Try the Three Little Pigs, a big sandwich stacking together double-smoked ham, panko-breaded pork tenderloin, and Applewood-smoked bacon, all topped with melted Gruyere cheese and a fried egg, along with a panko-breaded onion ring on top of the bun.

Inspired by Bavarian Monks, Paddy Long’s Owner Lives on Beer for Lent - Eater Chicago

"Local bar owners and restaurateurs Gregg Weinstein and Kevin Killerman purchased the business at 770 N. Milwaukee Avenue, and “plan to lovingly restore the hearty brick Matchbox and eventually reopen the historic Silver Palm dining car next door.”" - Naomi Waxman

Silver Palm, where Anthony Bourdain ate ‘the greatest sandwich in America,’ to close in West Town inside a 71-year-old dining car as the Matchbox bar could be in jeopardy - Eater Chicago

"The Silver Palm, known for its 1947 Budd dining car, became famous after Anthony Bourdain declared its Three Little Pigs sandwich as the greatest sandwich in America. The sandwich includes a deep-fried pork cutlet, bacon, and smoked ham, covered with Gruyere and two eggs. The announcement of its closure at the end of the month has led to a final rush to experience its signature dish." - Ashok Selvam

Really unique setting for practically authentic Pisco sours and what Anthony Bourdain calls the Greatest Sandwich in America. We went on a snowy Saturday, only one other table was sat the entire time we were there. I suspect that’s not normal. There aren’t a ton of options for anyone who doesn’t eat red meat. The salmon was tasty. Service was great, I mean, we were the only ones there. Really yummy comfort food.

my Three Little Pigs sandwich was pretty darn tasty. the onion ring were tasty and thick cut. i enjoyed my Old Style much more than i thought i would. she got a chicken ceasar salad she seemed to enjoy. we would definitely go back.

The ribs were below average and the onion rings had no taste whatsoever. Would not eat there again.

Good food and great service. Plus eating in the train car was very cool. Packed house when we came in but food still came out quickly and hot. Drinks were strong and good selection of choices. I used to cook pizza in a school bus and loved what they did with the train car. I will be back when I am in town next.

Some things are good. The 3 little piggy sandwich was good but overrated. Would have been perfect with about 1/3 of the ham. My wife however did not enjoy her meal, she got the fish tacos and couldn't stomach more than a couple of bites, which was a first for her.

The idea of eating in a old train car, made me go there. The food was better than your average bar grub. French onion soup was spot on. The sammy portions are on the larger size, I ain't complaining. Our server was very attentive and pleasant.

Best Manhattan in Chicago and possibly the best cocktails too. Each cocktail costs about $8-$9, or maybe more if you get the special one. The kicker though is that you are left with the shaker used and there is enough left inside to give you a full refill! The head bartender is the nicest guy. He embodies customer service. The food is great as well. I usually get the Three Little Pigs sandwich, which is a bacon, baked ham, and some other meat sandwich. It it delicious and guaranteed to satisfy the most voracious of appetites.

I have yet to eat here but the atmosphere is just great old school chicago. The drinks were affordable and very well crafted. The pineapple gimlet was fantastic! Can't wait to come back and eat a Three Little Pigs!!
