The Second City New York Mainstage

Super fun show! I saw an improv/sketch comedy show and all the actors were well rehearsed and hilarious. Seating was comfortable and there probably wasn’t a seat in the house with a bad view. Cocktails were a little pricey but I enjoyed a couple beers for $7-8. Wait staff was nice and speedy. The tickets are very much worth the show. Will definitely be coming again!

I’m a big Second City fan, being a sketch and improv person myself and having lived in Chicago for a number of years. I was very excited to make The Second City New York a part of my recent travel plans! Though, it’s much smaller than Chicago’s megaplex, they maintain the same atmosphere and the food/drink menu makes you feel like you’re having the experience in Chicago. The mainstage setup is pretty intimate with being a bit smaller. As for the show. Listen, people. This was the best mainstage revue I’ve seen over the years and that’s a high bar to hit. It was very Second City in style but very New York and 2024 in tone. I felt they were a little edgier with their language and more experimental with their half improvised half scripted audience participation bits. I had a blast. It was one of those shows that makes you wish you lived there to see more and as a performer, it was one of those shows you’d love to be a part of. Kudos to the cast, crew, and staff of The Second City NYC!

A beautiful venue with fantastic comedy. The show was truly top tier but it IS expensive for what it is. Given the great amount of comedy you can get in this city for considerably less, it might be hard to justify returning until/unless they decrease their ticket prices to be more consistent with other NYC shows.

The best of the second city show was so funny!! The cast had such a good chemistry, every person brought their own unique flare and so fun to watch. The show is a couple hours long but honestly feels like 5 mins. Highly recommend

I lived in Chicago for a few years and loved going to the Second City shows there. So I was naturally very excited they expanded to NYC! The comedy sketches are just as clever and fun as prior shows, but they have a relatable New York twist to them. They have full service to a bar/food menu so you can enjoy a dinner and a show. Ticket prices are very reasonable for a night out in the city…a perfect activity for the fall and winter.

Was super excited when this venue opened as obviously the original location is the place of legends, so had been wanting to come for some time. We saw a show on a Saturday night with a short opener and it was overall a great time. The beers were pretty cheap and the bar pretty accessible before the show. The crowd inside was intimate (not sure if the other spaces are as small) with a variety of seating options. Overall, excited to come back for another comic.

Cool new spot on the block that focuses on sketch and improv comedy - having been to both the Chicago and New York locations, I’m convinced improv isn’t for me as I couldn’t enjoy many of the attempts at humor. Sketch segments on the other hand were more consistently good, with some misses along the way. Ticket prices are confusing as they seemed to only have 1-2 value tickets online but the venue seemed to have lots of space for the value seats. Beer pitchers are good value though!

Great comedy club, the people we saw were hilarious. Good establishment, allow lots of time for parking if you come by car, it's a busy neighborhood.
