The Shoap - 11 am on Sunday - had no one in the queue when we arrived and ordered 1 sandwich and a mac and cheese pie. We were given the pie right away and stood to the side. Efficient - we thought.
We soon came to realise that the majority of people sitting down did not have food, and 15 minutes later we became concerned that it would be a long wait.
They proceeded to bring out 1-2 sandwiches every 10 minutes. I think we waited in total about 35 minutes. I lost count, it might have been longer.
There was no apology, we were standing that whole time. They continued taking more orders and the store got busy.
I was thinking the whole time my mac and cheese would go cold so I started to eat it standing up in the Shoap.
We finally got the singular sandwich and took it outside.
Taste of the mac and cheese pie - very good. As far as mac and cheeses go it’s nice - cheesier than some. And the pastry was nice. I only wish they provided some hot sauce on the side as an option.
The sandwich was fine. Bread was too big for the sausage. The first time trying this sausage and it was more sour than I expected - tasted mustardy. It was like spam meets corned beef. It wasn’t particularly hot.
Not sure if it was an off day, but I can’t say I’d go here again unless I really wanted some mac and cheese in the area.
Lots of Scottish groceries too - tablet, shortbread, etc.

It's expensive when compared to what would be paid in Scotland, £5 for pie at lunch and £5.50 for a roll n square. It's London prices. However, the rolls are divine and the square slice fabulous. It's a wee taste of home for us ex-pats. The coffee is good, there is tenants on draught. The people are very friendly and they were selling tablet when I was there. I too an English colleague who thought the vegetarian square slice was very good

If you're Scottish and craving a crispy roll and square sausage with a tattie scone this is the place to go 😋 I am so happy I can get this in London now. Also recommended if you just want to try some tasty Scottish cuisine or have a wee hangover. I need to go back as there were no pineapple cakes on Saturday, although the empire biscuit was delicious 😋

Ah lads it's great. Nice people, delicious food and comedy.
Cute independent place that sells tattie scones, hot pies and various Scottish goods and by goods really I mean greats.
The comedy nights are great, the food and produce is delicious and the staff are lovely.

Excited to find a Glasgow roll and square sausage for breakfast in London and was not disappointed. Great cafe with lots of Scottish goodies. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area. 👍

Terrific treats for any Scot craving a wee taste from home. I especially was looking forward to and thoroughly enjoyed a roll and slice with a cuppa and bought a pack of tablet for afters. . Just a real pity there’s no warm Scottish welcome.
It is a dark and dull little cafe with absolutely no atmosphere and very disappointing that the Scottish chap behind the till serving on Saturday is so miserable and no greeting, smile or thank you.
Not that busy when I visited and the few tables they have were all crowded with previous customers cups/glasses etc and needed a good clean. High prices for what you get so a clean environment would be most welcome.
Come on Scotsman, you can do better!
Will definitely be back as all the food is home made, familiar and I’m sure delicious but the staff need to be a bit more welcoming and friendly for this place to succeed and stay open
with so much competition
around.

Simply amazing. I loved finding this and have been back 3 times this week for a morning roll or scotch pie. Slightly pricey but much less than the trip to Scotland!
Tattie scones are a little thin though
