"The Signature Room, a restaurant and lounge located on the 95th and 96th floors of the former Hancock Building, has recently closed. The closing has led to a federal lawsuit filed by the union, Chicago Federation of Labor’s Unite Here Local No. 1, against the restaurant's owners for allegedly violating the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The restaurant employed over 100 full-time and several part-time workers, who were notified via email on the day of the closure. The lawsuit seeks wages, pension payments, and healthcare benefits for the affected workers." - Ashok Selvam

I celebrated my birthday at the Signature Room prior to experiencing Beyoncé on the Renaissance Tour. The view was amazing. We could actually see the jumbo tron at Soldier Field from our table. The personalized menus are a nice touch. The food was average but not terrible, but in all honesty, you're paying for the spectacular view. For the price, I actually expected the decor to be much better than it was. The dining room is very dated and I was disappointed to look at the table across from us and not only see the legs of the tables because the tablecloths don't go to the floor, but the legs had duct tape on them as well. That was extremely tacky. Our waiters were fabulous. We were pressed for time because the concert was supposed to start at 8 p.m. so we had a 5 p.m. reservation. We were finished with dinner and dessert by 6:30 p.m. even though we weren't seated until 5:30. We had to wait 3 rounds for the elevator, so you should probably get there at least 15 minutes early to avoid being late. I prepaid for parking ($16.50) after seeing that someone paid $68 by parking day of. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would go again just to see the sunset.

My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here and had a wonderful time! It may be important to note for those who have never visited, that you will need to wait to take the elevator up with a staff member, so I suggest arriving 10-15 minutes before your reservation time. Once arriving we were seated shortly and our evening was personalized with rose petals, wine my husband chose ahead of time, and personalized menus. Our waiter was unbelievably attentive and provided wonderful recommendations. We ordered dessert and were surprised with a lovely chocolate message and candle. The food was not anything significantly superior to other fine dining restaurants in Chicago but you’re paying for the view and quality service. Wonderful for special occasions.

Delicious food, good vibes and perfect service. The staff is very attentive and kind. The view is just magnificent! Halibut is a pure delight! I can’t give five stars only because of the dessert with a tempting name “Blueberry crisp with coconut sorbet”. This is a mistake and they should take it out of the menu. If it is offered for breakfast in 2 star hotel, why not but in such restaurant it is a shame. It tasted like cooked blueberries with morning granola. And yes, they forgot the sorbet!!!

Defiantly worth a brunch at the signature room! Brunch makes the prices more reasonable! Let me get into it! Food: Hands down worth every penny. The quality and the presentation are beautiful in every way. The taste was even more amazing. I personally liked the Risotto and my brother ordered the oysters! Simply amazing! Service: Unlike any other place I have been. How graceful the waiters and waitresses were made me feel even more confident. And they recommended dishes to use which was pleasant. Atmosphere: Or ambiance like I call it! The most beautiful view of down down as you sit near the widows. The decor matched every bit of the experience!

Google
A wonderful place for a date night or celebration with breath-taking 360 views of Chicago from 95 floors in the air. There’s really nothing that compares to a dinner like this. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and well worth the price tag. The staff was incredibly kind, taking note of and acknowledging and birthday, anniversaries, or other milestones. They were always offering to take pictures of customers and doing their best to accommodate their needs. The only opportunity here is the tight squeeze with the tables. Sometimes it can feel a bit tight with a lot of people dining in and servers running back and forth, but it is such a minor detail that I do not think takes away from the overall experience. Highly recommend you try this out at least once if you can!

Google
An absolutely amazing experience! I came here with my wife for our 1 year wedding anniversary and the staff was very accommodating and very friendly! Received and window seat (and completely worth it). The food was excellent and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely a great place to go if you're looking for something unique to do in Chicago!

Google
Restaurant located towards upper floors overlooking Chicago, providing an amazing scenic view. Entrance is located bottom floor lobby and you take an elevator to the restaurant entrance. The restaurant is dimly lit providing a scenic view of the lake and city skyline. You are greeted by receptionist and reservations are highly recommended. **WARNING** THIS SPOT HAS A VERY STRICT DRESS CODE. PLEASE BE SURE TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY BEFORE BEING TURNED AWAY AT THE DOOR, EVEN IF YOU HAVE RESERVATIONS. The bar area is located upstairs where you may be seated in front of large pane windows to oversee Chicago's beautiful city. On a work trip, we had reservations and showed up, luckily the group that entered showed in button ups, professional attire. One of our team members met up with us a little later, however, was turned away at the door for not wearing a collared shirt. He was wearing dress pants, dress shoes, and a nice sweater. He was not the only person turned away, when we first arrived, an older gentleman who was well dressed but had a sweater on was also turned away, even with a reservation, they will turn you away if you do not have a collared shirt. Now, given the situation, this did not effect the food aspect of my review. Let's just say we spent the week at different establishments for dinner every night, while the atmosphere was amazing and the view spectacular, this did not offset the food for cost compared to other locations. Dinner was OK. The receptionists were courteous and waiter was respectful. We had a fairly large group and I believe they did their best. The Bar side we were seated in, we witnessed people without collars and very disappointed with this spot. However Bar service was quick and courteous.

Yelp
What an unbelievable view of the Chicago skyline with a lounge that has great drinks with phenomenal prices for the location and Unbelievable view of Chicago from this upscale 96th-floor lounge, with a great ambiance. My man and I have visited on many special occasions.

Yelp
It was an insider tip and it was great. we did not go to the 360 observation deck (we had already been to Skydeck and enjoyed 'The Ledge'). But we did try this signature room. the view won't be changed it's one floor higher than the observation deck. With consistent accolades such as "Most Romantic Restaurant" and "Best View," The Signature Room and Signature Lounge have become part of the quintessential Chicago experience. It offers guests a dining experience with 360-degree unparalleled views of the Chicago skyline. menu features refined American cuisine and a vast list of domestic wines, local brews, and seasonally changing cocktails. we ordered their in-house beer and their famous wings. yeah, getting the desired table is a challenge here -especially the north side table - but hey you can always go to all sides and check out the views... in fact, 50-60 % of folks come for this only. oh yes, my wife gave me another tip -there is a gorgeous view from the Women's Restroom. 95 floors up with incredible views! Go for it...!!

Helene S.

Yelp
Go for the views! Take the elevator up 95 floors to get the most incredible view of Chicago. Navy Pier. Willis Tower. The Chicago Tribune. Wrigley Tower. Lake Michigan. The panoramic views from 1,000 feet are amazing! Use the 360 app to identify buildings. Tip: The ladies bathroom has floor to ceiling windows for an unobstructed view. Sorry, guys. No windows in your bathroom.

Andrew P.

Yelp
Every time I come here, I feel like I always impress someone visiting the city. For the most part, I'm always able to find a spot by the window because to be honest, what's the point of even coming up here if you can't have a nice view while you sit? The nice thing is that the staff here will accommodate you if you are willing to wait for a window spot. If you have a larger party than 4, it may take a lot longer for a window seat as they don't have many for larger tables at that amount of people. Drinks are average price here, and decent for what it is. I've never ordered food here, and probably don't plan to do I don't have anything to say on that. The women's bathroom apparently has an amazing view while the men's has no window. Lol.

Yelp
FOOD: (5/5) The lobster bisque was delicious. Even the French bread was good. The braised short ribs were so juicy and so tender, you didn't need a knife at all. The potatoes were also really good. They also have me a birthday crème brûlée! SERVICE: (5/5) Right when we got there, the waiter and his assistant came up so quickly. If you get a bottle, they would bring a fancy ice bucket to keep it cool and would come and refill your glass. They poured a little into my boyfriend's glass to see if he liked it before they charged us for it. They frequently checked in on us and were extremely polite. AMBIANCE: (5/5) It's dark and has a romantic / sophisticated feel. The views are phenomenal. Everything about it feels very high-end. Overall, it was a great experience!

Yelp
This place is at the top floor of a hotel. Very spacious and they known for the views. There is a line but we only had to wait like 15 minutes for a booth. Getting a view seat might take longer. The bathroom lowkey has the best view. When it comes the food we have not tried but we went for cocktail drinks. I personally like sweet drinks so I got the prickly pear and it was best decision!! I recommend this place and it has a good ambiance ! I would come here again!

Yelp
I don't think we could've celebrated our anniversary in a more beautiful place. After reading all of the mixed reviews on Yelp, I was worried about what to expect but we had a wonderful experience. We arrived at the bottom of the building and were asked if we had a reservation. We did so we got into a line to ride the elevator up to the 95th floor. The elevator is enclosed. Once we arrived at the top, we checked in at the host stand. Contrary to what opentable says, we were not able to request a window table. They sometimes have a waitlist but other times they do not, so don't bank on being able to wait for a table to open up. Thankfully, regardless, we got one! The views were stunning. I purposely made the reservation for 45 mins before sunset so we'd get to watch the sun go down and see both views of day and night. Check the sunset time ahead of time to be sure! Our servers were fantastic and friendly. He offered to take photos for us and got some great shots! The food itself was good. Not outstanding but it was still good. My salmon calm out raw in the center but they were very apologetic and quick to fix it. My husband got the short ribs which were soft. It was really special to celebrate our anniversary in this beautiful location. Food and drink prices felt fair when you consider the views and think about how much it'd cost to just come up to the view point alone without food.

Michelle M.

Yelp
The food was good. The service was even better. The views were spectacular. We arrived early and requested a window seat. They told us there would be no guarantees but... we got a window. Omgoodness. Gorgeous. The food was good but pricey. I suppose you're paying for the experience of it all. It was our anniversary so I say worth it. It's in the city so you do have to find parking. We just parked on site cuz the rest of our evening involved the 360 Tilt. Good times. Great memories.

Yelp
Lounge: This place is really showing its age. If not for the insanely amazing views, I'd rate it a 3-star. Tops. The tables and chairs in the lounge are reminiscent of a dive bar. I don't mind dive bars, but these aren't dive bar prices. The tourists are also rude and will crowd your table to get their next Instagram pics. They don't care that their sloppy cargo shorts are pressed up against the back of your head while you sit at your table. They're going to get their picture whether you're there or not. The drinks are decent. Not great. But decent. Would I come again though? Of course I would. Restaurant: I knew this billionaire who invited me to his holiday party weekend every yr in the signature room. Three days of partying and he put us all up in the Ritz across the street. He didn't want anyone driving. It was insane. While I can't speak of ordering off of the regular menu, the Signature Room's catering was always really fantastic. Multiple food stations everywhere and all pretty solid. While some station choices changed up, prime rib was always on the menu and it was one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. I looked forward to it every yr. And the views for both the Signature Room and the Signature Lounge... the best in all of Chicago.

Yelp
It was deja vu all over again Friday, since I had been to the Hancock building earlier in the day as part of an architectural walking tour. However, at night I was tipsy from the really well blended chocolate martinis! The Signature Room actually consists of two spaces within the Hancock building - a more formal sit down restaurant on the 95th Floor and the Signature Lounge on the 96th where I enjoyed. I'd had dinner elsewhere (duh, as a tourist I wanted to see many places) and at a good friends recommendation stopped here for a nightcap. The view is item #1 on your cocktail menu! Whether the Willis Tower poking through the cloud and fog, the adjacent rooftop patio and parties and condo units, enjoy the notes of Chicago nightlife as you sip. My nightcap was their smooth and sweet chocolate martini (maybe more than 1 lol). It had the right amount of sweetness and alcohol for social lubrication. Try to get a seat facing the windows to really highlight the experience. Here's where it gets 5 stars: though my first seat was at the bar, the bartenders let me know when a window seat became available to really sip top shelf liquor!

Van D.

Yelp
Let's grab a drink and enjoy the view. The Signature Room at the 95th has a reservation recommended dining experience on 95th floor but for us the superior choice is to enjoy the Lounge on the 96th floor. Reservations not accepted so you won't have to worry about the experienced being booked. You may have to wait if you would like to opt for the window seats. I honestly don't even remember what drinks we got because we were all absorbed in the view. Service was pretty slow and you might have to waive them down to order or get the check. The later in the night the better the view got since the city lights were a nice contrast against the darkness of the night. The best view for me was strangely... in the ladies' restroom. I was joking with the strangers in there like wow... this restroom has the nicest view I've ever been to. There were girls doing a photoshoot in there. Such a glorious view. My pictures do not do it justice. Will definitely come back and recommend to my others friends who are looking for travel spots in Chicago.

Alex A.

Yelp
The Signature Room came as a personal recommendation. What I wasn't expecting was for it to blow me away with how cool of an experience it was. It all begins when entering the lobby at the Hancock and then rapidly ascending on a blazing fast elevator. It's the fastest I've ever been on, we're talking 1,000 feet in a matter of a few moments. The elevator doors open up and BOOM --you're hit with this amazing view of Chicago, Lake Michigan, and a fine ambience. From the initial greeting to the table and food, it was a well-rounded experience. The tables are nicely set with a dimly lit faux candle, it's actually a bit romantic. The main courses between Braised Short Ribs and a deliciously roasted Halibut were excellent. I mean seriously, that Halibut was so spot on that I'll probably remember it for a long time. The buttery whipped potatoes were also an excellent side to pair with both main courses. The drinks were kept simple with a few beers and their signature cocktail. The Signature Lounge upstairs is also a great way to wait if you arrive early. Going to the lounge does not require a reservation, it's a first come first serve deal. This includes window views. If it's a busy night, there will likely be a wait at the lobby and then another wait once you get up to the 96th floor. However, it moves quickly once at the lounge. Overall, this was a highlight to a Chicago trip. The service was spot on. I recommend making the effort to stop by if searching for a fine restaurant with a view. Make a reservation and get dressed with some nice clothes, it's a good time up there.

Yelp
One of the best views of downtown Chicago! Come to unwind after a day of shopping on N. Michigan and grab yourself a cup of coffee and dessert or just a cocktail and enjoy the panoramic view of downtown Chicago. The view from the women's restroom is just as good. Hungry? Got Nextdoor to the signature dining room for the view of the water and boats .

Yelp
Ambiance - Not the best. It has banquet hall type tables and chairs. I think it's time for an upgrade/remodel in the section we were seated.. The paint is peeling off and the wood paneling coming off the wall. The view is a great. But not good enough to take away from the out dated furniture and environment. It's very loud and a people are seated very close together. So not easy to have intimate conversations. Service - the staff are on top of all your needs. They see my water low, they fill it. They see my fork dirty they replace it. They are all also super friendly. The service is 5 star all the way. Food - The steak I got was perfect, but the whipped mashed potatoes did not have a lot of flavor had a playdoh type texture and were bland tasting. My wife had the Halibut and she said it was good and had plenty of flavor. The chocolate vanilla mousse cake was super yummy for dessert.

Yelp
It used to be that The Signature Room at the 95th, atop the John Hancock Building at 875 N Michigan, was one of the pinnacles of fine dining in Chicago. Anniversaries were fêted and birthdays were toasted while getting a birds-eye view of the lake and skyline from one of Chicago's signature skyscrapers. I kinda feel like The Signature Room is a beautiful woman who is getting a little long in the tooth, starting to show signs of age. Still lovely, of course, the view, the view! We had reservations at 6pm and, though a little overcast, how spectacular it is to take in the city from this coveted perch. I started with a Blackberry Collins because it sounded fun: McQueen and the Violet Fog Ultraviolet Gin, blackberry brandy and lemon juice. It was pretty, sweet, strong and astringent. For starters we ordered the pull-apart bread, burrata and lobster bisque. My companions really enjoyed their bisque, it was rich and briny, though one commented that they've seen better presentations with bisque. For entrees we had the Roasted Alaskan Halibut, Miso Honey Glazed Salmon and Spice Braised Short Ribs. My salmon was perfectly cooked, the miso sauce complimented the fish with its creamy, honeyed and nutty flavor. It was probably double the portion of what I should be eating but I didn't leave anything on my plate. The halibut was firm and flaky and bathed in garlic butter and fennel. The short ribs were very tender and could have been eaten with a spoon. We accompanied our meal with roasted mushrooms with shallots and thyme, and enjoyed the buttery assortment. We finished with Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée. The list of desserts was limited and rather uninspiring, though the Crème Brûlée had a very nice thick crust, took a little effort to crack with a spoon, and the custard was a nice consistency. We couldn't really take an issue with the food which was wonderfully cooked and tasted great. I found the menu to be very traditional and safe. Chicago is such a vibrant city with exciting cuisines and cultures and the menu options could have reflected that. The service was fine: approachable and amiable and the timing of the dishes was perfect. We were not rushed. When you make your reservation you have to hold it with a credit card. On our way to the city, slowed by traffic, I called the restaurant and asked to change the time of our reservation and they said they couldn't alter the time but that our table was our table. When we encountered the long line for the elevator to the 95th (the Signature Room and the Lounge are in two lines but really just combine into one longer queue), we called the restaurant again and they said no problem. The restaurant has a dress code, which they address on their website, on their phone recording and there is a sign in the lobby. I didn't see the dress code adhered to. The elevator ride up to the restaurant was inconvenient and added to our frazzled nerves. The elevator ride down however, we were treated to a cacophony of ear-splitting shouting (patrons from the 96th floor lounge) for the 95 floors down. The elevators are fast, but not that fast. The Signature Room at the 95th will always be a lovely dining experience but perhaps needs a little updating and modernizing to stay at the top.

Yelp
A great place to get an amazing view of the Chicago skyline and enjoy a drink Pros - great ambiance with open 270 degree windows. I come here every time I want to show someone new to Chicago. The staff is friendly and there is quick service. Cons - limited options for drinks and food. Definitely check this place out if it is your first time in Chicago. If you are a local, the variety of drinks and menu items can be limiting.

Yelp
This Restaurant is very fancy. Perfect for an anniversary, birthday celebration, or a proposal. Really nice restaurant. The waiter and the helpers were super nice and very helpful. Our glass of water always full and they were super attentive. The waiter asked us what was the occasion for our visit and I just said we just came for the view. It's a magnificent view from the top of this sky scraper. The John Hancock. I had to make reservations and I made sure it was on time for the sunset. Even though Chicago's weather it's very unpredictable I took my chances and try to enjoy the sunset from the top. We got lucky because it's was pretty nice watching the sunsetting behind the clouds. Then we watch how the lights from the building came to life, another spectacular view!! I was very excited my heart was so happy! The food was spectacular too. The simple potatoes were very tasty and yummy. We were 3 people, my sister, my nephew who came to visit from Mexico and me. My nephew ordered the half chicken with some veggies. He mention he never tasted something like that. He was very delighted with his choice of dish. My sister and me shared the food, she is vegan so we only ordered veggies. Some cauliflower with some kind of rice and grains. We also ordered some potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms. Everything was finger licking delicious. Only that it was so fancy that we couldn't do that. Lol!! We had the privilege to watch a proposal! So romantic!! Of course she said yes! I made sure I took pictures and videos. Definitely a fancy, and so pretty night. We really enjoyed ourselves. We also got some drinks and desserts. Sadly I was checking on the menu to make sure I put the correct name on the drinks and dessert and I found out that the Restaurant last day to be open was yesterday. They closed the restaurant for good. I am si happy i made it and at the same time so sad for their closing.

Yelp
Signature Lounge at 96th floor not Signature Room. As a long-term Chicagoan/suburban Chicagoan it's been a while since I've been here. I was excited to show off the views to a new friend. Well that's about all that was worth showing off here. The service was poor like really poor. We stopped here around 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon for drinks and a dessert. There were maybe 20 guests total in the place along with 7 servers and bartender. Staffed well but poorly run. We were seated pretty quickly but facing southwest (worst view, imo). I should have asked right away to be moved but didn't. Bartender was nice and greeted us right away but then drinks took forever for a server to bring out. We ordered signature punch (only ok) and a Mezcal Paloma ( very small and not strong). Chocolate mousse was good but not great. We had different persons take our drink order, deliver our drinks, and deliver our food. We never really knew who our server was since no one came back to pick up our dirty plates (legit sat there with plates pushed over on counter with used forks for 20 minutes) and no one checked to see if we wanted any more drinks/food. We had to go over to the bar and chase down the bartender to finally get our bill. I understand that guests want to sit and enjoy the view and chill out but a server has to come over once in awhile to check in. We left a small (10%) tip which I have never done. Worst part is they probably just thought I was a poor tipper and never equated it to the service given. $50 total for a view. Is it worth it, hmmm? Come for the view (and the bathroom view!). Get your one drink and leave. It should be better.

Yelp
Full disclosure, I did not go to the restaurant on the 95th floor; this review is purely for my time at the bar on the 96th floor. If you're looking to get a gorgeous view of the city without paying something atrocious, this is definitely the place to go. However, given that the 96th floor is a bar, you do have to be over 21 to get in, otherwise you'll have to opt for the restaurant a floor below which is far more expensive I hear. I went on a Friday at about 9:30 / 10 PM and I waited in line for about forty-ish minutes to get a seat by the windows. Ambiance wise, it can get pretty rowdy and loud as it's a pretty crowded small space, so it won't be an intimate, romantic experience. Personally, I didn't mind as I got a gorgeous view for the price of a strawberry smoothie and a blood orange cocktail. The drinks were fine, not bad not amazing, and the cocktail was quite boozy, but it's certainly worth swinging by.

Yelp
Signature room was fabulous. I took my nephew for his 17th birthday so he could experience fine dining. The view is phenomenal if you are able to get seated around the window line. I ordered the salmon dish which was very good. My nephew ordered the roasted chicken and he devoured it. The wine selection is also nice too. Getting up to the 95th floor is a bit of a hassle. They need better signage for the elevator lines. Also maybe one designated elevator to go to 95 and one that goes to the 96th floor. Overall I would absolutely go again.

Love this place! 95 floors up with incredible views! Make sure to go to the bathroom to take a photo! Service was great, very attentive brought out drinks fast! We wanted a spot by the window, waited about 15 minutes at 4:30 on a Sunday. Not bad at all! I got a dirty martini extra dirty and an espresso martini. The dirty martini was pretty too ugh to drink. Not dirty at all. The espresso martini was great, it had baileys! A great place to take visitors!

Yelp
I visited this building because I wanted to go to the 360 tilt. I arrived early and they building guide said that there was a bar on the 95th fl so me and my friend decided to kill time. The view of the city made up for the lack luster environment. It reminded me of a 90s smoking room . Real old tables , dated designs but again the view was amazing but doesn't really distract you enough from the environment. I will say they had good starters. Because we had dinner pans there we didn't want to get too full. The spinach artichoke dip was just okay to me but the garlic butter bread was heavenly, not just because I love bread it was good ! The cocktail shrimp was also good. The drinks were strong ! I personally would just rather book a reservation in the restaurant and get a great view then the outdated smokers room

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant. Gorgeous views and delicious food. Staff is very attentive and friendly. I came here a while ago by myself and enjoyed it so much. I heard they are closing down soon though which is surprising and sad because I would love to come back. Hope it's just a rumor.

Yelp
A restaurant on the 95th floor of the Willis Tower, formerly known as the John Hancock Center, the Signature Room boasts impressive views. Taking the high speed elevator up to the top is quite the experience and you can see over all the other buildings in the city. The restaurant itself is facing the coast so in reality you see more of the lake than the city skyline. But the experience is impressive nevertheless. Since we had a large party of 9, the staff requested that we order from a specific set menu. The drinks were good and the staff were all attentive. Our waiter in particular was very personable. The food itself was good but I wouldn't say it merits the price tag of this place. I suppose you could say you're paying for the experience of eating in the clouds. But in that case it's not something I would come back a second time for.

Yelp
The Signature Room at the 95th is always a must visit for my wife and I when visiting Chicago for the past 48 years. Expect an affluent and nicely dressed clientele. The ladies take care to wear diamonds and gold for this occasion. Apparently The Signature Room at the 95th is very popular with visitors, tourists, and locals celebrating special occasions. For the demographic with disposable income, The Signature Room at the 95th is delightful. Reservations are an absolute requirement, and we phone our hotel concierge to arrange a table for two four to five weeks in advance of our Chicago Visit. The Signature Room at the 95th is located in the John Hancock Tower. We recommend cab service to The Signature Room at the 95th. The Signature Room at the 95th is fine dining at it's best. There will be a business clientele, and I always feel best in a suit. Expect very civil conversation at all tables. There are couples and foursomes as well as larger groups. Because Chicago weather is tricky, we may modify reservations if fog, rain, or heavy snow is predicated. The reservation may not guarantee a window table, and we realize that our hotel concierge has a better chance of reserving a corner north or south table. We prefer a 5:00PM reservation in the winter and a later reservation in the other seasons in order to view from The Signature Room at the 95th the dramatic change from daylight to twilight to the Chicago night-lights. My wife is patient as I may enjoy two Glenfiddichs, and she will sip a diet cola. The Signature Room at the 95th does not exert the slightest pressure to "turn tables," and there are always late night diners. This is Chicago, and I am greatly impressed with New York strip, while my wife may choose a filet, chop, or duck. We fined the wine list extensive and priced nearly the same as fine restaurants in any suburban area. We are always fine with a Cabernet Sauvignon (label vary.) The servers at The Signature Room at the 95th are highly skilled, and maintain a watchful eye for attending to the diners. Many of the servers have years of tenure with The Signature Room at the 95th. We find that the servers are very familiar with all aspects of the menu, the specials, and in particular the red wines. My wife will have dessert at The Signature Room at the 95th The dessert will vary, and my wife discusses the selections with the servers. The Signature Room at the 95th provides a romantic ambience, fantastic views, excellent service, and award winning dinners. The tariff is appropriate for the fare and service.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great ambiance! This place has met the trifecta!! We came here for a birthday and it was great. There's a dress code so FYI they might turn you away. The food was filling which was surprising. You would think with these kinda fancy restaurants, you'd leave still hungry but nope! We were STUFFED. We came for brunch during a weekday so it wasn't too busy.

Yelp
*** The signature room is technically the restaurant..my review is strictly based on the signature lounge on 96th, which is the bar right above the restaurant*** (they don't have a page). One of my favorite things to do in Chicago and I will do it every time. If you pay to go up to the observation deck/360 at the Hancock center, you're doing it wrong. It is free to go up to the lounge (with a drink/appetizer purchase) no reservations required and the dress code is pretty casual (no beachwear). Sometimes there can be a wait, especially if you want a table directly by the windows, but you can still walk up to open spots to get your beautiful photos of the amazing views. All drinks are around $17-and pretty stiff so you definitely get your moneys' worth. I recommend going up around midday/happy hour and if you stay long enough, you can enjoy the best of both worlds with daytime and nighttime views.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at the signature room launge on the 96th floor. I've been here for New years trip to Chicago. We were group of 8. We did not have to make an appointment for the signature lounge and were seated in less than 5 mins of arrival. What a wonderful experience and spectacular views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. The cocktails were amazing. We had ordered appetizers, and they were decent. The service was quick, and our server was sweet. I definitely recommend this place to grap quick drinks with amazing view.

Yelp
I've been to the Signature Lounge multiple times and it has been amazing. The views are great and I usually get the raspberry fizz as I do not drink alcohol. The raspberry fizz is a bit sour but I like it! I also tried the spinach and artichoke dip which came with warm bread. It was great and you can really tell that they put artichoke hearts and spinach in the dish. The staff moves quickly and will follow up with you for your order as it is a popular location. They are also more than willing to take a picture for you.

Yelp
The Signature Room on the 95th floor is definitely a whole other experience than your typical dinner in Chicago. The views here from your table (if you're lucky enough to get one by the windows) are absolutely mesmerizing. To access the restaurant, you enter the Hancock building and take the elevator up to the 95th floor. The elevator goes up fast and your ears will pop FYI! Once you enter the restaurant from the elevator, you will be taken aback by the extremely large windows with views from all sides of the city. The staff here is SUPERB - they're all so courteous, helpful, approachable, and polite! 10/10 service for sure. One thing that I found super disappointing is that you can't request or select some option that you'd like like to sit by the windows. I think it's needless to say that 90% of people that come to the Signature Room are here for the views. I wish you could select some option when booking your reservation that you'd like to sit by the windows (we'd even pay extra for it, but again there was no option). We weren't sat by the windows and didn't make a big deal about it, but it was just a little disappointing since the sole reason why we came here were for the beautiful views. It just wasn't the same experience we wanted out of it. The food was okay - the best thing was the New York strip steak. It was juicy and I loved the sauce that came with it! The miso salmon itself was good, but the Brussels sprouts that it sat upon were just not good and had a weird flavor. The side off broccoli tasted like something I could defrost and boil at home. The cocktails were very simple cocktails, as well. I would only come here again for a big occasion or if I knew for sure I'd be sitting by the window to see that beautiful view! Other than that, I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here again.

Yelp
When you get off the elevator you see a nice elegant looking restaurant with sparkling clean windows and a beautiful view of the city. Move around the corner and you start to enter the dingy part of the area - the lounge. Here elegance is replaced with dilapidation. The crowded feeling you get from being squished next to other tables is slightly reduced by looking out the large dirty windows with a great view of the city. There is nice little platform that you can use to get some photos. Service was friendly and drinks were reasonably priced. The food choices seemed good but I didn't try any. I kept thinking of the bars that I've visited in NYC and Toronto where you get a nice city view and the lounge is worth visiting.

Yelp
The Signature Lounge gets five stars for me based on the view and the many times we have shared drinks and food with family and friends over the years. Yes, it is full of tourists, yes it can be expensive, but I don't care, she is like an old comfortable pair of shoes....I can't quit her. To enjoy this experience, it is all about planning the time you get there. It is possible to get a table in the window without people climbing all over you to take photos. And I love that I can park in the building and not worry about the need to carry a coat. Parking is very expensive, so do yourself a favor and reserve through Spot Hero to save some bucks so you have money to spend in the lounge. The view at The Signature Lounge cannot be beat. Sitting in the window sipping on Moët & Chandon, watching the sunset is awesome. The colors are amazing and depending on the day, you will see blues, oranges, purples, pinks all blending together. During the day you can take in the Chicago skyline, with views of Lakeshore Drive, Navy Pier & Lake Michigan, depending on where you are sitting. But I love seeing the city lights after the sun has set. Service for me has never been a problem, from the host/hostess to the servers, they are warm and welcoming. As some reviewers have mentioned, the décor could use a serious makeover, but I get the feeling that most of the folks that visit for their one drink and 100s of photos don't mind. The food is not bad, I would recommend the Guajillo Braised Beef Nachos with Chihuahua cheese, pickled jalapeño, sour cream and the Spinach Artichoke Cheese Dip with sourdough bread. There was enough food for the three of us to nosh on. We ended up splitting the Dark & White Chocolate Mousse Cake, which I love. Definitely delish and should have gotten one on my own. Can you tell from my reviews that I don't like sharing....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yelp
The views from this place are truly incredible. We came when it was foggy and it felt like we were in a different reality. We only did drinks and they were good but very pricey. Cool place to visit but maybe not a regular thing.

Yelp
Ive been here multiple times, and i'm now finally writing a review for this place. This restaurant has decent food, but i'm giving them a 4 stars because of the experience. The view is the first and foremost the best part of this place. You can request a seat by the window and they'll try their best to get that for you. We went a bit early to avoid the line to get up to the restaurant, but unfortunately we weren't able to see the view when it was dark out. Onto the food!! The food was good, but came out fast since we got there early. The short ribs were very flavorful and seasoned. The whipped potatoes were definitely whipped and buttery. If you want the best experience, I would say make a reservation and request for a window seat, and if you want stay till later even though you have to wait in a line to see the view in the dark.

Yelp
If you're considering this for some good romantic dinner this is it! My husband and I celebrated 2 yrs here and we were more than surprised. The service was phenomenal, food came out quick. Definitely try to get a window view 100% worth it . The waiter was awesome super attentive. Average price was around $20 which isn't too bad . We paid $200 for 2 of us with two entrees , 3 drinks , and 2 sides and the customized menus , rose petals and the banner. 10/10

Yelp
Permanently Closed It's been a minute since we've been to The Signature Room. We celebrated so many milestones here. We wish everyone the best in their future endeavors. 09.28.23

Yelp
Amazing views of the city! If you're visiting Chicago this is a great place to check out! Drink prices are a little high but it's worth it for the incredible view. We headed up on a Sunday around 4:30 so we could see everything in the daylight and then watch the sun set. I highly recommended doing it that way. By the time the sun was setting the line to get in was insane! We only had a 20 minute wait for a window table, so we were thrilled! Many people told us one of the best views is from the women's bathroom and that was definitely the case!

Yelp
The 95th floor offers a uniquely gorgeous view of the city so I wanted to bring my family for a meal. Unfortunately, the best part of our dinner was the view. The menu items were a bit overpriced for what they were and the service was rude. We felt very rushed to make decisions, even though we had to wait half an hour for our table despite making a reservation. For the appetizers, we ordered the pull apart bread and the octopus. The octopus wasn't bad but the bread was disappointing. For the main, I ordered the chicken. It was a massive portion but again, nothing special. I think the dining experience is unique and the view is definitely worth experiencing, but you can skip the meal and just go to the lounge or 360 Chicago.

Yelp
This was a fun spot to get a drink and view Chicago! Once we were seated, the experience was quite nice. The drinks were understandably expensive, but tasty. We got a strawberry smoothie and a Manhattan! The wait for a seat was really long and poorly organized, but overall this place is worth a visit!

Yelp
Perfect place to have a great dinner and impress your girl! The service is amazing, ambience is cozy!

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here while on our mini honeymoon. We came on a Monday night, which was perfect because we didn't have to deal with the long lines that others spoke of in their reviews. Once on the elevator, it does not feel like you are traveling to the 95th fl, but you know that you are because my ears were popping. We had a 745pm reservation, but we were actually early since we were staying at the Viceroy hotel. We I had the Signature room punch, which sounded fruity, but I tasted the rum more, and for me, I needed more juice. He had a resling wine which he liked. We didn't do appetizers because it was nothing that caught our eye. He had the roasted chicken with roasted potates, which he said was good. I had the ny strip with mash potatoes. Mash potatoes were very good, but I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it was more medium well because it was barely to no pink in the center. The steak was good but could have been great if you cooked as asked. For dessert, we had the vanilla bean creme brulee, which was so good that my husband tried to eat the whole thing and it was his first time having it. The main reason for going is the view. We wish we could have had a window seat facing navy pier but we had an aisle seat facing north. We could still see the view but I didn't know want to keep looking over since couples were sitting at the tables in front of the window. Over ok, not sure if I would go back. I can scratch this off our bucket list.

Yelp
You gotta celebrate your special nights in here. Planned to visit here for a birthday dinner. It didn't take a lot of hassle to place my reservation through OpenTable. I planned on my visit for weeks and finally arrived 30mins earlier to get the best table. Finally they gave us the table next to the south-facing façade. The best views of Chicago!! I'm hopefully sure the east and south would be the best views!! Nothing great to talk about the food. Too expensive! Not worth the money but people still come here just for the views. Less options for vegetarians. My order: Signature room beer Grapefruit mule Spicy garbanzo Burratta Roasted cauliflower Crème brûlée They helped me celebrate the birthday with surprise sparkler on the dessert.

Yelp
My husband and made a reservation for our anniversary while visiting chicago in May. The restaurant is beautiful and the view is breathtaking , it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service is exceptional and classy, the food, drinks and desert were delicious. It was a very memorable dinner experience and i would highly recommend it , there's also a bar upstairs you can enjoy the full views while sipping a drink.

Yelp
Went in for Mother's Day and was kind of disappoint. We use to love the brunch buffet but word is that is not coming back since it closed during covid. On mother days there was a prefix menu and they would not change anything on it. You can't even get cheese on the scrambled eggs. Lol we'll pay extra for the cheese but the chef didn't want to hear it. The champagne was pretty good, a bit sweet, but not bad. Short rib was average, biscuit was cold, you'd think it would be warmed to melt the butter, fresh fruit and yogurt was tasty, blueberry crisp was average. However the banana French toast croissant casserole was not good. Very very soggy and sweet. Couldn't finish it. Came with sausage which was good but the casserole was just ugly and didn't not taste good.

Yelp
We went here for Valentine's Dinner. Due to work schedules we had to get reservations for a time that we could make, and the Signature Room was able to accommodate. You can read many of the other rooms that will tell you about the view, it's fantastic. You go here for the view if nothing else. Our table wasn't right against the glass, but we did have a nice view out of two different windows, and it was beautiful. Since it was Valentines Day they had a limited menu, but that was okay by us. We were pleased with the food. Each person chose from each course. For the first Course I chose the Charred Octopus with Chickpeas, avocado and a pumpkin seed chili. It was good, I like trying new things. I wouldn't go out of my way for it again. My girlfriend ordered the Millionaire Bacon skewers with spicy maple glaze... Those win. They were awesome. But you can't go wrong with bacon. For the second course I ordered the Lobster Bisque. This was delicious, I enjoyed every spoonful of it. She had a salad, I don't recall what kind, because it was a salad. Nothing to write about. For the third course I had the Lemon Pepper Roasted Lamb Chops with warm sprouted lentil salad. It was tender, juicy, pealed off the bone. I was very please with this choice. She had the Filet of Beef with buttery whipped potatoes and broccoli. She's still talking about it. The final course/desert was a plate with three different options on it. All where delicious.. the only thing that was distracting is that in chocolate they attempted to write "Happy Valentines" but seriously misspelled Valentines. lol She had some wine, and I had an iced tea that was amazing. It had a smokey flavor that set off my longing for a nice peaty scotch... It was fantastic. Our service was good. We were there on Valentines, so it was busy. Long waits, and reservations only. It was difficult to navigate through the waiting area when you exited the elevators, but that might be unique to the night. Overall it was a good experience. I'm not sure it was worth the cost for just the food, but for the overall experience... I'd say for a special occasion it is worth it.

Yelp
My husband and I went last night to celebrate and had a lovely time. We got the pull apart bread, I got the filet with whipped potatoes (SO GOOD), and he got the lamb. We had a reservation but requested to wait a little longer for a window seat and it was absolutely worth it. We waited at the lounge bar and they came to get us about 20 minutes later. Watching the sunset views were amazing, and the service was great! Everyone was so kind and wanted to make your experience better. Would recommend!

Yelp
Getting here was a bit confusing for me, but once I figured out that I needed to look for the Signature Room signs and bypass the "Chicago 360" signs and lines, I was golden. Take the escalator up to the Signature Room elevators. There will likely be a line to get into the elevator, but we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes until we were on our way up to the 96th floor! The 95th floor is the Signature Room, the formal dining room with white tablecloths, and the 96th floor has the Lounge, where you don't need reservations to get in. Staff members were great at directing us and managing the lines. The vibe inside the Signature Lounge is boring and felt like an airport lounge, but you're really there for the view. We arrived right before sunset, which was perfect timing. It really is awesome to see the city right at sunset and then also at night all lit up. The room itself was a bit crowded, but strangers were happy to help take photos for our group and we assisted some other parties as well. The drinks were pricey of course, but I think it was well worth it to experience at least once. Our server was great and we had no complaints there.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a Thursday evening at 5:45pm at the Signature Room. I was moving so slow because I wasn't feeling well that we got to the restaurant at 6:07pm. The host didn't even query us but she did say she couldn't sit me until my other party got there as he was still parking the car in the garage. He got up to the restaurant around 6:15pm and we were seated by the window (not directly next to the window but a table over). Our server came over and took our order. I got a Caesar salad as my starter, salmon as my entree and a bottle of wine for the table. He got the oysters and then the steak for his entree. Our meals came out relatively quick. My salad was great but the salmon was way too salty. I didn't have the heart to send it back so I ate it. I enjoyed the evening and the best part of it was the view and the service. The staff there was top notch.

Yelp
When we were visiting Washington D.C. earlier in the week we met a couple who said their favorite bar in Chicago was the Signature Lounge. After having visited, I can see why. The Signature Room on the 95th floor is more of a sit-down restaurant with a more formal dress and upscale vibe whereas the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor is a bar where the only requirement is no sleeveless shirts. When we arrived at the lobby there was a line to the elevator and there was an elevator man checking IDs and bringing people up. For some reason I was really amused by the fact that the elevator only had four buttons other than the lobby: the garage floor, the 94th, the 95th, and the 96th floors. Right when you walk into the bar area the first thing you'll see are the amazing views of the city. They were by far the best views of the city that we saw on our trip. We were fortunate to get a seat directly against the window so we could enjoy the beautiful views. They had free wifi which was a life-saver because I had no signal up that high. We ordered the guajillo braised beef nachos ($16) which were good although on the simpler side. The beef was good but I personally think it could've used something like guac or bacon bits; nonetheless it was still a good shareable snack. My first drink was the whiskey business ($16.50) which felt like an elevated whiskey sour but with ginger and strawberry. My second drink was the blueberries and bourbon ($16.50) which was very blueberry-forward but balanced. This place is pricey but it's definitely worth a visit. There are other places in Chicago where you can pay for nice views so why not come here for that along with something to eat or drink? You just can't beat great food, great drinks, great company, and great views.
