Absolutely loved The Select in Charleston South Carolina. We were thrilled to find out they are opening one in Charlotte!! The owner David came around! He was super friendly and engaging. Our server Ali was the star of the show! Super fun, knew the menu and gave us top notch service!!! The food and drinks were incredible. They had a great cocktail menu and wine list by the glass and bottle. The ginger margarita was delicious. So refreshing and full of flavor. We ordered a whole bunch of appetizers, mains and sides. Lobster arancini was crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The tuna tataki was a special. Perfectly cooked and came with crisps and avocado. The baguette tasted like we were in Paris. The wedge salad might have been the best I’ve ever had. Delicious homemade blue cheese dressing. So fresh and crispy! And the bacon was fire! The Caesar was also fresh and full of Parmesan. The only thing we didn’t like were the duck meatballs. They were very dry. Our meals were also top notch - Miso sea bass was perfect, the wild boar rags was al dente and full of meat and flavor. The trout was also delicious. Sides were so fantastic- Mac and cheese with bacon, umami fries were crispy and saucy, the Brussels were cooked perfectly with tons of flavor. Dessert was also incredible- the toffee pudding had a perfect consistency, the cheesecake was creamy and had a delicious thick graham cracker crust and the chocolate cake (chefs kiss)…. Will definitely come back when I’m in town.

We went for my Moms Birthday last night and the food was amazing! I had the blue crab dip which was amazing and had alot of meat. Also the braised short ribs which was really tender and had alot of flavor. The ceviche also had alot of flavor and was amazing. Drinks were really good definitely worth the money ! Our server was super nice and helpful. Atmosphere was really nice, I enjoyed listening to the gentleman playing the saxophone. I would definitely go again !

One of the best dining experiences in downtown Charleston. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The drinks are versatile and tasty. Decent variety of food options. The duck meatballs and octopus were so delicious. The braised short ribs were tender and some of the tastiest I have ever had. The ambiance and aesthetics of this place is too beautiful! Plus they gave me a free dessert for my birthday, that's always a plus.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at The Select. The food was delicious! We had the French onion soup, the burger, the linguini with shrimp, Brussels sprouts, and the cheesecake. I know, it was a lot. The soup was so rich and salty(in a good way). The only criticism I have was the linguini. It needed more salt, acid, and spice, but still very good. Also the tomatoes in there were acidic, almost pickled. But apparently they were confid? Our waitress Jocelyn was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back!

I wish Google would allow me to give a higher star rating. We visited The Select Charleston restaurant a few days into the new year, so the Christmas decorations were still up. The ambiance was absolutely stunning! I have no idea how they were able to put the Christmas trees upside-down on the ceiling, but it was certainly a beautiful sight. We did not have a reservation but were warmly welcomed to sit at the  comfortable L-shaped high table couch near the bar. Since this was our first time at this restaurant, we had a lot of questions. The waitstaff was incredibly patient, hospitable, kind. It did not take long for our food to come out. I ordered the Grilled Broccolini, the Hot Blue Crab Dip, and the Roasted Chicken. Each dish was absolutely delicious! The portion size was more than enough. It was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. I was amazed at the amount of crab meat I received in the Hot Blue Crab Dip. To top off the night,  a live band started playing as we finished our meal, making this dinner date even more enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend it!

The service was excellent—attentive and friendly throughout our meal. We were a group of four, and with only three other tables occupied, everything moved smoothly. That said, I’m not sure how the pace or atmosphere might change when the restaurant is at full capacity. The spare ribs were cooked to perfection: tender and falling off the bone. They were a bit heavy on the salt, but still very enjoyable overall. The strawberry burrata salad was a surprise—it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but it turned out to be a pleasant twist. The burrata itself was incredibly fresh and practically melted in your mouth. As for the drinks, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the one I ordered—but that may be because I had a specific flavor profile in mind that it just didn’t match. However, the Bird of Paradise is a definite standout. It’s a must-try, especially for your more persnickety friends who are hard to impress. Oh, and have your camera ready—trust me. LOL Overall, a solid experience with some memorable highlights. I’d be happy to return and try more from the menu.

Food was delicious- French onion soup was one of the best I had and the Brussels sprouts + duck meatballs were super interesting and tasty. Others in my party really enjoyed the salmon dish. Signature cocktail was ok, and our waitress was a little slow on a Saturday night for a larger group of us.
