The Selkirk SW17

Big, spacious pub, extremely busy. We came in for a roast, which was pretty solid with generous portions. The fish and chips was a bit average – the chips could have been crispier, same with the fish a touch too oily, maybe it was sitting there for a bit. The sticky toffee pudding was also very good. Service was slow, but it felt like both the kitchen and floor staff were doing a great job considering how many seats they had to cover. It did feel super hectic. Overall, a good local option.

Lovely pub! Came for drinks and ended up eating as the food looked lovely. Came quickly, good fish and chips and roast was generous portion, only thing was half a chicken was only a leg but was still plenty of food Nice outdoor area too

My daughters and son in law had their baby shower upstairs here, what a fab place. The food was spot on, the waitress we had was so lovely too. Would realy recommend.

Cosy, friendly pub. Well decorated with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good if a bit pricey compared to other pubs in south London that I've visited. There was an additional 15% service charge for the food which I thought was a little bit cheeky as it was added without consultation. I've never paid that before in a pub. Better to check first with the customer if he/she is ok with it. A minor point perhaps but customers notice these things

Always come here for drinks when we can. The staff are always really friendly and welcoming. Especially now at Christmas time the pub is really inviting and cosy with lights etc. We have always managed to get seats even though it’s busy and food always smells amazing.

We ordered Sunday roast, sirloin steak and pork belly. The sirloin, I was expecting 8oz (or similar size) steak (for the price) but it was a few thin slices of beef so not worth the money. The pork was ok but a was bit small. I won’t order the food here. It’s a nice place for a beer though

Great pub, very cosy with a snug section around the corner which could double as a living room. Staff are very good, my friend left her bag by accident and they retrieved it quickly for her.

I have enjoyed going to the Selkirk for the solid food, great service and lovely atmosphere, for some years, but if anything, I think the pub has got even better recently. It is the best pub in the area. We booked a Christmas meal there just before New Year's. In my experience set Christmas meals are typically disappointing but both our meals were fantastic. One of us is Gluten intolerant and the other vegetarian but they had no problems accommodating us. The service was very friendly and attentive. We have been back a couple of times since and everything was equally excellent.
