The West End’s Best Meals Under $20

"There’s a lot going on with Lil Baby’s new seafood spot on MLK. He’s got a reservation-suggested dining room wallpapered in imagery of the ATL skyline, a downstairs lounge with hookah, and a takeout shop up front. The latter is where you should focus if you’re in a fiscally responsible mood. The fried fish combo might be $13.99, but the whiting has a good, cornmeal-y batter and the fry portion is generous. The 10-piece fried shrimp ($12.99) is also priced fairly, considering the sizable pieces you get. If you’re not feeling like fries, sub them for buttery corn on the cob. It’ll take 20 minutes for your order, so bide your time with a strawberry frozen lemonade ($4)." - demarco williams, nina reeder, jacinta howard

Celebrity-Owned Restaurants You Should Know

"Celebrity: Lil Baby Lil Baby's seafood restaurant on MLK is all over the place. You have a takeout shop upfront that fills with hungry locals, a dining room wallpapered in imagery of the ATL skyline and music icons, and a downstairs lounge with hookah. Uneven service cause pause, but a decently priced menu of steamed (well-seasoned shrimp) and fried catches (golden whiting) saves the day. Still, snow crabs dipped in jerk butter are the flavor-bursting star of the show." - nina reeder, juli horsford, demarco williams

At Atlanta’s New Vibe Restaurants, Hospitality Isn’t Always Included - Eater Atlanta

"Today, that building is the home of the Seafood Menu, owned by Atlanta rapper Lil Baby. It opened in July 2023, offering lamb chops for $43 per plate, and the reviews have probably not been what the superstar hip-hop act had hoped, particularly concerning service. “Prices were great if the food matched in quality but the price didn’t seem to add up in the end,” said Google reviewer Miz Krickett. And San Francisco Yelp user Lynette J. said she dined at the Seafood Menu while visiting Atlanta but was similarly unimpressed in terms of value. “After paying nearly $85 for two orders and an a la carte item, I’m kind of pissed.”" - Mike Jordan

The Seafood Menu Review - West End - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"We don’t know what line best rhymes with “I wanna sell lamb chops too, damnit,” but Lil Baby says it with the opening of this MLK Drive seafood restaurant. There’s a lot going on here: a takeout shop upfront that’s already filling with hungry locals, a reservation-suggested dining room wallpapered in imagery of the ATL skyline and music icons, and a downstairs lounge with hookah. Faulty bathrooms, a silverware shortage, and uneven service could ruin the show, but a decently priced menu of steamed (well-seasoned shrimp) and fried catches (golden whiting) saves the day. Still, snow crabs dipped in jerk butter are the flavor-bursting headliner. " - DeMarco Williams

My husband and I visited this establishment on a Wednesday evening. Walking in the restaurant, the decor was nice. I really liked how the takeout area was in the front, separated from the dine-in area. We had reservations, but upon arrival no one even asked about the reservation. The individual taking the to-go orders told us to speak with her manager to be seated. After waiting awhile the manager walked us to the back and sat us at our table. Side bar: the servers all had on matching black outfits, but other individuals working there were walking in and out with regular street clothes on (shorts, hoodies, hats, crocs; etc) making it hard to decipher who was actually employed there. Our server was super sweet. She took our order and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They were out of all of the frozen lemonade so we ended up just getting sodas to drink smh. My husband got fried fish and I ordered fried shrimp and also Cajun butter steamed shrimp. The fried options were on point. The steamed shrimp were horrible. The taste was off. I can’t even explain it. I literally tried one shrimp and didn’t eat anymore. I gave 3 stars for the nice environment, our server’s attentiveness, and the taste of the fried options. We are going to wait until it’s been open a while before we try again. Hopefully by then all of the kinks have been worked out.

Google
The place looked nice. Our server was very personable and helpful with suggestions. The sauces are amazing. We had the hot honey mixed with jerk on one plate. We had just honey hot on the other. The shrimp was big and fresh. Also, Crab cluster + 6 shrimp + corn and potato for $17.99 is a great price...so..yea. My only complaint is that the crab legs tasted like those box crabs at Walmart. They weren't giving fresh 🤷🏾‍♀️ I don't know how to explain it. With all the sauce, they weren't terrible though.

AFFORDABLE fresh seafood with some of the best authentic sauces of I’ve ever tasted. (Lemon pepper was my fav) Stays open late. Large carry out area. Reservations are recommended to minimize long wait times. Clean decor. Soso, our waitress, was efficient very nice and handled a large group easily. They give gloves, wet naps, and bibs! Pop (soda) served in cans. Newly opened a couple weeks ago so be patient while they make this restaurant a go to for years to come.

Food was good ! S/O to our server SoSo! She made us feel welcome and gave advice on what to order ! It was our first time. Not to mention the blue lemonade was delicious. We had a group of 6.

Google
The seafood boil was way too salty. The decor was uninspired what the theme of the restaurant is im still confused on. Our server was sweet but she was the only person working the floor and bar. I'll give it another try since they just got a liquor license, maybe it'll be better. I was really excited about this place because I'm a Lil baby fan. Hopefully next time it's better.

Visiting from St.Louis, we made this our first stop. The restaurant had just opened at 12pm and on time I might add! However, when we asked for dine-in, the cashier had to find and ask the manager if it was ok for us to be seated because we didn’t have a reservation. We did look at the website before coming and it does not say anywhere that a reservation was needed. When the manager came, we were seated! Yayyy!!! The restaurant is very nice. Décor was bright and seating was very comfortable. Our waitress Dishauna was super friendly and very informative. She suggested her favorite sauces for our meal. We wanted to order drinks from the bar but she told us that the bar was completely sold out because of the busy opening 5 days ago. (I’m surprised that they didn’t have another liquor delivery knowing how busy the restaurant was going to be) We then ordered slushies, of the five options, only two were available, changing our choices. The drinks came in plastic slushy cups which in my opinion, looking at the restaurant ambiance, should be served in the same glasses the water was in. However, they were fruity and delicious. My daughter and I do not eat meat or seafood but really wanted to support Lil Baby so we only ordered fries, potatoes and corn with the sauce our waitress recommended. My sister ordered the shrimp with corn and potatoes. All three meals arrived to the table on plates, luke warn, juicy and bland. We had to ask for glove and the bib. We probably should have complained and addressed it there but I don’t like to send food back so we didn’t…. Once we cut the potatoes open and put the sauce on them and the corn, it was much better. I don’t go to seafood restaurants but was told that it should’ve been served in bags and maybe that’s why the seasoning hadn’t soaked into the food. We got to-go containers and brought it all back to the hotel where it taste much better the next morning. The fries were hot and deliciously seasoned. The restroom was out of order and we were told by the waitress that we could go to the building next door. There was unclean rap music playing when we first arrived which we didn’t personally mind but there were also kids and a few older customers that they should have cleaned it up for. Someone from the back noticed it about 20 minutes into our visit and let them know to change it. The change was some nice RnB. Overall experience was just ok, I will continue to read reviews and hope to return on my next visit to ATL.

Google
The Seafood Menu is such a great restaurant/bar-lounge in Atlanta. The location is good because the restaurant is around local college students. The prices are amazing and affordable! Boy oh boy, not to mention the delicious taste And freshness of the food. The food came out QUICK too and cooked-through! Our waitress / Server Elana was courteous, friendly and professional! She took her time to tend to us and make sure that we were satisfied with everything. And she is also attentive! I would most definitely be returning to this establishment! Especially once they get their liquor license! It’s going to be even more amazing 😻

I expected better but it’s not horrible but mediocre. I prefer excellence when I go out to eat because I cook great myself and want to experience something different and better. The cleanliness of the crab legs was non existent and they were extremely small. The floor leading to the kitchen was filthy and they only had limited flavors of can sodas with no refill(s) and I do not drink sodas but I had no choice. The garlic butter sauce was okay but I also like my sauce much better. The staff was very polite, accommodating, and courteous. Prices were great if the food matched in quality but the price didn’t seem to add up in the end but it was paid for without question or a receipt. I wish the best success but it’s not a gotta go back establishment for me. Glad I had the opportunity to try it though.

Yelp
We found this new restaurant on TokTok and decided to give it a try. We're also huge fans of the rapper who owns it. We went midday, it wasn't extremely busy as we thought. We were greeted and sat within a few minutes after arriving. The interior is well decorated and aesthetically pleasing. Our waitress was pleasant and extremely accommodating. There were some items listed on the menu that they didn't actually have at the time. We did keep in mind that the restaurant just recently debuted, we didn't make a huge fuss about it. The fish and fries were good. Our seafood boils were okay not the best. I believe with more time, improvements will be made and we can't wait to visit again sometime in the future!

Yelp
Today was a total change for the "Grandma and Grandson day". We heard over the radio that Atlanta native rapper Lil Baby, was having a grand opening today for his seafood restaurant. Immediately my grandson asked was the restaurant here. Needless to say he wanted to go. Lil Baby is one of his favorite rappers. So of course I had to try to make his summer, by taking him to try to see or get a pic with Lil Baby. We got there it was a line but not too bad. There was a guy outside what I thought was selling flavored icy cups. But it was a delight and very nice gesture of Lil Baby to have had paid for everyone to have something cool while standing in line waiting to get in the restaurant. The icy's was from #Mrblastyicy, they where pretty dang good too. While waiting R&B singer Akon came out. And of course my grandson didn't have NOOOOOO idea who this man was. BUT I DID!!!! I quickly pushed my grandson over to him so I could ask him to take a pic. He was very nice and spoke to my grandson then took several pictures with him. Grandson was completely clueless :/. Afterwards we got in the door. Coming into the restaurant you see the restaurant logo on the wall to the right and on the left wall its the Infamous faux grass with the white neon wordings. I don't know who came up with this faux grass wall idea, but they have made a killing. Ughhhh!!! I thought once we got in the restaurant Lil Baby would be inside greeting his fans and to take pics. Noooo..... he was in the back bar area. My grandson was disappointed because we wasn't there to order food. We had a whole day planned out. But trying to represent our black businesses especially our young black businesses. I ordered food. Now let's get to it. Seeing that today was a ribbon cutting grand opening. That's what V-103 radio personalities said. It's was to be expected to be crowded and a wait for your food, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WAS THERE FOR. I placed my order for the menu item #4 which is the 20pc shrimp 2 corns and 2 potatoes. Waiting a total of about over an hour that's including the line to get in and my food. Lil Baby never came up front to see his fans/customers. I saw the disappointment in my grandson face after he was told he couldn't go to the back to see his favoriter rapper. That area was just for friends and family. So I decided to ask for a refund of my order at this point. Coming to the counter I almost slipped on the melted icy juice that was all over the floor. I told the young lady to tell Lil Baby "if he didn't want a law suite on his first day of opening, he need to have you guys clean up spills on the floor". Lord and behold who appeared shortly? Lil Baby. A guy half ass cleaned the floor he didn't pick up any of the cups from people having the icy's. Lil Baby came to the front but seems like he only spoke to people he might have known and was on his phone. And for some reason he put up a curtain, i guess to block customers from seeing the cluster FU%$ that was going on in the kitchen. He disappeared again to the back. A manager never came to refund my money. I believe someone told Lil Baby that people was asking for a refund because of how long it was taking. They was jumping all over customers order numbers nothing was called in sequence. Everyone seemed a bit overwhelmed with the whole thing. Again, Lil Baby came up and THEN he took a few pictures. My grandson was in heaven. We followed him outside to try to take more pics. We back inside and now my order was ready. So I thought. I didn't even look in it until I walked back to car. What was supposed to be a 20pc steamed shrimp was only 10. Here we go GEEESSSHHH! Walked back to the restaurant and show the ticket and the food. I can say the counter employee was very nice and hospitable. The young lady apologized about the mix up and the gentleman in the back also was very apologetic for mixing up my order. Now, we left and I had to try these shrimps once I got I the car. They hot and buttery. My flavor of chose was Garlic buttery and Lemon Zest Butter(lemon pepper). Ok the shrimp was cooked very well and very very buttery. But I order flavors. All I got was black pepper. I didn't taste any garlic or lemon. Even my grandson asked about the lemon pepper. All in all this was for my grandson dson to see one of his favorite atl rappers. The food was an after thought. The mix up will not keep me from visiting again. I just blame it on an overwhelming day. But I will say to Lil Baby, I wish you would have came out more to see your young fans. And maybe he did before we even got there. But all in all I like Lil Baby and I wish him and very successful restaurant. Again I will be back and I highly recommend for people to go and check him out. And support the black owned businesses.

Yelp
The food was fresh and everything was well seasoned. I ordered through Door Dash because the parking is difficult.

Yelp
Our first visit to this restaurant in ATL and we have mix reviews ... First our greeting to the restaurant was warm and very welcoming. Second the food was tasty it was great BUT WHEN WE WERE seated our waitress Mika was a cynical, snooty, smart ass that never checked on us, we continuously had to ask for the condiments, then she messed up the bill and had a negative tone as if it was our fault and was not expecting me to ask for my refund my thing is if you didn't want to work stay home or get another job. This place is too nice for her attitude. I would give a 5 star BUT SHE took that away from the business.

Yelp
I don't know what everyone else talking about my experience was with Uber was great food well seasoned and still hot ordering again fish and shrimp prices are fair real fair. Milton and Ashanti did their mf thang in the kitchen tonight. I look forward to in-person dining.

Yelp
I ordered the catfish and shrimp and whiting and shrimp, and fries . Every thing was good. The music was too loud for my ole ears. ;-). I heard about The Seafood Menu after they met with our NPU, and immediately went to check them out. I'll be back.

Carol A.

Yelp
Really disappointed!!! We are from Harlem NYC- My granddaughter wanted to go to lil Baby restaurant, and we flew out made the trip. To our surprise the restaurant was closed me and my daughter were sorry for her. The site claimed they were open. We of course made the best of our trip lenox mall and Aquarium and few other places. Lol of course, we heard gunshots too since it's in the hood we expected it we understand. Make sure your website is accurate since people may visit from out of town.

Yelp
I live in California and tried this pace amazing and lil baby owns this place even better wow dope spot I love it and be the first to comment

Btm R.

Yelp
Food was awful service was 3/10 even the soda was flat. They need to go back to the drawing board and definitely hire new staff. Here is a picture of the food I received compared to the picture on their instagram.

Brittney C.

Yelp
Customer Service Sucks !!!! He needs to check the staff that is being hired . I'm sure he has no idea how unprofessional the people working at his business is

Rob B.

Yelp
Food was great and presented well. Service was alright we had a really nice server but they were a little understaffed so she was running the register and serving us

Charlotte S.

Yelp
Shout out to Jalen (Waitress) and Keauera (Host) they had great customer service.. My son and I enjoyed the vibe... also, the food was hot and great! We will be going back once they get liquor license. Great job! Dominique Charlotte

Monica P.

Yelp
I was highly disappointed. Definitely pedestrian . Forgot to take pics. Food was overcooked and bland. The broccoli was so soft and light skinned. It was beige. I didn't even chew the broccoli. You can tell that one ear of corn had been cut up at least 10 times and it was hard. The butter was even bland. One of the crab leg clusters was a decent size and the other one was puny. The butter was sad, tasteless and boring. I had to make my own garlic lemon pepper butter. You need to add some actual garlic and seasoning that looks like the picture. The sauce looked a little bit like.... well I won't be gross. Definitely a catfish. To go orders don't look anything like the pics I've seen. Please do better.

Jerome C.

Yelp
the food was ok it wasn't all that. Was expecting more their bar wasn't even open, also the frozen drinks was terrible. It wasn't even frozen it was icy !!! The waitress was high as hell . So disappointing Thebaby please do better.

Yelp
I went here after i ordered on Uber eats. I ordered 2 clusters shrimp combo with a frozen lemonade. I drove there in 20 minutes. I got there and the person that is supposed to be at the register is also the waitress I'm guessing. It smells like weed in there. She walks by i tell her hey I'm picking up my order and I'd like to order more corn she says ok. I then wait another 25 minutes for her to come back to tell me they don't have any crab clusters. I say ok and I'm thinking she has the rest of my order. She doesn't. She says oh well i can add extra shrimp in it after i tell her im picking up my own order for the 2nd time. I ask her so you don't have any of my order made she says no. So i ask what they were doing for the last 30 minutes at this point in the back. She's like oh well you can add the shrimp or cancel. I cancelled and had about 35 minutes of time plus a 20 minutes drive wasted. I won't be coming here ever again what a waste.

Lynnette J.

Yelp
I was in town visiting Atlanta and heard about Little Baby's restaurant opening. I was highly disappointed. My order had to be redone, and still, I was missing lobster on one order and and snow crab claws on another. I have attempted to call this restaurant ever since I left and have been unable to reach them. After paying nearly $85 for two orders and an à la cart item, I'm kind of pissed. I still have not been able to reach anyone over the phone.

Pretty L.

Yelp
I ordered the #5 and a strawberry lemonade not any of it was good. And it was no lemonade so u only could choose sprite or Ginger ale no flavor at all not even the cup of sauce was good. And if management reads this please refund my money like you said thank you

Yelp

Yelp
Food was great, great atmosphere. Service was quick , everyone had great personalit. I love it.

Suless B.

Yelp
The food was actually good :) I didn't like the area it was located in and they didn't serve drinks because they didn't have liquor license yet but overall the ambiance was nice and the service was excellent.

Patricia R.

Yelp
The food is delicious. Well seasoned . The price was great. Wait time less than 15 minutes. New place clean , nice decor.

Keira R.

Yelp
Phenomenal lunch! everything was delicious and hot! Our server was great her name was Janisha (I think) and the food came out quick! def will come back! my son said it's the best seafood he's ever had lol

Jakarra O.

Yelp
Service & the food was good. The food took about twenty minutes which wasn't a bad wait at all. The music & overall atmosphere was overall pretty good.

Yelp
NOT RECOMMENDED... After hearing about this place on Keith Lee's Tik Tok I decided to give it a try (especially being celebrity owned) when my sister came to in town to visit. Plus being from New England we love seafood. It was worth venturing into the hood...Or so we thought. I need this info to get to Lil Baby. I am sure he has no idea this is happening. Lets just say anyone that eats crab knows you not only need a bucket, but you also need tools!!!!!! Support black business, does not mean I should be expected to eat my crab legs without a nut cracker!!! Sorry but these pearlie whites cost too much! Not a cracker, mallet or pick in the entire place is what we were told. Shame on them. And when we asked to speak to the manager a woman presenting herself as the manager who could only say "There's nothing I can do about it" had a really uncaring messed up attitude. ok, so give us our money back since we can not each our crab. Sorry all sales are final and you WILL pay the 18% gratuity automatically added to your bill. OH, and no liquor license yet! So forget those great cocktails.WHAT?! As for ambiance..They had 4 televisions and a sound system: none of whch were on! Just a stark semi empty room with tables, until another patron requested them be on. HUH?! Finally, because I don't want to make this too long, I'll skip to the most important thing. Not mouse or rats or anything that bad...but no one wants to eat anything that they have to shoo knats way from! Talk about health department violation!!! Not just a few either. They swamped around my not so frozen strawberry lemonaide. Yes, I'm leaving out a few things..I'm not doing this to bash. Just be fore warned. And hopefully true management will see this and make the necessary adjustments those at our reknown HBUs community deserve. **I took my lemon garlic butter legs and my fried shrimp to go. Pity because the food was actully real good. Thus a 2 rather than a 1. The experience was so poor we are due an apology plus. Do better guys...we deserve better!

Labrille M.

Yelp
first time visiting. lamb chop dinner was great, the fried shrimp were a great size, fried and seasoned well. only down fall is that it took over 60 minutes to receive our food. the first waitress either was too busy or forgot about us Lol, but Ms. Deshuana clocked in and helped us out ASAP ! once ordered after 60 min wait, food came in 15 mins after Ms. Deshauna placed our order ! PROMOTE HER ! today lol
