; great spot to watch the sunset. The hotel is also within walking distance to many restaurants! Due to the conference, they cut the resort fee and parking cost in half which I was thankful for. The resort fee included chairs and umbrellas if you go down to the beach. I also ate in Piper which was the restaurant in the lobby and it was very good. Two downsides: the bed wasn't very comfortable and the elevators too forever! It was also a very long walk to the elevator from where my room was.

Yelp
Beautiful view from this new-ish resort! Everything was clean and well maintained. I enjoyed my three night stay here and staff was nice and friendly, even when they cannot locate a hair curler for me to use. They made it very easy to enjoy my stay - making it a four star instead of three. There are three issues I had during my stay that unfortunately make the stay less than perfect: - The elevator can be very slow when there are multiple people calling it. For some reason, sometimes only one of the elevator cars would be moving, which I assume is some sort of program that was supposed to move people more efficiently. Alas it did not. - Beds were extremely soft. Not a good fit for those with back issues. - The motion sensor light in the closet would randomly turn on in the middle of the night, preventing a good night sleep. Apparently it's on a timer and turns off after 10 mins. Imagine if you are trying to go to bed and have to wait 10 mins for it to go off... I heard other guests complaining about it as well.

Yelp
i really enjoyed my stay at the seabird. i was here for a week during a work conference, which was also held at the seabird. i was able to enjoy the room, pool, several meals at restaurants and the bar. the staff was very warm, welcoming, and always friendly and helpful. the gym was phenomenal- by far the best gym at a hotel i've experienced. the pool is gorgeous and overlooking the beautiful beach- what a view! the room was spacious and very clean. my entire group also loved how many stores, bars and restaurants are in a very short walking distance from the hotel- plus just a short walk to the Amtrak. loved this stay, can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Common, this place is awesome. Stayed here with my wife and enjoyed a couple nights on the water. Great service in all departments. A clean, refreshing atmosphere is always needed. We tried piper for breakfast , it was nice. Used the pool and enjoyed the room. All in all I want to come back. Check it out!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel across the street from the Pacific Ocean. Check in was smooth, they have valet parking on site or you can pay for city parking around the corner. Nice bar area that is kid friendly with a view of the ocean. Staff was friendly

Yelp
What an awesome hotel/spa. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Check in was seamless. The Valet and Bellhop were readily available as we pulled up. The Front desk team was super friendly and courteous. They had a welcome bag for our dog that Included treats, a frisbee and a bandanna (see picture). Our room was the Ocean View Premier. It did not disappoint with sweeping views of the ocean and pier from the room and the huge wrap around balcony. Sounds of the waves all day and night long if you wanted it. We were impressed how quiet the room was if the exterior sliding door was closed. This made for a great night's sleep. How totally awesome that there is an actual library on the premises. It's freaking beautiful and a rare find! The bed was awesome as were the bed coverings and pillows. Speaking of pillows, we asked for additional pillows, coffee and towels before our arrival and all were already in our room when we arrived. We stayed at the Seabird for 4 days and other than taking a walk for personal supplies or taking our dog for exploration around O'side and further south to dog friendly beaches, we utilized the restaurants and both Hyatt resorts. Seldom do you find a resort with this many excellent eateries. Our dog, Sian, (Shaun) was the Belle of the Ball. Welcomed everywhere and the resort has plenty of dog friendly areas for them to relieve themselves. Please remember to clean up after your pet. So many people don't and it's just not right for a resort like this that allows our 4 legged loved ones to stay. We're already looking for another trip to this terrific spot. Another note... You can feel completely safe at this resort. It's amazing how many entities are here to make the area clean and secure. We love O'side.

Yelp
2024 update (another stay at the same hotel): The hotel itself is decent. Nice view of the ocean if you get into a room with a view. Decent bell and front desk service. Nice looking pool and hot tub. Dog and kid friendly. Short walking area in front of the property as long as you arent out too late at night (it seems to get slightly sketchy a little past sunset on the street). The spa looks nice. But the breakfast experience, wow. It was a major negative given the quality of the property (3-4 star boutique hotel IMO). It caters to both the Seabird and Mission Pacific hotel next door, so that alone would cause congestion if all you want is a nice quiet omelette and coffee after you wake up. But getting breakfast here was super stressful: - The line stretched to almost the front door of the hotel by 9am on a Thursday morning, which is all the way across the lobby - If you are a Globalist, the card they give you states you get $40 credit but you have to go to the restaurant, so you cannot order room service and have to get in the line - Then, people in the line said you have to get reservations (like it is a hot/fancy neighborhood brunch place), and they said they got the reservation the night before. The server said they sometimes turn away "walk ins" - The place also serves the public, and Oceanside is a bit of a food desert, so apparently you are waking up, going downstairs, and fighting the public tourist crowd and the other hotel guests to eat breakfast - And to top it off, I got chilaquiles, eggs/pork (protein not included in the entree), and a coffee and it was $60. And I got attitude when one of the staff asked me to wait to talk to a host to get the required reservation to eat breakfast the following day, saying I had "only waited 8 minutes" (I waited 25-30 btw) The policy of no room service for Globalists (who mostly wont be a load usually on the table staff as many are busy and just grab to-go boxes, put their room number on the ticket with a tip and leave), along with asking guests from two hotels to go to one place for breakfast, while opening the same place to the public, and operating possibly short staffed, make the experience worse for hote guests. But hey, I guess they are maximizing the money the restaurant makes by having only one place for breakfast and seemingly not hiring enough people to operate it / overworking the staff.

Yelp
My husband and I did not stay at Seabird Resort but we tried their beautiful full service SPA, it was out of this word fantastic! I had the most relaxing and rejuvenating facial with Genua ( she is absolutely amazing) my husband had a massage which he loved as well. We will return

Mollie B.

Yelp
My husband and I chose the Seabird as our wedding venue in January of 2024, and from the first tour we took to the event itself in December, we had a great experience working with them. Rebecca was a fantastic resource, having overseen a ton of events at the hotel, and my planner Rachel (Tres Chic Affairs) had a great rapport with her which made everything so seamless and easy. Rebecca and the team were super open and flexible when it came to little things like having unique signature cocktails, being flexible with the food (which we got tons of positive feedback about! get the carrot soup!) and helping find space within the hotel itself for our first look. Our friends and family who stayed at the hotel for the weekend had nothing but great things to say about the experience. Would highly recommend the Seabird as a wedding venue and just as a beautiful hotel in Oceanside!

Yelp
This resort is beautiful! Accommodating in every way. Has all the amenities, friendly staff, down to the alkaline water provided. Stayed there 3 times now and never disappointed. Piper restaurant and buffet amazing!! So good! Disappointed that they stopped giving the heavy duty water bottles in the room to keep with seabird logo to refill with UW alkaline water. Bring those back!! Please... A big hooray for Victor and John in Valet whose cheeriness and speediness to get your car in and out was both fun and unexpected!! Way to go guys! Love this place..views of the pier, ocean so convenient.. Kelley Stayed Oct 27th, 2024

Yelp
As a Hyatt Globalist member, we were greeted with a room upgrade and guidance on how to maximize our credits. This meets standard for Hyatt brand. For our $40/p breakfast credit, we can use it towards al la carte or buffet by paying $10/p more. We opted for just al la carte and it's plenty of food and options. Upon checking out, we were told that we spend $3 over our breakfast credit limit and Luke was kind enough it waive it. The $3 is not a huge amount, but the hospitality and extra care by the hotel staff made this stay more positive overall. Luke also remembered when we checked in and the things we've discussed. Location: beautiful property very close to the beach and walking distance Total experience meets and exceeds expectation for the Category 6 Hyatt hotel.

Yelp
How can you beat a lovely, modern, clean, and well-decorated hotel steps away from the beach? Adults get complimentary sparkling wine upon check-in. The decor was perfect and set the mood for resort living and vacay-mode. If you want to park your car and never leave, you'll have plenty to do between the beach and on-property amenities. They have activities for the kids (one craft is complimentary, but others are pay to participate). The pool is small to medium size, but the view overlooks the beach and ocean below. If you plan on hanging out poolside and want seating next to the pool, you'll want to get there by 10 or 11am (after lunch, you'll be hard pressed to find a place and end up waiting for someone to leave). The area next to the pool is well decorated and very comfortable to hang out, order lunch and drinks, and relax. The food is good. While it's steps away from the beach, they have a service on the beach that will take your hotel key in exchange for a beach umbrella with chairs set up (they set it up for you - you get to pick the spot on the beach). Such nice service and this is what the resort fee goes towards - to me, that is worth every penny. You just have to return the stuff. Yes, their customer service is very friendly and helpful. Each person I came across was eager to serve. The location to other restaurants is spot on. Everything is walkable and not more than 9 minutes of walking. It's in a busy area and we felt completely safe. The only irritants if you are noise sensitive are the loud cars and motorcycles, but that's in any city. Having said that, the rooms were surprisingly quiet and filtered out the road noise (even with a balcony). The valet parking is a steep $47/night and an extra $20 to charge EV vehicles. We've found our beach vacation spot!

Yelp
Enjoy coming here awesome resort . Tons of accommodations we never have to hall our chairs or umbrellas . The resort set up for you on the beach. Then the pool at night .

Yelp
The place with perfect for a short get away! We hung out at the pool for the afternoon. Went to the beach for sunset. Watched the Polar express movie at the library after our dinner. Hot chocolate and popcorn were available during the movie. We even squeezed in time for s'mores by the fire pits to close out the night. Our girls getaway with my niece and daughter was a success! Highly recommend this hotel due to the location and many kid activities offered. The only thing I will save you money on is to skip the brunch! It is the worst hotel brunch selection for me since I love seafood during brunch. Overcooked salmon was the only seafood that was offered. Even my 8 year old and 5 year old niece were not impressed. They need to up their brunch game.

Yelp
The service is exemplary, the food was great and you can't beat the location! Every single staff member was a delight, even the valet drivers! We had the best room service burgers we've ever had anywhere, hands down and the movie night in the pool was awesome. They even had popcorn! We'll be back!

Yelp
We really liked the Seabird, though our views may be skewed because we got a pretty spectacular upgrade to a suite with a prime view of the ocean. If you're a Hyatt Globalist, elite recognition at this hotel seems pretty good. Our breakfast charges were almost entirely wiped off, we had no issues checking in early and obtaining a late check out, and we received a room upgrade beyond what is required by the World of Hyatt program (a "premium" suite). Of course, we were traveling during the slow season here, so occupancy didn't seem that high. The room itself was clean and spacious. We weren't fans of the reusable water bottles they gave us as they seemed cheap and the cap/seal started to fall apart during our stay. Valet was reasonably prompt though their driveway area is pretty small so during busy times it can definitely take some time to get your car. Overall, we thought this was a great hotel though with views like this it's hard not to be thrilled with your stay.

Yelp
I am saddened to have to post this but I feel there is no recourse as the hotel's hosts not only gave conflicting information but also misled us. And then they resort to the "there's nothing that can be done" excuse. This is our fourth time staying at either this resort or the sister property across the street. Each time we were treated well and felt like an appreciated loyal customer. Regardless if we came during peak season or not, we were either upgraded or given the room we requested. This time, they put us in a room facing a building even though we reserved an ocean view room, as we always do. I called the day before and at check in to confirm we would be overlooking the pool with a clear ocean view. We ended up in a room facing a building. Regardless of our complaint, they did not concede but simply said there was no other room that we could be moved to. It's unfortunate they would treat loyal customers this way, let alone Hyatt members who have also been loyal to the brand. It's a beautiful property at a great location, but I truly question the integrity of their guest services. Worst part is having to deal with this while we are supposed to be just relaxing and enjoying our milestone anniversary.

The accommodations and staff are top notch. We have stayed there now 3 times now and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay. The staff's warm greetings makes you feel at home. We have already booked our next stay there next April. This place is dog friendly. Highly recommend you stay here!

Yelp
This hotel is really all about its location near the beach and the nice pool. It caters to kids, while the sister hotel is more suitable for adults. The staff are all very nice, though most are young, but they all speak English, which is great for foreign guests. The decor is wonderful, and the firepits add a nice touch. The gym equipment is better than expected and sufficient. The towels in the rooms and sheets are of higher quality, more on the level of Kirkland quality. However, the surrounding area is somewhat rough, and the weekend crowd might not make most people feel safe. There is a heavy police presence, and every day, someone was getting arrested near the hotel. We were told it was once worse, so I can't imagine how bad it used to be. It was very hard to find a place that had vegan food or just not tacos, pizza, and beer. Carlsbad offers better food choices on a more diverse level. The things I didn't like about the hotel were that, despite being built in 2022, the place looks worn out. All the white and shiny chrome surfaces are dirty and full of handprints. The furniture is no better than higher-quality Ikea and is already showing wear. The showers have very low water pressure, so be prepared to spend extra time showering and still not feeling clean enough. A company took over the hotel during our stay, causing a 15-minute wait to get to our room as there are only two elevators. They also closed off most of the hotel for the company, which was wrong, as we couldn't use the amenities covered by our resort fee. They were also not staffed enough to handle the influx of people, which was evident as it seemed like it was their first time managing such a situation. Would I stay here again? Probably not, due to the hotel conditions and the people outside of the hotel. It's too bad, as the area is great without those two issues.

Yelp
Booked the Seabird for my wife's birthday from Sunday night through Monday via AMEX FHR. The room and facility was nice, but the service was abysmal, and the food was subpar. I'd much rather stay at the Mission Pacific if I ever came back to the area. Details below: Pros: Location is fantastic and steps away from the beach and dining options, oceanfront view is great Hotel is new and the room was nice, albeit somewhat smelly when we first arrived, but disappeared after we aired it out Piper had decent food and service Cons: Service here SUCKS. Communicated repeatedly on the reservation, prior to check-in via text, and in person for a pack and play crib, but didn't have one upon arrival. Had to call twice and wait over an hour for one to be sent up Food was cold and orders came out incorrectly; Mother's day breakfast was a fiasco also, and took 30 minutes to get a high-chair and over an hour for food. (Details RE: food below) Don't expect to get an upgrade for AMEX FHR or for them to even get you checked in timely, despite seeing wide availability days prior to my stay, no room upgrades were available, and my room was not ready until after 4:00pm (12:00 is an option for FHR bookings). Also had to remind them to take off the subpar breakfast charge when I checked out The hot tub heater was broken and was colder than the pool

Yelp
We enjoyed a staycation for our wedding anniversary at the seabird and it was a truly incredible experience. The service was great, our room was incredible (new and clean), the view was out of this world, and food was good. My only complaint was the night time movie night was SO loud it made it impossible to enjoy the patio from our room at night. I wanted to hear the sound of the waves and relax but it was insanely loud. Overall I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the amenities!! I also wish we brought our dog because the hotel and the neighboring restaurants are super dog friendly. Also I should add, if you have kids this is the place to be! If you're sans kids, go to the sister hotel next door for a more relaxing experience.

Yelp
This was our second stay here and this one was even better! We had the corner suite facing the water with bedroom 1.5 bathroom and living area. The balcony wrapped around the side and made for an amazing place to sit and watch the sunset. There was a separate tub from the shower to take a relaxing bath in at the end of the day. Variety of restaurants, bars, beach, and pier all in walking distance. Love that they are dog friendly!! Staff was very friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
Welcome to the Seabird Resort. This Hyatt hotel made it's debut to our ever growing and changing community of Oceanside. Taking its place near the pier. The Seabird reminds me of an East Coast boardwalk hotel. Cool grays, much wooden decor and cozy nooks throughout the property. It is really special in this way. Being the new kid on the block it has much to offer, We attended Yappy Hour at the Shore Room, had massages at Sunny's Spa and dined at Piper, each providing a new perspective. The Shelter Club on the rooftop has stunning views facing the ocean, it is hard to beat. However, the magic is gone, when you see the pool is over run by six to twelve year olds. The most offensive observation were watching the kids hoarding and playing in the hot tub. I would strongly suggest they have a separate section with some strong chemicals in place. Note: I will write separate reviews for the different services and amenities we tried, some quite noteworthy. Now if pet friendly labels did not come with a $250 pet fee. #Oceanside #Hyatt #TheSeabird # HotTubsAreForAdultsKids

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for two nights in October for our anniversary and we LOVED it. This is probably the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen and it has so much character. Every detail in the decor and structure of the room is extremely methodical and well thought-out. They even give you two reusable water bottles in your room to fill with filtered alkaline water located by the ice dispenser. Staying here truly seems like you are staying at a resort and you wouldn't have to leave if you didn't want to. However, the location is incredible for walking to a bunch of cool restaurants, the beach, outdoor activities, etc. We did not eat here, but there are a few restaurant options and a beautiful bar. We did take advantage of the hotel gym and it's probably the nicest hotel gym I've ever seen. I can't wait to return and have already recommended it to many others.

Yelp
This is such a serene place to relax and pamper yourself. Last night we enjoyed Noriko's sound healing in the spa. She is very gentle and thoughtful and plays the healing bowls so beautifully. I highly recommend stopping in if you are a local or booking a stay and including Noriko's sound bath on Tuesdays.

Yelp
Cute hotel, I liked how it was right by the water, and had a lot of eateries nearby. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The rooms were kinda small and I'm always disappointed when there's no microwave in a room. I like tea, and when they only offer a keurig style pot, and no microwave I can't enjoy my tea. Overall, enjoyed my stay.

Yelp
Great location, nicely appointed rooms. I like the multiple dining options. However, the management team needs to review appropriate behavior with the front desk. I was initially impressed but had a less than appropriate or acceptable interaction with the front desk trying to get a copy of my bill. Surprising behavior from a Hyatt resort.

Yelp
We were looking for a resort close to Legoland to stay. We had never been to Oceanside and the reviews for Seabird and Mission Pacific were outstanding. They are correct that Seabird is geared towards families. The library has plenty of space and board games. The on site restaurant Piper and Shore Bar are fantastic to relax at. The best part is the Decor which was all a wonderful beachside resort theme. I hope we get another opportunity to visit. Nikki was at the checkin counter and provided wonderful suggestions for dining and sites to see all around the resort. Some tips: The second floor is accessible by stairs and is convenient. The hotel provides water stations to fill up your bottles. The pool is heated. Dominos is a 10 minute walk away if you want to just eat in. Chrome cast works seamlessly for putting videos on the big screen. On site parking is valet only, but they are quick to get your vehicle.

Yelp
Came here for our baby moon and everything was spectacular. We booked with points and were offered an ocean view upgrade at check in. Service was delightful and the suite was spacious with two bathrooms and a beautiful ocean view. The noice of the train wasn't too bad. We had an included breakfast which had a lot of variety and was delicious. The pool was beautiful with a nice view. Valet attendants were kind and helpful (were able to charge my ev upon request). We stayed the weekend if a wedding and it was fun to watch the set up! Very highly recommend for a staycation!

Yelp
Wow what a place....This place is really something....so beautiful..... Downtown Oceanside has changed ....upscale hotels, restaurants and retail stores.... I loved this hotel...my kids & grandkids stayed here and we met them for brunch at Piper... then took the kids to the 3rd floor pool... overlooking the ocean... Parking is valet or paid parking if you can find one... Absolutely beautiful !!!

Yelp
Went to spend the day at Seabird Spa. Mostly to take the sound meditation class at the end of our stay. Noriko is friendly and welcoming she plays the bowls beautifully. By the end of the meditation, all your stress is melted away. It was my husband's first time experiencing this type of meditation and he really enjoyed it. Thank you, Noriko. Will definitely come back. Elizabeth A

Yelp
Absolutely one of the best resort in Oceanside. This resort was close to everything. Top notch customer service from check in to room service, evening was pleasant. They upgraded my room to ocean view and loved the view. Waking up in the morning with wave crashing as my Mother Nature alarm clock was pleasant. I absolutely loved their robes. Please Seabirds, can you please give me one. I also enjoyed their library and their gym was nice. Highly recommend this place!!!!!

Yelp
Wow what a beautiful property ! As a professional Facilities Manager I usually find several things wrong or out of place with a property. Well I am happy to report I couldnt find anything wrong with the place. The staff was extremely kind and helpfull. The room was spacious and cleen, the views were awesome. The only thing off was the shower water temp wasnt hot ,but thats probably because I showered 1/2 hour before checkout, maybe everyone used it all up. But it was warm water so thats ok. I would reccomend staying here a checking out the place yourself.

Yelp
Greg was the best bellman in the world!!! We stayed there for my bestfriends wedding and he was so attentive, kind & professional! We moved hotels & he was kind enough to bring all of our luggage in the cart to our new hotel, next door & even brought it up to your room. Would definitely be back because of his 5 star service!

Yelp
It's a pretty resort and we liked being able to walk everywhere downtown oside. The location is prime, but unfortunately as a couple it's not the most romantic, quiet getaway. Plus they have hidden fees they do not tell you about upon booking. The front desk claimed they were "incidentals" when we checked in- but we never got our money back for it. We booked a king suite/partial ocean view, but it was facing the pool. The kids were super loud all day long. Forget trying to read a book on the balcony or listen to the waves. Listen we love kids! But it was abnormally loud. We think because it's tucked away the sound echoes off the building? Also in the morning we tried to order coffee to our room and they said it would take 45 min. Thought that was a bit silly.

Yelp
We had some friends come in and stay here. They were very happy with the hotel and the service. The rooms are great. The spa is wonderful. It's right across from the beach and the pier is a short walk away (about 5 minutes).

Yelp
We enjoyed our time at this resort. Staff were welcoming and friendly, our room was beautiful and comfortable, and the pools were both great (you get access to the seabird pool and their sister hotel rooftop pool across the street). The only downside is their restrictive brunch hours, with the Piper restaurant that closes promptly at 12:00 pm on the weekends. Due to this lack of knowledge, we were not able to enjoy their brunch as we showed up at 12:15 pm on a Saturday. I almost cried when we were turned away, because it looked amazing. Our room had a view of the ocean with a nice balcony. We also had great blackout curtains, comfortable bed and pillows, and nice little drinks and snacks. Their coffee machine was broken, but they brought us a new one very quickly which was great. The bathroom was also spacious with a separate toilet area, and a lighted makeup mirror. The shower included a rainfall style as well as a traditional wand type shower head. I loved how they also included full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel inside the shower. They also had a drybar hair dryer! We also loved the cozy robes and slippers to relax. The gym was amazing, right by the pool. The newest treadmills and high quality weights. I also appreciated the fresh towels and water. They also have a peloton bike. They offer workout classes if you get there early (workout classes are in different parts of the hotel, and also at the hotel across the street). Wish they had given me more info when I checked in, because I would've showed up to one of these classes. The restaurants were nice- the shore room and the poolside restaurant had great offerings. My one complaint about this resort, and the reason for the 4 stars, is the hours of their weekend brunch buffet at Piper. It only goes from 7 am to 12 pm. We didn't know these hours (wish we had been told when we checked in!!!) and were turned away when we showed up at 12:15 pm on a Saturday. They were nice to us, but I was oh so sad. If I had only known, I would've gotten up a little earlier. Most brunch places on the weekends last until 2 pm. So if you want brunch here, get up early and also try to get a reservation. Areas for improvement- please provide information at check-in about the strict brunch hours, the additional offerings of gym classes with a schedule, and anything else we might not have discovered that would've been useful to know (there was a painting class that occurs on Friday nights at the hotel, but I only heard about that by eavesdropping in the bathroom). Seems like guests will miss out on a lot of fun experiences (and brunch!!) without the help and assistance of the staff. Please give us the information so we can enjoy everything you have to offer!

Yelp
Wow! We just stayed one night at the Seabird Hotel and were literally blown away. The hotel is beautiful, we love the vibe and the decor. The front desk service is outstanding. The gentleman explained everything clearly and helped us made dinner reservation at the onsite restaurant, which was very busy. Our room has a partial ocean view on the 5th floor overseeing the pool area. The room is spacious, clean, and has a sophisticated feel to it. The balcony is very nice. Everything in the room wows me, like the bathrobes with seabirds stitching. Even the water bottles and paper cups have seabird prints on them. The beds are very comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Piper Restaurant. The food, drinks and services were all outstanding. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. It truly is a very nice hotel with top-notch services and amenities.

Yelp
Nice rooms. Kinda small but clean. Patio was a foot deep. But could still hear, see and smell the ocean. Pool restaurant was very expensive. I had the blueberry lemonade slush which was amazing but $17.....what?! Valet staff was amazing. Very accommodating for our small fridge with breast milk in it when we checked out but didn't leave until late afternoon. I would return but for that price (about $400 a night) I would only go again if the company paid again.

Yelp
Don't recommend! The area isn't quite what we thought a lot of homeless in the area. Seabird is not worth the price you pay a night. NOT a clean facility (hair everywhere, dirty pool area.) beds are extremely uncomfortable, Piper is way overpriced with very little options on the menu, bar drinks are 3/10.
