Inventive cocktails, upscale bar food, and cozy ambiance

"There are two margaritas on the menu at The Snug: a nitro margarita and a Baller Margarita. The nitro comes out of a keg and gains some creaminess from the addition of the nitrogen, but it also has a bit of a metallic taste in return. But it’s the somewhat embarrassingly named Baller Margarita you’ll want to order—it features a combination of El Tesoro reposado tequila, Fortaleza blanco tequila, and saline. While we’re unsure if the saline actually does anything, the end result is a highly sippable margarita that’s a little more complex than your average drink." - ricky rodriguez
"You got a new haircut and for the first time that you can remember, it looks exactly how you hoped it would. Use this as an opportunity to convince your friends to get a litle dressed up and just go out. Starting at The Snug would be a good idea because it feels like a bar where reservations are totally necessary, even though they’re not. Plus, the drinks here are great, from their take on a Sazerac to the scotch cocktail that they have on tap. Their small plates are good too - definitely get the Korean fried chicken wings, brussels sprouts, and hummus with sesame naan." - will kamensky
"There’s probably no better place to grab a cocktail in the neighborhood than at this cozy bar, open since 2017 on the corner of Clay and Fillmore streets. The bar space got an update in 2024, with an updated look and a renewed focus on the drinks menu. Order the vodka-based tanghulu no. 2 for a drink version of the candied fruit, or sip the Sakura, made with Japanese whiskey, cherry blossom, basil eau de vie, pink peppercorn, and yuzu. The food menu has gone the way of the taqueria, with Taco Primo serving tacos, bowls, and burritos for hungry guests." - Dianne de Guzman
"This Pacific Heights cocktail bar is selling a “City Of Angels” cocktail through the end of January. $3 from every drink will be donated to the California Fire Foundation and Pasadena Humane Society." - julia chen 1
"A neighborhood bar has mixed up a special cocktail for donations called "City of Angels," which "features your spirit of choice, kumquat, floral and rosemary vermouth, citrus, and rose water," and $3 from every sale will be split and donated to the California Fire Foundation and the Pasadena Humane Society." - Dianne de Guzman
